Mouse/touchpad problems on Lenovo U310

I recently purchessed a Lenovo IdeaPad U310 and it has a  three-finger, four-finger flick and a pinch zoom feature.  The finger flicks do not work anymore and it's only two or three weeks old. The four-finger flick horizontally would take me to a new screen orignally, one way being pictures and the other way being notes. It no longer does that when I swipe my four fingers. The three-finger flick would scroll up and down but it no longer works as well.  I went to the mouse/touch pad settings and it says that all three features are enable but it still does not work. Please help me fix this! Thanks

Hi,
did these problems occur after a driver update perhaps?
İf so rolling them back, may help.
İf you have a system restore point,to before this problem started,
please restore to that.İf not,
Try un-installing Synaptics touchpad from Device Manager
clean your hdd,
reboot even if you're not asked to do so.
Windows will re-install it
Also there should be a lever (slider)you can adjust there
play with it a bit, make sure to ''save changes''
Let us know how you go.

  • T500 Loose and Squeaky Palmrest and Mouse Touchpad Problem

I have a T500, two months now. When I got the unit there was the squeak in the base when I would pick it up or put pressure on the palmrest, mostly on the right side. The squeak is very loud and obvious.  Shortly into use, I noticed when I would type on the keypad, if I rested my palms on the palmrest, the mouse touchpad would become unusable and jump all over the screen when I tried to use it, if I remove my hands from the palmrest, the cursor (touchpad) works fine again. When I completed the customer survey, I wrote in one of the sections, (after having to go through customer service and completely reload the software due to wireless internet drop issues), that I was happy with the laptop, but that I was having an issue with the touchpad cursor freezing and jumping with pressure from palmrest, hopefully my observation (at the time, it was an observation, but since has become a major inconvenience and unacceptable issue) didn't fall on deaf ears.

Problem solved. So it seems that firefox was causing this problem - don't know why .
    EDIT:
Now I've got this mouse problem:
Sometimes when I press the scroll button the mouse stops working (then I can only use the touchpad) and even with the touchpad I can't click on the start menu, browser tabs etc.

  • My Lenovo G50 Mouse Touchpad isn't working

Hi, I updated to Windows 10 yesterday. I thought my laptop was working OK after the update, but I've noticed that my mouse touchpad doesn't work at all after the update. I hit the F6 button to turn the touchpad off and on, and it still isn't working. Can you help? Thank you!

Some touchpad has an ON/OFF switch. Tried tapping the upper-left corner of the touchpad twice. if you can see a light on the upper-left of the touchpad, it means it's off. tap the upper-left corner twice to enable it. hope this works

  • Many problems on Lenovo ThinkPad Twist

Hi! Yesterday I got my new Lenovo ThinkPad Twist 31,8 cm (12,5 Zoll) Convertible Ultrabook (Intel Core i5 3317U, 1,7GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 24GB SSD, Intel HD 4000, Touchscreen, Win 8).
At first i was very impressed about the notebook but then I realized, that it has many issues!
    I have the following problems:
    - no sound - if i want to make the sound to 100% it decreases the volume down to 0% again! Like anyone who wants to joke me! If i press the + volume button on the bottom right of the touchscreen, it cannot even increase the volume because it gets stuck somehow. There's also a window at the top left of the touchscreen, which is always visible (volume control) and i cant close it!
    - the onscreen-keyboard doesnt work in all modes
    - mouse touchpad doesnt work, only clicking works but no mouse movement!
    - the touchscreen works until it has this "no sound" issue. Then I have to tap on everything 3 or more times to open it!
    - the windows button under the touchscreen also doesnt work the way it meant to be. Instead it makes the screen darker, then brighter again!?
I have installed all updates what this lenovo-tool wanted to install. It was like 1 GB of updates. I think it even got worse with all the updates...
The main issue may be the no-sound bug. If i want to make it louder it makes it back to 0% volume. Thats really annoying. I hope you can help me, because this would be a very nice laptop but not with so many issues...
    Pleeeaase help me!

    Hi there,
    I recently bought a Thinkpad Twist and I love it. 500GB hard-drive, 24BmSTA and Windows 8.
However, I did have the following problems
touchpad mouse wouldn't work at all - I downloaded an update from the Lenovo site and it is working now although I find it a bit too sensitive for my liking so I need to see if I can change the sensitivity
keyboard suddenly changes so that when I type some keys they behave like shortcuts. I can only rectify this by restarting the laptop - I haven't found a solution for this yet

  • X120e Recurring Touchpad Problem (now warranty expired)

My x120e was bought in September 2011.  Just 9-10 months of ownership, the touchpad became erratic.  It was unresponsive and the left click button did not work.  I tried to update the drivers and played around with the settings, but nothing worked.  I had to use a mouse for the laptop to be functional.  Since I am working on the run, being tethered to a mouse was a nuisance.  Once I had a break that allowed me to part with my laptop for awhile, I sent it to a Lenovo service provider in August 2012  for repair under the warranty.  The service provider replaced the touchpad and it worked fine for 3 months until the same problem appeared again just 3 months later in November 2012.  Unfortunately, now the warranty has expired and I still have the same problem with a probelmatic touchpad.  Will Lenovo extend my warranty just to fix this particular problem since it was not fixed completely while the laptop was still under warranty?  Any help is appreciated as this issue is driving me nuts.

