Mouse does not scroll

Why does the magic mouse does not scroll? It only works sideways. I went to the apple store and worked with their computers.

If you're still on 10.5 Leopard as your profile indicates then update to 10.5.8 and then apply this update.

Using safari 5.1.2 on a pc and mouse does not scroll any window

Hi, I just installed Safari on a PC version 5.1.2 and so far I prefer it over all the other browsers out there except for one major issue: any window I open will not scroll down or up with the mouse wheel. I have to drag the window bar up or down and its very annoying. Any Ideas?

mouse works fine on all other browsers ( IE, FF, Chrome) and inside windows and all games. but not in safari. i have to use the scroll bar on the far right side.
i was reading other posts and saw something called iFrames. do i need to installl iFrames maybe?

My mouse does not scroll after OS 10.9.2 update

Anyone else have a problem with scrolling in browser windows after this update?
Works OK in Finder.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me... mouse was working perfectly before the 10.9.2 update and ever since the post-update restart, the mouse scroll function doesn't work ANYWHERE --- not inside websites, not with Finder, not with Microsot programs etc...
And when I click the Bluetooth icon a gray dropdown appears saying "Bluetooth: Not Available"
Will try the restart now.

HT2404 After installing Mountain Lion, I get a message that speechsynthesisserver.app had an error and could not be installed. What does this mean? Also my mouse does not scroll up/down as it did before.

What is speechsynthesisserver.app? Twice I received a message from Mountain Lion that this could not be installed due to an error. Is this significant?

Regarding the scrolling, SYSTEM PREFERENCES>TRACKPAD>SCROLL & ZOOM, uncheck 'Scroll direction: natural.

HT1338 updated OS to Maverick, now magic mouse will not scroll. what happened?

I updated my OS to Mavericks latest, and now the magic mouse does not scroll...what happened? works through bluetooth, so I can move the cursor, but it will not scroll.
Can someone help me with this?

If your Magic Mouse is not scrolling, first go to the Mouse section of System Preferences and try toggling the "Scroll direction: natural" checkbox to see if it has an effect.
Scroll direction: natural:
Select this option to move the contents of a window the same direction as your fingers.

SQL Tab in Object Browser does not scroll when using a mouse.

In the Navigator tree on the left pane, when I expand the Table node under my connection and click on a table name, the object details tabs appear on the right. This is really neat and I like it.
One thing I noticed is that when I click on the SQL tab to retrieve the table creation script, the CREATE TABLE script appears in the read-only editor. When I try to use the mouse to select the text (hold down the left mouse button and drag down), that editor does not scroll, so that I can reach the end of the script.

Thanks I missed this. The issue is the double scrollbars. I checked in a fix but it will not in the new update later today but the next one.

Why does my mouse wheel not scroll pages vertically

I have a Logitech M310 mouse. Since version 20 of Firefox, I find that after I open a webpage, my mouse will scroll the page vertically, but after a time period (usually +/- 10 minutes)< the mouse will not scroll the webpage at all.
I have tried disabling all my plug-ins and extensions, turning off hardware acceleration, changing the mousewheel.enable_pixel_scrolling variable to false and generally every other "solution" I can find on the web.
I have changed the mouse, tried the same version of Firefox an another computer and still cannot find the answer. Can anyone please help?

First, see this discussion. If the solution suggested there doesn't work for you, continue.
If you've installed a Mail plugin called "Mail Unread Menu" and you know how to remove it, please do that, then quit and relaunch Mail. Test. Otherwise, see below.
Back up all data.
1. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/Bundles
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder may open, or you may get an error message that the item can't be found. Either result is normal. If the folder does open and has contents, move the contents to the Desktop. Relaunch Mail and test. If there's no change, put the contents of the folder back and quit Mail again.
2. Repeat with this line:
/Library/Mail/Bundles
This time you may be prompted for your login password when you remove the items. Make sure they're removed from the folder and not just copied to the Desktop. If necessary, copy them first and then move the originals to the Trash.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

We just added Maverick to our Mac and now the magic mouse will not scroll with finger tips!!

We just upgraded our system to Maverick. Now our majic mouse does not respond to the finger swipe at all.
Also the volume contro;s stopped working on the wireless keyboard.

My thinkpad bluetooth mouse will not scroll in firefox 7

My bluetooth mouse used to work in previous Firefox versions. Now it does not scroll at all. I have used the suggestions found when I researched this on your website with no luck.
I feel this is a Firefox issue as my mouse ''does'' scroll in Internet Explorer.

I have the same problem, the mouse is incompatible with Safari for Windows and MAC. I have instalkled the latest drivers and yet no joy. Switched to my old Logitech M305 and everything works fine. Also my MS Wheel mouse (Corded) works just fine too. After many tries the MS 4000 Wireless mous will not work with safari.
Why the incompatibility? It surely is software related and seems to be related to the mouse driver.

Mail does not scroll while in full screen!

When on full screen mail just ignores the fact that there's more stuff (text, pics...) in the email and does not scroll down. No bar on the side, no scrolling with arrows, touchpad or space bar is working. When I bring it back to a smaller size or just open the email in a sparate screen it works OK.
Not a huge issue, but an irritating one, wonder if this is happening to anyone else? and if anyone has a good fix to it?

I'm using doing :

Is there maybe something else I need to set to full screen
interactive? I know I saw somewhere that the person was setting the
htmlLoader's stage to full screen interactive. I tried that but it
did nothing.
I have the window style set to "system chrome". I tried
transparent and no flash sites worked(full or normal screen) and
opaque worked the same as system chrome.
