Mouse navigation between fields in Sun Java JRE

We have a lot of forms (few hundred) generated by Oracle Designer 2000 and HeadStart and then converted (by internal Oracle converter part of Developer Suite) to Forms 6i and 10g version. All forms perfectly work with JInitiator (1.3.1.17 and 1.3.1.22) in Forms Web 6i or 10g deployments. Problem occurs if we try to run our forms within Sun Java JRE (1.4 or 1.5 or 1.6) then mouse navigation inside form stops working, ie. if I click in any field in the middle of the form cursor immediately jumps back to the first field of form. I can navigate to the other fields with the keypad without the problem.
Does anyone have similar problem and managed to solve it?
Thanks And Regards
Miran

Hello,
I've installed these patches as indicated, but still i have navigation issues when opening screens already opened and existing in the Window menu. Here is the situation:
we had oracle application server 10.1.2.0.2. We are using jre1.6 (instead of jinitiator).
we installed the patches 5983622 and 8306828.
when we open a screen, everything works fine, no navigation issues among fields. when we open a second screen, then go back to the first screen with the window menu, we loose the focus on the screen. we can click on any item but the cursor is still on the last item visited before opening the second screen. so we have to use the tab key instead of the mouse or close this screen then reopen it.
Please advice how to treat this problem because it's urgent.
Thanks in advance

  • Mouse navigation don't work with Java Plugin.

    I'm using forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2) with a Java Plugin 1.5.09.
The mouse navigation limit seems to be broken and I can't use the mouse to navigate.
The same form using jinit works fine.
Is there any reason ? Is it a bug ? Any workaround ?

Trying to switch from Jinitiator to JRE 1.5.0_12
    Forms 10.1.2.0.3
All the forms come up, but I cannot select a field with the mouse. When I click in a field, the cursor moves momentarily to the new field, but bounces back to the prior field as soon as I release the mouse button. This seems to be happening in every form.

  • Synchronization between AD and Sun Java Directory Server

I would like to build an environment as below, kindly let me know whether it is possible or not.
My Enterprise Directory is Active Directory and i have Policy Server which directs the sso users to get authenticated with that server. I would like to synchronize the user data from Active Directory to Sun Java Directory Server (existing version is 5.2 Service Pack 4) including the passwords and i would like to know with which hashing algorithm these passwords are stored in the sun directory server. Because i want to synchronize the same attributes from sun java directory server to Oracle Internet Directory and is it possible to get my sso users to get authenticated at OID even?
Kindly let me know whether this approach is feasible or not?
Any suggestion to this approach is greatly appreciated...
    Thanks in advance...
    Regards,
    Kishore Repakula.

i would like to know with which hashing algorithm these
passwords are stored in the sun directory server.Like most other directory servers, SunDS offers a few choices here.
The most secure is SSHA, which you'd probably want to use unless you have apps with dependencies on other hashes (e.g., CRYPT for backward compatibility with UNIX password field).
I would like to synchronize the user data from Active Directory
to Sun Java Directory Server (existing version is 5.2
Service Pack 4) including the passwords...Sun has a "Identity Synchronization for Windows" product which might work for you.
    http://www.sun.com/software/products/directory_srvr_ee/identity_synch/
Unfortunately, the big trick with AD passwords is that they are stored in a proprietary one-way hash, so you can't just sync them directly over to another directory. Likewise, you can't import password hashes from other sources into AD and expect them to work.

  • Mouse navigations problem with Sun Java 1.5.0_*

    Hello gurus,
We need to move from JInitiator to Sun Java Plugin; according to the Forms10g Client Platform Support (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gR2/clientsod_forms10gR2.html) one of the certified version for Forms 10.1.2.0.2 of the the Sun Java Plugin is 1.5.0_06 and Internet Explorer 6.0, we have tested also SJPI 1.5.0_09 and we get the same mouse navigation problem reported in the following Oracle Forum threads.
Mouse navigation don't work with Java Plugin.

Forms 10gR2, Sun Java 1.5.0_06 gives mouse problems
Forms 10gR2, Sun Java 1.5.0_06 gives mouse problems
Does anybody know a solution to this problem?
Any help will be really appreciated.
    Regards,
    Victor.

