Mouse moves on its own

hey,
does anyone have the same problem?
my mouse on the screen moves on its own and presses random buttons:( so annoying
I haven't had this computer even a year and its giving me a problem.
I use logitec wireless mouse. is there anything i need to set up in the preferences?
thank you

There are several possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps until it's resolved.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article.
2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check for unknown or forgotten input devices. Disconnect any USB input devices that you aren't using.
3. Boot in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you reboot as usual, stop here and post your results. If you can't boot in safe mode, do the same. If you booted in safe mode and there was no change, go on to the next step.
4. Reset the System Management Controller.
5. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
6. A swollen battery in a MacBook Pro or Air can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced.
7. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built in trackpad of a MacBook to  behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
8. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
9. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
10. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.

About 2 months ago I bought a new macbook pro and over the last couple of days it has produced all these problems!
The screen jolts and freezes and only has gradual movement and zooms in and out on a page and the mouse also freezes and moves on its own.  This usually happens when I am on the internet.
Its happened twice now where it works perfectly fine and then all of a sudden it happens.
Has anyone else had this before? Is it a virus?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!

My macbook pro is running very slow with some strange mouse and window movements. The trackpad is very unresponsive and when responding the cursor moves on its own and/or very erratically. When on safari the window suddenly zooms in or highlights words and looks them up via dictionary. I currently have a wireless mouse connected and I am still having the same problems.
I fee like I may have a virus or my laptop is perhaps being accessed remotely. All of the sharing options are unchecked.
    HELP PLEASE
    Very worried!!

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).

  • Trackpad mouse moving on its own and creating new folder on desktop

This stared a few weeksd ago, I've lost control of my macbook pro as my mouse has a mind of its own.
The laptop barely(or even not at all) responds to my control.  It's like there was somebody else controlling my mouse, my keyboard works fine however.  The guy hacking me looked at my mailbox, dropped a few things from the dock, made a new folder on the desktop and opened my photos.  I've tried everything including  turning off wi-if, my reuter and under "system preferences" unclicked "sharing" of anything. I also took it to the genius bar to have my laptop wiped and updated to OS X Mountain Lion.
Last week, my mouse again started to move on its own and created a new folder on my destop.
I don't know if anyone has the same experience...and if so, please let me know what is going on and is there a solution?
    Thank you

Woah, I just got this really sketchy email a few hours later. It's a bounce back from an invalid address, but it includes the previous few messages too... these guys are definitely speaking in some sort of code.
I pasted it on this google doc for your inspection, pretty crazy. Do you think it could be related to this cursor moving incident? Did I get remotely hacked or something?

Thank you for your help, but I believe my questions remains unanswered -- mainly, because my English isn't the good.
    Here's what I am asking:
    1.  I need something that is animated that blinks or flashes to alert the viewer to scroll down the page.  I would put the wording:  Scroll Down for more (and then an arrow blinks or gently moves up and down to alert the user to move down).
    2.  is there a way that the entire homepage on it's own moves downward?
    Sorry for my poor English.

created by The Arthematics in Help with using Adobe Muse CC - View the full discussionIf I understood correctly. You can place arrows on each section of the page and use "fade-in" and "fade-out". And maybe you want this widget Anchor + – Adobe Muse Widget Directory to automatically scroll down. • IPad 3 brightness slider moves on its own.

The slider of the brightness slider moves on its own, past the 50% mark that I set it to.
The only way to stop it, is to switch the Auto feature OFF.
Is this a bug is iOS6 or a way by Apple to provide the optimal display brightness for
colour saturation, etc under the actual lighting conditions?
    Regards

I would love to agree with that, but it happens when Im actually using it. I would love to say its the app I was in too, but it has happened while in different apps. Nook app, Simpsons Tapped Out app, Clumsy Ninja, Safari. I will be scrolling or touching the screen for whatever reason and off it goes.

  • How to record mouse movements?

    Hello,
I have the most updated version of Mac OS on my 2014 Macbook Air. Is there a program I can use to record my mouse strokes and clicks? I am doing a repetitive task and would like for the mouse to move on its own and make the same exact movements and clicks. Is this possible on automator and if so how? And if not, what free program is available which can achieve this?
    Thanks for the input!

When Automator is started, it normally asks for the kind of document that you want to create. Select "work flow". Then near to the upper right corner of the automator window there will be a red button labeled "record". from that point on all the mouse movements and clicks will be stored in the workflow until you click on the stop recording button that shows on a special floating window that automator displays while your mouse actions are recorded.

  • Macbook pro mouse pointer moving on its own

I was using my mac and suddenly, it moves from left to right on its own.
I don't know what caused the mouse to suddenly move independently, but I must know how to get rid of it.
I tried cleaning off the trackpad, but it didn't work for me.

    Hi,
try to check in System Preferences > Energy Saver and set a time interval in "Put the computer to sleep when inactive for...".

