Mouse Zoom

Not crazy about the mouse wheel now zooming the sequence view if I put the pointer over the horizontal scroll bar.  The sequence scrolls pretty slow with the mouse anywhere else.  In previous versions, putting the pointer over the horizontal scroll bar would speed up the scrolling.  Now it zooms.
I don't like that.  We had + and - for zoom.  I want the faster scrolling back.

But that's not now nor has ever been the "scroll bar".  That's the Work Area Bar.
I knew that ...
I mostly edit TVCs which are from 15 to 60 secs long.  Never have to move very far in a timeline to navigate the entire program.
Zooming from the real scroll bar will be very helpful to me.

  • Mouse zooming lags since 10.5.6

    Hello,
I often use the mouse zooming-feature in Mac OS X, but after the update now, I'm experiencing lags and it doesn't work smooth.
Has anyone a guess, what this could cause? I already repaired the permissions and checked the volume.
    Greetings from Germany!

Is there no one, who has a solution for this?

  • Mouse Zoom with remote client

Is there any way to perform a mouse zoom (hold down CONTROL and scroll up or down on the mouse) with the remote client? When I try this, it just zooms the screen on my own Mac.
    Thanks.

Remote Clients do not have to run in a J2EE server. All you need is the j2ee.jar and your app server's required runtime jar file(s) e.g oracle9iAS(oc4j.jar) and the .properties files.
Let me know if you need any more information.

  • How to keep the image centered in the window when mouse zooming in cc 2014

I,m not able to keep the image centered in the window when using the mouse scroll wheel for zooming.

Ctrl + and - keys are meant for "center zoom".  As far as I know, the zoom tool is a "point zoom" tool. If you move the zoom tool with your mouse, it will zoom in on that part of the image.
Also Ctrl 0 is "fit to screen" and Ctrl 1 is 100% zoom. (Use Cmd if this is a Mac)

  • Magic mouse zoom quit working

My magic mouse won't zoom all of a sudden, even in Safari...any clues?

Yes, I have had this problem ever since I upgraded to Yosemite. Resetting the PRAM does not work. I repeat, resetting the PRAM does not work. That is the only answer I have been given too. Apple needs to get a patch quick. This is an operating system issue!!!

  • How do I get mouse zoom to work in Lion?

After upgrading to Lion, the CTRL-Scroll doesn't work, even though it appears to be enabled in the "System Preferences".
Here is what I have enabled, in the Mouse settings:
And in the Universal Access settings:
I've tried enabling, disabling, etc. Nothing seems to work. When I turn on "Zoom in Window" in the Universal Access settings, the zoom works, but only in a little window. I'd like to zoom the entire screen like in Snow Leopard..
    Any suggestions?

After reading and trying all the suggestions in this thread I found that all were tempoary, the bug keeps coming back and the only solution (so far) is to restart the computer. This is unacceptable so I searched for a third party solution.
There is a utility called Point N See that is Lion compatible. It provides a simple zoom in a window. It's not as elegant as the native zoom but it works. Find it at http://customsolutionsofmaryland.50megs.com/pointnsee.htm/.

  • After Mavericks, mouse-zoom won't work.

I installed Mavericks last night as a way of fixing a Safari problem.
I have become accustomed to using the [control] key on my keyboard while swiping vertically on my mouse to quickly zoom in on my screen - until now.
The zoom feature isn't working - and it doesn't appear to be something I can re-assign in the mouse or keyboard settings.  I use this feature a LOT, and need it back.
    Any suggestions?

My Apple mouse also JUST quit zooming. I am running Maverick/iMac Quad and have already tried the zoom feature on Accessibility.
The only choices there are for keyboard shortcuts & scrolling, keyboard focus.
The Mouse options are similarly irrelevant.

  • Mouse zoom function

I use a cordless Logitech TrackMan Wheel mouse. When I'm browsing the internet I sometimes accidentally "select" a picture or object. The next time I use my scroll wheel the image or object's size changes. How do I turn this feature off? I looked in the mouse preference and didnt' find anything there. My Zoom preference in Universal Access is turned off. What can I do? This drives me crazy!! Thanks fo r your help.