    Hey there mohican,
It is really unfortunate that the issue is reoccurring for you only three months outside of warranty, especially after such a recent repair. The best course of action that I recommend for you is to contact Lenovo's Customer Relations, explain what occurred, the repair, and the trouble you have had since. This way you can discuss with them what options you have, and where to go from here. The number for the US is 1-800-426-7378. Good Luck, and hope this assists you.

  • Touchpad problems YOGA 2

Hello, I have a problem with my touchpad on my Lenovo Yoga 2.I can see the cursor, but when I want to click right/left, or just move it, it doesn't work. (well, sometimes I don't even see the cursor... but anyway) I've already tried the F6 button, to activate the touchpad, but nothing either. When I tried to configurate the touchpad in the panel control, in "mouse" there's nothing, as if the computer didn't detect the presence of any touchpad...  If anyone can help me please ?? (and sorry for my english) Thank you !

Install the generic synaptic drivers. To install the latest driver (17.0.19), please do the following:
    1. Uninstall the old driver (you might need to copy the synaptic folder from "program folder" to "program folder (x86)" in order to uninstall the current driver).
    2. Disable signature enforcement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM1MN8QZhnk

  • Can't see dual monitor via HDMI on Lenovo U310

    Hi All.
I try to connect second monitor (NEC MultiSync EA232WMi) via DisplayPort to my Lenovo U310 HDMI port and it didn't work. The only I can see is a black screen on NEC and nothing more. I tried Fn+F10 to select output mode and standard Windows 7 resolution settings.
Maybe I should use HDMI-DVI instead of HDMI-DisplayPort cable or need to install additional drivers?
    Can anybody help with it?
    Thanks in advance!

Solved this problem by using HDMI -> DVI cable connection.

  • [SOLVED] Synaptics touchpad problem eeepc 1000HE

I installed Arch on my eeepc 1000HE yesterday and configured / used it happily for most of the day - but then it developed a touchpad problem which I'm struggling to fix.
If you lift your finger from the touchpad the mouse cursors 'forgets' / 'resets' its position.
eg When you put your finger back on the touchpad the cursor jumps to a different position. For one thing, this means you can't tap to click, because when you lift your finger to tap, the cursor jumps somewhere else (usually a slight move, but usually away from the item one wants to click).
Also, when needing a few swipes (eg to move the cursor left to right across the screen), the cursor jumps away from its current position (to the left - sort of back to its original starting position) each time I lift my finger to make the extra swipe.
The problem seems to have started when I had a tv plugged in via the vga and was managing screen switching with xrandr and the screen-switch function key (I'm trying to set up the eeepc as a mythtv frontend) but this could be coincidence.

I have commented out the touchpad section in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf  (un-commenting made no difference) -
    #Section "InputClass"
    #        Identifier "evdev touchpad catchall"

    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-synaptics.conf looks like this -
    Section "InputClass"
          Identifier "touchpad"
          Driver "synaptics"

                 Option "CircScrollTrigger" "2"
                 Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinZ" "0"

I thought the issue might be related to this https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/20830 , but adding MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*" to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-synaptics.conf didn't make a difference.
My Daemons array looks like this -
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng dbus !network wicd netfs crond lircd samba alsa !hal sshd gdm)
Removing the ! before hal made no difference.
I am using gnome. Changing the settings in  the /desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad/ folder with gconf-editor makes no difference to the problem.
I am using kernel 2.6.38-ARCH. Using the fallback kernel didn't help.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Update. After some more searching the forum I thought downgrading udev may help. Since I had a fresh install I needed to install the AUR downgrade package. I did a yaourt -Suy before doing so which, amongst other things, installed a new kernel (4-1) and upgraded yajl. When I tried yaourt -S downgrade I got an error re yajl - error while loading shared libraries libyajl.so.1, canot open shared object file, no such file or directory, and then "error: target not found: dowgrade".
    Any help really appreciated.

  • Macbook Pro mouse touchpad in Vista?

I just bought a Macbook Pro and because of certain applications that I need for work I have Vista Ultimate x64 running on Bootcamp. Everything works great except for the built in mouse touchpad. I can move the cursor fine but I can't tap on the touchpad itself to click. I have to use the click button which annoys the **** out of me. Is there a way to fix this so I can click using the touchpad itself or is this just one of those compatibility issues that I'll have to live with?

