Mouse movement in Tablet mode on Twist

I got a new Twist a couple of days ago and am loving it so far, but I have found an odd problem that I was wondering if anyone else has seen. When in tablet mode, the mouse pointer will come up and start moving around the screen. I think it may be one of two things. 1. The ghost of my former laptop is haunting the Twist or 2. The keyboard/mouse is not disabled in tablet mode and the back of my screen is causing the movement when I am using it in tablet mode. Is there a setting to disable the keyboard/mouse intablet mode or am I the only one having this problem. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Hello Gooseman8433,
pls tell us your operating system and if its a factory or clean install.
Which version of Synaptics pointer driver do you use?

  • Cursor moves when in tablet mode (screen touching the pointing stick on an X220T)

    Hi there,
when I put my X220T in tablet mode, the screen moves just enough to move the pointing stick in the middle of the keyboard to cause the cursor to move. I can't rest my hand on the screen without causing the cursor to move all the way accross the screen.
Am I missing a driver that would disable the nub when the screen is turned over it, or is this a design oversight? I've got the latest BIOS.
    Cheers,

  • Windows 7 (x64) taskbar not working after using digitizer in tablet mode. x61t.

    Hi,
I have Windows 7 professional x64 on my thinkpad x61t. I updated all drivers from windows update and also from lenovo.com. So far it's been about two weeks with no problems. But when I started using tablet mode (fold) for lecturing a class (clone video output) in tablet mode, the taskbar stops responding to my clicks. No error message or anything, but I just can't press the start button or anything on the taskbar using a stylus. The point on the screen moves and follows my digitizer/mouse correctly, but I can't press anything. The keyboard works though, so I can restart the computer to get it back working. What could be causing the problem?
I've tried installing lenovo-wacom dual touch driver, but it only caused more problems, so I had to remove it and use the windows update driver.
    x61 tablet / multitouch / 3GB Ram / intel wifi / bluetooth

Workaround: Press 'Control + Alt + Del' to open task manager, and click 'Cancel'.
Stylus worked okay during teaching using Onenote. The problem starts when I start clicking the start menu and try opening other programs while in tablet mode. Once the loss of pointer, the only thing works is the keyboard.
I found a workaround for this. Press 'Control + Alt + Del' to open task manager, and click 'Cancel'. Then you can gain control again, at least until the next time you loose mouse/tablet control.
I currently have hotkey driver and sound driver (final driver for win7). For system interface driver / tablet button driver / tablet shortcut menu, I installed beta drivers. All other drivers were updated through Windows Update.
I'd appreciate if anyone finds a fix for this problem.

  • Yoga 13" - Touch Pad not disabled in tablet mode/F6 No longer works.

I have updated all of my drivers from the Lenovo Yoga 13" site.  I read on here to pay special attention to the Synaptics driver, mine is 16.2.21.4 from Synaptics.  When I flip in to tablet mode my mouse moves around when I touch it.  Also the F6's "disable touchpad" doesnt work.
Its really annoying to not be able to use it as intended.  Anyone have a fix for this?

    hi OmegaNine,
    Sorry to hear what happened,
    1. Can we Try this,
Go to Control Panel / Programs and features/ uninstall a program
Look for the Synaptics Software, Uninstall it there.
    2. Go to Device Manager and look under "mice and game controllers" and make sure it does not say Synaptics there.
If it Does Uninstall it as well and put a check on the box if it asked "delete driver software"
If the system did not asked you for a restart, Restart the system Manually.
Open Device Manager again and open the category Sensor
      like on this photo
         http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/wiisensor/wiisensor11.png
Uninstall everything under Sensors but DO NOT put a check on the delete driver Software.
    Restart
    Download and install this driver
Synaptics TouchPad Driver for 64-bit Windows
Restart after installation and Check if You still have the Issue.
    Hope this helps

  • Two "cursors" when in tablet mode

    X61 tablet, Windows 7, RC1, 64 bit. , pdfannotator, onenote, office
When using the the tablet in tablet mode (screen folded down), I often will get two cursors on the screen when the pen is near or on it.  This happens in various application software, but usually begins after using the eraser, or the flyout keyboard and tablet input menu.
The extra cursor appears above, and to the right of the actual cursor. Actual cursor being a pen tip "dot" while the extra cursor is a random symbol, ranging from another offset dot, to a very dark right click ring, to a very dark hourglass, to an i-beam shaped bar.  It happens immediately when using grahl's pdf annotator, but has showed up in other programs as well including onenote, after using the flyout input panel in word, and a number of other programs.
I'm certain it has something to do with the tablet multitouch drivers, escpecially since the drivers for 7 seem to be a wacom dual-touch driver not designed specifically for the X61.  Anyone else run into this trouble and come across a solution?

