Move a project from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013

Hi, we are using 2 TFS servers in our company. TFS2008 and TFS2013 SP4. Now I need to migrate  one project (of 6) from TFS 2008 to TFS2013 with all the history and documents from SharePoint services. The TFS2008 is runnig on Windows Server 2008
x86 and SQL 2005 and WSS. TFS2013 is running on Windows Server 2012 R2 nad SQL2012 and SharePoint Server 2010.
I have found some discussions with this topic, most of them with backuping and restoring databases. But it was from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013 using TFSconfig.exe import. But this tool is not available in TFS 2013. Is it possible to do such task without installing
single use TFS2010?
Thanks, regards Martin

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your post.
You want only move team project source files and documents from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013 or you want move the whole team project data(source files and work items…) from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013?
If you want move whole team project data within history from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013, we suggest backup your TFS 2008, and install a new TFS 2010(or 2012) Server using the TFS 2008 backup, then
move the collection from TFS 2010 to TFS 2013 Server directly, after moved successfully, you can delete the unwanted team projects from moved collection in TFS 2013.
If you want only move the source files and document from TFS 2008 team project to TFS 2013 Server, you can create a new team project in TFS 2013 Server, then try use the
TFS Integration Tools to move source files from TFS 2008 team project to this new created TFS 2013 team project, but you need note the limitations in this tool.

  • How to move iMovie project from one computer to another

I have been working on an iMovie 09 project on my desktop at home.
Now I want to work on the same project on my computer at work.
How can I move the project from one computer to another?   What I've already tried was to make a duplicate copy of the project and then use a thumb drive to move that to another computer.   It didn't work.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello James Snedeker,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to move a file to another disk. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
iMovie: How to Save Projects to Another Hard Disk
To copy an iMovie project to another disk:
    1. Quit iMovie if it is open.
    2. Locate the project folder in the Finder.
    3. Drag the project folder to the other disk.
Note: You must move the complete project folder, intact, to the other disk in order to successfully copy the project. The project folder has the same name as the project listed in the iMovie window. This folder includes the iMovie project file, as well as a Media folder, which contains all of the clips associated with this project. If you don't copy all of these items, the project may no longer be readable in iMovie.
Once you have copied the project, try opening it in iMovie to ensure that it copied to the other disk successfully.

  • How do I move a project from one library to a different existing library in Aperture 3.2.3?

How do I move a project from one library to a different existing library in Aperture 3.2.3?

Export as a Library, then import into the second (already existing) Library.
    From the User Manual:
In the Library inspector, select the items you want to transfer, then choose File > Export > Items as New Library.

  • I have Iphoto library in Aperture.  Can I move the projects from iPhoto to aperture project by dragging?

I have Iphoto library in Apeture.  Can I move the projects from iPhoto to aperture project by dragging (within the apeture program)? Is this making a duplicate of all the photos? It seems to work??  It then leaves my Iphoto library in apeture empty.  I would like to do this just to reorganize the photos between the two.  I feel that I may have doubles and would like all pictures of one year in same project in Aperture instead of going between both.

Tell us more, please. I am not quite sure, what you want to do and how you are using Aperture and iPhoto?
Which versions of Aperture and iPhoto are you using?
Do you have separate photo libraries for Aperture and iPhoto, or are you opening your iPhoto libraries in Aperture?
I have Iphoto library in Apeture.
Did you import an iPhoto library into Aperture?  And now you are seeing a section "iPhoto Library"  in the Aperture projects list in the Inspector?
Events and albums you imported from iPhoto (Import > Library > Some iPhoto Library) will be imported as Aperture projects and albums, and they will behave exactly as other Aperture projects and albums.
Can I move the projects from iPhoto to aperture project by dragging (within the aperture program)? Is this making a duplicate of all the photos? It seems to work??  It then leaves my Iphoto library in apeture empty.
You can drag images from any project in Aperture to other projects and that will move (not duplicate) the images and all its versions to that project. And when you drag all images from the project to another project, the remaining project will be empty and can be deleted.  (Caution: Photos that you have hidden in iPhoto will not be visible in Aperture. If you are not sure, if you have hidden photos, open the library again in iPhoto and unhide all photos).
I feel that I may have doubles and would like all pictures of one year in same project in Aperture instead of going between both.
There should be no problem with moving all photos from the same years to the same projects. You can also drag projects in "Projects" view on top of each other. That will merge them.
You could also define smart albums in Aperture to search for images taken at a specific period of time:
File > New > Smart album:
Then, in the Smart Settings HUD, click "Add Rule" and add a Date or Calendar rule.
For example, to find all images taken in 2010, use a rule "Date > Capture Year is > 2010"
To search for Photos taken at a specific date or at several dates, use a "calendar" rule. This way, you do nat have to type the date, but can pick it from a mini calendar.

