Mouse not found

I have been away for a few days, and my iMac was not used immediately before leaving. I came home to a dialog box saying my mouse needed batteries. I replaced them the same way the old ones came out. My mouse still will not respond, so I shut it down and restarted, and now there is a dialog box saying the wireless mouse is not discoverable. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I've not used the iMac that much yet, so I do need help. I cannot get to the info of the exact operating system now, but I recall it said X something. Thanks a lot.

Plug the mouse directly into the Mini. Doesn't sound like the keyboard is passing the appropriate info back to the Mac.

  • RS480M2-IL - problems with "PS2 Mouse not found"

    Hello!
I bought RS480M2-IL motherboard. The first strange thing was the post about "not know processor", but i have fixed by upgrading it to the 1.4 version. You should to know also that I have USB mouse. When I am starting my computer I can see the post which says: "PS2 Mouse not found". It is a very big problem for me, because I wanted to run a Jabber server on it. After restart it won't get up. Is there any clue or something which will fix it? Don't tell me, that I must wait for new BIOS version.
    Thanks for help  :azn:
    Regards.

    RS480M-IL = s754
    RS480M2-IL = s939
I assume you have the s754 version because s939 bioses start with 3.x.
I have the same problem using bios 1.4.
This is a bios issue that hopefully will be fixed in the next bios version.
I found a temporary workaround though. Go into the bios --> Standard CMOS Features --> Halt On --> [No Errors].

  • Microsoft mouse not found

The wheel failed on my old Microsoft 4000 mouse, so I got a new one. Old one worked fine with Microsoft Mouse software. New one, I plug in the little USB dongle, turn on the mouse, and the pref pane reports "No Microsoft mouse devices found". I've tried every combination of reinstalling and what have you, and still it won't be seen. Any advice?

OK, I gave up and, after spotting this somewhere else, installed USB Overdrive. This did exactly what I wanted.
Which, I should have explained better to begin with, was to have the buttons on my mouse mapped for use.
The mouse did work in basic mode with the "Mouse" pane of Sys Prefs, but what I couldn't do was to have the "Microsoft Mouse" software see the mouse, and therefore allow me to map the buttons. Despite, as I said, all the combinations of uninstalling and reinstalling the MS software I could think of.
Anyway, as I say, I gave up, because the delightfully simple yet effective USB Overdrive has done the trick. I booted MS Mouse into touch. Quite why it worked perfectly well with my previous (identical) mouse is a mystery.
Thanks Illaass for at least offering help.

  • Logitech bluetooth mouse not found on restarting Mac Pro

    hi
for some time now I have been using a logitech V270 bluetooth mouse with my Mac Pro which has a bluetooth 2.0 card installed. all works fine except that when i restart my Mac Pro the mouse is generally not automatically detected and i get the 'bluetooth mouse setup' screen with the message 'there isn't a mouse connected'. i then need to press the reset button on the mouse and go through the usual connection procedure.
i wonder i anyone has any advice as to how i can get this set up so that the Mac Pro automatically connects
    thanks

    Hello all -
I found a solution to this by using Bluetooth Explorer. I had previously tried this and it didn't work, however I realized that I was using an old version of Bluetooth Explorer! When I downloaded the newest version from apple, it worked like a charm and I was able to select which Bluetooth adapter I wanted to use. Switched it over to the USB dongle and it works perfect now. No more skipping mouse, woo hoo!

  • K9AGM2-FIH: "PS/2 mouse not found" - BIOS setting?

    Greeting,
Every time I boot my system, the BIOS on my K9AGM2-FID board complains about not finding a PS/2 mouse and asking me to hit F1 to continue. I'm using a USB mouse and keyboard.
I can't find any setting in the BIOS where I can deactivate the PS/2 ports. Do I need a new BIOS that has this setting, or is it already there and I have missed it? I've looked through every single screen...
    thanks

have a ask MSI about that:

Will do. A BIOS update (to the latest 1.4 version) didn't help. Wondering if it could have to do with the fact that I have a media center keyboard with built in mouse...

