Mouse flickers on remote viewed workstation

Workstations are winXPsp2, using ZfD7sp1IR1--when remote viewing the
workstations the mouse cursor on the workstation being viewed flickers. If
set to poll full screen it flickers about once a second. If set to normal
refresh, and the target workstation is viewing a rapidly changing screen
(like an online game) the mouse flickers constantly. Is there a way to
overcome this problem? Thank you--Chris G

  • Allow end user to Remote Contorl or Remote View a workstation?

With ZENworks 7 we have certain operating room computers setup with remote
view capabilities to one specific workstation. These doctors needed remote
view capabilities to a computer that displays useful live medical
    information.
This was done by using the software called "ZEN Workstation Browser" which
avoids needing them to start ConsoleOne to initiate a Remote View session
and of course, privileges are all controlled within eDirectory.
Does anyone know if this kind of capability might be possible with ZENworks
11? Can an end user be given limited access to ZCC such that they only have
the ability to remote view a specific workstation?
We're starting to roll out our agents and I'm not sure how to deal with this
unique setup. Because multiple computers may view that one workstation,
using RDP is not an option.
    Thanks,
    Marc

    Marc Charbonneau,
Have you tried the ZENworks Remote Management viewer tool?
Else, then yes, you can give some users the rights to remote using the
    ZCC.

    Wyldkao,
if you have installed the plug-in, then there should be no message - if
you want to install it manually, click on Download ZENworks Tools in
ZCC, then go to Administrative Tools

  • Stand Alone Remote View

    Hello,
I have been searching for a stand alone remote viewer for Zenworks 7. I found a few applications that seem to have worked with Zenworks 4 and they don't really provide the functionality that I need.
I need to have a stand alone application that will be able to either view the container with the workstation objects or the ability to scan the network for the objects.
    Any ideas?

  • Right for Remote View Only?

    I am using ZfD3.2sp2 with ConsoleOne 1.3.5 or 1.3.6. I have a Help
    Desk
that I would like to grant Remote View of a group of workstations. I
    am
able to remotely control workstations as administrator. I have
    checked
Remote Operator tab and the users show with Remote View and I have
    granted
read right to the WM:Network Address property and write to the DM:ZEN
Remote View property of the Workstation object. I am able to ping the
workstation but receive a failure due to rights issue.
Can anyone tell me what rights I really need to allow a non-admin the
    ability to RC a workstation?
    Thanks,

  • Minimum rights for remote view/control

I am in the process of cleaning up rights in my eDirectory because our last Novell admin was quit liberal with assigning rights. What I need to know is what are the minimum rights needed to remote view a workstation and what the minimum rights needed to remote control a workstation. I have been searching Google and the forums for a while with no luck.

    Thanks for the quick response.
I ran through the wizard and then looked at rights it gave the account. It looks like the attributes are as follows:
    Remote Control:
    DM:Remote Control -- write
    WM:Network Address -- read
    Remote View:
    DM:ZEN Remote View -- write
    WM:Network Address -- read
The only thing I wanted to verify was, do I need to give those rights to the user objects as well as the workstation objects in order for this to work? I know some of the techs use C1 and right-click on the user, then select 'Remote Management'. Just not sure if I need to give rights to the user objects as well since the user will be logged in at the time the tech will be remote controlling/viewing.

  • Remote Control and Remote View Problem

    Hi,
I work at a High School running Netware 6.0 SP5 and Zen works 4.01 ir7.
Remote Control and Remote View works great but I noticed one problem.
We have a logo of the school that is forced down on to the desktop when a
user logs in through group policies. This logo works perfect for the
desktop wall paper and loads every time a user logs in.
When I Remote Control or Remote View a computer the users desktop wall
paper turns from the logo being forced down through group policies to the
desktop to a blue desktop wall paper.
I would prefer the desktop wall paper staying the schools logo when I
Remote Control or Remote View because if the desktop wall paper changes to
the blue color I mentioned above when I Remote Control or Remote View the
users computer, they will know that someone is taking over their computer
which sometimes we dont want them knowing.
We have Windows 98SE computer running Novell Client 3.4 and we have some
computers running Windows XP Professional SP1 and Windows XP Professional
    SP2 both running Novell Client 4.91 SP2.
The Remote Control and Remote View problem of the desktop wall paper
changing on the users computer occurs on all operating systems mentioned
    above.
Is there a solution to my above problem? When Remote Controlling and
Remote Viewing someone's computer I don't want the desktop wall paper to
    change.
    Thanks!

  • N8 as remote control and life remote viewer for wi...

I am going to buy wifi camera. I would like to use my N8 as remote control and life remote viewer.