  • Is there a way to go move a project from IDVD back to IMOVIE?

This is clearly a newbie question:
I know how to share from Imovie to IDVD and I made my IDVD project, but now I don't know if I still have the IMovie I originally transferred.
Is there a way to move a project from IDVD back to IMOVIE?

First, go back to iMovie and look under both iMovie Events and Projects to see if you still have the movie. Double check by looking in Finder to where you save the movies you create. For instance, if you save to Movies, there should be folders in there for iMovie Events and iMovie Projects. If they are there, you should see them in the lists in iMovie.
If not, I don't think there is a way you can move it directly back to iMovie. Is there a real need to have it in iMovie? Unless you are going to change the movie, there is not a need to keep it there. If, for some reason you want it there, however, you can go thru the process of copying the DVD back to the hard drive using MPEG Streamclip, and exporting it to Quicktime. Then open iMovie, and bring it back into iMovie.

    Appreciate some help.

You should be able to copy the apps (and any other iTunes purchases) over to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. And as long as apps remain available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to purchase them, you should be able to re-download them in the future : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If you are already on iOS 5+ on your iPad then you should be able to update the iPad directly on the iPad via Settings > General > Software Update .

  • Best Way to move MB database from single XCH 2010 to 2013 DAG

    Hi,
We are migrating from a Single Exchange 2010 sp3 server to a 2-node exchange 2013 DAG cluster, located in another AD site.
I can move a mailbox from 2010 to 2013 without issue, but the WAN link between 2010 and 2013 is very small.
It will take us too long to move all mailboxes with move-mailbox over the line.
Is there another way to move the mailboxes or Databases more quickly?
I was thinking about copying the DB's to a physical disk from 2010 and then move and mount it on 2013. Is that even possible? I explored the possibility to seed the DB to 2013, but don't have the option to do so. 2010 is installed on 2008R2 standard.
We prefer a short downtime and move over everthing in one go as opposed to having coeexistance for longer period of time to allow the move mailbox over the WAN to complete.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

You can't move the databases from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013.
I can think of three options.
    1.  Move the Exchange 2013 server to the same LAN as the Exchange 2010 server, move the mailboxes, then move the server back.
    2.  Move the Exchange 2010 server to the same LAN as the Exchange 2013 server and move the mailboxes.
    3.  Install a new Exchange 2010 server on the same LAN as the current Exchange 2010 server, create a DAG, add mailbox database copies on the new Exchange 2010 server, move that server to the same LAN as the Exchange 2013 server, activate the databases
on that LAN, and then move the mailboxes.
3a.  A variation of #3 is to build the Exchange 2010 server on the same LAN as the Exchange 2013 server and perform a manual seed of the database copies.  This is more trouble than option 3.
Moving Exchange servers between sites is possible but there are other issues you would need to solve.  You might be best off just getting a temporary increase in your WAN link capacity for the period of the mailbox move.

  • Reports Migration from TFS 2008 to TFS 2013.

    Hi There,
We wanted to migrating reports(integrated with TFS 2008) to new report server(integrated with TFS 2013) using RDL pull and push method using rs.exe tool. later planning to rebuild Tfs_Warehouse and Tfs_Analysis. Below are my queries:
If i migrate the reports using pull and push method will those report.rdl files still work with TFS2013 re-built data or
Should i upgrade the entire ReportServerDB? If so, does report.rdl files under go any changes during upgrade?
please guide me if my understanding is wrong and suggest me what should be taken care if i follow pull and push method.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Manoj C N,
If you can migrate your report server database, it would be better to migrate the Reporting service databases to new report server since the data will not be changed.
About the existing reports, please elaborate more details and the result after taking the methods. But for moving reports, you can also download the existing reports and upload to the new report server. Refer to the link below for more information:

  • How to move a project from one library to another?

