Movable Type and 10.4.9

After upgrading to 10.4.9 MovableType (3.31 and 3.34) began complaining whenever someone tried to comment about
Undefined subroutine &MIME::Words::decode_mimewords called at lib/MT/Mail.pm line 38
As far as I could tell, something about my PERL installation didn't look right to MovableType. I couldn't figure it out, so I restored my backup of 10.4.8 and things are back to normalish.
I don't expect anyone to audit MT's code, but does anyone have a guess about why MT could not find the subroutine in 10.4.9 but was fine with it in 10.4.8?

Can no longer toggle to enlarge Twitter embed box; can no longer select category on Movable Type; works for other browsers.

I can no longer enlarge the Twitter embed box or even select and scroll in order to copy and paste all the code. Also, in Movable Type I can no longer select the category for our entries. So "boxes" aren't working. They do work in Safari, so it looks like a browser issue. I'm on Firefox 16.0.1 and Mac OS X 10.7.5. Problem just started on October 12.

You may have a problem with the "can't delete" or it may have been an isolated out of synch condition.
I have noticed that the "express" watch/delete process only works when you watch from oldest to newest.
also,there is that ridiculous extra step where it alerts you that there are no more episodes left. How about replacing that with an episode counter that tells how many are left when given the choice to watch more.
After the last one, just move on like it works for everything else. Whoever had the idea to add the "no more" message must have done it intending to iritate cusrtomers. That is the only possible reason for it.

How to install Movable Type?

I want to move a Movable Type installation from a Linux server to OS X Server (Mountain Lion, Server 2.1.1). However, it appears that the standard httpd.conf file is not to be touched, and the preferred method is to make changes to some subordinate file. Has anyone installed Movable Type on Mountain Lion server, and if so, how and where did you enter the settings to allow the cgi and php to function proeprly?

the configuration template is only visible, if the usage type "DI" is active for the system. Note 1142136 explains how to activate usage types manually. Should work for 7.10/7.11, too.

Golive-movable type- dreamweaver???

I'm a long time GoLive user and although I have Dreamweaver installed I haven't actually built a site in it *yet*.
That's a preface- not the problem. Well not the most pressing and present problem.
The problem is a returning client who hired another designer who put everything into movable type. Now they've come back to me. Oh joy.
I have access to the ftp- I've downloaded the site (all 9800 items) and I'm trying to sort it out so that I can do a simple template and blog.
It's a mess.
I would appreciate any help- and if any of you out there have done this type of migration previously I would be *thrilled* to subcontract a portion of the work.

I can help you with this. I've been a user of MT since day 1. What version is the site built with? Ver 4x uses a templating system that's rather arduous to figure out at first, but it's a great system. The 3x version is much easier to work with.

Creation of Business Partner with External BP #,ID type and Identifications

I have a query on creation of Business Partner with External BP #,ID type and Identification # (along with the Firstname,Lastname,Email, Phone & etc.,) things.
the thing is that I was using a BAPI called "BAPI_BUPA_FS_CREATE_FROM_DATA", to create a BP and I was not able to have an option available for these things (External BP #,ID type and Identification # ) along with that BAPI.
So please kindly let me know how these things can be fetched from a BAPI which can accomodate all the above things mentioned.

Infact this reply was very useful, but ,while using the BAPI "BAPI_IDENTIFICATION_ADD" while creating the Id type and Id #s, this BAPI was not enabling this.
I was trying to use this BAPI to create ID #, and it's desc, but, this BAPI was returning like "This BP # does not exist" (in some cases) and in some other cases, it is keeping quiet without giving any indication as whether the things have been updated or not... and also when I checked, things were not getting reflected.