This is what Microsoft Support told me to do, and it worked, but I am stuck with a boring standard mouse cursor in Windows (no special Tablet PC cursors - for right click, etc.)
    Step 1:
    1. Open Local Group Policy Editor:Run... gpedit.msc
    2. Navigate to User Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Tablet PC - Cursors
    3. Enable the Turn off pen feedback setting.
    Step 2:
Go to Control Panel. Double click on Mouse. Find "Mouse Properties"
Go to "Pointer Options". Put a check mark in the "Display Pointer trails"
Slide the bar over to "short". Apply the changes and then restart PDF Annotator.
I'm awaiting Microsoft's reply as to whether there is some way to keep my original cursors without having the PDF Annotator problem.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - Frequent issues after Tablet Mode and Suspend in Windows 8.1

    Hi,
I bought a Yoga 2 Pro running windows 8.1 in December 2013. The machine runs fine, but from the beginning I experience frequent system issues whenever I have the Yoga in Tablet mode (display turned to the back).
The issues sometimes arise directly after I resume from tablet mode. More frequent the issues appear once I had the machine in tablet mode and after had it in suspend mode!
Some of the frequent issues that arise after I resume from tablet mode:
Power surge at right USB Port, where I have my mouse connected! The connected device cannot be provided with enough power. (Note, the left port still works), or
WiFi not working any more (No WLAN device detected, WLAN not functional), or
Bluetooth not working (No Bluetooth device detected, BT not functional)
All issues reliably disappear with a system restart!
I have already updated my drivers, scanned the Lenovo and Microsoft forum whether this is known without success and hope this avenue will bring me more luck.
What makes the bug hard to narrow down is that I do not have a recipe to reproduce the error. Not every time I turn the display in tablet mode the symptoms are equal! But what I can is that the tablet mode is the most common denominator I found so far.
    Any helped/suggestions much appreciated.
    Regards
       Florian

Yea, great... it seems like these articles and suggestions come up in the forum, and then there is always someone that says "it didn't work but this solved it for me" which ammounts to setting the screen at full brightness all the time.   LENOVO, HOW ABOUT FIXING THE ISSUE!!!  It definitly has something to do with power, in my case _the only_ thing that fixes it is either plugging in a power cord or closing the screen, reopening it and hitthing the power button to turn it back on (both are REALLY annoying if you're trying to get work done).
I'm a fairly experienced IT guy, and I used to swear by _IBM_ Thinkpads and related laptops, then when they went to Lenovo a few years ago it seems like the support has gone to hell and the hardware appears nice but is sketchy (this thing should have never shipped with this display problem or the wifi card issues that it shipped with).   Honestly if issues like this don't get resolved Im not likely to order any more, ever.  Not for my self or for my organization, we will stop persueing contracts with you and certifying the hardware for our work (though with the lenovo purchase it was deemed that the hardware wasn't certifyable for certine applications anyway).  Yes, that will cost you a few thousand sales a year, which is  a drop in the bucket for you, but I'm sure I won't be the only one.

  • How can I stop coalescing of mouse move/drag events in jdk1.6 ?

    Hello all,
My application uses a [pen-based tablet|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_tablet] to draw lines/curves. But the problem is: when I run my application, due to java’s default behavior of discarding the mouse events which occurs during the repaint call, the curves results in the set of joined straight lines.
To overcome this problem, when searched over net, came across below link:
I tried the option provided at the above URL i.e. overriding the below method of Component.java file:
    protected AWTEvent coalesceEvents(AWTEvent existingEvent,AWTEvent newEvent);
But later found that, overriding this method worked fine for me for jdk1.5 but this solution did not work in case of jdk1.6. When reviewed the source of Component.java and EventQueue.java files in jdk1.6, found that this method is not having any implementation and simply returns “null” and the complete handling of coalescing of events occurs within EventQueue.java file’s local method which is mentioned below:
    private boolean coalesceEvent(AWTEvent e, int priority);
As this method is part of EventQueue.java and also it is a private method, I am not finding any way to stop the coalescing of mouse move/drag events in jdk1.6.
The main problem is that my application is purely based on jdk1.6 only.
Can anybody help me out to solve this problem by providing any option of preventing the coalescing of mouse move/drag events in case of jdk1.6.
    Thank you.

