Mouse problem with pluggins

Hi
I have had this problem since logic 9 and was blaming SSL Duende, as that was the only pluggin set with the fault but i've just noted a free Brainworx "solo" pluggin has same problem.
Problem is when a Duende pluggin is visible on screen i get weird behaviour as in, if i run project and press space bar to pause, it wont pause until i move the mouse, same with other commands and if i say, press on a pluggin bypass switch, it wont respond until i move the mouse. If i have other pluggins open at same time as SSL i get no animation from them, like output meters or spectrum graphics until mouse is moved and i have to keep it moving other wise no animation. As i said this has only been since 9 and have been in touch with SSL "we cant reproduce this yet but are working on it".... and have had no joy with them, and since this has appeared on another third party pluggin i was wondering if anyone has had this problem and know a fix, as it's really annoying
Cheers for any replies Ronny

This happens quite a bit on the recently released beta's of Solaris Express and I would guess OpenSolaris as well. There was a thread on OpenSolaris.org that Jurgen Keil posted that disables some aspects of the CPU that on my system at least alleviated the issues.
I've not seen any reports on it from Solaris 10 so it might be unrelated. Which version of Solaris specifically are you using?

  • Mouse problems with Illustrator CS6 and Mountain Lion

The mouse in Illustrator selects and deselects as it moves over buttons and cells:
    1. In Graph data the cells the mouse passes over go dark grey if not already selected, then deselect if they are selected. This makes it very difficult to use the data cells.
    2. In Layers window, where I may have 100s of layers, I want to hide one layer or more which are not necessarily adjacent to each other. Illustrator hides all of the layers it passes. It is very difficult to click and unclick the show/hide button (and also the lock button). Ditto with show or unlock toggle layer. I had to start up in Lion in which Illustrator does not have this problem in order to get a job finished in time.
Seems there needs to be a fix for Illustrator to work properly in Mountain Lion.
Has anyone found such a fix?

No I don't have Right-Zoom (don't know what it is), but I have the same problem with Apple's Track Pad, which I don't use much and I only use the inbuilt software.
I use Kensington Slim Blade and before that LogiTech's marble mouse and both need their software to work properly.
All of them work fine in Lion and earlier. Could it be that Adobe has overlooked some new aspect that’s in Mountain Lion which, in my case, needs to be fixed for Illustrator?

  • Mouse problem with FCP: drops clips or do not respond to clicks.

    hi to all.
since i bought my macpro i've been noticing a very annoying problem when using FCP. there's a moment when the mouse stops to work properly and begins to drop clips when i try to move it or do not respond to clicks. two examples: 1- i want to move a clip from the end of the timeline to its beggining. in the middle of the way, it just drops the clip, as if i stoped pressing the mouse button. 2- i choose the pen tool so i can play with opacity and create fades. in the middle of the process of adjusting, it stops to work. i have to keep pressing several times to complete the action.
the problem is basically with the CLICK function. the cursor responds to the mouse properly, but when you click something to move it, it doesn't recognizes when you stop it and drops things. it happens only with fcp.
i'm using fcp 6.0.1, though the problem happened when i was using fcp 5.

I have a similar problem with my mouse in FCP. Perhaps not the same thing, but I think I figured out it's due to the design of the mouse. It's an Apple A1152, a white one-button mouse with a little scroll wheel. The thing is the whole top presses down for the click, and if I don't grab the two little tabs on the side that give you the leverage to keep on pressing the top, across larger distances I lose the pressure necessary and I drop whatever it is I was dragging. It's a pain because my hand is not the right size or shape to naturally get a hole of those little tabs. I don't know if your problem is related in any way but I thought I'd mention it just in case...,

  • Mouse problems with v10.7 Lion and VMWare Fusion 3.1.3; reboot of Lion temporarily fixes it

Since installing Lion, my VMWare Fusion 3.1.3 Windows 7 and XP virtual machines have very strange mouse problems.  I thought it might have been caused by 3rd party software on my iMac (Mouse Zoom), because it seemed to work after removing the software, but I have now discovered that it is actually the reboot of OS X v10.7 (and now v10.7.1) that temporarity removes the problem.  However, after a while the problem comes back, requiring another reboot of Lion.
The problem is strange behavior of mouse button clicks inside the virtual machine, e.g. unable to double click on a folder or program in Windows because it jumps back to the higher folder tree, as if I had hit the ESC key.  In addition to my USB and BlueTooth mice, the Mac touchpad also has the problem.  I have confirmed that the problem is probably in how VMWare maps the iMac human interface devices (HIDs) to the virtual mouse inside the VM, because I am able to get correct mouse function by attaching one of my mice directly to the Virtual Machine (there is an edit to the VMX file that enables HID devices).
I have deleted and reinstalled VMWare Fusion 3.1.3 per suggestions on the VMWare support site and/or various forums, but that did not help.

