Mouse pointer flashing like crazy

Since the last Flash update, Firefox crashes once or twice a day. According to the error reports sent, Flash did cause those crashes. Now there’s a new bug: the mouse pointer flickers like mad. I know it is Flash, because I killed the process in the task manager, and the mouse returned to normal. It’s not likely to be Firefox’s fault, but I thought I should still report it here to get it on record. Maybe Adobe will remedy this latest, highly buggy version of Flash.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • Flash Player is causing my Web Pages to flash like crazy Need help!

    I need help, I'm running a computer with Windows 98 4.10.1998
and Running Internet Explorer ver. 6.0.2800.1106IC
I had some problems I have fix eveything but when I got to a
    web page it wants
to install and run flash player if I do Install and run, all
    my web pages flash
like crazy every clickable icon or line flash the screen
    makes it flicker so hard
it is enough to give you a headache. Ad boxes on the pages
    flash like a lighting
strorm. How do I fix this? I never had this before, I ran the
    flash player debug file
    that made no change. Help!

Already checked the Event Viewer. The only thing I could find is this critical level event
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
This only happens when I am running a flash video in IE10. In Chrome everything works fine. I downgraded flash player to 11.4 but with no luck.
From the event viewer, the reboots started from sometime in september.(this is my parents' pc)
I think I found the problem. I changed my video card, a 9600GT, a few months ago with a GT630. I switched back to the 9600GT, and it looks like the issue is not happening any more. But it's still verry ackward for the issue to happen only on IE10.
I'm still testing to be sure that the video card is the problem.

  • Download dictionary within Kindle app causes Notification red LED flashes like crazy

I'm not sure if it's a Kindle issue or BB10 OS issue, but it was kind interesting on my Z10 when it happened.
I've installed the Kindle app from  appworld and I downloaded a free book, touch any content would prompt to download a dictionay for it, confirm it and the Notification red LED started to flash like crazy until the download was completed.
    Have a great weekend.

It must have been a thriller that you were downloading 'cause you don't get that from heavy drama novels.

This just started recently, I went into Systems Preference and tried alternating various point/gestures etc. w/o any luck. Not using any other mouse. What did I do to create this, the only way to stop the brush from erasing the page is to powerdown.

  • Changing the mouse pointer to a cursor?

    Hi,
I am using a graph or perhaps a polar plot, not sure yet, but I realy wanted to know if there is any way to make the mouse pointer act like a cursor, such that I can click on something on the graph and know where the mouse clicked (the coordinates) and perhaps change the appearance of the hand to something else? So I DO NOT have to use a cursor. I want the user to just click and not have to drag a cursor around.

Check out the Gtoolbox at gtoolbox.topcool.net. It has the functionality you are looking for.

  • Mouse pointer jumping

    Hello,
since yesterday the mouse pointer drives me crazy ! During moving it is jumping in a "3 steps forward, 1 step back" fashion, the length of the jumps being proportional to the speed of the moving.
This ist true for all my pointing devices: Magic Trackpad, Magic Mouse, Mighty Mouse. So it does not seem to be a hardware problem of the peripheral devices or the bluetooth connection.
Interestingly the Mouse works well during the booting sequence of the iMac until about 10 seconds after all icons have appeared on the desktop. Then the stuttering suddenly starts.
So it seems to me that some kind of software driver or whatever might be causing the problem.
Booting the machine in secured mode does not change the situation, resetting PRAM/NVRAM not either.
I am running an iMac 21,5" late 2010 with Mountain Lion 10.8.2.
I do not recall running any kind of updates during the last few days, but you never know what a Mac does when you are not watching ....
Does anyone experience the same problems ?
    Helplessly

    Ok,
problem fixed. Monitoring system.log during boot sequence revealed that the pointer starts jumping at the moment when a screen sharing session is established from my MacMini Server. I forgot to close the session two days ago ...
After closing the session everything is ok now ... :-)

  • Can I control the mouse pointer?

I would like to know is there any classes in the API that I can control the mouse pointer(cursor) like the one that is done in JavaScript? I couldn't find anything about it. In MouseEvent, the only thing that I found was getX() and getY() that will not assign the location to the current cursor. Since I need to do a First Person View mode stuff, I need to use mouse to pan and this is very important, thank you for all your repies.
    Andy

I've never used it, but it appears the Robot class is what you are looking for.

