Mouse pad very stiff

13x h211nr with very stiff mouse. I cn just barely clip and hold to highlight text. Very cumbersom. I've had my laptop several months. I thought it would "break-in", but that hasn't been the case.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello audscott!: I'm surprised that you put up with your beastly rodent this long! why not start an insurgency with a different one! there are a multitude of mice raging from basic run of the mills to "Lord Champion" gaming ones that let you set sensitivity, as well as ones with weights.
a good one is any of the Logitech models they have a comprehensive lineup as mentioned it all depends on what you care to do & how much of your treasury you care to spend.
& iall you have to do is plug it in & it'll either take advantage of the generic MS mouse driver in the laptop or you can also download the corresponding driver to your model to take full advantage of it's power & features
I currently own the Logitech MX 518 Gaming Mouse & it's still alive & thriving thru Windows 8.1!

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't work, there isn;t much anyone here can do for you. It may be a physical problem with your speakers.

So I recently updated to the latest Yosemite software (last night to be exact), and this morning i started to get a weird clicking and sort of grinding noise to the right of the mouse pad and extremely slow performance. I have no idea what is going on. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know.

Everytime I plug in the charger, the mouspad starts hanging................What is that........???? Sometimes it stops working at all..............One thing to note is that right and left click buttons are working fine.........

By hanging do you mean it just gets very slow to respond? This only happens when you plug in the charger? I would make sure all your drivers are up to date. Do this happen when the computer is running off battery?

Mouse pad virtual wheel not working in bookmarks menu

Hi,
My laptops mouse pad wheel does not work in the bookmarks menu. It works fine in any other application or on the main view in firefox. I'm not very organized and have hundreds of bookmarks, it's frustrating to have to wait for the up/down buttons in the bookmarks menu to scroll.

which did not work.

Maybe FCP 3 doesn't provide support for mouse wheel scrolling? I can't remember and I'm not going to install FCP 3 to test that theory.
You should be able to at least set the MS mouse driver to perform scroll wheel functions in FCP through the MS mouse preference pane (zoom in/out for example) but I don't know if that includes scrolling.

Satellite A500 - mouse pad freezes every time I go onto the internet

I have a Toshiba Satellite A500 and every time I go onto the internet my mouse pad freezes. The only option I have is to restart the computer again. This is becoming very frustrating as I do not know what to do?

To be honest I have never heard about something like this and believe you are the first one with this strange issue.
I would like to know since when you have noticed this? I cannot imagine this issue persists from the first day.
Do you have original preinstalled operating system?
I can imagine the first step can be BIOS update. Is latest BIOS installed on your Satellite Notebook?

Macbook suddenly dies/mouse pad not working

Hi everyone,
I've become extremely worried about my macbook lately. I rely on it on a daily basis for work.
Last night my Macbook suddenly died on me. I was working and all of a sudden the screen turned off and the fans stopped. I thought the battery had died. But as i picked the macbook up, it started up again and the screen went on. The disk drive made the same startup noise it makes when you first turn on the macbook.
This similar thing has happened a few times in this last 24 hours. It seems to be getting more frequent. Sometimes, when it comes back on again, the little white power light stays off.
As i wrote this, it happened twice, thats the most its ever happened.
Also, my mouse seems to be double clicking everything. When i press the button on the built in mouse pad, it seems to have the effect of a double click. For example, when i click the top bar of this window once, it minimizes it - and it will not allow me to drag the window around.
HELP! This is not good! :(:(

By your description it does sound very much like your computer is in the process of failing and will soon be unusable at all.
the safest thing to do t this point would be to not use it any more and remove its hard drive (very easy to do by anyone). This will keep your drive intact. You can then get the computer repaired or get another one. You will at least have your data.
Anyone that depends on their computer for anything important such as for a business should always have a backup on the ready. Even is this means another entire computer.
Everyone that considers their computer's data, whether music, schoolwork, videos, other personal stuff etc. should definitely have an external hard drive that they backup the internal drive onto dailey, or as often as new data is added that they would not want to lose.
Thinking that your computer or hard drive will never fail is foolish. It doesn't matter what brand or model it is, they can all fail. This is particularly true of laptops and of hard drives.

New Macbook Pro mouse pad

I tried the new Macbook Pro today in an Apple store. Very nice except clicking a window and dragging a bit difficult because it's an all in one mouse pad. Seems a bit difficult to me. Anyone else have this problem?

I have always preferred to click with my thumb and then drag with my finger, but doing both with my finger is a bit difficult. Luckily I can still use my thumb on the new trackpads just as I've done with my previous computers and everything works fine. I end up clicking down at the bottom, and it's much easier than on other areas of the trackpad.

Mouse pad is too sensitive.

I have a HP G72-c55DX Notebook PC. I can't find an option anywhere on mouse properties to adjusts the senstivitiy of my mousepad. When I type letters, emails, etc., my hand must brush up against the mouse pad and change positions on the page I'm writing creating typing mistakes. Very frustrating. My previous HP models,or Windows had that option. I have Windows 7 and can't find it.

Using mouse pad to change desktop

Hi, I would like to use horizontale two finger scroll to change desktops on my T61, I read the synoptics wiki and all I've been able to do is verify that my mouse pad supports it. I added the option in the 50-synaptics.conf.pacnew file but I just don't know how to set it so it changes desktop..
PS: I run openbox.

Trixrabbit, do you really think that adding something to a *.pacnew file is going to have an effect? Do you merge *.pacnew files?
In any case, you are going to have to enable HorizTwoFingerScroll, then once that is done, you are going to have to configure that action to change desktops withon your openbox configuration. From my time with openbox, I think this is the rc.xml. Start reading the docs. Openbox is very well documented.

Magic Mouse - Mouse Pad?

I like the Magic Mouse that came with my 27" iMac quad-core i5, except the feel of it scrapping on my wood desk top, which causes me to cringe (like fingernails on a chalk board). For those with a similar reaction, I'm curious what you use for a "mouse pad."

I always use a mouse pad..... for exactly the same reason as you. I hate the feeling of it scrapping along the desktop. My wife is a nurse and she always gets a bunch of junk from drug companies with their logos. She brought home one of those mouse pads with the palm/wrist pad built into the bottom of the pad. I loved that thing and I figured I would get one without Vi*gra or whatever on it (for whatever reason it made my wrist stiff...... thanks folks I'll be here all week.....don't forget to tip the waitresses) and purchased one sans logo.
But I digress. Any pad will work. I just like having the wrist pad.

Something wrong with my mouse pad

I have been having an issue for a few days now that I don't understand why it is happening. When I use my mouse pad or a mouse even on y Mac book pro that i got about a year ago the curser is all over the place and is not following where I tell it to go, so it makes it very difficult to use my computer. How to toggle off mouse pad?

I have an Acer Switch 10 and am using a wireless mouse. The built in mouse pad is very annoying when I use the keyboard and want to turn it off. I went to the mouse tab under the Control center and no luck. Does anyone know of a shortcut to do this. With other laptops this was possible. Thanks for the help.