  • Cannot delete file error -43 file not found

I cannot find and/or delete a file. The error is -43 file not found. It prevents me form making a backup with carbon copy.
The file was in applications / illustrator / legal / strangecharacters.html (now in trash) and size 112kb.
I am the admin of the machine on OSX 10.4.8
I have read & write permissions
Owner og the file is system.
I cannot change the filename: Unexpected error code -43!
I cannot change owner: Unexpected error code 213!
I cannot drag the file out of the containing folder i.e. legal (i get grayed stop icon instead of the expected green plug icon at the mouse pointer).
I can drag the legal folder around i.e. to the trash.
I can not delete the folder and its contents with empty or secure emtpy trash.
    I tried:
Repairing privileges. Nothing to repair, all is well.
Rebuilding Locate Database but got 'cannot find the file code-43' while the folder was still in its original location: applications / illustrator /
I logged out and back as admin and different user.
    I restarted.
I tried to delete the file via Terminal with rm and with command below as suggested by apple technote. The result is not as desired:
    % chflags -R nouchg /Users/macuser/.Trash/Legal\ 22-06-59/Tie\314\202\314\201ng\ Vie\314\202\314\243t.html
chflags: /Users/macuser/.Trash/Legal 22-06-59/Tiếng Việt.html: No such file or directory
I started up from a different volume and tried the above.
    Anyone?

as in my previous post, i found that part of my hard drive directory was corrupt. .ie. short version: there was a discrepancy between what the directory knew to be on the disk and what the finder showed me...
so i did a startup in single mode (command-s) and type fsck -fy at the prompt to do a disk repair. took aout three runs and 20 minutes but after that i got the desired message: disk appears to be ok. i typed reboot which restarted the machine. i then ran disk utillity repair privileges.
    everything now is fine.
note: working with bluetooth keyboard and mouse in single mode worked on my G5 (not sure though if this applies to all models), also fans make a lot of noise, like your machine is about to take off... dont worry)
    hope this helps

  • How do I get past the drivers not found problem during Windows 7 install?

I have a brand new (March 2012) MBP running Mac OS 10.7.3 (Lion) with a SuperDrive.  I'm trying to use Boot Disk Assistant to install Windows 7 with a valid Windows 7 DVD burned from an .iso.  I've partitioned the 750 GB HDD with 500 GB for Mac OS and 250 GB for Windows.  The system reboots and starts to install Windows 7.  Then it pops up an error:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing.  If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.
Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."
Of course, I can't eject the Windows setup DVD because the eject button doesn't work so I can insert the Windows Support Software that I downloaded from Apple.  So, I copied the Windows Support Software to a USB drive.
Once I get to this point, I can browse to the USB drive and I get the following file tree:
    Drivers
         Apple
              x64
         Asix
         Atheros
         ATI
         Broadcom
         Cirrus
         IDT SigmaTel
         Intel
              Chipset
                   All
                   ia64
                   Lang
                        Chip
                             (various languages)
                   WIN7
                   x64
         Marvel
         NVidia
              NVidiaChipset32
                   Ethernet
                        NAM
                   HDAudio
                   SMBUS
                   SMU
              NVidiaChipset64
                   Ethernet
                        NAM
                   HDAudio
                   SMBUS
                   SMU
              Win7_32
              Win7_64
         RealTek
The only directory that the installer recognizes as having valid drivers is the Intel > Chipset > WIN7.  When I select all of the drivers listed, the installer acts like it's installing something but then it stops saying that new devices were not found.  I can't get past this point.  The Windows 7 installer will not continue.  If I select any of the other directories, I get the message "No device drivers were found.  Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK."
Any thoughts?  Admittedly, this is the my first experience dealing with Mac OS and I'm completely out of my league.  However, this is a Windows installation issue and I'm getting hung up on device drivers.  Usually in the PC world, I can easily go to the manufacturer's website and just download the drivers I need directly.

valid Windows 7 DVD burned from an .iso.
Usually burned ISO to DVD only works when burn speed is set to slowest.
Otherwise there are a number of problems with the install failing to do proper install, sometimes not even booting to start the install. Trouble is from using Apple Disk Utility. Burned in Windows, the ISO will be fine. Using Disk Utility at slowest has become "try reburn again at reduced speed."
You can use mouse on startup to eject DVDs but what you want is your drivers later after Windows is installed, and have them on USB flash or something.
you don't need any drivers except in a few cases (MacBook Air that lacks DVD and uses USB-DVDs)

  • Corrupt iPod - Requested Resource Not Found?

I recently upgraded to iTunes 7.3.1
However, when I plugged in my iPod I received an error message saying:
"iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod."
I just disconnected and then reconnected my iPod, but still received the same message.
So I clicked Restore, and received this message:
"Are you sure you want to restore the iPod "iPod" to its factory setting? All of your songs and other data will be erased."
I clicked Restore, and received this message:
"There was a problem downloaded the iPod software for the iPod "iPod". The requested resource was not found."
What shall I do? Where can I get the iPod software? Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like you have a drive conflict:

Disconnect all other USB devices except your iPod, keyboard and mouse before you try to change the drive letter.

