  • G60-535DX Notebook ~ Unable to create Recovery Discs

I have a HP G60-535DX Notebook, running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, Service Pack 1.
I have tried to create recovery discs by going to Recovery Manager and clicking on Recovery Disc Creation. When I get the screen that says Splitting System Image, it never goes beyond 9%, even when I let it run for over an hour.
    Any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • Mouse down? filter no funciona correctamente

    Hi,
The guy in this video does it in the first two minutes then he continues to disassemble his G60 notebook . It would be wise to remove the battery first. It can be done with shoes on.

my 2 year wireless connection worked correctly.  I can print from the Internet but not from any Windows

  • G60-535DX - sound not working internally or externally

I had my headphones in and the sound went completely out. With the headphones plugged in, it sounds very staticy and high pitched. I take the headphones out and hear nothing. I have turned the volume all the way up, troubleshooted the problem, reinstalled the sound driver. Nothing works. I then rebooted the computer and sound worked for about 5 minutes then went out again.

    Hi,
This may be worth trying. Shutdown the notebook, remove the AC Adapter and remove the battery. Now hold down the Power Button on the notebook for a good 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.  See if this has helped the audio issue at all.

  • Internal Mic not detected for G60-535DX

I accidentally disabled my internal audio sound options, and now it's not showing up at all.  When I go to Start>Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Manage Audio Devices>Recording it tells me "no audio devices are installed"
I tried installing the Audio drivers to see if that would fix it Conexant Pebble High Definition SmartAudio.  It installed, I restarted, and the mic still isn't showing up.  Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my internal mic. It was not listed as an option on the sound input panel. I solved the problem by going to System Preferences; clicking on "Speech"; then, under "speech recognition", choose "internal microphone" in the microphone menu; then click the "calibrate" button. Go back into the "Sound" panel and, hopefully, the internal mic will be an option.
I have to admit that I explored the rest of the options in the speech panel, but I believe that the calibration in the speech panel did the trick. I have external speakers for output and the mic now works great.

  • Touchpad mouse scroll not working in newer versions of Firefox

Firefox doesn't seem to like to play nice with touchpad mice on laptops when it comes to scrolling. I am running Windows 7 on an HP G60-535DX with FF 6. I noticed the scroll issue when I bought this computer and was using FF 5 but it seems the problem started with FF 4. I have searched for fixes for this and tried everything that looked promising. I uninstalled my mouse drivers and re-installed them. Everything is up to date. I don't know what else to do. I am in love with the new tab group feature and I don't want to have to switch to Google Chrome.... Help?

Does Firefox use another font instead?
If this is the case then which font?

  • HP Optical PS/2 Mouse - Light On But Won't Work

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me out. My current ten year old mouse is starting to have difficulty with clicking, so I am trying to replace it with a HP mouse that I have. For reference, this is the new mouse: http://www.amazon.com/HP-GM278AA-ABA-M-SBQ133-5188-6230/dp/B000UH0OD6
I plug it in, but it won't move the cursor or click anything. The light on the bottom of the mouse comes on, but nothing else. When I go to the Control Panel it doesn't list it under mouse hardware, either. I have a Windows Vista.
    Thanks!

    Hello KrisML,
Hopefully your new mouse was not sold used as is in that amazon ad you referenced.
Can you connect it to a different computer to see if it works on it or not? If it does work...
Its possible the driver installation for the new mouse is corrupted and needs to be removed in order to reinstall again.
You can safely remove any usb drivers that are not in use (hidden drivers). Devices that get plugged in later will simply reinstall its needed driver again.
Remove the mouse from the computer if it’s attached and use the mouse that does currently work (unless its a laptop).
Right click Computer and click on Properties. In the System window on the left side, click on Advanced System Properties.
Choose the Advanced tab and click on Environment Variables… button at the bottom.
Under System Variables, click on the New… button
Type this in the box that pops up.
    Variable Name: devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices
    Variable Value: 1
Click OK on all the open windows to close them out.
Go to Computer Management again and click on Device Manager. Go to View at the top of the window and click on Show Hidden Devices.
Click on the drop down arrow for Mice and other pointing devices to open the list.
Look for any device listed that is hidden (greyed out) and delete it.
Click on the drop down arrow for Universal Serial Bus Controllers to open the list.
Look for any USB Composite Device that is hidden (greyed out) and delete it. There may be several and it’s ok to delete them all.
It wouldnt hurt to do the same for any USB Mass Storage Devices also since they will just reinstall once connected again.
When you connect the mouse to the computer again, give it a minute to reinstall the driver.
Let me know if you have further questions.

  • What the is the battery life of HP's G60-635DX laptop? No specs?

I just saw it on best buy, but there is no battery life listed, no specs on HP.com, no review on zd.net.....
Where are the specs for this model?
I have the G60-535dx, but I am a little disappointed with the battery life. I may want to upgrade, get a Sony, or get a 12 cell battery.

The batery life mainly depends on the 6 cell lithium or 9 cell and 12 cell and they mainly depends on the Notebook. Some of the Notebooks are compatible and some or not compatible,. The minimum life of the battery is 1 hour and maximum is 2 hours it is all based on your useage. If you want to increase the battery life I would request you to click on the below web link:

  • Hard drive replacement

Hard drive on my: G60-535DX notebook, product No: VM085UA, crashed. What HDD to buy for replacement?

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02985882.pdf
You can buy any quality 5,400 or 7,200 RPM notebook SATA II HDD of up to 500 GB and you should be fine.
7,200 RPM hard drives will perform better but use up your battery faster.

  • Problems with setting up my ISP's mail server in Windows Live Mail and Thunderbird

The laptop is a G60-535DX with Windows 7  64 bit. I've managed to setup my gmail account fine in Live Mail, but when setting  up my ISP' mail server, it doesn't work. I get the message that the information was entered correctly, and I see the 'connecting' at the bottom of the page, and then 'error', and clicking on it shows a socket error #10061. In Thunderbird, I get a timeout error message. I've entered all the incoming and outgoing server information correctly, (I've done this over 8-9 times now), the ports are the defaults(110,25), no SSL, no authentication. I've talked with my ISP several times. Just a couple of hours ago was the last time. Their only other possibilities were that Live Mail had problems with setting up more than one account, that Live Mail needed updating, that Windows 7 was a new operating system and there were 'kinks'. I removed the gmail account, set up the ISP's mail by itself; didn't help. I checked for Live Mail updates, but found out that they all come from Windows updates(which are current).  The folks on PCQ&A inform me that they have 3 or 4 accounts with Live Mail. I can get my mail, by logging onto my ISP's website, but that' kind of a nuisance. I posted this in Seven Forums and they didn't have any ideas. As I said, I also can't get my mail server to work in Thunderbird, either.  I don't know what else to try. (short of activating the recovery partition and starting from scratch). Any ideas would be more that welcome.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Nevermind, it's fixed. One of the guys on PCQ&A suggested going to my ISP's website to see if they had a support page. They did and it stated that under certain circumstances that for the login ID the whole email address should be entered. For XP and Outlook Express one only uses the first part of the email address (your name); so just for grins I entered the whole address, name and all and everyting worked. Called my ISP and was told that that wasn't the way it's supposed to work. Well----
    Thanks anyway,
