  • Safari gives "Missing Plug-in" message only on .mov to .flv converted files

I've converted an iMovie file to .flv but when I try to view I get a "Missing Plug-In" message. Though I have no problem viewing Youtube or any other flash videos. Could you please try my link below. If you can view it, it tells me the problem is with my Safari. If not, then there's a problem with my converted video file. Please help me narrow this down. Here's the link. Thank you.

I've used 2 different 3rd party converters. iSkysoft iMedia Converter Deluxe & Flv Crunch but only their trial versions. Wanted to see if it works before I purchase. Could that be the issue. When I try to get file info, I only see a blank page as the icon unlike, for example the icon you see when you get info. on a Quicktime video file. Also, the "preview" option on file info. does not work, which could be telling me that there's something wrong with the converted file. Were you able to view the flash video on my link?

  • Converting .mov to .flv

I recently converted a .mov file to a flv. When I upload the
original .mov to the flv converter, the compress audio box is
grayed-out. The original mov has audio, but when I covert the mov,
the new flv file does not have it. How do I get the audio to
    compress with the flv?

You might have a muxed Mov file. Try the free
www.mediaconvert.com and see if it works.
You can also download MPEG Streamclip for free and that baby
    converts a ton of ways.

  • Converting movie to .FLV for internet?

I'm making much progress developing movies in Imovie, but now I want to try and post them to our Web site.
We have set up an .FTP site, but need to convert the movie to .FLV to post it.
Can I do this with Imovie, or do I need to purchase a Sorensen Squeeze-type product.
    Thanks,

for creating FlashVideo, you need 3rd party tools, your options are...:
    Adobe's Flash, the Original, 699$
    Video2swf, shareware, 45$
... probably, there are other tools allowing the conversion of dv/mov to flv... search the usual suspects as versiontracker.com et al....
    helpful?

  • Mov to flv

I want to upload a home video to a site that only accepts .flv. My movies are .mov.
Is there any conversion program that will convert .mov to .flv?

Happens that I came looking for an answer to the same question. Saw the "export as H264" idea. Tried it. It wouldn't play in the program to which I uploaded it. Maybe it has to do with the "Flash 9" issue mentioned -- dunno.
I am aware of "free" sites where the conversions can be done and I have used them. But I am now looking to do quite a bit of these conversions and I am looking to download a good converter. Looking (obviously) for best price and quality of product.

using Dreamweaver the movie seems to play fine but about half way
through, the audo drops out but the video keeps going. I tried
medium and high coversion but the same thing.
    Any ideas?

    Welcome to the forums.
    (PAL 1024kbps / 29fps / 500x280)
    That's weird, PAL is 25fps 720x576.

  • A collection of FLV downloader, FLV player, and FLV converter for Mac

A collection of FLV downloader, FLV player, and FLV converter for Mac
Are you prepared to download FLV videos from YouTube, Google Video, metacafe, Yahoo! Video, Reuters.com, and many other video websites to play on your Mac or portable players, or do some further editing with certain editors? In my experience, assuming you have this idea, you must take advantage of three kinds of tools, including FLV downloader, FLV player, and FLV converter to achieve the goal.
Of course, I am not speaking this to depress you, but to share my collections of these tools to show my kindness. Sure, just for people who have these needs.
At first, I’ll introduce you several FLV downloaders for Mac, I have tried all of them, and basically they can achieve my goal of downloading FLV videos online.
    Free FLV downloaders for Mac:
    Web Video Downloader for Firefox
    Free Video Downloader for Mac
    Free YouTube Downloader for Mac
I also know some free FLV players, and recommend them to you here, hope they can assist you to play FLV videos on your Mac smoothly.
Free FLV player, Mac OS X:
    Adobe Media Player
    Wimpy FLV Player
QuickTime, after installation of the Perian video plugin
    SWF & FLV Player
    CorePlayer
(Tip: the above pieces of software can easily be searched in Google, so I do not give you the links here. I’m sure you can get them with ease.)
Well, we have gone through the FLV downloaders and FLV players in the above passages, now it’s time to introduce you a FLV converter for Mac. This program I recommend is Pavtube FLV Converter for Mac, which can perfectly convert FLV videos to a wide range of video formats, so that you can do whatever you like with the resulted videos, such as playing on your iPod, iPhone, BlackBerry, PSP, Apple TV, etc. or exporting to iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express to do further editing, or doing something else as you like. But how to use it? You may ask me. Take it easy, a step-by-step instruction is involved in the following part.
    1. Download, install and run this program
A sky-blue interface will be shown to you as follow:
    2. Add files, set output format and destination folder
Input FLV files to it by clicking button “Add”, and select a format as the output format in the drop-down list of “Format”, meanwhile, you can press “Browse” to specify the destination folder or just use the path set by default.
    3. Set advanced settings
Click button[b] “Settings”, the following interface will pop up. You can change the parameters like screen size, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, etc. to optimize the output videos.
    4. Convert
This FLV Converter for mac can definitely complete the conversion at a swift speed with excellent quality, also it do not have the problem of audio-video out of sync. Therefore you need not worry about these issues. Moreover, if you want to add watermark as your own logo or reserve your copyright, you can totally do it with this program.
Ok, the introduction to the three kinds of tools which you may need while dealing with FLV videos is over, sincerely hope they can deliver you useful information, because you know, it’s my original intention.