  • Can I change the look of the mouse pointer?

I was wondering if it’s possible to change the look/style of the mouse pointer just like you can in Windows?

Unsanity's Mighty Mouse is the only one I know of that can.
They also have this page of cursors they've already made you can use with the program.

  • Flashing Mouse pointer when sharing desktop

I have a problem when sharing my desktop - The Flashing Mouse pointer makes me ill.  It's like a seizure-inducing strobe and gives me instant nausea.
I read that this flashing is by design.  If this is the case, can anyone suggest a workaround or an alternative version of Lync/OCS since I need to share my desktop as part of my job so this is a real problem for me.
    Thanks
    Tom

When others control your desktop, it is unavoidable to see the flashing mouse pointer.
If you just want to share specific programs, you can choose share program only.

  • Acrobat 9 flash/flex form scrolling and hand mouse pointer problems

    Hello.
There is pdf file with embeded flash swf file inside. Main business logic has been implemented on flash: there are drop-down interactive menu and  navigation links.
I've noticed 2 problems related to Acrobat (flash movie itself, standalone, works correctly):
    1. Scrolling over drop-down menu doesn't work: mouse wheel doesn't scroll content of drop-down form menu. So, I have to manually click on scroll bar.
    2. Hand mouse pointer over links losses "hand" icon. Hand icon shows for short period and then disappears but should be visible while mouse pointer is over a link.
I managed to test these problems on Windows, MacOS with Acrobat Proffessional 9.0 and Acrobat Reader 9.1
So, Is there any way to resolve these problems?
    Thanks in advance

I'll take a look at these.  #1 is a known issue with Flash Player and is already being looked at, haven't heard about #2 though.

I updated the operating system today but no change.

  • Mouse pointer is well above where it should be on Flash Player.

Every time I use a Flash Player window in Firefox, the mouse pointer is horrifically inaccurate. For example, on an online flash game, I'll be hovering over the top of three interactive boxes, but if I click it will click on the bottom box. It's as if it's cut off the bottom half of the player to click into and only allowed the top half, but when you click in the top half, it responds in the bottom half.
A really odd scenario, hopefully someone can help me out because it's stopping me playing any form of online flash game and that's how I pass most of the time!

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • The latest flash plugin 10.3.181.34 makes my mouse pointer disappear when pointer not moving (Windows Vista) - any thoughts?

When I start firefox 6.0 beta, the mouse pointer disappears once firefox has initialized itself. If I move the mouse pointer, it reappears, then disappears again when it is at rest.
If I disable the flash plugin, the mouse pointer behaves normally, i.e. it is always visible.

Firefox 5.0 does the same thing as stated above.

  • I updated my iMac to lion and now when i leave my desktop and it goes into stand by it like a picture is taken of the screen and when i want to log in the mouse point removes pixels so i can get to the user login screen this never happened ith snow leopar

i upgraded my iMac to lion and now when i leave my desktop and it goes into stand by mode, its like a picture is taken of the actice desktop and when i want to log in the mouse point removes pixels so i can get to the user login screen this never happened ith snow leopard. does anyone else experience this and is there a fix?

I have an iMac 8, 1 that I upgraded Leopard to Snow Leopard.  It was totally updated with the latest from Apple when I bought and tried installing Lion.  The upgrade failed, shot my OS and I couldn't boot.  Had the constant spinner on a grey screen..  did a format of the drive, hdd repair and everything came back clean... got back to Snow Leopard and all the updates on it again and then retried the Lion thing... same bs... dead duck.  Crashed my system one too many times.  I can't see where a few small changes, mostly app related can be classified as an OS upgrade and is not compatible with my iMac.  I have the stuff running on my Mac Pro but have yet to notice anything impressive.  I've always used F3 and really didn't require Mission Control.  Just open you app folder for launch pad... duh?  I use the hot corners anyhow.  As far as Safari is concerned... as a power user, Apple missed the boat on that for me.. full screen etc.. Wow.  I don't like the new Mail either..
As you can see/read, I'm less than impressed with this release from Apple but I own so many of their products that I will have to put up with it for now... somehow the MS logo should apply to this release Steve.