According to: http://roaringapps.com/app:61 Version 3.1.3 has issues with Lion.  There is a 2011 beta that works better.

  • Wired Mighty Mouse problems with Mavericks.

Alright, so today I was gifted a wired Apple mighty mouse for Christmas and immediately after I started to use it, the cursor started to 'rubber band' (snapping back to previous positions). I've searched around and tried numerous supposed fixes that include resetting the Hot Corners, rebooting into safe mode and cleaning the mouse itself with no success. I recently updated to Mavericks if that's any help. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi ~Bee Thanks for your advice I do believe it its fine now !
Looks like I need a new Mouse mat, It's strange how the mat affected the mouse I haven't had any problems in the past ? I have also cleaned the mat and still have the same problem if I continue to use it. Could you recommend a mat to buy by any chance ?
Thanks also to you Dave, Looks like we got there in the end !
    Regards

  • Apple Mighty Mouse problems with OS Leopard

Ever since I upgrade to Leopard a fortnight ago, I've had problems with my Apple wireless mouse (Mighty Mouse, which I bought 2 months ago). When my computer wakes up from sleep, my mouse stops working. I would then go to System Preference - Bluetooth Preferences, but the computer would get stuck; I would have to Force Quit out of System Preferences. Then, when I shut down the computer, it would go through the normal shutdown process but get stuck at the blank screen with the spinning gear icon; it would stay there for more than 10 minutes (which is the longest I waited before doing a hard shutdown). I have re-paired the mouse with my computer numerous times, recalibrated the machine with the assistance of the Apple helpdesk tech support, but still my mouse would not work when my Macbook Pro wakes up from sleep. Even the tech-support person at apple did not know why my computer gets stuck when I try to shut down. The annoying thing is that it only happens when my computer wakes up from sleep; otherwise, it works fine. My mouse worked perfectly when I had OS 10.4. Hopefully it is bluetooth bug that apple will fix with a new 10.5 update. Can anybody advise?

Same issues for me with my iMac.
I migrated from Windows to MacBook (about 14 months ago).
I was so pleased with Apple, and decided to ditch my PC for an iMac about three months ago.
Sadly Leopard has not proved to be a bug free stable OS for me, and I am sorely disappointed.
The Mighty Mouse BT issue is incredibly annoying for me.
Interestingly, sometimes when I do manage a restart, and it freezes, my menu bar indicates that my internet connection is by Airport (a known bug as well, I think?). My iMac connects via Ethernet, and Airport is switched off. So is there a link? Co-incidence?
Bottom line: I am very disappointed with these frustrating bugs, and Apple appears not to be listening.
My MacBook also some sporadic issues: when I wake it from sleep, sometimes the svreen goes blank, and unresponsive, and requires a restart. I use a trackpad.
Leopard has some bad bugs, and I feel very letdown by Apple.

  • Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse problems with new macbook pro.

Got a Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse to use with my recent 2011 macbook pro running 10.6.7.  There appear to be several problems with this combination.
    1. If the mouse is not moved for a few seconds and I move it, the pointer does not respond immediately, and when it does, the pointer motion stutters and jerks across the screen for a few seconds before it starts moving smoothly. I don't see any spike in CPU usage when this happens.
    2. When I shutdown/reboot or sometimes even put the macbook pro to sleep and wake it up, the machine fails to communicate with the mouse, nothing happens even if I reset/restart the mouse or click, scroll or move it around. The only fix is to go to the bluetooth settings and set it up as a new device.
I suspected a hardware problem on either the mouse or the mac, but (a) the mouse works perfectly fine on an older Sony Vaio laptop and (b) the apple wireless keyboard works pretty fine with none of these problems with my macbook. Would getting an apple magic mouse magically solve this problem?
Has anyone else faced this situation, and could it be fixed?

Any issues you are having with a "Logitech" product, should be dealt with their tech/customer support department.

