I'm a little confused. I moved a house to nerest city , when I checked the availability of infinity and as shown by entering the zip code is available, I ordered a technician to connect my new home to the Internet. I have an appointment on 16 may 2014 . Now I tried to check in more detail and shows me that I can not have infinity here. If I entered the postal code shows that I can have infinity and as I add the house number is only brodband 5.5 mb . Now i have 5 pc users and this is really not enough speed for that amount of computers . If I do not get infinity is just better to give up entirely with BT. Please advice.

if you cannot get fibre with BT then you won't get fibre with any other ISP. only aternative is cable if that is available to your address.
As a post code can be serviced by more than 1 cabinet and not all cabinets are fibre enabled the only certain way to know if fibre available is with the phone number. If you don't yet have a phone number ythen you should try a neighbour at your new home and use their phone number

Have you tried stopping the movie and trying to start it again.
Unfortunately you cannot re-download rentals. If the problem continues, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History.

Home sharing steam cuts out when I move around house from one Airport router area to another

Happens with iphones, ipad or macbooks. I have 3 Airport routers, Mac Mini with itunes library and home sharing enabled and working fine on all devices. If I move around the house I lose my Home Sharing stream. When I try to reconnect I am told I am "unble to connect to the resources". If I switch the shared library to the local device and then switch back to the Mac Mini library it reconnects and streams. If I move again to another area of the house I lose the stream again. Please help.

I never noticed these issues prior to upgrading to Yosemite.
That is because you didn't have them before you downgraded to Yosemite.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Go back to your older OS.. it is much better.. think of it as an upgrade.
Wait until apple debug the latest greatest OS and the beta testers, early users have all bleed out.. since they live on the bleed edge of life.
You can try a clean install.. that can help.. but IMHO it is still not worth the effort until you buy a new laptop.
Just look at the discussion area for huge amount of angst since Yosemite arrived.. especially with wireless dropouts.

This is a ditto... but Inserting Camtasia movies (MP4-Flash) into Captivate (a path or JS challenge)

I’m using Captivate v. 6 and Camtasia v. 8
I’ve created Camtasia movies as MP4 – Flash.
My Captivate project is a SCORM housed on an LMS (SyberWorks) for the company’s internal intranet.
In Captivate I’ve inserted/imported movies as Event Videos, Progressive Download with a playbar/skin.
Movies are housed on same directory level as the .html and .swf zipped files.
Path to video files are relative (ie)
Z:\Orgs\ogslp\Courses\2012DfltPrvnt\Test 6 Flash with controller2.mp4
I did find the following note on Adobe’s site:
Note: If your Adobe Captivate project contains FLV/F4V files, ensure that the files contain metadata for the video player to function correctly. FLV/F4V files created with Flash Communication Server 1.5.2, FLV Exporter version 1.2, and Sorenson Squeeze® 4.0 automatically contain metadata. Sorenson Squeeze 4.0 is included with the Flash Video Kit. If you import an FLV file that does not have any metadata, the file will not play correctly in your project.
and am waiting for the IT department to get a copy of Adobe Media Encoder so I can embed javascript into my mp4/Flash Movies.
The movies of course play very well off my hard drive, but not off the LMS, a deja vu from the link below.
So… is my issue a path issue or do I simply need to embed javascript into my video(s), or perhaps both?

And PS, why are no videos showing up in the video manager? I can see them in the author slides, but not in the manager.

This is a reply to my own message. A work around that will allow our team to move forward is to make a screen capture of a screen capture. We have content experts who are equipped with Camtasia. These folks will make their narrated movies. I'll then capture their movies with Captivate's screen capture by following: Insert > Recording Slide. Google Chrome of course has the Flash player installed by default so I open the mp4 (M4V) or FLV movie via Chrome and use Captivate's Recording Slide, choose Video Demo option. This gets me a Camtasia screen capture into Captivate. Import audio on its own and it matches up with my test of a movie 1 minute long (longer videos might slip out of sync - will test this).
However, the movie does not have the convenient playbar attached, so video navigation/control can be gained via a Captivate playbar for the slide itself. This offers a double set of navigation options b/c I also created my own set of navigation controls with Flash, but with a simple set of instructions users will know to use bottom playbar for video control and my flash buttons for slide navigation. Its a bit clunky, but this is what I have for now until the engineers have time to target the following:

I have tried with the user exit EXIT_SAPLMRMP_010. I am not populate the House Bank Id as it is not the exporting parameter.