    Hi
Same problem... the touchpad functionality in Vista is really annoying, without tapping or right-clicking.
any chance someone has a solution for those two ??

  • Lenovo U310 Cache SSD is not user formattable!

Hi, I recently had to reformat the Lenovo U310 Hard drives. I used One Key Recovery to reinstall the operating system.
When I tried to reenable the SSD caching feature using the Intel Rapid Start Technology tool, the tool didn't indicate that the hard drive was being accellerated again.
When I went into the BIOS to check for problems under the Intel Rapid Start Technology section I see "iRST Status Invalid".
It seems like Lenovo has decieded not to implement Intels technology to spec, and to do its own proprietary implementation. The problem is, there is no way for the user to repartition the SSD! So you have to pay lenovo 90 dollars to buy the factory image...
This is an outrage to me, when I see features advertised like using the SSD to accellerate the main hard drive I assume this is something that can easily be enabled by the user.
I really hope Lenovo provides a free way of setting up the SSD, otherwise I will never buy Lenovo again. I advise anyone to avoid purchasing this Laptop unless you are comfortable paying 90 dollars just to reset your machine to its advertised features...
If anyone can help me with this problem it is greatly appreciated.

You really have to pay $90 for the factory image?  So are you saying... I can't do this unless I send it in?

  • Right mouse click problem on T60p with WIN-XP SP3

I have T60p model. After upgrading my WIN-XP to SP3 i am facing problem with Right mouse click. Right mouse click starts working as left click. Initially when I reboot my machine it works fine but after sometime I start getting above mentioned problem. I even installed the latest mouse drivers(ultranav) from Lenovo site. Has anyone got this same problem? Looks like Lenovo should fix this problem.
    Thanks in advance.

This isn't necessarily a driver problem, and it's not necessarily Lenovo's problem.
The primary and secondary mouse buttons can be switched by a program you are running, although it wouldn't seem that this is very likely.
Windows Start Menu | Settings | Control Panel | Mouse. This will take you to the Mouse PropertiesTabbed Dialog. Click on the Buttons tab. There you can see if the primary and secondary buttons are truly switched. If so, you can switch them back, without rebooting the machine.

  • SDHC cards not working anymore on Lenovo U310

    Hello,
The integrated SD card reader of my Lenovo U310 used to work fine until a couple of months ago.
However, now it does not read SDHC cards (it used to read them)! It reads fine standard SD cards, and also micro SDHC cards (using their adapter of course).
My girlfriend owns my same laptop and she has no problem at all! Her laptop has always read fine SDHC cards.
The device manager recognizes the SDHC card and if I go to “my pc” I cannot see it there unless I tick the “Hidden Items”.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers
Download and install the official “Alcor CardReader Driver” from the official Lenovo U310 support page
Comparing the drivers the computer uses with the drivers on my girlfriend computer and they are identical!!
Change the drive letter from disk management
    Format and re-installed Windows 8.1 64bits
    Nothing helped!
Please note that if I uninstall the drivers and re-insert the SDHC card, the computer plays the sound and install the drivers, but the card remains not accessible.

Is anybody able to help me?
    Thank you,

    Hello,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have tried 2 different SDHC cards:
    1. San Disk 16GB Class 10 (30MB/s)
    2. Toshiba 16GB Class 10
They both work on any other computer and cameras.
I also tested them on my girlfriend's computer (she owns exaclty the same laptop that I have, Lenovo U310).
Thus, the SDHC cards ar not faulty.
"make sure the port isn't blocked in the Y50". What do you mena exactly?
The reader works fine with standard SD cards, or with micro SDHC cards (using the adapter adapter).
I tried to use some partition manager but did not work. "Please insert a disk in D: .... "

  • AIR application object - mouse drag problem

    Hi,
We face the following problem. Attached herewith are code sample and simulation for the problem. Would be great if someone could help us.
Problem: Objects created in AIR application experience mouse drag problem.
To simulate the problem please execute the  sample application, a grey box (object) appears on the screen. Hold down left and right mouse buttons and drag the object and release both the mouse buttons. Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged.
Steps to Reproduce  - Hold down left and right mouse buttons and drag the object and later release both the mouse buttons. Notice Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged. Object stops to move along with mouse pointer after sometime, then move the mouse pointer to the object and see that it sticks to pointer again and gets dragged along with the pointer.
Actual Result - Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged.
Expected Result - Object should not stick to mouse pointer even after the mouse buttons are released.
Due to problems with uploading the attachment here, please send a email to the following email-id ([email protected]) and I shall send the attachment in response.
    Thanks in advance.

After some research, it seems this problem has been there for years with Bootcamp.  Hope Apple can develop a better touchpad driver soon.

  • B5400 Synaptics Touchpad Problem
