Mouse not interacting with panels.

I have CS6 wich I just DL a few weeks ago for school, I use no plug-ins or other add on software. The problem is my mouse will not interact with the panels, (ie layers, swatches, and the such) in InDesign. So far Photoshop Illustrator, and Bridge all work just fine it is only ID that I am having issues with. On the panels I can get it to open the group but it has no interaction with the fine details, selecting layers, double click name to rename locking viewing and open layer options, create new layer button will also not work, I can use the options button at the top right of the panel for some things but it leaves me limited on what can be done. I can not even use my mouse to switch between layers. Any idea on what may be causeing this and what I can do to fix it. (yes my mouse works, it is charged and interacts with other software and games with no problem)

Bob thanks so much for this. I had been using IdCS6 on Win7 without issues but recently got a new larger screen so had increased font size. BTW I did several searches on Adobe forum using various combinations of "indesign CS6 mouse will not work in layers panel" and did not manage to find your helpful reply.I eventually found it on about page 10 of Google search results! Have spent half a day on this search and found nothing so not a lot of info on this issue out there...I would not have found this information anywhere else. Glad I persisted! Again many thanks.

My post on facebook this morning.
If you have an iPhone or iPad do not update to ISO 7 unless you want an operating system that looks like windows 8. The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. Overly complicated ugly and generally change for the sake of apples paranoia since the death of Steve Jobs.

You need to update iTunes to 11.1 on your PC

  • Magic Mouse Not Working with Boot Camp.

    Hi All,
I have a wired issue here. I installed Windows XP on my iMac 27" using bootcamp and all worked fine till one day my Magic Mouse stopped working in Windows. Now the funny part is windows is able to detect my mouse and says that the device is working normally but the green light under my mouse is OFF. No matter what i try i cannot get it to come on. But the moment i boot to Mac OS X the mouse works perfectly fine. My Apple Wireless KB works just fine in Windows. A USB mouse also works fine. I have also installed Parallels on my Mac and when i boot into the Windows partition using Parallels the Magic Mouse works fine. Any idea as to whats going on here.?
    John.

I have a new (July 2009) iMac24 and neither the wireless mighty mouse nor keyboard work with Boot Camp XP Home Edition SP3. They install OK with the Bluetooth control panel, but then after five or ten seconds, drop out of the control panel and have to be discovered again. I spent two hours today with a Mac support expert, but no joy. We both gave up. It seems the wireless mouse/keyboard does not work with Boot Camp. If anyone hears of a solution, please let me know.

  • Mouse not working with Boot Camp after 10.5.7 update

I upgraded to 10.5.7 recently, and now my mouse doesn't work on Boot Camp. It doesn't seem to register, and I can't move the pointer. I tried this with two mice that worked just fine on the Mac OSX side. Any ideas? Has anybody else noticed this?

MSN money stock charts used to be interactive with Firefox. They still are with Explorer. You could scroll with your mouse across the chart and the price would show up or the dividend would show up but not longer.

I have not used my Apple TV in a few years, and just got it out of the bag to use on a new TV.  I connected it up to power and with an HDMI cable toTV.  It attempts to set date and time and cannot.  I cannot get the remote to interact with the box also.  Could it be something as simple as needing a new battery?

    Hi kybriar,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps you can take to troubleshoot the remote itself:

Reset Apple TV by unplugging it from the power outlet, waiting about five seconds, then plugging it in again.
Power off your TV, wait five seconds, then power it back on.
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connectionshttp://support.apple.com/kb/TS4546
Ensure that Apple TV is within range of your Wi-Fi router or base station.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable/DSL modem are connected to power and turned on.
Make sure other devices (computers, iPhone, iPad, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Check your Wi-Fi network settings on Apple TV:
Select Settings > General > Network > Wi-Fi and press the center button on the remote to display nearby networks.
Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list.
If your Wi-Fi network uses a password, make sure you are entering it correctly.
Restart your Apple TV by selecting Settings > General > Restart.
Try restarting your Wi-Fi router or modem by turning it off and then on again.
If possible, connect an Ethernet cable and verify your Internet connection. If you can connect to the Internet using an Ethernet connection, verify that your Apple TV is using the latest software by selecting Settings > General > Software Update. If your Apple TV can be updated, install the update and then try the steps again.

  • USB Mouse not work with Mac OS 10.6

I have a USB mouse can work with Mac OS 10.4 but cannot with Mac OS 10.6. Noticed the different is the USB mouse motion reporting is 12-bit instead of 8-bit. It can definitely work on Windows with standard USB HID driver. I wonder if the OS 10.6 is having a different USB HID driver specification which is not posted in USB-IF.

    Ask the Vendor.

  • Magic Mouse not working with Lion

My Magic Mouse does not scroll with Lion. Preferences are set up correctly. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I've been using my Magic Mouse on and off this year, but it worked perfectly fine when I upgraded to 10.7.0. I haven't used the MM since my desk finally arrived today and in 10.7.2 vertical scrolling of the MM just won't work. It's so frustrating because of those iOS-like scrolling bars that vanish. It's SO HARD to find them to scroll and then my wrists are in an awkward position just forcing my mouse to scrolling vertically (by clicking, no gesture).
I have however noticed that when I put my MBA Rev A to sleep and wake it again, that vertical scrolling on my MM will work again for about 10 seconds. My batteries are at 100%, so it can't be that.
This absolutely *****! Apple's attention to detail on these small things have slipped. I even had an issue with iPhoto 11 the other day when I noticed that you literally have to jump through hoops to manually force face detection on photos that the application can't automatically detect on . That feature used to be so intuitive in iPhoto '09. Too many balls in the air, Apple?

