Mouse over text is incorrect

Hello,
I'm not sure what is happening, but when I place the cursor over a link on a web page the text is incorrect. For instance, in the picture below, when I hold the cursor over the Google image, the text ebay shows up.  I've run a virus scan and the only thing it found was some quarantined phising emails, and messages with trojans in them. I deleted these, and reset safari, but it hasn't helped.  Any thoughts?
Thanks

Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Then open the Library folder, then the Caches folder, then the com.apple.Safari folder.
Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari.

    When mousing over text, the cursor flickers constantly (with every letter passed) from arrow to i-beam and back.  The problem occurs in both MS Word 2011 and Pages.  Any idea of how to solve this annoying problem will be much appreciated.  System 10.10.1 on a MacPro (Late 2013)

    The mouse is controlled by the OS so don't guess any app other than a mouse driver or OS X itself would be able to cause this sort of flicker issue.
    Have you seen the following and is it what you are seeing? Maybe you could make a movie (Quicktime is great for this this to make a screen recording) - but not sure how to attach a movie to these discussions as mine is grayed out and can't be selected (to the right of the insert image). Here is the what I found for a search of "mouse cursor flickers os x yosemite"

    What kind of mouse are you using? Is the mouse driver up to date if it's a third party mouse?

  • Mouse-over Text Viewing doesn't work

    When I go to my hosting company's webmail site in Internet Explorer, I can run my mouse over an e-mail subject listing and the first few lines of that e-mail will show up without clicking on the link. When I do it using Safari, nothing pops up so I have to click on each message to see any of the text in the e-mail. (Same thing with Firefox, by the way.) Is there anything I can do, or is it the website's fault (and if it's their fault does anyone know what's wrong)? I have tried both enabling and disabling pop-ups in my preferences, to no avail. I'm pretty sure it's not a pop-up thing, because it's not a new window that opens, rather it's like a flash thing appears.
    One thing I noticed, when I mouse-over an e-mail subject in IE, everything works fine. But when I mouse-over in Safari, nothing opens AND the status bar shows the following text:
    Run script "openmsg('21','Inbox',%20'message')"
    I tried searching the forums and knowledge base but couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance!

    Hi!
    Ok, now I'm a little bit confused
    For testing, I deleted all Mouse InputDevices out of my xorg.conf. In ServerLayout I specified the following:
    Section "ServerLayout"
        Identifier                          "Default Layout"
        Screen                              "Default Screen"
        InputDevice                         "Dell Notebook Keyboard" "CoreKeyboard"
    EndSection
    Now it works all perfectly.
    On my laptop I have synaptics touchpad and a external usb wheel mouse. Is it deprecated to specifiy all devices (for example mouse devices) in xorg.conf? I'm consfused, because I thought the synaptics touchpad is a special device which needs complicated configuration ;-)

    I would like to extended the photo gallery concept and the

  • Add mouse-over text to photos in keynote '09

    Hi,
    I'm creating a presentation, and I would like additional text to appear when a user slides their mouse over the photo in the slideshow. For example, when I'm editing the slides, when I hold the mouse over the photo it says, "This image is a placeholder. Drag a new media file here to replace it". Is this possible? Can I change that text so that when a user plays a presentation, they can hold their mouse over the photo and see additional information?
    thanks,

    how can i point out something on the keynote lecture - no mouse action at all?

  • Mouse over text/ image appears

    Does anyone know if you can create text in dreamweaver that
    when the mouse "rolls" over the text an image appears? The text
    stays in place and the image would appear in the center of the

    text effect? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

    You can achieve this effect without using absolute
    positioning. DW versions
    earlier than CS3 required the AP for the show/hide UI to find
    the element.
    DWCS3 does not.

  • Mouse over of detailed navigation nodes?

    Hello EP Development Gurus,
    I am in need of displaying some text on the mouse over of the detailed navigation nodes. How can I achieve this? Where can i find the java script code relating to it?
    Helpful answers will definitely be rewarded. please help me.
    Thank you all in advance.
    best regds,
    Alagammai.

    Hi Harish,
    Thank you for your immediate reply.
    I think even if I create a full paged iView, the navigation panel will be there.
    I don't want the left side navigation inside the content area.
    In the existing default navigation panel, i need to display some mouse-over text.
    To be exact, I need the par file that contains the javascripting relating to the detailed navigation part. I checked in par files like <b>com.sap.portal.navigation.detailedtree</b> and <b>com.sap.portal.layouts.framework</b>. But no use. I am not able to find the relevant code there.
    If I am not clear, please get back to me.
    best regds,
    Alagammai.

  • Links visible over text

    In mail messages I am getting more and more annoyed by the url's of links that show up. I get a yellow coloured rectangle with sometimes extreme long url's that show when I move the mouse over text with embedded links.
    Is there someway to turn this off?
    Thanx

    I didn't say I don't want their links, I said I didn't want the url's visible in the yellow rectangle that shows up when I move the cursor over the links.
    I posted the question on the Dutch Macworld forum where I was able to post an example:

  • Pop Up Text in an applet on mouse over event

    Can anyone help me to design a pop up text message to be displayed in an applet on moving your mouse over a particular control. Plz. Its urgent

