Mouse zone detection.

I have 2 problemes
1- i have a circular menu, with a zoom effect when you hover on it, with the home button in the center, when you click the home button you load the page then reload the scene 1 ( menu idle ).
If i put nothing on the button itself on the scene 1, before the zoom effect, i need to move out of the button to trigger the other scritp there that detect the rollover and start the zoom in.
i want to have a special behavior for the home button on the idle state of the menu ( scene 1 ) , When you click the home button from anywhere else, you load back the page, then because the mouse is already on the home button, i want flash to do nothing, but at the second you start to move the mouse again ( remember you are still on the home button) i want it to start teh zoom effect again, not before.
Right now, it is either no zoom effect as soon the mouse is on top of it, or imediatly zoom in with the rollover....
And i know it is possible with a very simple command, but i forgot it... i did it before.
2- for the same menu, i will have a sub-menu unfolding when you click a certain button, that sub-menu is outside the main menu detection zone. Is it possible to make a shape, turn the alpha at 0, put it under the sub-menu, and use it as detection zone ?

Third probleme.. and you are going to like this one :
Right now the mouse cursor is a pointer when you are anywhere, save the buttons. When you are on the button, your cursor switch to a hand.
i have a lot of button, but i want to have one specific button to NOT have the hand cursor and still use the pointer.
How do i tell flash to put the pointer on the cursor on that specific button, and still put back the hand cursor on all the other one ?
I'm clueless on that one.

Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse - Flaky detection on startup

My 2009 MP regularly has trouble detecting the bluetooth keyboard and mouse on detection. Mouse will air after a minute or so buy keyboard is getting worse...
Anyone else see/solve this?

Have you tried reading the many other posts on this forum that talk about this issue? It seems that by default the services are not enabled for some peripheral devices. Try right-clicking the bluetooth icon, selecting "show my bluetooth devices" (or similar i dont ahve it in front of me), then right click the keyboard/mouse, go to the Services tab and make sure the services are enabled.

No usb mouse/keyboard detection on K8n Diamond

My logitech ultrax wireless media desktop ( infrared combined reciever, only one usb port) does not be detected with a computer reboot .
When i switch in the bios" usb mouse detection" at disable ( or !!) enable, it works for a while but a few reboots later is stops working again.
Already updated and reinstalled the driver.
someone with the solution ??

My first question is...why so many re-boots?
I have a wireless USB K/B and mouse similar to yours.
If my system ever froze (it no longer does this btw) on restarting the PC the K/b would not be seen in BIOS startup.
You can solve this by doing the following after turning off your PC.
Simply reach around the back of your PC and switch off the PSU power switch for at least 10 seconds.
Then turn it back on and power up the system using the regular power switch on the front of the case.
Voila...the system sees the keyboard...without the need for a CMOS reset.
It all has something to do with the PSU maintaining power to the USB ports/devices when the PC is shutdown...this is for components such as USB modems/routers or similar devices.
It takes a PSU power down to reset the relevant USB component circuitry.
Meanwhile, there might be an issue with your system stability if you keep having to reboot.

Automatic time zone detection

Hello, I'm having a problem detecting automatic time zone on a macbook air. If i set location detection on automatic it detects it in Moskow- Russia and it's about 900 kilometers from my current location (Toila-Estonia). It's i big problem, because new feature on iCloud that can show current location of mac shows my posision in Moskow. Any suggestions why it's so ?

This is happening to both my spouse (TURBO 32GB) and I (TURBO 64GB). The first time she noticed was three days ago. Her phone was correct at home (Pacific time zone), but when she got to Seatac airport, her phone was in Alaska time zone. Yesterday, I went downtown and my phone's time went back an hour and the time zone was set to Alaska. At home, it is correctly set to Pacific with correct time. It is correct right now, but her's is wrong right now (she's downtown). Seems like something wrong in the information the phone is receiving off the network, but could it be the phones? This wasn't happening a week ago. Thanks for any thoughts.