I merged too many iPhoto libraries into one very large Aperture library,  It takes too long to load up even though I'm using a Thunderbolt external drive.  So I'm exporting some of the projects as new libraries.  After doing so, I discover that some of the remainig projects in my large Aperture library really belong in one of the new libraries I created.  But I haven't found a way yet to export or move such projects to the new library I created on the same external drive.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    I thought I said that?
And I thought you meant that, but I was not sure, if "export the projects" implies necessarily "export as library" - it could mean "export the versions/originals from the project" and reimport them - just to be sure no offence meant.

  • How can I MOVE some projects from one library to another?

As the aperture library grows quite big and I want to split it into several smaller ones. How can I move projects from the old library to a new one without export them and re-import them all again? Is it possible to retain all adjustments after migration?
    Thanks!

You export the project by CTRL / Right- click the project and choose 'Export' > 'Project'. The same if you go via the file menu.
Every adjustment you made, books created, albums etc. will be kept in the exported project and are available again when you import it to another library.

  • How do I move a project from an external drive back into Imovie

I recently bought an Iomega external hard drive to store documentary movies so that I wouldn't jam up my Imac's free space. However, after I moved an imovie/idvd project to it, and wanted to make changes, I could not move the project back into the Imac's drive. (It also would not burn from the external, giving me a multiplex error) When I tried to move the movie back into Imovie on the Imac it said Quicktime couldn't parse it. I saw various posts about parsing, but not about specifically about moving a project from an external drive. Can anyone offer any suggestions? It seems to me that I should be able to move a project back and forth without that much trouble.

Sounds like you have a DVD format (MPEG-2) and not an iMovie Project file.
The key phrases are "multiplex" and "parse". Both suggest MPEG-2 format when opened in QuickTime. It would also throw an error -2048 message if MPEG-2.
But another issue could be the file format of the external drive. Most ship pre-formatted for the Windows OS's but a Mac user should format using HFS+ (and others). If you didn't format the drive before moving the large iMovie Project onto it it may have become severely fragmented if the external used FAT 16 or FAT 32 (very common) formats. They have a 2 or 4 GB file size limit, respectively and would have made your Project unreadable when moved back and forth.
Use the Disk Utility app to find out the format of your external drive.

  • What's the best way to move a project from one HD to another?

I have a movie I've been working on for 2 years.  The entire project is on an external hard drive.  I recently got a new macbook pro and would like to take the project off of the external hard drive and move it to my macbook pro hard drive (my external is starting to act a little goofy and I want to rescue my project until I can get a new one).
There is tons of media for my project.  I've read that using media manager is an option.  I tried this but am having difficulty locating all of the media to reconnect once I do, but all the media should be in the same place, so I can't figure out why I can't find a lot of it to reconnect.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?  None of the media is offline when I open the project from my external HD.  If you know a better method than media manager, please share.  I've never had to execute this kind of proceedure before so it's new to me.  Thank you.

The files will be eating up all your disc space and affecting performance. Setting the Scratch disc only comes into affect if you are capturing files from video sources via video cards or firewire/thunderbolt connections. The scratch disc records the video as data. The scratch disk needs to be robust enough to capture at a high data rate to capture uncompressed video in HighDef or Standard Def. This usually requires a RAID drive. If you never capture uncompressed video via a video card (AJA Kona/Blackmagic/Avid Mojo), you can set your root drive as the scratch disc. The problem there is it will hog up disc space. That is why most editors use an external drive to be the scratch disc.

  • Move Distribution point from Server 2008 R2 to Server 2012 R2

We have to upgrade one of sccm server 2008 R2 to server 2012 R2 on new box
    Server 2008 R2 is a Distribution Point
I need to figure out right steps to move content and packages to new server and rather distributing all packages
Need to figure out any specific steps for upgrading from Server 2008 to Server 2012 before turning off DP.
We planing to use same Ip and server name and turn off and replace old server.
    I would appreciate any help..
    Thanks
    RJ
    RJ09

As a side note here, I would *not* use the same name. This will be a *new* DP and thus should be treated as such. You'll simply be migrating the content and re-adding it (the DP) to the same boundary groups as the old DP. You'll then retire the old
DP. The IP Address doesn't matter here.

Select Images or containers and "File  ▹ Export ▹ Export ... as Library".
Then close the Library, open the other one, and run "File ▹ Import ▹ Library ... ".
Confirm that everything has gone as you want, make back-ups, and then delete the exported Images or containers from the originating Library.
This is covered in the User Manual here.  Scroll down to:
