Mouse scrolling backwards
Did anyone experience your mouse scrolling backwards after the upgrade?
This was changed in 10.8, I believe. You can reverse it (if you want to), in System Preferences - Trackpad - Scroll/Zoom - turn off "Scroll direction: natural".
The "natural" scroll motion mimics what happens when you scroll on an iOS device such as an iPad.

Why is my wireless mouse scrolling backward
I upgraded to Lion. Now my mouse scrolls backward. Anyone know why?
That does not appear to be the usual Mouse prefs window in Lion. Don't have a clue why that would be.
This is what it looks like on mine -
However, the equivalent to the 'inverted/natural' choice would probably be the first item, "Move content...." - try unchecking that one. -
My magic mouse scrolls backwards with Lion
After upgrading to Lion the up and down movements on my Magic Mouse are backwards. I move my finger down and the page goes up, and the reverse is true when motioning up.
See "magic mouse scrolls in reverse/backwards" for the answer.

Why does my mouse scroll backwards?
Multiple mice/mouses that I have used on my MacBookPro scroll backward since installing OSX Lion. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you for your help I unchecked the block that said "Move content in the direction of finger movement..." and that fixed the problem.
You're welcome. Glad I could help. -
Desktop slides mouse scrolls backward!
My desktop will suddenly slide off to the left when I am working on the internet for instance. To get it back I have to click on the bar at the bottom...and it slides back on the screen. At the same time my mouse is scrolling backwards! It is driving me crazy. If I want to go to the bottom of a page I have to swipe up, and to go up, down.
I use a magic mouse, OS Lion, which I just installed over Snow Lepard, and Mozilla- which also just did an update!
HELP I am going nuts!!!
ThanksOk I know now that the problem did start with the upgrade to Lion!
I had to go to the apple, system preferences, mouse and more gestures...to stop the scrolling issue I had to Uncheck scroll direction "natural" (really?? it is backwards), it actually shows a picture
And Uncheck swipe between full screen apps, and this is because I always use 2 fingers to swipe instead of one. If you only swipe with one you are ok...you can leave it checked. -
Why is my magic mouse scrolling backwards?
I've updated to 10.7.3 and now I have to scroll down to scroll up, and up to scroll down. Very weird!
Please help.Look at the setting in System Preferences > Mouse > Scroll Direction Natural.
Change it for the opposite preference.

I downloaded the new OS X 10.9.2 and ever since then my magic mouse works backwards
I downloaded the new OS X 10.9.2 and ever since the upgrade, my apple magic mouse scrolls backwards. I want to scroll up, I have to move my finger down and vise versa/side to side. Is there a way to re-program it? If not, is there a software upgrade, if so where can I get it? Thanks!

I have it set to natural but it's working the opposite.
Actually, that's correct. "Natural" is the opposite of the "normal" scrolling that you would be accustomed to, so it's working just as it should. To get "normal" scrolling back, just uncheck the "scroll direction: natural" checkbox and you should be good.
Personally, I like to have it both ways. The system settings are global and affect all mousing peripherals. I used a menubar app called Scroll Reverser. This allows me to, simultaneously, use the "natural" scrolling with my trackpad (which I've grown to like) and "normal" scrolling with my mouse. -
How to change mouse scrolling direction?
Hi,
I use timeline mouse scrolling (horizontal) and I find it very annoying, that it goes in the wrong direction. I want it to go backwards, if I scroll to me. now it goes in the opposite direction. I couldn`t find it in the kayboard shortcuts, is there a way to change it?
thanks,
MichalHave you tried reversing your mouse 180 degrees? Then it works fine for you.

Logitech mouse scroll not as smooth as trackpad
Hello all, I have Logitech G700s mouse for my new Macbook pro 15" Retina (2013 Haswell).
When using my Macbook with the built in trackpad, scrolling is super smoth and very easy on the eyes. But when using the Logitech mouse, scrolling is very (choppy, stuttery, jitter - whatever you want to call it) just not as smooth as the trackpad. Is anybody else having the same problem?
I tried with and without Logitech drivers. Logitech drivers actually did help a bit, but scrolling still not as smooth as the trackpad. Is this something I will just have to deal with? or is there a fix? is it the mouse problem?
Any help would be appreciated.Right Logitech mice aren't the best at scrolling. I have 2 of their mice and both work OK accept for the scroll wheel. They work but they jump around. Moving the wheel forward sometimes makes the system think it is first moving backwards. I find the Wheel scroll detents very weak and any pressure applied to it can cause it to think it has move forwards or backwards without really moving it at all. Just something I have gotten use to over the 2+ years I used them.