  • Why does magic mouse not work with duracel batteries

I bought an iMac a few months ago.
Now the batteries from the magic mouse are empty and I had to buy new ones.
Only they don't work. I had to pick cheap batteries from others devices.
Can anyone tell me which brand wil work?
    Thanks,
    Bernadette

I bought my iMac 2 years ago, it came with a Magic Mouse, within several months I started having the same battery issues. I looked here, and on the Internet to find out if the problem was already known about, but found only people guessing wrongly at what the problem is. I do hope Apple has fixed this, but unfortunately many of got stuck with a junk Magic Mouse. As an Engineer with 25+ years of experience in the design of electrical contacts & connectors which includes over 2 dozen patents ... believe me when I say the problem here is that the recessed positive contacts (at the on/off switch end) are too deeply recessed to make contact with the industry allowed variation in AA batteries. Those contacts are too deeply recessed because the plastic is too thick (in the hole that forms the recess) and the metal contacts are not tightly up against the backside of that plastic wall, in fact it looks like they are installed with a gap and/or can deform/bend away further opening that gap even larger. As mentioned above many industry AA battery standards define the positive button contact height as being 1.0mm or larger ... however that plastic wall is about 1mm thick, add the gap for the metal contacts and you have no electrical contact no matter how much contact spring force there is at the negative end. Unfortunately, there is no simple good fix for the average person to perform, the recessed contacts can't be accessed to bend them to remove that gap and the pastic is too thick anyway .. leaving us with a "duct tape" fix, like wadding some tin foil into that positive terminal recess and swearing when it falls out during battery changes. A nice elegent fix, would involve disassembling the mouse, machining plastic, backing up those terminals... absurd right?... would be easier if Apple sent us a new mouse that works.
This problem has nothing to do with overall battery length, battery diameter, or inadequate spring contact force from the negative mouse contacts. Also I doubt the brand or type of battery is the issue for anyone, the positive button heights vary among brands/types, but probably are 1.0mm or larger per the industry specs, Apple just didn't design this mouse to that industry spec, or they did not control their manufacturing quality to yield what they designed. This iMac was my FIRST Apple purchase after decades of avoiding and dismissing Apple, ironically they won me over with their progress and high quality products ... I'm rather disappointed.

  • Magic Mouse not working with rechargeable batteries

    Hello,
I have a Magic Mouse. I ran out of alkaline batteries and replaced them with Philips rechargeable batteries.
Magic Mouse refuses to turn on.
The same batteries, used in a MS Mouse work just fine. In fact, it works even with only one of them.
Are there incompatible batteries with Magic Mouse? Can anyone advise?
    Thank you.

I suspect it may be a voltage issue. Virtually all rechargeables work in my Mighty Mouse but I have not been able to get rechargeables to work at all in my Magic Trackpad. I have tried about 5 different varieties. What I have not tried, as I did not have any with me in France, are these "instant on/ready to use" rechargeables. I measured the voltage of newly recharged NiMh cells at about 1.47V, which quite quickly dropped to about 1.3 to 1.4V and then stayed there a long time. Fresh Alkaline were about 1.6 to 1.8V and fresh Oxyride or Lithium, about the same. For high current devices, the lower voltage of the NiMh cells may not be an issue, as their internal resistance is much lower than alkaline, so that the effective voltage in use may the same. However for very low current devices like Mice or trackpads, the free voltage may be more important,

  • Logitech LX700 keyboard/mouse:  NOT compatible with Mac?

Just purchased a new iBook G4 for my daughter. I'm looking for an external keyboard/mouse (yes, I looked at the Apple) and like the features of the Logitech LX700, but it lists only Windows for compatibility and the software only is for Windows. Oddly, the next step down in the LX series is the LX500 which appears to be the same as the LX700 but without the rechargeable mouse.
Anyone use the LX700 on a Mac?

I use the LX700 mouse with my ibook and it works great, mine is not rechargable though, so I guess it is the LX500. You can download software from the Logitech web site.
The only reason I think it states it is not compatible is that the keyboard was designed for a PC, so it was the windows button, not eh command button. but besides that I am sure that it is fully compatible. And you can probably program that button to do what the command button does.

  • Using powerbook keyboard/mouse to interact with imac

i have seen similar questions to this, but nothing exactly like what i am doing.
    my problem is as follows...
i have an imac (2009 edition) hooked up to my television. the imac is in a bedroom and the tv is in the living room, so whenever i want to switch what is being sent to the tv, i have to go into the bedroom to do it. one solution to this would be to buy a wireless keyboard and mouse (easy enough). what i am wondering, however, is if it is possible to use my powerbook, which sits on the coffee table in the living room, to control the imac. i dont need to see the screen of the imac since it is on the tv in front of me, i just need the key strokes i hit to register on the imac, and the mouse movements to apply to the imac and not my powerbook.
i have read suggestions about using synergy, which allows one keyboard and mouse to control two computers. this could be what i want, but i want the powerbook control over the imac to be temporary, so that when i am in the bedroom, controlling the imac, i can use the imac keyboard and mouse.
does anyone have any experience with this or ideas of what i should do. it would be nice to re-use my powerbook and save $100 by not getting a wireless keyboard/mouse.
    thanks!

It would need to be running Leopard, yes - and the iMac disk will be machine-specific and won't work. You can still, however, use VNC, which is the basis for Screen Sharing. On the iMac, go back to Sharing, Remote Management, Computer Settings, and tick and set a password for "VNC viewers".
Then, on the laptop, install Chicken of the VNC, launch it and locate your computer in the Open Connection dialog. You may need to add its address manually. Enter the VNC password, and you will be able to control the iMac.