    Hi Greg,
So if I understand correctly, your findings are:
Flash Player 10.1.85.3 + Flash Media Interactive Server = Jerky Video
Flash Player 10.0.x.x + Flash Media Interactive Server = Smooth Video
Flash Player 10.1.85.3 + Wowza = Smooth Video
And what about Flash Player 10.0.x.x + Wowza?
Also, if you could check the network traffic to confirm if it's Flash Player causing the issue or it is receiving it like that from FMIS.
    Cheers

  • Converting Mov to FLV audio loss

    Hi all,
This might be something someone could help me think. The problem I seem to be encountering is a loss of audio in the later quarter of videos converted into an flv from a quicktime mov (PAL 1024kbps / 29fps / 500x280), this typically happens on a file durration of upto 2 or 3mins. It doesnt happen when converting from a wmv, (also trying an AVI) although the outputed quality tends to be a lot less clearer using some of these other formats. Interestingly, when previewing the MOV in a quicktime player theres no signs that this will happen / no loss of audio / no blips in the frames around the later of the vid. Both the On2 VP6 or Sorrenson Spark cunjor the same fault.
I would love to here someones take on this
    Many thanks
    Matt

  • Convert mov to flv, fla

I have many mov files that I want to convert to Flash movies.
IS there a way to batch process these somehow?

actually i have all the fla and swf already made...that
should still work, right? the swf just calls up the flv and fla,
    right?

  • Audio off when converting from mov to flv

I have an mov file that I am trying to convert with the media encoder, but when I run it through, it throws off the audio just slightly. I have tried converting to flv and mp4 with the same results. What is causing this? Can I fix it? I need to be able to convert the file so I can use it in a Captivate project.

I resolved the issue.  I googled the issue and the answer was right there. Turns out that one audio clip (out of dozens in the project) was somehow corrupted. A small yellow triangle was the indication.  Once I deleted that clip all of the other audio came back into the project.  I simply pasted a fresh version of that audio clip into the project and the all was not lost.

  • Convert .mov to .flv

Can QuickTime Pro convert a .mov file to .flv?
If not, can you recommend a program (hopefully an Apple one) that can do this successfully.
I have tried a bunch of them, Reva, Wondershare, etc. and have been disappointed in the translation.
    Thanks,
    Doug

Can QuickTime Pro convert a .mov file to .flv?
    No. It can't.
The best products for creating Flash video comes from Adobe (new owners of Macromedia).

  • Suggestions for converting movies to flv/flash?

Can anyone recommend a software to convert .mov and mp4 videos to flash? I have adobe video encoder cs4 which people swear by from articles I read, however I do not see where I can add a player nor add a thumbnail for the first frame.
I need something that will produce high quality videos and give me the option to select the thumbnail shot and player selection while not being overly expensive.
    Thanks

It feels like you are mixing several unrelated objectives hoping that there is a single solution.
    1. Video encoders like the one that comes with Flash do just that - encode videos into a format that can be read by Flash player (NetStream class).
    2. In order to edit video you need a video editing software (iMovie, Final Cut, etc.) - these programs have nothing to do with Flash.
    3. Video CANNOT be converted to Flash code.
    4. Thumbnails: you need to write an ActionScript code to display thumbnails.