HT2347 USB mouse not detected

I just got my new Mac mini today and when trying to set it up, I keep getting asked to turn on my Magic Mouse or my trackpad. I didn't buy either yet, as I figured I would use my old wired mouse for now. Any thoughts on why it won't detect my mouse? Te mouse is getting power... The laser is red underneath.
Help!

Thanks RRFS, that's an interesting thought. The mouse is pretty old. I'll try something newer tomorrow... We'll see what kind of mood I'm in when I go to best buy. I might just suck it up and get the track pad now. Will let you know.

Bluetooth Wireless Mighty Mouse only detect one button click

I have had my Apple Bluetooth wireless Mighty Mouse for a little over a year and it has just recently began to only detect on button function, and cannot differentiate between left click, right click, or the scroll click.
It behaves slightly differently under different settings. When I have the scroll click set to do ANYTHING, any click on the mouse will do that respective action. When I have the scroll click turned off, and the left is set to primary and right is secondary, it will do the Primary action. When I have the left set to secondary, and the right set to primary, it will still do the Primary action.
I have looked all over the internet and have found very little help. The scroll wheel is fine so I don't really want to have to take it apart and glue it back together. Anybody know any tricks? Anything will help! Thanks!

I found a partial fix over on this thread.
Basically, the fix is to install the shareware program USB Overdrive and set up the buttons via its control panel. Then uninstall it.
In my case, USB Overdrive brings my mouse back to normal operation, but when I uninstall it, my mouse goes back to acting like a one-button mouse.
For now, I'll keep USB Overdrive installed. Maybe I can bill Apple for the $20!

Macbook pro Late 2011 13.3 inch i7 keyboard and trackpad not working bluetooth showing a cross sign and no usb mouse is detected. Almost dead keyboard and mouse. Earlier same problem used to be solved by opening the lower cover and closing it.

My macbook pro 13.3 inch i7 late 2011 edition has previously encountered unresponsive trackpad and keyboard. To solve that, I used to open the back cover and then close it. It has been working fine since that. Yesterday, same thing happened, this time I noticed that bluetooth icon is showing a cross sign across it and keyboard and trackpad were unesponsive. After some time , everything worked fine and bluetooth sign was back to normal. Then , suddenly it went back to the problem. I shut it down by holding the power button. When I booted it again, I could not login because keyboard and trackpad were not working. I attached a HP mouse it didnt work. I opened the back cover disconnected the battery and then connected it again, didnt worked. Since then , I have tried many things and nothing has solved the problem.

As you suggested I reset the smc, in the first boot nothing worked. In the second boot, it all worked like a charm. I thought that my problem is resolved now. To test it, I shut it down properly. Next morning, I powered it on, all things i.e, keyboard, trackpad, bluetooth etc. worked and I thought that problem has been solved. When I was just going to visit apple forum to reply you, the same problem reappeared. A sawtooth cross over bluetooth icon, keyboard not working, trackpad not working,no usb mouse working which worked well when it was fine. I reset smc so many times again and again but same problem continued. Isn't it a problem of the firmware?
Next time when it will work, I will update its firmware.
My macbook was bought in dec2011 so no warranty now.

PS2 mouse not detected on K7D

I have a green K7D but I cannot get the PS2 mouse port going on Windows 2000 or Linux Redhat 7.3.
I cannot see any bios or jumper settings for PS2 mouse.
Can anyone help?.

Bluetooth Might Mouse Not Detected in Boot Camp Windows XP

Title says it all. I'm using a Mac Book Pro. I've slid the bottom of the mouse open and closed and a dialog actually came up to enter the pass code. I did, it was successfully set up but my mouse won't move. I have to go to my track pad...

I got it to work. Just using Winblows...blows. I had to open and close the mouse & click and move with it about a thousand times and added it about a hundred times before it started to work. I'm sticking with my Logitech Laser Mouse.