The data type attributes of a data element can be defined by:
Specifying a domain whose attributes are copied by the data element.
Specifying a build-in type where the data type, number of places, and possibly decimal places can be directly specified.
Specifying a reference type, i.e. reference to a class, an interface, a type defined in the Dictionary, a built-in type, or a generic reference to ANY or DATA.
In the maintenance screen you can set the option you require by setting the appropriate flag (domain, built-in type, reference type) and filling in the corresponding input fields.
A reference type is a reference to another type. There are the following kinds of reference types:
Reference to a class or an interface
Reference to a type defined in the Dictionary
Generic reference to ANY, OBJECT, or DATA
Reference to a built-in Dictionary type with specification of the length and possibly also the decimal places
You can use a reference type to define the data type properties for a data element, or for typing the component of a structure or the line type of a table type.
In the field Referenced type, enter the name of a class, an interface, the generic references DATA, OBJECT, ANY, or the name of a type defined in the Dictionary. If the reference type is to be a predefined Dictionary type, choose the reference to the predefined type. Enter the number of characters and, if required, the number of decimal places.

I am making the BC-XAL program.
Reading `XAL_Interface_Documentation_11.pdf', now I succeeded in "Reading All Saved Monitor Sets" and "Reading All Monitors of a Monitor Set". but I can't find the type and the length of the member of the Structure BAPITNDEXT, so I cannot get the Monitoring Tree of a Monitor.

_Data Types and Data Objects_
      Programs work with local program data that is, with byte sequences in the working memory. Byte sequences that belong together are called fields and are characterized by a length, an identity (name), and as a further attribute by a data type. All programming languages have a concept that describes how the contents of a field are interpreted according to the data type.
      In the ABAP type concept, fields are called data objects. Each data object is thus an instance of an abstract data type. There are separate name spaces for data objects and data types. This means that a name can be the name of a data object as well as the name of a data type simultaneously.
Data Types
   As well as occurring as attributes of a data object, data types can also be defined independently. You can then use them later on in conjunction with a data object. The definition of a user-defined data type is based on a set of predefined elementary data types. You can define data types either locally in the declaration part of a program using the TYPESstatement) or globally in the ABAP Dictionary. You can use your own data types to declare data objects or to check the types of parameters in generic operations.
     All programming languages distinguish between various types of data with various uses, such as .. type data for storing or displaying values and numerical data for calculations. The attributes in question are described using data types. You can define, for example, how data is stored in the repository, and how the ABAP statements work with the data.
Data types can be divided into elementary, reference, and complex types.
a. Elementary Types
These are data types of fixed or variable length that are not made up of other types.
The difference between variable length data types and fixed length data types is that the length and the memory space required by data objects of variable length data types can change dynamically during runtime, and that these data types cannot be defined irreversibly while the data object is being declared.
Predefined and User-Defined Elementary Data Types
You can also define your own elementary data types in ABAP using the TYPES statement. You base these on the predefined data types. This determines all of the technical attributes of the new data type. For example, you could define a data type P_2 with two decimal places, based on the predefined data type P. You could then use this new type in your data declarations.
b. Reference Types
Reference types are deep data types that describe reference variables, that is, data objects that contain references. A reference variable can be defined as a component of a complex data object such as a structure or internal table as well as a single field.
c. Complex Data Types
Complex data types are made up of other data types. A distinction is made here between structured types and table types.
Data Objects
      Data objects are the physical units with which ABAP statements work at runtime. The contents of a data object occupy memory space in the program. ABAP statements access these contents by addressing the name of the data object and interpret them according to the data type.. For example, statements can write the contents of data objects in lists or in the database, they can pass them to and receive them from routines, they can change them by assigning new values, and they can compare them in logical expressions.
       Each ABAP data object has a set of technical attributes, which are fully defined at all times when an ABAP program is running (field length, number of decimal places, and data type). You declare data objects either statically in the declaration part of an ABAP program (the most important statement for this is DATA), or dynamically at runtime (for example, when you call procedures). As well as fields in the memory area of the program, the program also treats literals like data objects.
        A data object is a part of the repository whose content can be addressed and interpreted by the program. All data objects must be declared in the ABAP program and are not persistent, meaning that they only exist while the program is being executed. Before you can process persistent data (such as data from a database table or from a sequential file), you must read it into data objects first. Conversely, if you want to retain the contents of a data object beyond the end of the program, you must save it in a persistent form.
Declaring Data Objects
      Apart from the interface parameters of procedures, you declare all of the data objects in an ABAP program or procedure in its declaration part. These declarative statements establish the data type of the object, along with any missing technical attributes. This takes place before the program is actually executed. The technical attributes can then be queried while the program is running.
     The interface parameters of procedures are generated as local data objects, but only when the procedure is actually called. You can define the technical attributes of the interface parameters in the procedure itself. If you do not, they adopt the attributes of the parameters from which they receive their values.
ABAP contains the following kinds of data objects:
a. Literals
Literals are not created by declarative statements. Instead, they exist in the program source code. Like all data objects, they have fixed technical attributes (field length, number of decimal places, data type), but no name. They are therefore referred to as unnamed data objects.
b. Named Data Objects
Data objects that have a name that you can use to address the ABAP program are known as named objects. These can be objects of various types, including text symbols, variables and constants.
Text symbols are pointers to texts in the text pool of the ABAP program. When the program starts, the corresponding data objects are generated from the texts stored in the text pool. They can be addressed using the name of the text symbol.
Variables are data objects whose contents can be changed using ABAP statements. You declare variables using the DATA, CLASS-DATA, STATICS, PARAMETERS, SELECT-OPTIONS, and RANGESstatements.
Constants are data objects whose contents cannot be changed. You declare constants using the CONSTANTSstatement.
c. Anonymous Data Objects
Data objects that cannot be addressed using a name are known as anonymous data objects. They are created using the CREATE DATAstatement and can be addressed using reference variables.
d. System-Defined Data Objects
System-defined data objects do not have to be declared explicitly - they are always available at runtime.
e. Interface Work Areas
Interface work areas are special variables that serve as interfaces between programs, screens, and logical databases. You declare interface work areas using the TABLES and NODESstatements.
What is the difference between Type and Like?
Answer1:
TYPE, you assign datatype directly to the data object while declaring.
LIKE,you assign the datatype of another object to the declaring data object. The datatype is referenced indirectly.

