Mouse gestures enabled by default???

Hey I'm getting kinda annoyed when I move my mouse the wrong way and firefox goes to the last page I visited. Now I have no idea how this mouse gesture got there, but I'd like to deactivate it. Its not a firefox gesture as far as I can tell and I never activated any desktop specific mouse gestures, so unless I accidentilly downloaded some kinda funky mouse thing with xorg (damn xorg 7 packages) I have no idea why it does this, but I'd apreciate any help I could get removing or dissabling it.

$ man pacman
NoUpgrade = etc/X11/xorg.conf
(0)[root@nasreddine ../config/home/wael/.wmii-3]# pacman -Qo /etc/X11/xorg.conf
error: No package owns /etc/X11/xorg.conf
As you see, xorg.conf is not provided by any package and thus the above code is completely useless...

  • Mouse gestures in X

i use mouse gestures in mozilla since mozilla 0.9.9 - very usefull!! (optimoz)
shortly i ran over an app for windows, that enables gestures for all apps available in windows: http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/
funny, but since i installed it, i start to like working in windows a little bit more (no more ctrl-c ctrl-v to copy/paste, running apps by simply draw M or W or E on desktop - cool!! that should be defaultly installed on every windows by my opinion (running commands in a OS, that do not have any usefull shell is horribly primitive, but gestures make it more "usable"))
as windows is not my normal desktop and is only used, when i do ebanking, it's obvious, that having mouse gestures in X would be the next step in making the desktop more usefull
    a little search resulted this:
    http://www.xstroke.org/
    http://gestures.sourceforge.net/

does anybody have any experience with one of them?

    cool, thanx for the link

he he ... i know absolutely what you mean: i also have a todo list that is more than 12kb big (well, "saving the planet" is also part of it, but i seriously plan to do this task once!!!)

ooh.. great, libstroke is on the way to extra :-)

  • Windows 7 mouse gestures don't work with DW and FW

I discovered that the mouse gestures don't work with Dreamweaver CS4 and Fireworks CS4 windows. When I drag a window to the right or left, nothing happen. The gestures words fine with all other programs, even Adobe programs like Photoshop or Lightroom. Can anyone help?

Thanks Robb. I tried those options but it didn't work, but I'm posting here the final resolution in case anyone else encounters the issue.
I had the local desktop support check out his PC and it turns out that the Windows 7 screen resolution was causing the issue. The only reason it was caught is because his desktop sharing software also was not working correctly.
Within the display settings Windows 7 allows you to display text/icons larger without changing the resolution. The user's display was set at 150%. After changing to 100% (default) the desktop sharing and Essbase double clicking are working.

  • Safari and Mouse Gestures

Safari does not have mouse gestures properties. It is hard and boring to use scrollbar all time.
    Please update our Safari-s.
I love Safari and I want to use it all time. Thank you

Problem solved; I reset NVRAM.  Annoying though.

  • Syslog not enabled by default in systemd setup

I installed Arch Linux from the 2012.10.6 iso, using systemd, and following the new, lengthy instructions.  Made separate partitions for /var, /boot, and /home.  Used btrfs on all of them.  The system works fine, so far, except that most of the log files are missing.  dmesg works.  I intend this machine to be a server, so it has php-fpm and Apache, but not X Windows.
This is what I have in /var/log:
    btmp  faillog  httpd/  journal/  lastlog  old/  pacman.log  php-fpm.log  wtmp
Where is messages.log?  Checking further, I found that the syslog (actually syslog-ng) service was never enabled.  Soon as I activated syslog, messages.log and the rest of the usual files were created.  Also, cron (cronie) was not enabled, which means no logrotate.  Even if I missed something in the instructions, shouldn't syslog and cron be enabled by default?
Issues like this have me wondering if systemd is such a good idea.  Making logging enabled by default ought to be easy enough to do, and shouldn't be a reason to back away from systemd.  But systemd has other issues.  It's Linux specific-- needs kernel features that are only in Linux.  So it won't work with FreeBSD.  From what I've read on LKML, the push towards systemd comes from the udev developers, who it seems are causing problems.  udev was not supposed to depend on systemd, and now it will.

