Mouse not moving while key is pressed

I am using a Lenovo G500 (product 20236), I couldnt find the correct forum. Move to wherever necessary.
I have a problem where the mouse does not move or click while I am holding down a key. I want to do this without disabling my mouse driver, even though I really dont give a zero about its features other than scrolling. This "feature" is so frustrating, and can easily be replicated: Press a key other than alt, ctrl, or shift, and try to move the mouse. I want to be able to move the mouse while holding a key without removing the driver, but I dont want to remove the driver.
Moderator note: moved to appropriate forum.  Edited subject.

There is no ultranav anywhere, and one finger scrolling is not in the Elan settings. There used to be one finger scrolling here.

  • Mouse not scrolling while on safari

    Hi,
I have an Apple Magic Mouse working perfectly, but not scrolling while using Safari (works fine on Firefox etc). I can't find settings on Safari to fix it...
    Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click Details then type facebook in the search field then remove all facebook related items.
Now empty the Safari cache. Press Command + Option + E on your keyboard.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try accessing your Facebook page.
If that didn't help, click History from the Safari menu bar then click Clear History.
Quit and relaunch Safari and try Facebook again.

  • Firefox won't load pages unless mouse is moving or keyboard is pressed

    Hello,
I've seen this problem listed several times prior to this post, but none of the solutions have helped me.
I've been using Firefox for ages and the last 3 updates or so have been exhibiting this issue. When I attempt to load a website, Firefox will begin to take me to the page and then hang. The circle in the tab will stop moving and it will sit there until I move the mouse or press a button on the keyboard. As long as the mouse is continuously moving or keyboard buttons are pressed, the page will load fine. The same thing happens with YouTube. The video will start and then freeze unless the mouse/keyboard is moved. Firefox also exhibits this behavior when I try to download a file from a website. The download will start and then hang until I move the mouse or press a button, then it will continue for a few seconds and hang again until I repeat the mouse movement or keyboard button press.
So far, I've tried updating Firefox, Java and Flash; starting Firefox in Safe Mode; uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox: doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of Firefox with profile removal and creation. I've run the following ad and malware detection tools with no infections found: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, AdwCleaner, SuperAntispyware, Microsoft Safety Scanner, Windows Defender, Spybot Search & Destroy, Kasperky Free Security Scan and Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller.
The only thing that I've tried that "seemed" to work was starting Windows in Safe Mode with networking and running Firefox there. I was able to watch YouTube videos without freezing and websites appeared to load properly. Obviously, I can't run in Safe Mode all the time.
I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like when Firefox hangs on Google News. Notice that the images partly load, but a good number of them are either waiting or not loaded.
I hope someone can help me, since I really like Firefox and I'd hate to switch to Chrome or (shudder) IE.
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Keyboard and mouse not connecting while sleeping

iMac 21.5 inch late 2009 running OS Lion 10.7.2
My computer will go to sleep then when I go to use again the bluetooth keyboard, magic mouse and trackpad are not responding. As if they were not connecting. I checked all my settings and they are correct. The wake with bluetooth devices option is on. While the computer is sleeping I can press the power button and it will come out of sleep to my login prompt but I still can not type in my password or use any mouse. The only way to make it work again is a hard restart.

I have exactly same problem with iMac and Mac mini.
Problem was already with Snow Leopard and continues with Lion.
Have you tried to use usb mouse or keyboard?
I have, and even they don´t operate.
As well iPhone/iPad mobile mouse don't operate.
PRAM & SMC reset done, no help.
If trying to ping with another computer, you can't find that Mac in problem. Not via WLAN or ethernet.
Disconnecting eg. a usb hard disk shows a message on screen that disk was not disconnect propely... etc, showing that computer is alive.
Mac mini is used only for watching TV, there are no other sofware installed except the OS.
Edit: Different versions of VLC installed on both Mac for watching videos / TV
All system is updatet to latest version.
MacBook Air don't have this issue at all.

  • [Solved] Mouse not moving! but clicking works [Solved: downgraded X]

I upgraded today after a relatively long time without touching the system. So quiet a lot of things went new, like Xorg and the kernel.
The mouse (touchpad) stopped moving, however, I can right/left click and it responds. I use the evdev driver and no xorg.conf and had no problem with that before. I tried xf86-...-mouse and it does not help. xorg.0.log does not report any relevant error (after grep EE xorg.0.log and grep WW xorg.0.log). No apparent problem either with hald, dbus, etc. Tapping does not work either.
It was working before I reboot, so I can exclude a hardware problem, too.
    Follows grep -i mouse Xorg.0.log

Just had this problem myself. Had two problems so I'll describe them both here.
After doing pacman -Syu to update my system X would not start, I was just left with a blank screen after boot - I use nvidia drivers so the blank screen was at the point where I would normally see the nvidia logo.
Downgrading the nvidia driver from version 185.18.31-1 to 185.18.14-1 ( pacman -U #name of older package#) solved the blank screen problem. However when I logged in I could use the mouse buttons but not move the cursor. To fix this I downgraded first the xorg-server from 1.6.3-2 to 1.6.2-1 and xf86-input-evdev from 2.2.3-1 to 2.2.2-1. Everthing is back to normal now.
If anyone needs more details let me know. Hope this helps.

  • Left Speaker Squealing When Mouse Not Moving

I have just bought a zalman mouse and i just plugged it in to find that when i left it still, there would be a squeal coming from my left speaker on my dell speakers I use.
Please can someone tell me why this is and how to stop it
    Thanks

Yes, once when I first noticed it, and each time I tried both the pram reset, and when I did the other reset (holding down p&amp;r and the other two buttons before the grey screen, and waited for it to reboot from there).  Can't remember what that reset was called

  • After 6.0.2 video and gif playing only while mouse is moved or cursor blinking why?

even i can say whole browser stands when mouse not moved.
if after clicking link mouse not moving - its not working

I had the same experience with a new iPhone 5 that I bought  last week. Did not have a chance to measure battery life before the 6.0.2 upgrade installed but I set up my phone exactly like my 4S and immediately started running out of power after short periods. Went to Xmas get together with fully charged 5 and 4S. Heading home the iPhone 5 shut down for low battery and the 4S had 65% power. Both phones had two half phone calls on then and no data usage.
That night I fully charged the iPhone 5 and, without lighting it up, put it on my night table. Next morning I picked it up and looked at battery indicator and I had 42% charge with NO activity!
Tried it again next night and wound up with 37% charge. (Slept longer).
Today I called the carrier and reactivated the 4S.  Took the 5 to Apple Store and they kindly gave me choice of new replacement phone or refund. I took the refund. Uniquely, the Apple Store said it was Verizon CDMA phones that were coming back.
The are other strings on this with temporary solutions, but from my experience with 7 firmware changes on an HTC 4G phone the problem will continue because the solution will be hardware caused. We are in the days where RTM means Rush to Market - not Release To Manufacturing.
I fear the only solution is to either wait for the next model (I did not notice a really major change in performance over the 4S in LTE heavy Seattle area) - or switch to another manufacturer.
It might be useful for these forums to indicate if you have a GSM or CDMA phone to see which have more problems.
    Discouraged....

  • When links are clicked, they do not fully display the NEW page until the mouse is moved.I know it is a current bug, and appears in no other browsers that I know of.

It was pointed out that my links do not function correctly on Firefox on a Windows platform. When links are clicked, they do not fully display the NEW page until the mouse is moved! I have now observed it for myself on my fathers PC running Windows XP on Firefox. My PC is on Windows7
It is the 5 version of Firefox, so I know it is a current bug, and appears in no other browsers that I know of.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4+ you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