Type is a keyword used to refer to a data type whereas Like is a keyword used to copy the existing properties of already existing data object.

Standard Report with Condition Type and Condition Records

Hello to all,
Is there any standard report available in which Condition Type and Condition values are displayed in either column or row format? The selection criteria can be either Quotation, Contract, Sales Order, Delivery, Invoice or Billing. Thanks anyways...

Pls check the relevant table where the condition records are stored. then do a query with that condition table and KONP. say for eg: condn type ZINV,ZMRP gets stored in condition table A821, then combine A821 and KONP, u can input condition type and get the values........................
go to vk13, display and click on layout, u will able to see the condition table.

Future buyer of W530 with questions on screen type and GPU.

Hey guys,
I'm contemplating buying a W530 laptop to replace my aged Acer Aspire 5517. Anyway, I have some questions regarding screen type and graphics cards. One, my current Acer has a 16x9 HD screen that works perfectly fine for me, unless I go outside, so is it really worth the extra 200 bucks to upgrade to the 1920x1080 screen, or is that just overkill? same question regarding making a choice between the NVIDIA Quadro K1000M or K2000M, again, is it worth the money and what"s the biggest difference? Now I'm not a hardcore gamer, I mostly surf the web, do my work, and play a few games that are not really too demanding on the GPU.

The 1920 x 1080 screen offered on the W530 is one of the best TN panels on the market so it's a worthwhile upgrade. Upgrading from a K1000M to a K2000M isn't a good idea unless you either spend a good amount of time playing games (or want higher settings playable) or need the extra power for CAD.
On my W530 , I upgraded the screen to the 1080P one and kept the K1000M GPU.