  • Mouse problem with kernel25suspend2

Hi I've installed kerner26suspend2 with pacman, but my mouse and touchpad under X don't work after boot (not only after resume). Under the default vmlinuz26 stock kernel everything is ok.
I have excluded from mkinitrdcpio.conf the autodetect HOOK, because my machine hanged. Is there any chance I can load PS/2 module for my mouse?

    Problem is solved
    modprobe intel_agp
    modprobe agpgart
    modprobe radeon
    that's it!
It looks like none of the above mentioned modules are loaded during startup.

  • Mighty Mouse: Problems with it everyday!

Can someone please advise me on what to do with my new mighty mouse? I've had it for a couple of months now, and everyday it is affected by at least one of three functional glitches. These are:
    1. The click, scroll and side bars stop functioning (the movement sensor still functions)
    2. The index finger scroll pimple stop functioning in the up direction only (but not the down).
    3. The movement sensor becomes slow and jittery.
I paid good money for this state of the art bluetooth device, and I expected more. I used a wireless mouse designed for a windows OS last year at it never had problems like this. (And it cost less than half the price!)
I know if I take it back to the shop they will just take it away and test it and I'll be without a mouse for a few weeks, so what should I do? Is it faulty? Is this normal?

This is not normal operation. You should have it checked out. This will help with the scroll ball not functioning in one direction.

  • Mouse problems with PS CS3.

So I use a Wacom tablet with CS3, and when I open Photoshop, my right and left-click functions are reversed (left-click opens a menu, right-click selects things).  This only happens with Adobe programs.  How do I solve the problem?
EDIT: I'm running on Windows Vista, if it's any help.

    This is a wild guess...
But it could be that the mouse software and the wacom software interfere, so that the mouse drivers are overriding the wacom settings.
There is i.E. "Setpoint" from Logitech which allows you to create different mouse configurations (like switching keys, assigning shortcuts, etc.) for different programs.
I also had a similar issue with my touchpad. It was always very slow and everytime I set it's speed to a higher rate, it always got set to low again by the mouse driver. Then there was an option for that touchpad to let vista's mouse settings handle the pointer speed. I don't recall where I could enable this setting, but this was a case where touchpad and mouse interfered and maybe this is similar to what is happening to you right now.
You can try to disable all third-party mouse-drivers and programs that came with your mouse (not the tablet), Vista will just use the standard driver and not interfere with the wacom tablet. If your tablet does work in Photoshop now as expected, the next step would be to take a closer look at the mouse software and if there are some settings which can solve your problem.
If not, just do what the previous poster recommended: Search for new wacom drivers. Also make sure you don't have older wacom software of previous tablets installed (I switched from an old graphire to bamboo - mainly because I lost the pen). I had a lot of problems while the old drivers were colliding with the new ones. Removing the old ones solved them all.

  • Mouse problems with 15" MBP

Hi all - I hope somebody can help me.
Starting about a month or so ago I started getting weird mouse behavior.  At first it seems kind of "sticky", like it's not quite keeping up with you, then it seems to get workse until it skips and will not go where you want it and then finally it actually disconnects altogether. I can re-connect it but it just keeps doing the same thing.  Sometimes for hours it's fine, at other times I can't do anything and the system is paralyzed.  It is truly driving me nuts.
To start I read a lot of forums about Mountain Lion and mouse issues, but mine don't seem to be exactly the same.  I read that sandbox and indexing can cause issues, and to check the console. I did and found lots of sandbox errors.  I followed the advice and rebooted several times, reset the PRAM and even did a restore from time machine but nothing worked.  I suspected That maybe I had a hardware issue so I went and bought a new Magic mouse.  It was fine for the first day or so (that was last weekend) but is now doing the same thing.  The weird thing is I also have a trackpad and it will work even when the mouse stops, but it also "jumps" and sticks.
I don't know what else to do.  I have googled the errors I see in the console one at a time for the last several weeks but I can never solve it.  Urghhh!
It was doing it gain tonight so I rebooted, reset the PRAM again and it just rebooted and it's still doing it.  I have pasted the console log below.
Any help would be really appreciated... I am really at my wit's end.
Sorry for the huge file.  I see a lot of vpnagent errors - I don't normally see those but I changed location shortly after booting b/c it was looking for a proxy and i forgot to change it back from earlier.  I see a lot of Chrome errors I usually DO see those.  The others I get a lot of are Sandbox errors and the mouse disconnects...