Specifically I wonder if the AppleTV may be trying to connect with an unsupported resolution giving a black screen. Try cycling display resolutions using these remote commands in step 6:
If your TV screen appears fuzzy or black (you see no video)
Make sure the television you are using supports the Apple TV resolution requirements. Please see the Apple TV technical specifications.
When you connect power, check to make sure the LED turns on. If the LED is not on, then verify with a known good power outlet or connect something else to the outlet you're using for Apple TV and make sure it works (such as a lamp or clock).
Make sure you're using the correct video cables and that they are connected firmly to Apple TV and to your TV.
Connect the HDMI cable directly into the Apple TV and your television, remove any third party devices or adapters.
Make sure the input setting you've selected on your TV matches the input you have your video cables connected to. See the documentation that came with your TV for more information.
Change the Apple TV resolution by pressing and holding the Menu and Up button for six seconds. The Apple TV will automatically cycle to the next resolution at approximately 20 second intervals. Pressing the Select button will immediately cycle to the next resolution.
If you are connected via HDMI, try unplugging and replugging your HDMI cable.
If HDMI isn't working on an Apple TV (1st generation), try component cables instead (and disconnect the HDMI cable temporarily). Read more about HDMI vs component video.

Magic Mouse: Why Does It Need to Be Clicked When Restarting or Booting from Shutdown to Get Detected All the Time?

Hi. I'm using Snow Leopard via USB external drive (the hardisk is blank- testing something with Leopard). When I start the late 2009 iMac and boot with the Option Key, I need to click the Magic Mouse all the time so the mouse can be detected and move the cursor to the Snow Leopard icon ( in its boot menu ). After the Magic Mouse is detected, it's good from there.
Is this normal or there's something wrong with the Magic Mouse? The keyboard doesn't need to be pressed though to be detected, it's detected each time.

I cannot see why you should have to click the magic mouse in order for it to be detected ... unless you have changed the batteries. See my notes which cover the points made in your other recent post.
Batteries. Here are a few notes I've put together.
Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are more likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems.
Apple’s own brand, Eneloop and Energiser appear to be the best. Rechargeable batteries for the standard Magic mouse are unlikely to exceed eighteen days before needing a recharge although the mouse itself can be a limiting factor. I have seen reports that some Logitech mice vastly exceed this. Apple may suggest more in their sales blurb but this is a realistic expectation. The benefit (if you are organised) is that you can always have charged batteries available. Regular batteries will give you between 25 and 35 days before they need to be replaced. Note.
Never mix old and new batteries or rechargeable and regular.
The notes above are based on my personal experience, not shutting down my machine and using it for around four hours per day. Note. Monitors do not always faithfully report battery strength, particularly the rechargeable ones.
When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries ... Turn off the device. Remove the batteries, Clean the terminals both inside the battery compartment and the batteries themselves. Replace or renew both batteries. Turn on the device. You should get a blinking green light if the device is paired. Click the mouse to activate it. The green light becomes steady.

Update to nvidia 304.x - Mouse detected but frozen

I updated my system to the latest Nvidia drivers

when using the older 302.x Nvidia drivers, gpm at login, and then X both works. When switching to a 304.x Nvidia driver, nothing happens with gpm, and in X, the mouse stays visible, centered, and frozen.
I checked the X logs and xinput, and the mouse seems detected and shown as loaded/working, nothing unusual.
I tried downgrading other packages (linux kernel, going from testing to stable, ...), with no effect, so it seems to be caused by the nvidia driver alone.
Anything I may be missing ? I also tried posting on archlinuxfr forum, with no luck (I am told to downgrade nvidia, which also downgrades the linux kernel. I get errors when I downgrade now.)

thanks i didn't find that when i search. guess i have to wait for the newer driver. seems odd waiting for a new driver for a card more than 2 years old. thanks again.