I saw the other post you mistakenly made before you edited it. Not really a big deal, I was just wondering why you did that.

  • CS3 Ext. Vista 64 jerky mouse movement

    Hi there,
I have a huge problem with my 32 Bit Photoshop CS3 Extended under the operating system Windows Vista Business 64 Bit and don't know if this is a known problem or has to do with the 64 Bit or something. I don't know what to do more so I ask here in hope of some help.
The problem: When I use the f-key to switch to a mode where the image uses the whole space behind the tool paletts and use the space-key to switch temporarily to the move tool to move the image around, my next mouse movements with click actions will be really jerky.
To explain this further more imagine you are on a deep zoom level inside an image, using the polygon lasso to mark an object exactely, there's often the situation where you come to the border of what you can still see and what you can't see anymore. Here you'd use space and move the window a bit in the direction you want to continue marking the object. When I do that (in fact after the first time i do that) I see that the whole processing of generating those marking points with the lasso gets really jerky as if the pc is studdering. It is not possible to work fluently and/or fast this way. As you can see from my speccs (see further down for details) pc speed is no real issue here. Other things like GPU-heavy games (e.g. Crysis) don't show any studdering.
Things I already tried to no success:
    1) deactivated version cue
    2) bumped the memory that Photoshop may use from 2.5 GB to the maximum of about 3.5 GB. Windows still has plenty of memory left for itself as Photoshop seems to have a border here that windows itself hasn't.
    3) deactivated GPU-Support temporarily
    Some more information:
    1) Windows and Photoshop are on their newest versions/patches.
    2) There is no emulation software and no Nero installed.
    3) The file I'm testing this with is newly made (ctrl-n) in a resolution of 1280x1024 @ 300 dpi plain white. This shouldn't be extremely large.
    4) Computer speccs: Intel Core i7 920 @ 4000 MHz, 6GB DDR3-1600, Geforce GTX 285 Black Edition, Watercooling for processor and north-/south-bridge and condensators. The whole system resides on 2 500GB Samsung Spinpoint F1's that run in raid 0 mode for speed purposes. Partitioning is done so that the operating system, programs, data, temp-files, photoshop swap file, windows swap file (and some more partitions) are each on separate partitions.
    5) CPU/GPU temperatures are on nice levels (about 50°C each) and at least what I see from the CPU usage all 4 CPU-cores are getting bored during all this (less than 10% usage each).
    6) This is nothing that is limited to the polygon lasso tool: If i use the clone stamp tool or a brush I get the same problem after moving the image around with the move tool on a higher zoom level.
    7) I didn't have this problem on my old pc with Athlon 64 4000+ single core with 2 MB RAM and Windows XP Prof. 32 Bit. Furthermore I haven't seen my new pc without that problem so far. So the problem exists from the beginning.
Any help is much appreciated! I hope I made myself as clear as possible. If there are questions on your side please ask.
    Kind Regards
    Steve

Yes, of course the guarantee is solely on the vendor's part. They give 5 years of guarantee on the hardware as they build them together.
That is an interesting information with CS3 and multi-core-systems. I shall google that and see what information I find about it. Thanks for the remark.
I'd be more than happy if some folks here could bring some more light in the 64Bit-RAM-size-scratch-disk-issue and how it affects CS3-behavior. Would be really helpful.
Right now it should be (almost) like this: Vista gets about 2.5GB of RAM, Photoshop gets about 3.5GB of RAM, that is if Photoshop would take it (I'm not sure if it does although I configured it to do so). Being able to use the whole 6GB of RAM was the reason to use a 64Bit OS.
EDIT: I found a test with dual-core and quad-core systems with Photoshop CS3. The operating system seems to be 32 Bit though. It seems that CS3 doesn't scale very well with 4 cores. It uses 2 apparently but cannot make use of more. But anyway as I said: My old PC with a speed of 2.4GHz (single core Athlon 64 4000+) whose clock-speed is not directely comparable to my i7's 4GHz because of efficiency did the job without studdering. It had only one core that was much (!) slower than any single core on my i7. Even if the multi-core cannot be used from CS3 one would think that it had to run faster with the i7. In my opinion it must have something to do with either the 64 Bit OS or the raid0. The partions were no issue on the old machine (although I used multiple HDDs in the past so Windows and Photoshop were on the same HDD on different partitions but the scratch disks were on another).