It looks like there is a BADI that may give you what you need. The BADI definition (transaction SE18) is INVOICE_UPDATE. There are three methods available (in 4.6C):
CHANGE_AT_SAVE     Invoice Document at Save
CHANGE_BEFORE_UPDATE     Invoice Document Before Update
CHANGE_IN_UPDATE     Invoice Document During Update
Each of these methods allow you to pass "old" and "new" RBKP values. In the SE18 screen there is a function (toolbar button) "Documentation" that has some additional information.
The BADI is used in several function modules: MRM_INVOICE_DOCUMENT_POST, MRM_INVOICE_PREPARE_AND_POST, and MRM_BADI_INVOICE_CHECK.
You should be able to move the House Bank value by creating an implementation of this BADI.

IPad 2 to Apple TV: Cannot Play Movie - The Connected Device is not authorized to play protected movies.

I am getting the 'Connected Device is not authorized to play protected movies' message.
Here is my setup:
From the iPad 2 I used iTunes to Rent a movie - Safe House in SD.
I then used Airplay Mirroring to send the movie to my Apple TV.
The Apple TV is connected to a Vizio V0370M HDTV.
According to Vizio all of the HDMI ports have HDCP.
When the movie starts I get this error message on the iPad.
I have used this approach in the past with success.
I rented a couple of episodes of HBO's True Blood and they played just fine on the Vizio through Apple TV.
I believe some were in HD and some SD.
Using the iPad with Airplay Mirroring is a very nice way to send content to the HDTV.
I was hoping I'd be able to do this for anything that is on the iPad.
Is there something wrong with my configuration? Or what I'm trying to do?

I had exact same problem and I have found a way to get round out!!!! Easy!
So the reason it doesn't allow it to play is for security to stop piracy etc.
Plug in the cable and VGA and aux cable and get everything set up so you are looking at the home screen.
1) select Videos
2) selected the film you want to watch
3) click the little play button
4) it will then come up with the message saying it can't play protected films blah blah blah
5) WITHOUT clicking ok double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar and swipe left to reveal the control panel
6) hold fast forward for a second or two and the movie with continue to play!
Stay in the multi tasking bar with the control panel, The message will stay there but don't worry. Kick back and enjoy your iPad movie on the big screen:)

Just bought new video ipod need help

Hey everyone...
Yesterday I bought a new 30gig black video ipod.
Using some programs i bought on the internet, i was able to convert the movie "Animal House" to MP4 and put it on itunes.
The computer I did this on was my brothers computer since my computer does not read DVDs... I thought once the movie was in his itunes and in his library, I could simply drag the movie from his library to my ipod but it is not working. I do not know how else to get the movie onto my ipod. This is the second ipod i have bought and all my music is on my computer (Windows... not mac) Please help... thanks in advance

Hey again... i dont think I really told everyone what was going on so sorry...
I have all of my music on my computer and my ipod has that music from my computer.
I was using my brothers computer to download this movie because my computer does not work with DVDs and i got it in his itunes on his computer. It is in the right format on his computer. I thought once it was in his library in his itunes, I could plug my ipod into his computer and drag it from his library to my ipod. That is what i used to do with my ipod mini but for some reason it was not working with the video. Is there any way to get the video from his computer to my ipod without syncing my ipod for that computer. Thanks again.

Cannot select or change TV channels using Windows remote.

I purchased a TouchSmart 610 1280qd (Windows 7 Pro) August 2011, but cannot change channels on TV using Windows remote, but I can with ATT Uverse remote. Picture is not clear and there seems to be some conflict going on in the background. Spent many hours on phone with tech support, not to mention money on this computer. HP techs blame ATT, ATT techs blame HP.... HELP!!!

As a first machine, do most users buy laptop over desktop?

It's really a matter of what you fall in love with. A desktop, by it's very nature, can be more powerful and hold more information than a laptop (depending on which desktop vs. laptop you buy, of course). I, personally, however, would never got back to a desktop. A desktop avoid the problems of fingerprints, the chance of being knocked over or damaged in transition, and all the rest...but once you taste the freedom of a laptop, of being able to just work in any room in the house or outside if you wish, well, that's it. You just don't want to go back to being chained to a desk.
The 17" will handle all you want to do and more. Obviously, we're fans of laptops here and we'll urge you that way, but the best thing to do is just play on it. See if you really want it. If you do, you don't have to worry, it will deliver.

Fan won't stop running

Early 2008 27 inch iMac running latest version of Lion.
I had a hard drive that kept corrupting files (not the original HD, been replaced once by apple) so I replaced it with a new (ish) 1 Tb WD green. But after I did this my fan won't stop running. I thought I had disturbed the HD temp sensor so I opened it back up again and made sure it was properly on the HD closed it but still constant fan.

