Mouse hard to click

Just bought a new magic mouse after I dropped my old one. The old one, after the drop was hard to press to get a click. But now 4 days after using my new mouse it is also hard to click, no I did not drop this one. Any thoughts?

Your mouse is under warranty. Either call Apple tech support and/or take the mouse to your local Apple Store or an AASP.

Magic mouse not double clicking

Ever since I upgrade my iMac to Lion OS my mouse will not double click consistantly. I tried purchasing a new mouse thinking that my other mouse had a click problem but that didn't fix my problem. Anybody else having this problem? Any work arounds?

I tried this, too, thinking it would solve the problem. It didn't. In fac, it may have made it worse. So weird. I can click to select, right click and choose open, but I cannot double click to open a file or folder. This started AFTER I rebuild a Mac with a new hard drive and fresh install of Lion et al. Anybody have an ideas?

Y410P Touchpad hard to click

Apologies if this has been already asked but I haven't seen any issues on this after searching a couple hours. The buttons on my touchpad are getting harder and harder to click. I literally have to press full force and wait a second or two for it to register, it eventually does. I have attempted to modify the settings as well as installing the latest drivers and still not improving. So my question is, how can I fix this? Is it a debris issue that I can clean out? Or a bad sensor that I can replace? Or can I replace the entire trackpad? I really like my laptop and I don't use a mouse, so this is slowly becoming unacceptable. I appreciate the help!

This is sometimes caused by Bad Blocks on the Hard Drive.
If 10.7, hold down Command-R at startup, and choose Disk Utility.
If 10.6 or earlier, boot to the Installer/Utilities DVD, answer only the "what language" question and wait for the MenuBar to be drawn. Choose Disk Utility from the Utilities Menu.
Select your Hard drive by Make & Model and check the SMART Status (lower right of the right window). Choose "Repair Disk" . This ONLY examines and repairs the Directory area of the drive, but may improve things a bit. If errors cannot be repaired, you may need a stronger tool, or a new drive.

Sometimes I get no response when i right click...when i disconnect the mouse, then right click becomes active...but after using for long, right click becomes left click and left click acts normally. I need to figure out if the first mouse button is clicked or the 2nd mouse button is clicked.
it seems that there is a method that is suppose to return an integer value dpeneding on what button is clicked but I printed out what is being returned and it seems it keeps printing out 0 for both the first and second.
Here is my code:

I'm trying to detect Mouse Down or Click event outside of a TextInput element.
This doesn't work:

Hm... It's a custom TextInput component, I need to listen to this from inside it.
How does DateField or DropDownList do this? They close the DateChooser and List when clicking outside.

OK, what mouse are you using? Brand, model? Your right click should register as a right click unless that has been overridden by a preference pane. If your Mouse preference pane looks like this, your right click should be the equivalent of a control-left-click on a Mac.

T500 Hard Drive Clicking (tick tick tick)

This noise is dirving me crazy. I have a new laptop. Please refer to article below from a link that also mentions this noise problem and please provide solution.

Problem with hard drive clicking: sometimes described as a repeating tick tick tick type of ticking sound. The Hitachi Travelstar 5K80 series which shipped with many T series Thinkpads in particular is reported to suffer from this problem. The clicks occur rapidly, and are quiet but noticeable. While in use in a quiet environment the clicks can be relatively loud and very irritating to some users. The clicks seem to happen when the drive is idle and the power has been on for a significant period of time. The clicking is also reported on other vendor's laptop hard drives too and is therefore almost certainly a hard drive related rather than a laptop
chassis related.
The clicking sound appears to only occur when the drive is idle. Forcing the drive to be busy silences the ticking while the drive is busy. Launching programs that access the hard drive such as searching or defragmenting the drive helps for a time. Cycling the power on the hard drive such as through a full power off reboot of the system stops the ticking for the moment and has been used as a temporary solution. Also see use of hdparm for another way to reset the drive without a power off reboot.
Others recommend using Hitachi's drive feature tool to increase the acoustic management level, and/or set power management settings.

Have you tried Hitachi's Feature Tool as suggested? Hitachi has removed the acoustic management function in the latest version, but I think the power management setting is the one you want anyway. Set your drive for maximum performance / max power.

My mouse can not click to anything left, right or the middle mouse button does not work

I am using a 24 inch imac and the problem is suddenly my mouse can not click to anything left, right or the middle mouse button does not work i can see cursor moving and i can use the features of the keyboard but my mouse dies. I tried to plug in another mouse magic trackpad and my tablet but each has the same problem. I can not click to anything but cursor is moving and computer is not frozen. I have to shut it off from the power button when this happens. Do you have any idea what can cause this and how can i fix this?

Reset the SMC 2-3 times. Click Intel iMac SMC and PRAM resets for instructions.

Mouse requires multi click to work on envy 23

My envy 23 mouse is wireless but when I use it the left button requires multi click to work most of the time where a single click when you touvh something is all that is normally needed. It is as if there is no communication between the mouse and the computer however the light on the dongle is operating showing it is talking to the computer when I click. Any ideas for solving this please?

Try to re sync your wireless mouse to the pc.
How to sync you mouse -- remove the wireless reciever from the usb slot. >> plugg it back and hold the connect button for 10- 15 secs..
If this does not help then try the usb reciever on a different usb slot and resync your mouse..
Also try with a fresh set of batteries for your mouse..
If this does not help then you need a new mouse.. this can a physical problem with the mouse..

Mouse always double clicks

I have this problem, my mouse always double clicks. I tried searching the forum for a solution. I got only one result http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=73460, but i am not able to solve it. @Lich: Ya I'm using only one. I dont think its a problem with the hardware.
@ lolilolicon: Your solution did'nt work. Actually this has to be put in "Server Flags" section. If I make it true, my keyboard and mouse doesn't work. So i tried making it False, still not working.
can somebody tell me if there are two instances of mouse running, how can I find that?
