Mouse went dead on iMac

When trying to unplug speakers and moving the 21" monitor around, my mouse weny dead and I am getting all sorts odd messages trying to find either a track pad or a wifi mouse. What do you think happened?
1.Could the keyboard have become disconnected from the monitor?
2.I was trying to disconnect the speakers but just unplugged them from the speaker end. Is that enough to get the internal speakers to work, or do the plugs have to be out of the monitor?

1. Test your USB ports with another mouse or other USB device.
2. Test your mouse with another computer.
Then if you find that the iMac's USB ports are not working, reset the iMac's SMC as per > Resetting the System Management Controller except wait for 5 minutes in step 3 instead of 15 seconds.
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
3. Wait fifteen seconds. 5 minutes.
4. Attach the computer's power cord.
5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.

The only negative to not having the original drive will be the work needed to reinstall all the apps and reconfigure to your liking. You will also have to decide whether to stay on Lion (which you should update to 10.7.4, BTW) or bite the bullet and take a leap of faith on Mountain Lion.
In either case, to simplify matters you would do well to concoct a Lion or ML bootable installer on a USB stick. In either case, you need to get the corresponding installer downloaded onto the hard drive and, instead of running it to execute the install, extract the coveted InstallESD.dmg image from which you construct the bootable installer. On visiting the store we get only one reply you may write to Apple directely. we have the similar kind of problem with iPad which is being used by my wife Mr.Neelam Vij and paid Rs.16000/- to get it replaced within a year & 6months use. so in totality we have paid Rs.28500/- + Rs. 3000/- diagnostic charges.

Moreover, we have no information to contact whom. even the replace set has a warranty of only three month which further confirm that Apple itself is not confident wheather product will last after replacement for more then three month. Such kind of happening do not encourage anyone to recomend this product to anyone. Would appriciate a faster response to our problem if someone from Apple is going to read this email.

After ipod 4g went dead it will no longer turn on

after my ipod went dead i left in sitting for about a week and i tried charging after that and it wont even turn on. tried eveything. the comp wont even recognize it.

Make sure you don't have another copy of Lightroom actively running on your computer. If not, find your catalog file in Finder/Explorer. Look for a file with the same name, but with a .lock extension. delete that file. Now Lightroom should open the catalog again.

Now my phone is not charging, and is not showing on the computer as charging. It is completely dead and will not turn on. The connector cable works because I tested it using my ipod...
Please help. I don't have the apple support for this phone...

Without the apple support that greatly reduces your odds.

My external drive went dead after installing Leopard

Hey guys
I'm very bummed out, my external HD went dead after installing Leopard on my Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5. It was working perfectly fine before, had not a single problem with it but now, I've just lost all my work. I tried Disk Utility from the disc with no luck, it gave tons of errors and it say it couldn't be repaired. Now, it doesn't show up at all. Every single time I connect it I get a message saying the disk I inserted is not readable by the computer. This is a 200GB Maxtor external drive. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Any hardcore Software to retrieve my files? I'd appreciate if anyone can help me with this.

Movies are currently a one time download. Because of this, it is your responsibility to back them up so when something like this happens, you can simply copy them over the new drive.
You can't download them again with purchasing once again.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try using a differnt USB cord. Or hold down the power/home button together for 10 to 15 sec or until you see the apple logo and then release, wait for your phone to boot back up.

You aren't attached to a bluetooth headset or other device for some strange reason? Or even an automobile bluetooth, I have a friend that has this issue with his Prius because even when it is not running the bluetooth is still active and connects to his phone.

Shannon said she would connect me to someone who would set up an AUTO DRAFT initiated by Verizon Wireless. Well that task failed with miserable results and auto message came on my phone from Verizon Wireless stating that they could not help me and the line went DEAD. So now I am for YOUR HELP @ Verizon Wireless.

I'm very sorry to hear about any trouble setting up an Automatic Payment to come out of your account as expected! Was the Auto Pay set up directly through VZW? You can set this up directly by calling 866-868-3882. Keep in mind once the Auto Pay is set up, it may take a full 30 days to start deducting automatically.
If the automatic payment was set up through your bank or a third party, I do recomment speaking directly to them to make sure your settlement date is before your VZW due date.

Try the suggestions in this Apple document -> Troubleshooting iPhone hardware
Will not turn on, or will not turn on unless connected to power
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions.   If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage.   If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check    if the Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) in the headset jack or dock connector is activated or there are signs of corrosion or debris. Learn more about LCIs.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least 15 minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See   "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
If something other than the Home screen or Low Battery screen appears on the display, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, try resetting it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter. To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or the battery symbol appears.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Restore the iPhone.   Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
