Mouse moves both cursor AND screen

This is something new, and it just started a few minutes ago for no reason that I can see. It's simply that when I move my mouse, the whole screen moves. The cursor moves as it should, but the screen moves in the opposite direction from the cursor. I can still manage to operate the computer, but it is much more difficult to do so.

In System Preferences > Trackpad > your preferences should look like this screenshot. If they don't then some 3rd party driver is conflicting. The most common conflict is USBoverdrive.

Event Precedence - Mouse Move or Cursor Move on Graph?

Since LabVIEW 8+ introduced cursor events (grab, move, release), is there a conflict that would occur between a mouse move event and cursor move event since a cursor move involves a mouse move? Or, since the cursor move requires the left mouse button to be down, does that allow LabVIEW to differentiate which event is occurring? I have some code I am writing to draw a box on an intensity graph (using the new plot.images property for graphs) so as to extract a region of interest. At first, I want a cursor to follow the mouse as it moves over the graph. Then, I want to draw the box region when I grab the cursor (with left mouse key down) and drag it. Differentiation of these two event types will allow me to unambiguously accomplish this task.

Moving a cursor will interleave mouse move and cursor move events.
However, you can easily keep state of mouse up/down to distinguish what to do in this particular case. See attached draft (8.20).

X200t screen flickers when mouse moves off the right screen edge in secondary landscape orientation

I just got my 1st lenovo tablet pc (x200t multi-touch w7 32bit). However, my first experience is not so smooth.
I am having a screen flicker issue in secondary landscape mode (not the default landscape mode) whenever I move my mouse beyond the right edge of the screen. From the symptom, it seems like Windows 7 didn't stop the mouse from moving out of the screen, and hence Windows 7 tries to redraw everything from the top up to the cursor repeatitively (i.e. flickering)
In other orientation, the mouse is actually stopped before moving out of the screen because I can still see the edge of the cursor when I move to far right.
Does anyone know of a solution? If not, I would like to know if anyone else experience this issue. You can reproduce this by
1. rotation the screen orientation until buttons on the screen is at the top of the screen (i.e. the secondary landscape orientation)
2. move your move beyond the right edge of the screen.
3. screen starts to flicker

Movies to ipod and screen problem.

I gave my husband an Ipod touch for Christmas . Is there a way, legally, to put one of his DVD films onto it for use when travelling ? Does he need other software ?
Also, after he has taken the ipod out of itunes his computer screen flashes on and off and he can't restore his screensaver. he has a Mac running Tiger and with the intel.
There wasn't much in the way of info came with the package. Any ideas, please?

The flash is not an alert. The desktop changes to a black screen with some white writing in the top left corner. This goes back to the desktop before we can read it. touching the mouse stops the flash for a few minutes but only choosing sleep stops it.
The screen saver function on the mac will give us the test but that's all.
We buy music from itunes and would have no problem with buying movies if we could get them but we can't. We get the window that we can't have movies except in the US.
The Mac World article looks interesting and I have also found that just googling" itune movies " throws up some interesting sites. I don't know how safe, reliable or legal they are.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Stream Notebook and not getting past HP Logo on startup. Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.

How can I move both files and ratings to another computer?

On my desktop, I didn't let iTunes manage my music as my desktop is old and the c drive has limited space. I have backed up the music and I have also saved the iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml files in the hope of being able to transfer my music to my laptop and retain all ratings information I've spent so much time setting up.
I've copied all music from my desktop to my notebook under the iTunes Music folder. I've also copied the .xml and .itl files. In iTunes I'm happy to see that my ratings info has been preserved but iTunes cannot seem to find my files. I've made sure that my iTunes music folder is correctly set. I've also tried to manually change the g:\ reference for file locations in the xml file but it seems this doesn't help because as soon as I open up iTunes again it sets everything back to the g:\ location. How can I fix this without manually pointing every song to where it now lives on my laptop?

PS Even worse is that I tried the consolidate library function on my desktop and now my desktop is in the same boat. Can't find the files unless I manually point to where they are.

My daughter has a g4 and just the other day for no apparent reason, the desktop seems to be about 10-15% too big for the screen. when you move the cursor, the screen/display moves around as the cursor moves. As you aproach the edge of the screen with the cursor, the desktop picture actually moves in the opposite direction to give access all the way to the edge. it's kind of strange.... I have tried to adjust any settings that I could find. It is set at the highest resolution. Lower res just makes things bigger and fatter.....

Trying to get a movie clip to go both up and down depending on which button gets clicked

I have a file with 5 movie clips in it. I have a button that when clicks, plays each one. One of the movie clips needs to move both up and down and I am having a lot of trouble with this.

Well, on the mc_data movie clip, I had the animation going up and down with stop actions to stop it. so I put labels on those areas and tried to just control it that way. Seemed simple enough, but not working.
I really don't know how to control the toggle up and down in AS without using the timeline....just trying to help a friend, and ready to scream..I thought this would be so simple...
would be easier to explain if I could show you a dummy file...but I still don't see an attach button????

