Mouse disappears in CP6

Has anybody seen a situation where the mouse starts to move correctly, then disappears for the last "inch" or so of the path before clicking?
This has turned up in some courses created by one particular person who has since uninstalled Captivate, so we have no way of checking the behavior.

Do you have the source files? Or that's what you're saying, you don't have CP anymore so even if you do have the source files, you can't open them...
(in which case, download the trial and use that?)
Are these 'full motion' (aka 'video') slides? If so, and the mouse is part of the recording, then the drop of the mouse is a product of a 'bad' recording and there's nothing you can do but re-record the process.
If these are not full-motion and the mouse is layered on top of the screenshots, check to see if perhaps the mouse is moving behind a layer on a higher level, so it's 'disappearing'.
If that's not it, if the project looks like it's setup correctly, then just try to republish it.

Dual 23 inch mouse disappears on Left monitor only

I can see everything fine on both monitors and can drag windows to both monitors. The only problem is that the mouse disappears on the left monitor. But if I'm good, I can grab windows there and move them (pain in the ***).. I just can't see the mouse !!!!

We went through a similar discussion with the placement of the Dock with multiple displays, and found by experiment that the dock is placed on the specified edge of the main display (bottom, left, right), unless that edge was extended by an adjacent display along that edge, in which case the Dock was placed on the edge of the Extended Desktop.
I think Capt Fred is saying something similar for this as well.

Touchpad Mouse Disappeared

Hi,
My Touchpad/mouse stopped working earlier today. It was working this morning and when I got home it wasn't.
I'm currently using a usb HID compliant mouse.
I have a Pavilion Dv4-4270us.
First I went to device manager and tried updating the drivers. Nada.
Restarted. Nada. Not only that, but the mouse disappeared from the device manager.
Downloaded Synaptics Driver from this model's page on HP's site. Installed. Nada.
Restarted. Nada.
Is there a physical button on the computer that shuts the mouse?
Does that make sense?
Otherwise, how do you suggest I get my mouse back?

Mouse freeze or mouse disappear

Anyone have there mouse freeze whan applications are terminated?
Anyone have there mouse disappear in documents or when entering data in web fields?

Mouse doesn't disappear, but it often freezes (it is democratic, because it freezes with apple's e non-apple's applications). The only chance I have is to shut down the computer. After the restart of the system, sometimes I had to restore from backup mail and/or iTunes ("the folder seems damaged") and Safari settings. Sometimes I had to repair not only disk permissions, but the disk, too. The freezing succeeds with Apple's and non-Apple' mouses, on iMac and on iBook. No crash log appears.
It seems to me that this freezing begun after 10.4.6 realize: may be a patch is necessary to solve this .....

Mouse disappears

mouse disappears after closing a program. could nothing do only to shut down the macbook with the on/off button. can anybody help?

Yes it is most annoying! The issue is also covered in these two recent topic threads the problem seems to be the way a web-site is coded & the way Safari renders it, at least that is what I have found when I have checked the sites with the http://validator.w3.org/ just copy & paste the url into the field & click "check", if you are interested in checking.
For me the curser disappears close to the toolbar by the back & forth buttons, as it seems to for others.

New Toshiba Laptop with Windows 8 mouse disappears

I received a Toshiba Satellite Laptop for Christmas and it is running Windows 8. I started using it and it worked fine, but I started using Internet Explorer and the mouse froze, but I could still use my keyboard to get back to the start-page and move around with the up/down/left/right keys. My mouse was no where to be found on the start-page. I used the ctrl-alt-delete to log out, and then when the log-in screen came up my mouse reappeared and seemed to be working again. I logged back in and my mouse worked for a few seconds, then disappeared. I did the same things over and over again a few times, and either the mouse was nowhere to be found from the get-go, or it worked for a bit then disappeared once I started doing things. I shut down, and restarted multiple times. Any fix for this problem? If it is a Windows 8 problem I am very disappointing at the moment with the software Thank you, and happy holidays.

This may be the one i sold - but what we found was that the F5 key brought the mouse back . I am not sure how it happened in the first place. But F5 is "refresh" . this is a POOR choice for a function key that disables the mouse, since now to get the FUNCTION for f5, you need to press fn and F5 . If you hit just f5 like we used to, it will disable the mouse ... hmmmmmm. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Flash Player 10, mouse disappears

My wife's new laptop (an Acer) is running Windows Vista Home
Premium. She is using Internet Explorer 7. When she plays an online
game that uses Flash (example, Neopets) her mouse will frequently
disappear or vanish whenever she positions it over the "Flash" part
of the IE screen, make it unusable. Moving the mouse off the Flash
part of the screen results in the mouse reappearing, but she is
unable to return to the game.
All her Windows Updates are up to date, and she has
uninstalled/reinstalled Flash a couple of times, but no change.
Same thing happens in Firefox. Sounds like a Flash bug to me...but
can anyone suggest something else or a fix we can install? It's
quite frustrating.

Are you using 3.5 targeted for 10 or 4.x? If you moved to 4.x and are
embedding fonts, you have to set embedAsCFF=false in the @fontFace

If you have two displays set NOT to mirror, they are combined into one huge "extended desktop".
The most frequent problem with a disappearing mouse cursor in that case is that the cursor has moved off the edge of one display, and over to the other display.