  • UDLD enable by default on version 122-31.SG

    Hi,
[1] I would liket to confirm if UDLD is enabled by default on version 122-31.SG. I have 4506 equipments.
[2] What is the benefit of UDLD aggresive ? To my understanding the port will attempt to be up from error disable state 8 times. So is this good or bad ? ie) if the fiber is bad, then there is no use using the aggresive mode right ?
    Thank you,
    - sn -

    Sanjay,
    1. To answer your first question, it depends upon what kind of media and interface/global level.
UDLD global enable state - Globally disabled
UDLD per-interface enable state for fiber-optic media - Enabled on all Ethernet fiber-optic interfaces
UDLD per-interface enable state for twisted-pair (copper) media - Disabled on all Ethernet 10/100 and 1000BaseTX interfaces
Please refer the below URL for details:

    2. Please refer the below URL and this should answer your second question:

Please let me know if it helps.

  • BUG: Unable to send hotkeys from StrokeIt mouse gestures [to move CTI]...

I use StrokeIt to add mouse gestures to programs.  Because using mouse gestures can be faster than pressing hotkeys.  So I use StrokeIt mouse gestures to send hotkey commands to Audition CS5.5.  Everything is working fine except when I want to send hotkey commands to move the CTI.  Nothing happens when I try to send these hotkey commands: CTRL+left, CTRL+right, home, end.  This wasn't a problem back in Audition 3.  Can this be fixed so that the CTI can be moved by hotkey commands from StrokeIt?
BTW: I am currently able to workaround the problem of moving the CTI to the beginning by making StrokeIt send this hotkey command: CTRL+A, esc.  But I would still prefer being able to simply send the home key.

  • Mouse gestures in Sarafi 4?

    Hey there,
the only reason i'm not switching from Firefox to Safari is that i still couldn't figure out how to use mouse gestures. I just love to be able to close a tab just by making a mouse gesture.
I saw that there is the "Installed Plugings" menue entry so i was wondering if there is a mouse gesture plugin out there that i just couldn't find so far.
    Thanks for any hint,
    nice greetings

I would recommend xGestures. Works like a charm and is cheap. It gives you gestures anywhere, not only in Safari.

  • Java Runtime parameters- setting trace/log levels and enabling by default

    Hi,
I have a user reporting that a Java app that I support is unexpectedly quitting, and our developers are having trouble tracking down exactly what's causing the problem.
I'm trying to enable the maximum possible logging/tracing for this user, but I don't want to have to rely on them remembering to hit '5' on the console window to enable tracing on everything. Having read through the runtime documentation, I have added the following to my JRE runtime parameters:
-Xdebug  -Djavaplugin.trace=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect -Djavaplugin.outputfiles.overwrite=falseHowever, I still get nothing in the log file until I manually hit '5' on the Java console, then everything I do after that gets added to the log.
Does anyone know how can I get the maximum logging/tracing enabled by default as soon as the JRE is loaded?

    >>
    -Xdebug  -Djavaplugin.trace=true-Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic|net|security|ext|livec
    onnect
    -Djavaplugin.outputfiles.overwrite=false
    One problem is that -Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic
OR net etc ... pick one of the options which are
separated with pipe symbols or use "all" without
    quotes.
I'm having a similar problem with Java 6 - it seem
that nothing I put in the runtime parameters takes
    effect. I had to edit
    /home/USERNAME/.java/deployment/deployment.properties
and add deployment.trace=true.On second thought, I could be wrong about the trace options. I really don't know if you can combine options but I did see "all" somewhere.

In Windows I used to have a mouse seetting that automatically placed the mouse pointer over the default button in a dialogue box
Any suggestion for a mouse app for more settings ? is there a free app ?

You might try SteerMouse 4.1.5 or if all you want is this one feature then try LazyMouse 2.5.

  • Does Java has CLR checking enabled by default ?

    Hi,
I have java application hosted on TOMCAT.
I have a custom socketFactory which uses JSSESocketFactory internally in my application. RSA is ending the “RSA Root Signing Service” shortly so wanted to know if CRL check is enabled or not for my application. I am not setting any CRL checking explicitly via my code. So just wanted to know if CRL checking is enabled by default in JAVA?
    Thanks,