MacBook Pro 17" Cursor and Trackpad Issues

I'm a long time Mac user. I bought a new MBP 17" last December and I have had continual issues with the cursor and track pad. Issues like:
1. Selection accuracy. I place the cursor on top of the link or text I want to select and it doesn't select. I move the cursor off the target a little and it works.
2. Cursor "submarining". I move the cursor and it disappears for a bit then reappears. This happens all the time when I'm inputting data into forms.
3. Bad "tactiles". Moving the cursor using the trackpad does not have the same tactile sensation of my older 15". It feels jumpier, not as smooth, not nearly as accurate.
4. Cursor jitters. Sometimes the cursor will shake like it has the jitters.
Anybody else experiencing this? Is it bad hardware? Bad OS. Or just bad juju?

I have a workaround. I bought the Logitech VX Nano mouse and it works perfectly. Big difference using it and the trackpad. Seems to me that with the 17" at 1920 X 1200 resolution the trackpad doesn't have enough granularity to navigate that amount of territory. Is this a design/engineering flaw with the 17" in 1920x1200 resolution? Anyways this ***** - now I have to haul a mouse with me.

Display Jitters with Mouse movement. Any ideas?

Cinema 23 HD Display jitters with mouse movement.
This just started happening. I don't know what's causing it, but my display jitters back and forth with mouse movement. Left and right. As I move the mouse the screen moves two pixels to the right or left when I move the mouse. After 2 pixels it stops.
Very irritating.
I don't have any extra displays to determine if its the card or the display.

Sounds like you may have accidentally turned on "Zoom".
Open System Preferences/Universal Access. Turn off "Zoom", and things should be normal again.

What's the easiest way to move app data and data structures to a server?

I've been developing my app locally with Apex 4.2 and Oracle 11g XE on Windows 7. It's getting close to the time to move the app to an Oracle Apex server. I imagine Export/Import is the way to move the app. But what about the app tables and data (those tables/data like "customer" and "account" created specifically for the app)? I've been using a data modeling tool, so I can run a DDL script to create the data structures on the server. What is the easiest way to move the app data to the server? Is there a way to move both structures and data in one process?

There's probably another way to get here, but, in SQL Developer, on the tree navigation, expand the objects down to your table, right click, then click EXPORT.. there you will see all the options. This is a tedious process and it sucks IMO, but yeah, it works. It sucks mostly because 1) it's one table at a time, 2) if your data model is robust and has constraints, and sequences and triggers, then you'll have to disable them all for the insert, and hope that you can re-enable constraints, etc without a glitch (good luck, unless you have only a handful of tables)
I prefer using the oracle command line EXP to export an entire schema, then on the target server I use IMP to import the schema. That way, it's near exact. This makes life messy if you develop more than one application in a single schema, and I've felt that pain -- however -- it's a whole lot easier to drop tables and other objects than it is to create them! (thus, even if the process of EXP/IMP moved more than you wanted to "move".. just blow away what you don't want on the target after the fact..)
You could use oracle's datapump method too.
Alternatively, what can be done, IF you have access to both servers from your SQL developer instance (or if you can tnsping them both already from the command line, you can use SQL*PLUS), is run a script that will identify your apex apps' objects (usually by prefix to object names, like EBA_PROJ_%, etc) and do all the manual work for you. I've created a script that does exactly this so that I can move data from dev to prod servers over a dblink. It's tricky because of the order that must be executed to disable constraints and then re-enable them, and of course, trickier if you don't consistently prefix ALL of your "application objects"... (tables, views, triggers, sequences, functions, procs, indexes, etc)

Why does added text disappear when I move the cursor

After adding text to an unprotected .pdf file the text disappears when I move the cursor and want to add a second box of text. The text in the first box reappears when I double click on the space where the box was. How do I set the text so that it remains visible and printable?

One option is to ask the user to fill the file again using Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

I just upgraded to iMovie 10.0.1, latest release and need to move my projects and events to an external attached hard drive. i do not see any hard drive icons in this release. How do I do this?

I just upgraded to OSX Mavericks and also the lastest release of iMovie. The version says 10.0.1, but is it the latest release as of 10/14/2013. I need to free up disc space on my iMac hard drive and move the contents of iMovie libraries to an attached external drive already functioning on my system. I need to move both events and projects and keep all intact and related. I have seen disc drives in the previous version of iMovie, but I do not in this one. How do I move these items? I am in desperate need for disc space.

You can create a brand new Library under File Menu>Open Library>New...
Create the new library on the external hard drive. Then drag all the Events/Projects folders into that Library. Close the Library, quit iMovie 10.x. Now test the new Library by opening iMovie again and see that all the Events/Projects are there in the New Library. You can now safely delete or close the exisitng Library file as those are now duplicates of the real Library sitting on the external hard drive.
Another way to do this is find the exisitng Library file, and simply drag it to the external hard drive in the Mac Finder (disk to disk copy of the Library file, by drag and dropping). Then go back into iMovie, File Menu>Open Library>Other... then naivgate out to the external hard drive and choose the Library you moved within the Finder.
The new iMovie 10.x is much more friendly to use the Finder to run and gun and move stuff at will. It used to be the case the Library file had to be completely managed within iMovie and doing Finder copies would break them. Now it's more flexible in that it works the way most people used to think it should work (doing drag and drop in the Finder)