10.4.9 and fast user switching - my mouse disappears!

Actually, the mouse doesn't disappear, but the cursor does. I am able to switch from my primary (administrator) account into a user account, and things run OK. When I log out of that account, though, the mouse cursor disappears. The mouse is still active, as I can move the mouse and click and access menus by trial and error, but the cursor will not become visible until I restart the machine.
I have repaired permissions, run Cache Out, and trashed the GlobalPref.plist file (which I'm told controls the mouse), all to no avail.
This never happened before the update.
Suggestions would be helpful

OK, solved my own problem, with the helpful suggestion from an Apple Genius in the Palo Alto store.
* In the secondary user account (the one that logging off from caused all the problems) pull the user/library/preferences file to the desktop
* Restart the machine
* Problem is now gone. I put back a handful of preferences for a few key applications like Mail, but left the rest alone, and will reset within the various applications
Very annoying to have to deal with, but at least the problem is gone.

Mouse disappearing

The last week or so every time I plug in my tablet (wacom bamboo tablet), the mouse cursor disappears. When I use the trackpad, nothing. When I use the tablet pen, nothing. I have to restart my laptop to get it to appear and work correctly again. Anyone have any idea what's going on or how to fix it?

Im using openbox as window manager, xorg-server, and nividia optimus drivers. Update was huge 700 mb, but probably the most important thing is xorg-server update, modesetting was deleted and include to xorg package i think. But i don't know if this is important. Issue is that the mouse cursor disappears when you move the top part of the screen, is not that partially hides the cursor just disappears completely.
If i move cursor 1px up, all disappear.

When adjusting names/artists,etc. = mouse disappears behind iTunes10 window

Now that I have iTunes 10, I have discovered that when I rename songs, artists, albums, genres, etc. that the mouse will disappear behind the iTunes window. This required that I move the mouse to the edge of the screen just to see it again, which can't be right, can it? Yeah, so if anyone else is having this problem hopefully it will get fixed in the next update.

Yeah, I have the same problem. Happens a lot. I usually just hit Alt and Tab twice real quick (to switch between my last used program and iTunes), and this makes the mouse cursor pop back up. Pretty dirty workaround, but it works.

Mouse disappears when is full screen

i am on 2 screens, when i put the laptop in full screen while watching a vid, the mouse goes after i click a few time on the other displays?

Found workaround for this problem on web.
1. right click on itunes on your desktop and go to properties.
2. click on compatibility tab
3. check box for "Disable display scaling on high dpi settings and apply.
You will get a warning when you open itunes now that display settings are now set to an older version or something like that but just hit ok....and now full screen video! Probably isn't quite as clear as it should be if apple fixed this problem (I mean come on I know there have to be a ton of us out here that use large lcds or plasmas as our monitors so why its not fixed beats me) but hey at least it works in fullscreen mode this way. The major problem with this workaround is that it makes it quite hard to see text and other things in itunes store because they are now quite small. So what Ive had to start doing is keep it on normal settings while I go into itunes, and do my searching and renting and buying videos, then close it, make the changes of the workaround and then reopen it so that I can watch in fullscreen. Yeah its a pain but it works.

My mouse disappears in Premiere CC

My mouse cursor keeps dissappearing as I work in premiere cc. It isnt the mouse as I tried several. I have to restart the project every few minutes. It seems to get worse with time. I am doing closed captioning so maybe that is part of it.

I'm having the same issue. It started when I was editing marker out points. I had been renaming the markers, then copying the in point from one to the out point of another. Restarting Premiere fixes it, until you go to edit markers again. Anywhere outside the premiere window works fine. Leaving the markers box has no effect, neither does selecting another clip for the source monitor.
I'm using CC 2014. System specs are:
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit
i7-4790
12 GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 5800 series
Wacom Intuos Pro tablet
I'm also using three monitors, Dell U2713H (primary - using display port), Dell 2209WA (secondary - DVI), Samsung LED TV (Tertiary - HDMI). I use premiere on the primary monitor, though I also tested it on the secondary and it did the same thine.

Laptop mouse disappears completely and gets stuck quite a bit

I bought laptop online in Feb 2014. Since begining I have issue with its mouse. It gets stuck at times and we have to click it repeatedly to get it working again. I also have tried toucing the screen but it starts doing its own actions. Please let me how we can fix this issue. Thank you.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP 15 Notebook and mouse freezing. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot the mouse and Touchpad sensitivities.
If you will go to the section on Adjusting TouchPad or ClickPad pointing sensitivities it should help resolve the issue.
If this does not I would go to the section that shows you how to restore the default settings of the Touchpad and mouse.

My mouse disappears while editing keyframes

For a while now I've been having this glitch happen. When in the Keyframe Editor of Motion and editing the keyframes, every now and then the mouse will vanish completely from the program. Changing programs to another open one brings it back, but then if you change programs back to Motion, the mouse vanishes again.
Everything's normal again once Motion has been restarted and it only seems to happen when editing keyframes.
Running Motion 4.0.3 on a 2 x 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 8GB RAM, Mac OS 10.6.7
Any thoughts?

First step would be to dump the preferences file for Motion. Look in your user name/Library/Preferences for it.
Restart Motion and a new file will be generated using default values.