Hello,
While using my iMac the other day I began to have trouble with my mighty mouse's scroll ball. I could scroll down, left, and right, but I could not scroll upwards.
I have had this problem before with the mighty mouse (also when scrolling backwards) and a quick blot and rub with a damp cloth was enough to solve the problem. I guess it cleared some dirt out of the scrolling mechanism. I have tried this method again but it will not remedy the problem.
Has my scroll balll gone bad, or am I just not doing something right? My machine is still under the 1 year warranty, so it's not a crisis. I just want to make sure that the mouse has malfunctioned before I call AppleCare.
Thanks.hi dv guru--
cleaning the mighty mouse is the best first step. i would try a couple of other things. first, i would do a pmu reset. instructions are given here. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303446. make sure you don't just unplug the cord from the outlet where it is plugged in. unplug the cord from where it goes into the back of the computer, and leave it plugged into the outlet, then, after half a minute or so, plug it back in to where it goes into the power supply. if that still doesn't get it working, try booting to the install disk and running disk repair. instructions for that procedure are here. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214 let me know if either of those things works. Spice on KVM, mouse scrolling no longer works
Hi,
Using a redhat workstation, I have installed archlinux on KVM using virt-manager, set the display to spice and video to qxl. On the guest arch linux, I have installed from AUR xf86-video-qxl and spice-vdagent. So far so good. However, scrolling using the wheel mouse does not work anymore when the spice-vdagentd is running. If I stop spice-vdagent, scrolling works again.
Anybody have a workaround with spice-vdagent and mouse scrolling?
Thanks in advance. It probably needs a clean the instructions are at
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302417
I clean the scroll ball about every 4 weeks or so

Why does the mouse scroll no longer work in Firefox 4?
I upgraded to Firefox 4 and suddenly my mouse scroll no longer works. It works fine for other programs and IE also Chrome, just not Firefox 4. How do I fix this? If this cannot be fixed, how can resort back to the old version?
Spoke too soon. It worked fine for 10 minutes then died again. Closed and re-opened Firefox and it's working again. If this keeps up I will end up back with Chrome or IE. Way too inconvenient for me to stay with a browser and lose this functionality.

Some other info:
You know that you can control Photoshop input fields http://screencast.com/t/ApVseKYRxz with the mouse scroll wheel. Pretty handy indeed. You just have to click on the field and spin the wheel and values changing.
The problem:
My mouse wheel cannot control the input fields in this way. I select the field, spin the wheel and nothing happen. When I spin it faster a couple of times, than the values get changing - pretty strange ha? Scrolling normally - do not change, scrolling fast change. But to scroll fast is not an option because I cannot change the values slightly with small increments... There is a bug really...
What I tried and didn't work:
1. Restarted Photoshop
2. Plug/Unplug and change different USB slots for both receivers.
3. Reintalling latest SetPoint Drivers (after uninstall I run ccleaner)
4. Put all SetPoint settings to defaults (because I programmed some mouse keys to Photoshop specifically).
5. Install earlier versions of SetPoint drivers.
6. Set my UEFI BIOS to defaults.
7. Restarted the BIOS to load all the drivers again, but still no luck
(the last think I didn't do is to reinstall Photoshop)
What I have investigated so far:
1. When I restart the computer and run Photoshop it works perfect HA! , but after a seconds it do not words again ...
2. When I stop SetPoint software, when I shut down it, it words perfect.
3. When I unplug keyboard receiver it words perfect, but I do not have keyboard:)
4. Everything works perfect in Illustrator and After effects.
5. Also I noticed that when I scroll images in CameraRaw - http://screencast.com/t/xKnn6cY9 the I have to scroll harder and spin the wheel harder to scroll - the same problem.
6. Also in photoshop and bridge scrolling here - is pretty smooth and works perfect - http://screencast.com/t/75IXMG6Zria
Maybe the most important part - When I start experiencing the problem:
I had same configuration , same everything and everything worked fine.
I installed SSD disk, reinstalled Windows (same like before), updated my BIOS to UEFI. Installed Photoshop and SetPoint and problem started.
Posted same request to Logitech, but want to ask you for help too.
Thanks!Hi all,
I found a solution.
1. Uninstall your current Setpoint Driver.
2. Run CCleaner - http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
3. Download an older version of SetPoint - http://www.oldapps.com/setpoint.php
(I used SetPoint 6.15 (x64), I tried 6.20, 6.32, 6.50 , but no luck)
4. Now everything is all right!
Thanks!
Can somebody mark this as solved? Thanks!