  • Does the TM2 tablet mode need some buttons?

TM2 is my first tablet and so far I love it.
One of the reasons I wanted a tablet is because I spend a lot of time post processing photos using GIMP.
It didn't occur to me before but now I have the device I realise there is no easy way to access the shift and control keys when in tablet mode. Obvious I know, but I just didn't consider it, just was concentrating on how much easier it would be to draw on a tablet with a pen rather than using a mouse with my desktop.
The shift and control keys (and ALT key comes to that) are often used to modify the behaviour of the GIMP tools . To ensure lines are drawn straight for example.
Seems to me that this would be general requirement for most tablet applications so wonder why no buttons to simulate these keys?
More importantly, anyone know of a workaround?

  • Capture border, mouse movements and screen area showing incorrectly

I'm using Captivate4 on Win7 Pro 32bit to record a web demonstration on IE8. Setting the capture area only records a portion of the selected area, and portions outside (and including) the red boundary line. Mouse movements and clicks are also off. I've disabled hardware acceleration and tried a few different screen resolutions.
This occurs in every recording mode and in every capture arrangement - application, predefined, or custom size. Full screen recording captures the correct area, but the slides are very large and cursor actions are still off. The border disappears when Hide is checked, but the area captured is still completely different from the area selected.
I've included screenshots of both the capture area selected and the actual area recorded.
If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it - thanks in advance!
    Area selected for recording:
Area captured during recording - cursor out of place, overlap on the left, missing area on right and bottom:

Change your computer screen resolution to match what you set in Captivate, and you will capture everything.
I had to change mine from 1920x1080 (on a 13" laptop) to 1280x720 which is the maximum in Captivate. As soon as I did that, the entire screen was captured as intended.

  • Jumpy mouse movements on Asus netbook

Just installed FF 4.0 and using it on an Asus netbook 1101HA. Whenever I use the mouse on a website, the mouse moves erratically, noticeably erratic. This problem is not apparent in any other app. (I'm using the mouse pad and not an external mouse.)

    Hi Rod,
we are working on this with our team, and here are some interesting things we found out:
We uploaded a non-scorm course  on Moodle and it works smoothly. In Captivate every page will  communicate with the LMS for bookmarking and reporting. Maybe for that  reason the animations are not smooth. With this observation we are  trying to play around with the layers in Captivate to see if it brings  any difference.
Here is the link to the non-scorm course: http://mytechschool.com/moodle/file.php/101/Multi%20Color%20Pen%20-%20v1.38.htm
The communication that occurs on each slide is causing the jumpy mouse /  slow mouse movements.  Is it possible to fix it by modifying / adding javascript  into the HTML wrapper so the SCORM package didn't send the results until  the end of the assessment?
    How can we do this?
Here is the moodle post where they provided javascript  code to accomplish this task.  Unfortunately, when this code is used, it  doesn't record the results in the gradebook.  We could use help from  the Adobe community to modify this code so it records the results in the  gradebook while avoiding a jumpy mouse.
    http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=79349#p804524\
    TIA.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Frozen PB After 3 Restars - Mouse Moves Everything Else Fozen- HELP!

    Hello Everyone,
My Powerbook in non-responsive, even after 3 restarts.
I was working in a word doc, when everything just froze. Word, finder, I couldn't click on any folder or buttons. This has never ever happened before in the last 4 years i've had macs.
I restarted the PB by holding the power button as nothing else would work.
It restarted and automatically logged into the account. The mouse moves and that's it. Everything else is frozen.
I can't click on anything to open it, when i got down to (any application) the name appears, but when I click it nothing happens. I've restarted the Powerbook three time, and its still the same.
I'm starting to panic, as I have two major assingments on it, which are due in on Monday and i don't have backups (just started them yesterday).
    Thanks for any information.
    PS.
I'm using my neighbours WinXP computer to send this. I'll go back home and check what the PB is doing. I should have brought it with me.

First thing to try is to restart from the original installer disc and use the "Repair Disk" function in Disk Utility to check for any problems. Another thing to try is the Apple Hardware Test. If you have a copy of DiskWarrior then this will be a good time to run it.
As you do not have a backup of your data, there is a chance that you might lose everything if it turns out that the problem is a failing (or failed) hard drive. Therefore you might want to consider using FireWire Target Disk Mode to see if your PowerBook's hard drive can be accessed from another FW-equipped Mac. If it can be accessed, then use the opportunity to backup your data immediately.