All my temp values are there, so I assume my sensors are fine. I don't have AHT as I don't have my original install disks (I lost them somewhere in the last 7 moves between houses) I already tried resetting the SMC.
Can anyone tell me if these readings are normal? Are any high that would be causing my fan to stay on?

Um, OK. I've just realized that the fan isn't running any more, and I've been using it for a couple of hours. I'm not sure if I should do anything else or just not look a gift horse in the mouth. Anyone have an opinion?

Airport extreme/express network setup

i'm sure this has been covered in general but lan equipment and requirements vary widely (plus most of my wireless experience is w/non-apple routers), so here goes. i have the following hardware
airport extreme (802.11n) running 7.5.2 (might downgrade to 7.4.x based on comments in this forum) connected to cable modem
2 airport express (v6.3) connected wirelessly to ap extreme
1 airport express (v6.3) connected via ethernet (wd powerline) to ap extreme
what i'd like:
ap extreme base to be the only SSID & DHCP server on the network.
the 2 wireless expresses to provide wider coverage in the main house.
the express connected via ethernet to provide wireless signal/access in the detached guest house (trying to run it wirelessly does not get a strong enough signal, hence the powerline ethernet), but only as an extension to the extreme base.
when a device (laptop, phone, etc.) connects, it should use the closest / strongest wireless signal, but always think there is only 1 network/connection config. and, when one moves between house and guest house, connected device will auto 'roam'.
whoever set this up, set the extreme to be running in WDS mode (WDS main). however, it complains that it is the only WDS device on the network (see next ???).
the 2 wireless expresses are set to 'Participate in WDS' (WDS remote)
in order to get the ethernet-connected express to work, i had to give it its own SSID and set it to 'Create wireless network'.
it does work, but there are 2 networks, no roaming, and error message on ap extreme base re:WDS config.
questions:
1) what mode should the extreme base use ('Create wireless network' or 'Participate in WDS network')?
2) what settings (WDS or wireless) for the wireless expresses?
3) what mode should the ethernet-connected express use ('Create wireless network', 'Participate in WDS network' or 'Join wireless network')?
4) anything special i need to know to get the roaming to work reliably?
5) any suggestion (due to missing questions :-)?
tx for any info. i could try all the permutations & combinations of config (actually, i've already tried a number of them , but tired of running up/downstairs and to/fro resetting devices, so i thought i would ask for help from people with more experience background.

Hi, mackiemesser. Welcome to the forums!
So if I understand correctly, your setup looks like this:

• Express #1, Express #2, and the Extreme should be set to "Participate in a WDS."
• The Extreme needs to be told that Expresses #1 and #2 will be WDS Remotes. (You'll have to enter their MAC addresses.)
• Expresses #1 and #2 need to be told that the Extreme will be their WDS Main. (You'll have to enter its MAC address.)
• Express #3 should indeed be set to "Create a wireless network" but should use the same SSID and password that your other wireless network uses.
• All Expresses should be configured to operate in Bridge Mode. In Manual Setup, click "Internet" in the toolbar and choose "Off (Bridge Mode)" from the "Connection Sharing" popup menu.
• The Extreme should not be in Bridge Mode. It should instead "Share a public IP."

A few suggestions:
• Write down the MAC addresses of all your Extremes. This saves a lot of time when you're setting up the WDS.
• Sometimes after you change the WDS settings for one AirPort on the network, it confuses the other AirPorts in the WDS, and you get network problems until all of the AirPorts agree on WDS information. In this case, if you can't see an AirPort in AirPort Utility, connect that AirPort to the computer via Ethernet. In fact, it might save time to gather all your AirPorts and plug them in next to your computer for the WDS setup process so that you can easily connect via Ethernet if necessary.
• Using a WDS dramatically decreases your network performance. Every time you add a WDS Remote, you decrease your maximum network speed by 50%. Newer AirPorts support 802.11n and have a feature that allows you to extend your wireless network without as much overhead as a WDS, but all AirPorts in the wireless network that's extended must support 802.11n.

Unusual and annoying labels in Finder

Hi,
I am having a problem, that whenever I move my house over anything in the side bar of any Finder window, immediately, a label/tag/thing pops up over it. A couple of weeks ago, I reinstalled Lion from fresh (wiped HDD, etc) and I can't recall this happening before it. The label appears immediately, which is the annoying part - I think it used to show if you hovered over it for a few seconds.
I've attached a screenshot to show what's happening.
I hope someone can help - I know it's not the biggest problem ever - but it's driving me nuts!

It would seem the problem is solved when the Finder window is resized. However, I cannot seem to find a way to make a default size of the Finder window. So, everytime I open a Finder window, it is always small enogh for the labels to appear.
All I can suggest is look for a way to make a default Finder window size