  • Optical mouse problems with K8N Neo - BIOS?

Hi guys, I recently bought a cheapo Trust USB Wireless optical mouse.
    I tried E-mailing the manufacturer, asking about the problem;
"The mouse works fine as long as its in continuous motion, but heres the
    problem:
Whenever Ive let go of it for a few seconds and then try to move it again,
it moves around the screen in an uncontrollable manner for a second or two before
    it returns to normal state.
This seems to have something to do with the "powersaving" capability of the
mouse or something. You know, most optical mouses power down after a few seconds of inactivity, and wakes up as soon as its moved. This one sort of has problems wake up properly.
Im using the standard XP drivers for HID-compilant mouse.
Can I do anything to prevent this? Its really annoying."
    So heres the reply:
it can be due to an incorrect set setting in your computer's BIOS. I
suggest you take the manual of the PC or Main board before looking into your
    BIOS.
You have to set the option like "Power Management" correctly.
Every BIOS on each PC brand is different so we can't exactly guide you in
    this.
So is there a way to fix this? Have tried looking through BIOS myself, but can't find anything that seems related to this....

Com toda certeza trata-se de bios.

  • Kensington Bluetooth Mouse Problem With 10.4.3

After updating to 10.4.3, which updated bluetooth from 1.6 to 1.66, Kensington Mouseworks 2.8 no longer works with any of my Kensington bluetooth mice. A Kensington USB mouse works fine.
Neither Apple nor Kensington was able to resolve this. Any ideas how to fix this until Kensington updates their drivers ?

    Original message was to Kensington:
I can set up my device - discoverable - pairing and so on, but cannot get to the settings - fast, slow, scrolling, chording, etc. As a matter of fact when I select mouseworks under my system prefrences I get a window saying that there are no Kensington pointing devices found, but yet I'm using the device. The tracking speed of the cursor is uncontrollable at times. I am running OSX 10.4.3. Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I render this mouse to have a mind of it's own and not too useful to me.
    Their reply:
Thank you for contacting Kensington Technical Support.
As per the latest update from the concerned department, it has been observed that there are few compatibility issues between Mouseworks software and Bluetooth mouse on Mac OS X 10.4.3. Unfortunately, you are facing the same issue.
However, it has been proved that the issue is not with Kensington software and Apple is working towards releasing a patch for this.
Any solutions to date would be of great help.

  • Mighty Mouse problem with duo core intel mac mini & 26" LCD/TV display

I have an Olevia 26" LCD/TV display connected to my Intel Duo core mac mini and I have been using a Mighty Mouse with it from the start but all of a sudden the mouse pointer will not come out of the upper right corner. It moves out a little and then pops back into the corner.
I connected the Mighty Mouse to my g4 PowerBook and it tracks and scrolls fine. I've also cleaned it and tried it on a solid, dark service while connected to the mac mini and those things don't help either.
Any suggestions anyone. I've been using the Mighty Mouse for months and I love especially the ability to scroll horizonitally as I use Final Cut Pro and that features is GREAT in the timeline window.
I can't seem to find anything here in the discussions specifcally with this issue so any guidance would be appreciated!

    hi there--
if all is fine on the install disk, run disk repair http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302672. if not, i would reset the open firmware. do this by holding apple-option-o-f on keyboard while you start up and you get a screen that says "welcome to open firmware". type in following commands, without quotations-- "reset-nvram" (hit return) and "reset-all" (hit return). second command restarts the computer. good luck.[:)]

  • Mouse problem with Mavericks?

    Hello:
I just finished upgrading to Mavericks from 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).  I am using the same Logittech M110 mouse that I used with Snow Leopard.
I have also downloaded the latest sofware for the mouse.
When I use the scroll wheel - the scrooling goes in the opposite direction as the whell - when I turn the wheel for an upward scrool - the actual
scrool goes downward and the same in the opposite direction.
Does anyone know how I can get this reversed so that the scrooling is in the same direction as the wheel movment?
I'm guessing this has something to do with compatability - however, on the Logitech site it does give Maverickes as one of the OS's that
the download update is good for.   But, there is no control for scrooling direction in the LLC.
    Thanks.

OK - I got it figured out.  I went into the Mouse Prefferances for Mavericks and I unchecked
    Scroll Direction: Natural.
Now why the Natural setting for scrolling should be in the opposite direction of the mouse wheel movement
is a question within it's self.