  • Jumpy slow mouse and keyboard that has a mind of its own

    Hi Folks
Please bear with me, I am not a computer geek but a mature lady who opted for a mac years ago and now has a mac family!
My current imac is running on OS X 10.5.8, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 1 GB Memory
Over the past few months if I leave my mac on overnight (as I usually do),  soon enough the mouse starts jumping and is irratic so I find I can't land on anything to open or shut it down.  The keyboard also becomes possessed with a will of its own.
My son was the one who got me onto a mac as he said they don't get viruses (but that was some 12 years ago with my first one).
I did download Mackeeper 2012 which said I was critical at every stage and I tried rectiving it with mackeeper but it said I had done what I could with the free trial version so I was going to pay for it and thought hey.... just check out the reviews etc and because the Mac experts didn't give it a good rating and said it was crap I sent it to trash.
Any ideas on what my problem is and please bear in mind that I'm not an expert, can bake a cake but lost with computers.
    Many thanks
    Mel

    Hello Mel,
I have no idea how they can get away with advertising MacKeeper at all.
You really really need to uninstall it, but not using their uninstaller.
    Klaus1's great post on MacKeeper...

Moving tabs from one window to another makes the new window vanish. I have hot corners enabled so when I move up to the right corner of my display I can see all my open windows but when I click on the tab that I moved to make it its own window it vanishes

I came up with an alternative solution.
Instead of actually trying to move the JInternalFrame from one JDesktopPane to another, I added a single, maximized JInternalFrame to the left side. When one of the right side frames is to be docked, I merely copy its ContentPane to the single JInternalFrame on the left, set the original to be non-visible, and adjust the properties of the JSplitPane to make the "docked" frame appear.
When the "close" button on the docked frame is pressed, I simply undo this procedure to "undock" the frame and redisplay it on the right-hand side (with its content intact from the docked frame, but in its original position).

  • Does anyone have "Best Practices" to move GRC 5.2 to its own environment?

    Hello,
Has anyone else put the GRC applications on a shared server and then decided to move them?  We have been running Access Enforcer, & Compliance Calibrator on a box shared with Solution Manager.  We now have permission to put it on a separate server.  We have been looking for "Best Practices" for making this type of change.  If you have experience doing these would you be willing to share knowledge?
Also,  what little we have advise or knowledge we have found indicates "there is no way to do a J2EE system copy from a dual-stack system into a J2EE-only system."  Does anyone know if this is true?
We want to move the GRC 5.2 to its own environment before we upgrade to GRC 5.3...

    Hi Renee,
There is not best practice or methdology to move GRC AC 5.2 easily. AC 5.3 has import/export functionality in place to move most of the data from one environment to another. I will recommend you to upgrade to AC 5.3 and then move everything to new server.
Another way is to ask your BASIS person and see if he can backup and restore DB on another server.
there is no way to do a J2EE system copy from a dual-stack system into a J2EE-only system." Does anyone know if this is true? This is true.

  • How control can be customized so that it changes its picture when mouse moves over it

How control can be customized so that it changes its picture when mouse moves over it. As it happens in other develpment enviroments that one can customized the look 'n feel of any thing during the mouse movement over that very thing. Moreover can any body plz tell me that how one can modify the funtionality of a control by him self (not selecting the available functionalities of controls and indicators)

The attached LV 7.1 code uses an event configured to trigger on two controls when a "Mouse Enter" or a Mouse Leave" event occurs. Depending on the type key focus is either assigned or removed.
Please elaborate on the Q re: customizing a control.

PS Do NOT change the boolean to an indicator, save, run, change to control, save run again. That is bad.

  • Move MySites to its own Web Application

I've looked and looked online but i still haven't been able to find any good step by step on whats the best way to do this. When I setup the MySites, i set it up under the Web Application that runs the rest of the sites. Now i want to move those MySites
over to its own Web Application. What's the best way to get this done. Thanks in advance.
    Ben

Google on how to load sharepoint powershell snapin
The Sharepoint Powershell snapin has been loaded but "export-spsite" does not exist as a command on a out of the box SharePoint.
"Export-SPsite" and "Import-SPsite" are 3rd party open source script. They are not official powershell cmdlet. But you can easily get them from Internet and applied to your environment.
If you like to stick with official one, you can use Export-SPWeb instead. It should help you complete the backup part.
There is Import-SPWeb cmdlet to restore the site as well. However it will not work if the site collection is not created beforehead.
So I guess the approach would be:
    1. Backup all the mysite using Export-SPweb.
    2. Build a new "My Site Host" web application and change your mysite settings in User Profile Service Application.
    3. Re-create all mysite in new web application (here the site collections are created)
    4. Restore to new created site collections with the old backup.
P.S. I have not performed MySite move before. Please consider whether it is a valid approach!

  • How to move an object that is in many layers in to its own layer?

    Hello,
I created a catalog where I have used layers but at that time didn't know that I will be creating another catalog of the same products for our wholesalers.  Anyway, now I have an object (QR Code) that is in many layers and I need to move it to its own layer where I can turn it on or off as needed. I have already created the layer but now I am not sure the quickest way to move the (QR code). I really need to learn how to use GREP in find and change, I sure it is possible with GREP but don't know the string to use.
I would appreciate any kind of help I can get.
    Thanks,
    Omar

Am I crazy, or is there a "Paste Remembers Layers" checkbox hidden somewhere in the preferences? Because when I have a bunch of objects that are all on separate layers, I simply Copy, Delete, and Paste in Place - and then they're all on one layer.
I'm not crazy! It's in the options on the Layers panel. And it seems to be off by default.