  • Mouse not working when reinstalling OS X with install disk

I am trying to reinstall OS X 10.3 on iMAC G5 after a hard drive crash with the help of the original install disks, but my wireless mouse does not work anymore. Any ideas how I can solve this or go through the installation process with the keyboard alone? I couldn't find a keyboard shortcut to tab from a list in a window to the select button...

How is your mouse not working? Is it dead?
Is the wireless mouse a Mighty Mouse or a 3rd party mouse?
    Does you mouse need batteries?
    *Just in case it's dirty:*
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302417 How to clean your Mighty Mouse
Take a piece of bright white paper, turn the mouse upside down on it, press down on the ball, and run the mouse quickly in circles over the paper. This will remove all the gunk that's building up on the ball
TIP: To get to the gook inside the scroll nipple use a plastic toothpick.
"Other Options:" Wear latex disposable gloves. A box of same can be purchased from your local Dollar Store or Pharmacy.
Some cell phone leather cases actually fit right over the Mighty Mouse.
Clean/wipe the Mighty Mouse off with a damp cloth/rag prior to going to bed each evening.
Some users have found using the small alcohol pads quite successful. These can be obtained from any drug/pharmacy or Dollar Store.
Only do the following if your warranty has run out:
Cleaning inside and dismantling the Apple Mighty Mouse
If so, then I suggest (if your 1 year warranty is not up and/or you have Apple Care Protecton Plan) you call Apple Tech Support & ask for a replacement.

  • Firefox won't open...keep getting "404 not found" WHY? HELP

firefox won't open...keep getting "404 not found" WHY? HELP

The 404 message usually indicates a web page can not be found. If you are seeing that message in Firefox then Firefox is up and running but either having problems connecting to the web or not finding a specific target page. Sometimes the address may be wrong, sometimes the site may not be available.
Have you written this message whilst using Firefox on another computer ?
    See also the article
    * [[error loading websites]] <-- clickable link --
On the problem computer, if it is a Windows machine it will probably have Internet Explorer, does that work ok ?
Is it one particular website you are having a problem with, if so what is that site, and what is the web address as written in the location bar. If it is many pages give at least two examples please.
Copy and paste the location bar contents into your post
    * Keyboard key '''Ctrl + L''' (press the Control key hold it down than press the L key) that will highlight the location bar content, do that while trying to use the web page
    * '''Ctrl + C''' copies the info to the 'clipboard'
    * change to the message you are writing '''Ctrl + V''' pastes/inserts content at mouse cursor in your message

  • 404 File not found error using IE

I am getting the error message "HTTP 404 - File not found" when I attempt to call a servlet from an HTML page generated from a JSP. I get this error only in IE and not in Netscape. When I type the url for my servlet directly into IE, it works.
The url of the JSP page is http://www.mysite.com/mywebapp/mydir/myJavaServerPage.jsp
The url of the servlet is http://www.mysite.com/mywebapp/servlet/myServletClassFile
After the jsp page is successfully delivered to the IE web browser, mousing over the button that provides a link to the servlet results in the full and correct url of my servlet in the bar at the bottom of IE. When I click on the button that links to my servlet, IE displays the following in url bar at the top of IE and returns the 404 error message:
    http://www.mysite.com/mywebapp/mydir/(Empty%20Reference!)x=11&y=23
    I am using Tomcat 3.3
    Thanks in advance,
    John

The problem was due to HTML that worked with Netscape and not with IE.

  • Not found in sync db

This is a great forum, and lots of responses are quick which is awesome. Not to mention Arch is amazing.
I'm trying to install Amarok, so as root I'm pacman -S amarok, which returns with this
    root@tuxzilla tux #pacman -S amarok
amarok: not found in sync db
Not sure what is going wrong here, maybe I don't have pacman configured properly, any help would be great.

tuxzilla22 wrote:Uh oh, is there a terminal to get that will allow copy and pasting, or control c'ing, sorry if this is a bit noobish'
Use Ctrl+Insert, Shift+Insert. Which will work in windows too.
Alternatively you can select the text, then press the middle button/mouse wheel to paste.
And its amarok-base if you havent got it working yet...
    EDIT: beaten to it