You need to use 1.5.0_12 or newer. The client SOD is not up-to-date on this specific point. A lot of navigation problems was fixed in this very release.
The Management team should change this in the client SOD, wonder why they still refer to 1.5.0_06. For Applications, the first 1.5.0 to be certified was _12.
Also make sure, that you are using the latest Patch 3 for 10.1.2 (10.1.2.3). This patch also contains fixes for a lot of these wellknown issues.
    Hope this helps,
    Jacob

  • Ebiz 12.0.4 Mouse stops selecting fields in Forms

We have a real obscure issue, Oracle and our ASP is unable to help us. After upgrading from 11.5.9 to 12.0.4, we noticed the following issue.
After some time when a user is in EBIZ (most of the time happens in Support or OM responsibility) the form will stop taking clicks from the mouse, and you have to use your TAB key to navigate between fields. Clearing Java cache and IE cache doesn't seem to help.
Our ASP has done all the usual thigns, recompiled forms, check invalids, we upgraded clients to JRE 1.5.0.16, but no luck.
At one point, we thoguht that other Java enabled applications were interfering, so I set some key users up with their own Windows XP virtual machine. The virtual machine works for some time without issues, but then the issue starts again.
If users restart their machine, they can use it again for a few days and then it happens again.
Some users said it stopped happening, but then after a few weeks it happens again.
We noticed this also in the Concurrent Program submission application, and various users noticed it in Finance, OM, Service, etc.
Is there anything anyone can suggest from this list? Feel free to email me directly if you like. My email address is [email protected]

Thanks Hussein, our ASP came back with those same articles, however the issue as we explained it is not a focus issue, it is mouse disconnect issue, i.e. it is like you unplug your mouse from the computer and try to use it to select fields. Only the TAB buton works to move around fields.
We have been through all the notes on Metalink and patches for Forms and JRE Upgrades and the issues still exist.
Is there any other way of troubleshooting this by way of logs and tracing to determine what is happening?

  • Sun Java Plug-in with Developer forms 10.1.2.0.2

Someone ask me (here at my work) if we can switch between JInitiator to Sun Java Plug-in.
I am not sure about Sun Java Plug-in implementation or even more, I don't have any documentation about it.
    Is these possible?
We can use our web application through the internet using Sun Java Plug-in instead of JInitiator?
How can I setup to do that?
    thanks a lot.

    HI people:
I have a wear behavior in my web application using Java Plug-in.
Let me put my environment straight:
    1. iDS 10g Rel. 10.1.2.x
    2. OC4J Enbedded on iDS
    3. Webutil 1.0.6
    Problem:
I can test one module at time, and they works just fine, without any problem or error or bad behavior.
But, if I access my complete application, which has menu, modules, reports, etc. It has some wear and strange behavior. If I try to move to any item on any module with the mouse it can be possible.
I don't really know which are the problem with this behaivor but these issues occur as soon as I connect to the application. The main module is a log in screen. It works fin, let me move with the mouse or with the keyboard. But after write the user, password and string info and press the connect button, the behavior change.
It doesn't matter which module I access, I can't move or use my mouse to execute any operation on any module.
The only moves I can do is press the button bar or the menu options associated with the main module.
Does anybody has an idea of these wear behavior.
    I need help ASAP.
    Thanks in advanced.

  • Replacing IBM Java with Sun Java

    Hello,
I used Red Carpet to install Java JRE, it installed IBM Java.
Is it O.K. to uninstall and install Sun Java JRE instead?
I have found an application (Arkeia Smart Backup, http://www.arkeia.com/)
that is dependant on SUN Java JRE, I get an error when trying to run it
    with IBM Java.
    Rgds.
    Stan Chelchowski

Ha, silly me I looked in NLSBS3061.pdf docoment and saw that it was
necessary to do this for OpenOffice.
    For information:
I unistalled the JRE which I had installed from available software in Red
Carpet , it's IBM Java using Red Carpet.
I downloaded the latest JRE from WWW.Sun.com following their install
instructions for the .rpm. All is well and ARKEIA Smart Backup is running
and backing up to my HP DAT drive @ about 1gb. per 7 mins.