    1. You did not state what Web browser you are using as I asked above. Still not sure if this is an anomaly with the trackball, OS, LCC, or browser.
    2. I can't reproduce the behavior in either OmniWeb (my browser of choice) or Safari. If I right click anywhere on or in the Apple logo you cite, I see the usual contextual menu, not "a dotted line around the box" — whatever "box" you mean, unless you mean the "tab" as in a file-folder tab on which the logo is placed. I'm surprised you're not seeing a contextual menu when you right-click on the logo.
    3. Have you:3.1. Checked the right-click settings for your mouse in the LCC preference pane?
3.2. Trashed all of the com.logitech.* preferences in your Home > Library > Preferences folder, then reconfigured your trackball?
3.3. Tried a different mouse?4. Some general troubleshooting ideas you can apply:4.1. Check your account's preferences with Preferential Treatment.
4.2. Do you have a second user account defined on your system? If so, log in to it and see if the problem happens there. If it does, it is probably a system-wide problem. If not, it is something with your user account. If you don't have a second account on your system, you can create a new one using System Preferences > Accounts. See "Mac OS X 10.4 Help: Adding a new user account to your computer."
    4.3. Try a different browser.
    4.4. Trash your browser's preferences.
4.5. An errant Startup or Login Item maybe the cause. My "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is causing the problem.
4.6. Immediately after the problem occurs, check the ends of these Console logs for clues.
    Good luck!

  • Magic Mouse Zoom

Having trouble zooming with Magic Mouse. Working within an application like Sketchup, I used to be able to zoom in and out continuously using the scroll wheel on a conventional mouse. But with the new Magic Mouse, no similar function seems to exist. Screen zooms and two finger taps to move in and out just don't cut it. Any advice?

If your preference screen has changed then it's probably a conflict with a 3rd party driver.  USBoverdrive is one that causes this.  Your prefpane should look like this.  The control Scroll zoom is controlled the the Accessibility prefpane.

  • Magic mouse zoom with ctrl

    Good day,
I am new with mac and I am trying to use the zoom with the magic mouse and the ctrl button, really not easy...
on excel/word: alt + cmd + scrolling up & down executes zooming in and out of the excel table (only).
but on the picture viewer/safari: ctrl + scrolling up & down executes zooming in and out of the complete screen (and not only the picture) without possibility to move the view (and this is possible only if the option is selected in preferences/accessibility/zoom: allow zoom with scrolling and selected button).
Would someone know how to activate the zooming with ctrl and mouse scrolling but only of the content of a window and not of the complete screen?
    Thank you in advance.
    Rodolphe

    Hello:
According to the guidance in system preferences>mouse double tapping with one finger does it.  I just tried it and it works here.
I also note the right clicking opens a menu.

  • Mighty MB112ll/B apple mouse Zoom problem.

I have mighty MB112ll/B apple mouse model (A1152), using it on mac pro. I want to do Zoom in & out by this mouse, but I could not! how do I activate zoom function.

Sorry for delay in getting back, I have since installed a fresh copy of Leopard and tested how the mouse copes and still exactly the same. I am pretty certain it is permanently down as the ball is a lot lower down than it used to be. Will have to call Apple by looks of it. Hopefully the phones won't be quite as busy as they were at the end of last week.

  • Mac mini & magic mouse zoom

Does anyone know if it's possible to set the magic mouse to zoom the screen in/out solely by by using a finger gesture?
Currently I have to hold the control key on the keyboard and then single finger swipe up on the magic mouse to zoom in and down to zoom out. I'd rather set the mouse to perform the function that's useful to me, as in this case I have the mac mini set up with my living room TV. It's a 52" Toshiba HD and looks amazing but it's 12' away and I have a frequent need to zoom and I'd like to do it by using the mouse only and not have to also use the keyboard.
Thanks in advance to all you Mac geniuses...

Try something like MagicPrefs (http://magicprefs.com/) or Better Touch Tool (http://boastr.net/)
Both are very customizable and there seems to be lots of debate as to which is better.

  • Activing Mighty Mouse "Zoom using" and "Scrolling options" prefs

    According to:
    http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/software.html
there should be "Zoom using scroll ball... " and "Scrolling options" popups in Mouse preferences, but I only see:
I'm running 10.4.7 and ran the Mouse software installer. How do I get these additional options to appear?
    PowerBook G4/1.67 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   7200rpm 100 GB HD, 2 GB RAM

The 10.4.8 update adds the scroll-wheel zooming
    feature for all mice.
Really? It hadn't done so on my Mac. I ran the usual privileges, etc., routines beforehand. I can't even recall it being mentioned in the release notes or their detailed specs. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304200
Anway, 10.4.8 didn't affect a change to the keyboard/mouse pref on my PPC so I used Pacifist to get at the additional MM features.