    To show a pop-up use javax.swing.Popup. Add a mouse listener to button. When mouse enters the button pop-up shows and when mouse exited the button, pop-up disappears. This pop-up is capable of displaying simple message to any swing component. Sample code:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    * @author mrityunjoy_saha
    * @version 1.0
    public class AppletWithPopup extends JApplet {
        private Popup popup;
        private JButton button;
        private JLabel message;
        @Override
        public void init() {
            setLayout(new FlowLayout());
            button = new JButton("Hello");
            message = new JLabel("This is a JLabel. It can be any swing component.");
            button.addMouseListener(new MyMouseListener());
            add(button);
        private class MyMouseListener extends MouseAdapter {
            @Override
            public void mouseEntered(MouseEvent e) {
                System.out.println("Mouse entered.");
                PopupFactory factory = PopupFactory.getSharedInstance();
                popup = factory.getPopup(AppletWithPopup.this, message, (int) button.getLocationOnScreen().
                        getX() - 20, (int) button.getLocationOnScreen().getY() + 40);
                //popup = factory.getPopup(AppletWithPopup.this, message, 50, 10);
                popup.show();
            @Override
            public void mouseExited(MouseEvent e) {
                System.out.println("Mouse exited.");
                if (popup != null) {
                    popup.hide();
    }If you are talking about alert box (where some message can be displayed), in above example instead of javax.swing.Popup use javax.swing.JOptionPane. In case you are using JOptionPane, make it visible in mouseEntered() method and hide it in mouseExited() method.
    Thanks,

  • How do you create the 'cream pop-up info text boxes' that appear when you hover mouse over?

    Hi people,
    I really need to know how you create the 'cream pop-up info text boxes' that appear when you hover your mouse over an object on a webpage (and often in any program e.g. Photoshop) for more than a second. I need to know because the logo on my website is the navigation tool used to return to the homepage. It is always found in the top left so the user can always click it to return.
    The only problem is im the only one who knows that when you click my logo, you return to the homepage. I need one of these 'cream info boxes' (forgive my lack of knowledge) to appear so the user will figure it out.
    Thanks for taking the time to read my question...

    Using your code it should look like this where title attribute is in red:
    <div id="apDiv2"><a href="index.html"><img src="divs_dw/jtgd_logo_trans.png" alt="jtgd_logo" title="your description goes here" width="176" height="163" /></a></div>

  • Mouse over - how to select text

    Hi all,
    I trying to build a function that when the mouse is moved over a text, then that text is selected and some actions are performed. At the moment I am using the g.drawstring() to place the text inside a jPanel, remember the XY coordinate of that text and then, when the mouseMoved event is trigger I compare the mouse position with the original drawing coordinate. It works fine if the string is single character, but it gets very complicated when the string is made up of several words "Hello Java" and I would like to select only the "Hello" or the "Java", as I don't know in advance the XY coordinate of the second word, as the font is not proportional (what I am doing now, is search for the " " and set boundaries of each individual word within the string...a bit cumbersome, but kind of works
    My Question is:
    is there a better way to place the string on the panel, other than the g.drawstring() that can make reading and identifying much easier? perhaps, placing the string inside some kind of other component which the mouse that 'identify' to be over more easily?
    thanks for the help
    P.S. I have read some posts, which address specific questions; mine is more a question on best architecture/availability of Java.components/API that can be used to do my task in the best way.

    thanks for your reply.
    I am basically trying to draw a node and edge pattern, where the nodes are the text strings and the edges are simple lines. posX and posY are the coordinate of where to strings are drawn. Now, what I would like to do is to move the mouse over and highlight (for exampl) the string but only single words, not the whole string (which could be, for exampl, "Hello Java"), so highilighting either Hello or Java, depending on where the mouse is. But I need to place the string (or the JLabel or JText) at specific posX, posY coordinates inside my JPanel.
    protected void paintComponent(Graphics g) {
    super.paintComponent(g);
    /** SOME CODE*/
    Font font = new Font("Arial Unicode MS", Font.PLAIN, 20);
    g.setFont(font);
    g.setColor(Color.black);
    g.drawString(textString panelXSize/2-posX, panelYSize/2-posY);
    g.drawLine(panelXSize/2, panelYSize/2,panelXSize/2-posX, panelYSize/2-posY);
    }

  • How to get text when mousing over image?

    Hey there, I am extremely new to Flash, but know other Adobe programs so tend to learn quickly.
    I desperately need to find out how to get text to pop up when i mouse over PART of the image and i havent been able to find any help online in the last two days (pulling my hair out in stress).
    Now i uploaded a rough mock up i did on Photoshop, so you can see when i mouseover the top layer of the cake i need a line to stretch out and the text to pop up at the end of it. Similarly if i moused over the cherry another piece of text needs to come up in the same manor.
    Also since i need it to be a website link so what format do i open it with when i go to FILE- NEW?
    Honestly thank you so much in advance to anyone that helps

    First you have to choose if you want to handle devices. If not and you want to stay in Flash I'll stick on topic.
    In the HTML version you could either use a good old fashioned image map (they're still fine in the HTML5 era) or you could use a layering technique (here's a random layering example).
    In Flash you can do it a few different ways. If you intend on keeping the image intact as a single object then you'll be essentially doing the same as an image map. You can draw invisible hitareas on the various parts of the object and have those areas trigger a specific function that will display your text. If you break up the image into the separate parts then you can directly assign those parts to fire off a function themselves.
    First I'd like to know your desired direction.

  • Mouse over event for every word inside a text?

    I want to do a separate mouse over event for every word inside a text.
    or at least get the string below the mouse cursor.
    any hint?
    henry

    There are no events for it but you can use TextField.getCharIndexAtPoint() to determine the character where the mouse is over, and from there you can work out the word where the mouse is over.

  • Mouse-Over/Click to change content of Text/Images

    Hey,
    In the past i have seen website which have the ability for the user to select from images of news stories which would then change the content of the main frame depending on which one was moused over/clicked. I've checked for any way to do this outside of doing it with flash and embedding it and come up with nothing.
    Any suggestions or methods for doing this?
    Thanks.

    You could use the behavior "set text of layer"
