Mouse scroll no longer working

Since the update to V.21 my mouse wheel no longer scrolls pages within the BBC website. www.bbc.co.uk
It was working fine, Firefox updated then it stopped scrolling.
*Unrelated* request username and password reminder fails to send email. Had to create another account.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Why does the mouse scroll no longer work in Firefox 4?

I upgraded to Firefox 4 and suddenly my mouse scroll no longer works. It works fine for other programs and IE also Chrome, just not Firefox 4. How do I fix this? If this cannot be fixed, how can resort back to the old version?

Spoke too soon. It worked fine for 10 minutes then died again. Closed and re-opened Firefox and it's working again. If this keeps up I will end up back with Chrome or IE. Way too inconvenient for me to stay with a browser and lose this functionality.

Spice on KVM, mouse scrolling no longer works

Hi,
Using a redhat workstation, I have installed archlinux on KVM using virt-manager, set the display to spice and video to qxl. On the guest arch linux, I have installed from AUR xf86-video-qxl and spice-vdagent. So far so good. However, scrolling using the wheel mouse does not work anymore when the spice-vdagentd is running. If I stop spice-vdagent, scrolling works again.
Anybody have a workaround with spice-vdagent and mouse scrolling?

Hello, Mouse scroll stop to work in BRIDGE CC, and I have lots of troubles with this one like he didn't know how to open AI file or TIFF ...(fix that but not the scroll)

Windows 7 64bits, drivers is updated and all work fine in all other softwares or OS
Originally that work on BRIDGE but that stop and I try to unistall them, install another time or adjust things but nothing change

When you say "mouse button", do you mean clicking on the controls in the upper left of the iTunes window or do you mean that you have special media keys on your mouse?

Considering the age of the iPod, it's likely been through quite a bit of useage and needs to be replaced. There really isn't much else you can do to troubleshoot this issue.
If you would like to have it repaired, there are several 3rd party repair companies out there who can do the job at a pretty decent price.

Mouse scroll wheel not working correctly.

Just installed Firefox 4 and my mouse scroll wheel is not working correctly. When opening the program, I can scroll as normal for about 5/10 minutes. Then, suddenly, the mouse scroll wheel no longer works. I've since found that it is actually scrolling outside of Firefox. E.g. I had Outlook open and it was scrolling through my Outlook even though Firefox was the open window. I checked this multiple times and it always seems to be the case.
Checked about:config as advised, everything looks correct on the mousewheel settings (i.e everything is set to default). Mouse drivers are up to date. No problems with any other programs. This issue started occurring in Firefox 4 beta. I switched back to 3.6 so I could continue scrolling. Updating to Firefox 4 caused the issue to recur.

It seems a lot of people are having problems with the Mighty Mouse's scroll ball. I actually thought I was done for after just a few weeks of using my first (wired) one. But here I am years later with my wireless variant, beeing perfectly happy with it (in case you don't know, the wireless Mighty Mouse is a much better option due to it's laser based tracking system). In my experience, getting rid of fluff that interferes with the ball is quite easy on both types. Try blowing really hard directly at the trackball (optionally while you press it down with some pointed device) a few times. Rotate it and repeat as needed. Alternatively roll the mouse upside down on the microfiber cloth that probably came with your Mac.

Mouse button no longer works

I just reinstalled my 10.7.5 operating system on my star up disk. All went perfectly except now when I press the the little scroll button in the middle of the mouse it no longer invokes Mission Control as it has before I did the system reinstall. I botted from the back up (back up done before the system reinstall) of my start up disk & it works as properly. Both my startup & its back up are configured as shown in pics below. Any ideas?

Also, how do I choose between CDE and GNOME from only
keyboard (modify some files, etc) in case my mouse
does not even work any more?You should be able to navigate in the dtgreet login screen with the keyboard.
Shift-tab, arrows, and spacebar should get you to the menu to choose your login environment.

Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having issues with your two finger scrolling. I have a couple of things for you to try. This HP document Using and Configuring the TouchPad has a section on Turning individual gestures off and on and make sure that the two finger scrolling is enabled. If that does work then reinstall your Synaptics TouchPad Driver.

Mouse Scroll is not working in safari

After instlling Safari on my Win 7, could not use mouse scroll to navigate through the pages (scroll up and down).
Went through few posts and found the solution by installing "Microsoft Intellipoint latest software ver."
Downloaded directly from Microsoft Download Center & now IT WORKS.
Got the idea from PhDj's post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2390501?start=0&tstart=0, wanted to write in the same post but it's archived, thanks PhDj's.

Enable the "Video chat enhancements" lab in Gmail or select 'enable high resolution video' in your Chat settings in iGoogle or Google+. The Video Chat Enhancements is under "Labs" in your Gmail Settings. It works fine.

New Imac 20" mouse scroll wheel not working

I just got my imac about 4 months ago and the scroll wheel stop working properly. It will let me scroll down side to side but not back up. Is this something that apple will replace if i take it back to the apple store or am i stuck with a broken mouse.

It can be replaced under the one-year warranty or the iMac it came with, or three years if you have AppleCare.
However, you should try cleaning it. The little rollers under the ball get clogged with gunk and stop working properly.

The way I clean it is with a damp (not wet) lint-free cloth. Fold it over and put it flat on a table or counter top. Holding the mouse up-side-down, roll the ball quickly in all direction on the cloth. Do this for a minute or two. Usually, this will dislodge the accumulated gunk on the internal rollers, and the mouse scrolling will work again.
You may want to do this periodically, even if it appears to be working fine.

Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand that you are having an issue with your mouse scrolling after upgrading to Windows 7. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue.
I suggest going to Device Manager and Mice and other pointing devices. Right click on your mouse and in the drivers tab, click on update driver.
If this does not resolve the issue then I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse.

My mouse scroll stop working in firefox after a few minutes of surfing on the internet, on other browsers or software programs I do not have this problem ! When I close and reopen firefox the scroll function works again a few minutes..
I removed and reinstall firefor without result.

When this occurs to me, I also lose the use of the page up/down keys and the arrow up/down keys, but I am able to drag the scroll bar up and down to navigate the page. When you have a chance, could you read my post to see if you have the same set of conditions, and post a reply to my post?

Play/pause mouse button no longer works since update?

I have a mouse with several buttons, one of which I customized to be "Play/Pause". This was great for iTunes -- if I was in Firefox or something, I could click it and immediately play/pause the song.
However, with the new version of iTunes, this button no longer works, neither outside of iTunes nor inside. The button still works with other programs that it used to (eg, VLC), so it's specific to iTunes.
My hopes aren't high, but is there any chance of solving this?
