Mouse cursor appearing as an arrow instead of a hand over album links

Hi. I've just published my iWeb 08 site on .Mac (using Zone Edit to set up the CNAME for my personal domain, purchased from Last Digital). For some reason, when I hover over the links in the My Albums page, the mouse cursor appears as an arrow instead of the usual hand cursor. This has already confused a few of my testers, as obviously people are conditioned to expect a link where they see a hand. The links themselves work fine, it's just that the mouse cursor makes it look like they're not links. Does anyone know how this can be fixed so that the hand appears when you hover over each image? You can see the page in question here - http://www.paulinelockie.com/Pauline_Lockie/Portfolio/Portfolio.html

That's the way it is.
When you have multiple images in an album, and move the pointer over the album, you see the images displayed.
Since it is not really a link, a pointer is used instead of the hand. It's a design decision.
Send a feedback to the iWeb team.

    I've exactly the same problem. I can see it eg in Fallout 2 running in wine. I guess it has something to do with xserver or nvidia drivers. I'm sure that it's not WM specific, because I can reproduce it with MWM, TWM and so on.

    I have this question too but I found the answer at another thread. It is due to Adobe PDF plug-ins. In case you haven't seen it, the link is as follows:

  • Duplicate mouse cursor appears (but doesn't move) on second monitor

    I have a Mac Pro with the ATI XT1900 video card and 2 Dell 2407WFP LCD monitors attached via DVI.
    When I'm using an application, such as a web browser, and the cursor changes state (like the black arrow with spinning wheel in corner) a duplicate of this cursor state appears on my second monitor, on the left-hand side of the screen.
    This cursor DOES NOT MOVE, but does animate, and will not disappear unless I move my "live" cursor over to the second monitor, which I imagine causes OS X to "refresh" the position of the cursor. It realizes the duplicate shouldn't be there and it vanishes. The second cursor seems to appear only when the primary live cursor changes state, as in the black arrow becoming a black arrow with spinning wheel in the corner, etc.
    This is not a duplicate cursor due to having Displays set up to mirror one another. The second cursor doesn't move.
    This has happened in more than one software application, so it appears to be some sort of display driver error at the system level.
    Anyone else experience this or have a way to fix it? There have been several Apple Updates to OS X since this problem first started happening (on day 1 with the Mac Pro) and it has not been resolved.

  • Cursor as Pointer Hand over ALL links?

    Looking to emulate what flash and browsers do for buttons, switch from the cursor to the pointer hand. It seems to happen to everything seen as a button but I need it to do that on all links. Suggestions? This is for an exe. presentation.
    Thanks

    just to chime in, this another "oops we did it again" by adobe.
    They claimed that flash was now used to build "applications" and in "applications" you don't get a pointer finger everytime you interact with a menu / button. So now the default behavior of interactive objects is to NOT show the pointer.
    They developed the original tv.adobe.com site using flash and it was a disaster. It was very bizarre and counter intuitive to interact with elements and not have the cursor change. The latest version of the site has been html-ized and all the ineractive elements now show the pointer. the site is better organized and a pleasure to use.
    It goes without saying that any interactive content in the context of a browser (99% of all flash deployment) should give you a pointer finger when you rollover. I guess they thought they could change a decade of user experience.
    For now you manually have to enable button mode when you want this "default" behavior. you could probably build an array of all your buttons and blast through to make the change... but its still work.

  • Mouse cursor displays the wrong icon

    My cursor still changes based on the context, like hovering over a link or in a text field, but displays the wrong icon.  After focusing a text field, the cursor is a reggular arrow in the text editor and turns to the text staff outside of it when it should be an arrow.
    I just did a fresh install of 10.6.8 on a crucial m4 - ct256m4ssd
    I FOUND THAT RESIZING THE MOUSE CURSOR IN THE UNIVERSAL ACCESSS PREFERENCES temporarily restores the cursor to a size-adjusted mouse, until I do something like click in a text field.

    just re-install the os

  • Changing console mouse cursor

    I have 2 things that I haven't been able to fix/configure since my switch to a CLI only system:
    1. I use gpm but I can't ffs find how (or if) I could change that block mouse cursor to a normal arrow (the CLI one..like FreeBSD has)
    2. Same problem with links -g, the cursor is fine there (arrow) but it's WAAAAY to big. How could I change its size?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Cursor arrow does not become hand-with-finger over some links.

    Recently, on some web pages, the arrow cursor doesn't become a pointing finger when placed over a link on a web page. Usually these are links at the top of the screen. If I try to right-click to open the link, the "open" is gray (inactive). For instance, on the current Firefox page, I cannot click on the Sign Out, Inbox, Other Applications, etc. I cannot click on the Search Firefox Help display.
    However, I can click on the Features, Mobile, Add-ons, etc. at the bottom of the screen.

    Recently, the Yahoo Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to overlap invisibly over the top of the web page display. If you have either or both, uninstall or disable them/it, or see if an update is available that solves the problem.

  • Keynote - recording mouse cursor

    I know how to record a slide presentation using Keynote but I would like to record my mouse cursor movements over the slide during the presentation.  At the moment, I can see see the mouse cursor and manipulate it but it does not carry over to the recording. Does anyone know if this can be done?
    I have a MacBook Pro with 10.10 and Keynote 6.5.
    Thanks!

    Because the original question was asking if it could be done in Keynote - not with the use of other applications.  So, from what I gather then answer must be no and that I have to use other applications. Keynote allows you to record your lecture and it takes note of slide progression. You can also restart the audio recording of a slide if you make a mistake so you don't need to get it all right in one go. The only thing is that it doesn't have an option to point to images on the slide during the presentation such that is visible in the output screenplay. This is important because I want to record lectures for students.
    When you switch to QuickTime or Screencast - you cannot run the Keynote presentation such that you can also record animations that you have incorporated into the slide.  The point is to record the lecture presentation exactly as it is in Keynote but with the option to point to items in the slide. I'll keep searching for the answer but I appreciate your suggestions and I will look into it. Camtasia seems like a good tool.

  • [SOLVED] Mouse cursor does not appear in Xorg

    Hi,
    I recently migrated from NetBSD to Arch, loving it so far, but I've run into a problem. Openbox has been running great for me so far, but now the cursor seems to have disappeared from Xorg. The last things I did were:
    echo 'tint2
    wicd-client' >> ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh
    I also set the following in /etc/rc.conf for wicd as instructed in the wiki:
    INTERFACES=(!eth0 !wlan0)
    I also added dbus wicd to my daemons array:
    DAEMONS=( ... dbus wicd ... )
    So now my daemons array looks like this:
    DAEMONS=(syslog-ng dbus wicd !network netfs crond sshd slim)
    I've tried reversing the above steps, but to no joy. I have noticed, however, that if I send a message to the display with xmessage, the cursor appears in the top left as the standard Xorg "X" mouse cursor and can be moved. However, right clicking or left clicking does not seem to interact with openbox as it should at this point.
    I did wonder if it was merely the cursor missing and the mouse was still actually performing actions, but if I right click I get no message from my window manager. System/Xorg information follows:

    And, of course, as soon as it isn't 3am, I realise that it is because I haven't run the programs in the background. Oh dear...

  • When i move the cursor into this button instead of Arrow mark i need hand i

    Hi friends,
    I have a button like below .
    <input type=submit  name="onInputProcessing(select)"  value=" Material ">
    When i move the cursor into this button instead of Arrow mark i need hand sign.
    Moosa

    hi use onmouseover event in your button and set the cursor style for button through java script
    function cursor()  -
    > include this function between your script tag
    var e = document.getElementById('select');
    e.style.cursor ="hand";
    call this function in your button onmouseover event

  • Mouse cursor issues (changes back to arrow)

    I keep having this annoying issue with the cursor of my mouse. It works just fine for a while, but after few hours (usually working with PS, Illustrator etc.) there is this thing happening - if I want to resize a window, an Illustrator object, or if I move the cursor over a hyperlink - cursor changes from an arrow to a hand or whatever desired sign - but just for a second and goes back to arrow! It is highly annoying. :/
    Idk the source of this problem, but I might add that I once installed a patch for Yosemite, which changes Helvetica system font for Lucida Grande. I uninstalled it though...
    I use the latest MacBook Pro 13-inch with Yosemite.
    Many thanks.

    Same problem.
    My setup:
    MBP running OS X 10.9
    Apple TV running 6.0 (6646.65)
    Samsung HD TV
    It's only happening when I have mirroring turned on (not extended desktop), and when I have the mirrored resolution set to match the TV. The TV has a larger viewing area than my Macbook Pro. My MBP screen resolution is set to "Scaled: Best for retina"
    This started happening after the update to Mavericks.
    EDIT:
    This solved it for me: I had Air Display running in the background, and the new version of Air Display automatically tries to connect to devices when it's running. My iPad is out, and I think Air Display might have been trying to connect to it. I quit Air Display and the cursor issue is gone.

    This is not a reply. I just want to elaborate on this problem.
    My computer freezes occasionally when it is used after being sleep for a while. The spinning ball appears and everything is totally disabled. Nothing on the keyboard works.
    The mouse moves, but does not work.
    The only solution is to turn the power off and on (losing all data in open applications.)
    I kept the System monitor running on the side to find out which program was running when the computer froze. The Monitor as well as all other applications froze, but the data showed:
    Firefox 18.4%
    Activity Monitor 0.9%
    Firefox Plugin 0.2%
    This is all the information I have. By the way, I am using iMac with OS 10.6.

  • My cursor is a notepad symbol, instead of the usual arrow. Any ideas?

    The cursor has a notepad floating with it wherever I move it. The cursor usually is an arrow, or a hand when over a link. The notepad is annoying. Any ideas?

    * Is this all the time with all programs?
    Then it is your computers mouse / pointer settings.
    * Is this happen '''only''' in the Firefox window?
    It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware.
    Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is
    there for. Also, check the programs that are on your computer
    '''''Windows > Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.'''''
    Go thru the list and use a web search to check any that you don't
    know what they are.
    '''''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware Troubleshoot Firefox Issues Caused By Malware]''''' {web link}