  • Help networking a Security System DVR for remote viewing

    Hey,
I am trying to network my Security System DVR for remote viewing but cannot seem to get it working. I have read some post on this site as well as many others and followed instructions to the T but to no avail.
    Here's what I've got:
    Linksys WRT54G2 V1 connected to a modem.
My DVR has 3 settings for networking:
    -PPPOE
    -Static
    -DHCP
On DHCP, The DVR automatically sets these settings:
    IP Address: 192.168.1.100
    Subnet:  255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.1
and then the DNS is the same as the one on the "status" area of the router settings...
    Port: 10000-10020
I set up port forwarding for 192.168.1.100 for port 10000-10020 selecting "both"
If I pull up the "DHCP Clients Table" it shows the above IP Address but with no name....and the MAC address is something like ee:ee:ee:d4:03:5f.
I have tried to change the DVR to Static and do everything manually but thats not working either.
I created a Dynamic DNS with goddns.org but the DVR seems to have its own one built in that you cannot change. (at the bottom of the network settings it says something like "URL: 123484984.goddns.org----Status:  OK."  But when I try to type that in the address bar of IE it goes no where.)
I hope someone can tell me why its not working.... It was working when we first got everything set up...then it stopped. then I messed with it and got it working but didn't know what I did.  Now its broken again and I don't know what to do.
    -Ian
PS.  When I am connected to the router via LAN cable and I type the internal IP Address assigned to the DVR by the DHCP (192.168.1.100:10000) it brings up the DVR menu perfectly.  But when I try to log into it from a different location...with the external IP address...thats when I have trouble.  I do not think my external IP has changed since I got this router set up.
     Any help would be awesome.

Hmmm... Did that and I can't seem to get it working still. Whats weird is that as long as I am connected to the router...I can access it through the internal IP address.... (if using DHCP its 192.168.1.100:10000 and if using static its 192.168.1.99:10000)
Those both work when set up on DHCP for the first and Static for the second.  But as soon as I type the external IP address with the port it doesn't work.  Its like there is a firewall OR the port forwarding is not working.  But everything on the port forwarding page looks good... Its enabled, set on Both, correct port range... 10000-10020...
    Any Ideas?

  • WVC80N software "unable to set up remote viewing" with TZO

I've researched this all night and I'm now begging for help.
I've got the camera all set up and I can view it while on the local network.  The problem comes in when I try to sign up for the 90-day free TZO trial that comes with the camera to try to get remote viewing on my iPhone.  I progress through the Linksys setup software (as is detailed here: http://www.tzo.com/MainPageSupport/HowToPage/LinksysHomeMonitoringNCameraTutorial.html) and between steps 7 and 8, I get a screen that says "Unable to set up remote viewing" with my network, click this link to learn how to remotely view your camera.  The link takes me to a page on the TZO site that says "Oops, there was an unknown error with setting up you camern for remote access" and nothing else.  It seems to die on the "Configuring Internet Server" step.
Within the camera's setup page, there's a link to the TZO website that tells me that because I have a WVC80N, I have to use the setup CD to set up the 90-day free trial, which fails as described above.
I've set the camera to have a fixed IP of 192.168.1.200
I've set the Alternative Web Access Port to 1024
In Port Range Forwarding in the router, I've set 1024 to 1024 to forward to 192.168.1.200 (not sure exactly what this does)
    The router is a WRT160N
    Any ideas?

Have you tried getting in touch with TZO and set the DDNS up the old fashioned way?  I also know that TZO has a beta going on of a new IP camera application for remote viewing and this may also help.  Not sure why the setup is failing though, but oook is probably right, something wacky with the router, IP or ISP that the setup software just doesn't like.

  • Issue with folder in remote view

Ive just created a new web page which needs the use of a database so i saved my website under a separate name and tested it on MAMP first to make sure it all works. I then wanted to upload this to my live site, i did this by copying the new folder (admin)  and pasted it into my live site. I then uploaded them and tried opening the page from the live site but it wont open. (Please see image below.) The other thing i noticed is when i look at my files panel in 'local view' everything looks fine but when i look at it in 'remote view' the admin folder (which holds all the new files) doesnt look right, the folder appears as one file and is blank?

  • Cannot remotely view camera image of WCS54CGA

I have wireless camera WVC54CGA.  It is wirelessly connected to my Netgear router with WEP encoding.  I can view the camera image via the camera utility.  I can also view the image with my IE8 browser using the OCX plugin while at home.  However when I go to a remote WIFI hotspot to test remote viewing I am not able to connect to:
     http//----camera ipaddress--  .
I am using Comcast as my ISP.  The camera IP address always comes up as the same value when I power up.  So I do not believe I need to set up DDNS.  I had not done the following on my first remote test.
I now see comment s about setting up port forwarding in my router for ports 1024 and 80 and setting these ports for the camera.  Going into the router I added port forwarding for the http name with the camera IP address.  In so doing it selects 80 for the start and ending addresses.  I cannot seem to set up another port.  In the camera setup I set “Enable ” (for http/web connections).  It seemed to select port 1024.  I am not sure I am doing the correctly. Can some one help?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

When you login to the Camera Setup page, You need to click on the "Advanced Configuration", and then you need to click on "Options" tab. Under Options tab you will find "Alternate Port" By default it will be Disable, So you need to Enable it , and By Default the Port No will be 1024 and you need to click on Save Settings.
Now you need to login to the Setup page of your Router and click on "Application and Gaming" tab  and you need to Open the Port 1024 and 80 Pointing towards your Camera IP.
Under Application and Gaming Tab, you need to click on "Port Forwarding"
Application Name              Start Port         End Port        Protocol         IP address         Check BOX.
Camera                             80                      80                BOTH         Camera IP              Enable
Camera 1                         1024                  1024              BOTH         Camera IP               Enable
Now you can click on Save Settings...
Once you are able to the same page, You need to click on "Status"  tab and below you will fine your Internet IP (WAN IP) . So note down your WAN IP.
So using that WAN IP you can View your Camera from the Remote Location.