  • Java JRE 1.6x/6.x

Hi ,i'm new to this forum so please be patient with me.
I downloaded a "Personal Software Inspector" program and ran a scan, and one of the problems is "Sun Java JRE 1.6x / 6.x". The scan tells me this application is "INSECURE" and potentially exposes my system to security threats and should be updated. What is this application and where do i find the newest update.
    Thanks for any reply Kilbroneygreen

Ignore that, some virus protection software also think they found a virus in the jre. No worries. You can find the newst versions here:

  • Whats is difference between Java JRE  and  Java SDK

    Hi,
what is the difference between Java JRE and Java SDK...
i think both of them have the same set of files to be installed...
I am not able to understand where they differ

The JRE (Java runtime Environment) contains just the stuff necessary to run Java and the SDK (System Development Kit) contains the extra stuff necessary (and also helpful) to develop in Java.

  • Sun Java Console/JRE

I installed JRE 1.2.2 and was able to run the Sun Java Console, I then installed JRE 1.3.1_04, now I can not open the Sun Java Console Window, I get an hour glass when I select Java Plug-In Control Panel, the hour glass disappears and nothing happens. I am able to build, deploy, run Java apps, but I require the Console Window to be open, there are some values that I need when running the app through IE 5.5
I have tried several things, removing the JRE and reinstalling but doesn't seem to work. Has anyone come across this problem? If so, what did they do to rectify the problem?

    Hello,
Finally, I've met your situation. I guess this is due to different JRE directories and registries in different Windows version, I can't fix it. :P
I use a workaround for myself. If none of your current Java Console show up, try install Plug-in 1.4.1_01 or 02 or the newest version. Then use Plug-in 1.4.1_02 Console, to choose your old version of JRE 1.2.2 and make sure only this Plug-in activates IE browser. At last attachs any parameters you needed with the current selected JRE.
If any of your Plug-in can show up, then no need to install newer Plug-in. Just select your target JRE 1.2.2 inside current Plug-in.
    That's it!

  • Sun Java Console & Applets don't display properly on JRE 1.5.0_05

Duplicate Post as it was equally relavant to this forum: [http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=666689&tstart=0 ]
    Hi,
We have a signed applet based application hosted on weblogic server. We are trying to launch the application on IE 6.0, JRE 1.5.0_05.
When we try to see the Sun Java Console from IE's Tools Menu bar, we don't see any text in the window and also the side bars & buttons ("clear", 'copy", "close") are not rendered properly. Now if we, try to bring the focus to text area of Sun Java Console, and try to select all (Ctrl+A), we only see some text selected, but not what it is. Now if we copy the text onto the notepad, we can see the text.
Next, when we try to launch the signed applet based application, we get the security warning, where only we can see the dialogue box and not the text or buttons. By randomly clicking on this security dialogue, if we hit on yes, the Applet based application is launched. The UI is totally off color; either you see some widgets on application partially or totally blackened or in different colors. Application basically looks to be in chaos.
This behavior is not observed in any of the previous JRE versions, i.e. JRE 1.5.0_04 or any previous versions. Interesting part is after uninstalling JRE 1.5.0_05, if we install 1.5.0_04; problem persists, but not in JRE 1.4.
We have observed the same behavior on number of machines. Is it a known issue? Whats the reason & solution?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vinayak

When we try to see the Sun Java Console from IE's
Tools Menu bar, we don't see any text in the window
and also the side bars & buttons ("clear", 'copy",
"close") are not rendered properly. I suspect you're running into graphics issues. Perhaps java5 is trying to optimize too much, and you have older or buggy Windows drivers.
    Try:
    * getting the latest graphics drivers for your hardware from your vendor and installing them.
    If that doesn't work, try
    * putting options like "-Dsun.java2d.noddraw" in the Java Control Panel as the default VM options for your Java.
That's actually a bit aggressive - you can start with, say, "-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false" or "-Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen=false" (each of these is less drastic than noddraw).
Then make sure you quit all IEs, and restart one.

  • Compatibilty Between SUN Java and IBM Java

    Hello all,
This is my 1st post in this Forum.
I build a Desktop application compiling my project with IBM J9 VM (build 2.3, J2RE 1.5.0 IBM J9 2.3 Linux Java.
The application runs on a windows pc that has the SUN Java version 1.5 installed, but it does not run on a pc that has the SUN Java version 1.6 installed.
I assume that there is a compatibility issue. Could it be the case that :
IBM Java Version 1.5 is only compatible with SUN Java 1.5 ?
    Thanks,
    Helen

You'll need to check the IBM site for a bug reports, I doubt Sun is going to be concered with a bug in IBM's implementation.
