Move Attribute Up/Down in MDS web app unpredictable

On the MDS web app/ System Administration/ Manage Entities/ Edit Entity page, the Move Attribute Up/Down controls move the selected attribute in unpredictable ways.
Instead of simply moving the selected attribute up or down one position, the attribute is moved several positions. Attempts to order the attributes as desired using this mechanism seems impossible. Does anyone else see this behavior? Is
there another way to order the attributes in an entity?
BTW, I'm using the latest version of IE and Silverlight version 5.1.20193.0

This particular UI has been fixed in the next CTP release. You would see a slightly different UI to move attribute display order.
For old UI, each time, the up/down is click, there is call back to the service which will take few seconds. You probably have to wait the IE become not busy (The circle icon on tab is gone), between each move.

Outlook Web App (Exchange Server 2010-2013) should have the same content on all modern browsers, since the mail and mail folders are stored on the server.
Perhaps, though, a cookie or other local storage keeps track of peculiarities of your desired layout? If you explore around, can you find the missing folders?

OC4J shuts down servlet in web-app A during deployment of web-app B ?!

Hey all,
We have a web-app A deployed to OAS 10g that contains a servlet with <load-on-startup> set to 2.
This servlet loads fine when the app is deployed.
However, when we deploy web-app B to our server, we notice in the logs that the destroy() method on the above servlet is invoked in web-app A! After web-app B is finished deploying, the init() method on the above servlet in web-app A is fired again.
What's going on?

I have posted this on the JDeveloper forum and been pointed in the direction of this discussion as it seems I am experiencing the same problem.....
I currently have an instance of the OC4J 10.1.2 standalone (current production version) server running, and am deploying 5 servlets to the same server. Once they are all deployed they all run fine without any problems at all.
However, if I need/want to make an update to one of these 5 servlets and then redploy it the server, the server effectively restarts terminating any open sessions that users may have on any of the other four servlets as well (i.e. users are forced to login again to the particular servlet they are using).
Is this a bug in the OC4J 10.1.2 standalone (current production version) server? or have I not set something in the deployment profile for each of these servlets/applications to prevent this from happening?
All advice/suggestions would be gratefully appreciated as soon as possible.

Weblogic client not shutting down properly in web app

Hi,
We have an application running on Tomcat which uses wlfullclient.jar to connect to EJB's hosted on a Weblogic server. We're seeing errors like the following in the logs when the web application is shutdown, which appear to indicate that the Weblogic client is not cleaning up threads upon application shutdown.

Hi Tim,
where did you deploy your Coherence jars? In the application (APP-INF/lib or WEB-INF/lib) or into the server classpath?
If you deployed it within the application APP-INF/lib, then you should register an application-specific ApplicationLifecycleListener in weblogic-application.xml which invokes CacheFactory.shutdown() in the postStop() method.
If you deployed it within a WEB-INF/lib directory, then you should do similarly from a JSDK ContextListener.
If you deployed it to the server classpath, then it has nothing to do with the application lifecycle, nor should it have, so it is normal if it does not shut down upon application undeployment.

APEX 4.2.2 development tool bar at bottom of Web App does not appear

When running my application from within APEX as a developer, the APEX bottom bar does not show up. Hence, I can't (from the app web page) edit or move to another part of the Web App.
Wondering what could be causing this?
Just upgraded from 4.1.1.
Any help would be appreciated.

How to create a blank option in fields in web apps

HI.
We have created a pretty simple webapp that lists all our teachers. One of the fields we created was a list of states drop down menu. Is there any way in the list to create a blank field - say there is no state for that person? Right now it shows none.
Here is a example of how it shows up online:
Persons Name
Goiania/GO, None 74810
Brazil
Here is a screenshot of the field I am talking about in the web app. What can I put in there beside none so nothing shows up in that field online if there is no state for that person.

Just playing around with this, trying not to use jQuery, I did find a solution. For the first option in your drop down, instead of None put:
&nsbp;
This is the HTML non break space. This will show up in the drop down within the web app and is then outputted as a space.
Not really the most elegant of work around's. But it works.

Bug Report iOS 7 iTunes. Since it is repeatable on 3 iPhones and 4 iPads here, I'm sure others are experiencing the same thing. Apple, might want to take a peek at this. When a tv show or movie is deleted from Videos, the Videos app shuts down.

Restarting videos works and looks like video is getting deleted.

My web app is shutting down repeatedly with the following reason -
Event message: Application is shutting down. Reason: A subdirectory in the Bin application directory was changed or renamed.
Bin is not being changed when this happens. There is no subdirectory in the bin.
Any help is appreciated.

Verizon Messages web app appears to be down.

I noticed a few other posts with Verizon Messages troubles in the past few weeks, but tonight it looks to be straight unavailable.
I tried connecting through Chrome (the page itself times out) and IE (the Verizon page loads but the web app itself just has a spinning wheel, forever) on two different computers (a Windows 7 desktop and a Windows 8.1 tablet) and my cell phone (Windows Phone 8.1). My internet connection is Verizon Wireless 4G LTE, so it would be a bit bizarre if it were an ISP issue; the rest of Verizon's site, including My Verizon, all loads just fine.
I have used it in both browsers, on multiple devices, as recently as yesterday without any issue. I tried clearing all browsing data (cache, passwords, security certificates, etc.) and restarting but I still get the same thing. All other internet traffic is, obviously, coming through just fine.

I don't know how much of a credit I would expect, but saying it's a courtesy is kind of a slap in the face.
Don't get me wrong, I love my service; but if VZ Messages is a courtesy, it's the only courtesy I've ever seen with apps on Android and iPhone, a Desktop client, a web app, a support page, its own set of terms and conditions with an express license to use the "courtesy" (which isn't called that anywhere in any of these places), and a privacy policy. I guarantee they have used online messaging in marketing for their service.
Yeah, I know Verizon can terminate the service any time without notice. That doesn't mean they should.
If this is a "courtesy," so is everything else Verizon provides. Duly noted.

Incoming Email not working for one web app, but IS working for others in same farm.

I have enabled incoming email in a large multi-web application farm running SharePoint 2013 SP1 and the Feb 2015/March 2015 CUs that were pushed down in Windows Updates. It works just fine for two web applications, but it will not work for one particular
web application. I see the email land in the /drop folder. If I remove the email address from the library in http://nonworkingapp web
application and use it on a library in a http://working web application, then the email is processed successfully. Conversely,
if I take an address from a library in http://working and move it to a library inhttp://nonworkingapp it
does not work. I've tried multiple site collections on http://nonworkingapp. This rules out any SMTP issues, etc. and means
the issue is bound to this web application. Permissions are the same between the "non-working" and "working" locations: domain users are members on the site, and the library inherits permissions from the site. The App Pool and Timer
Service accounts have rights to the folder and to the library.
The error in the ULS log is the typical error processing message, but it gives no additional information even though I have enabled Verbose logging.
The Incoming E-Mail service has completed a batch. The elapsed time was 00:00: 00.0156294. The service processed 2 message(s) in total. Errors occurred processing 2 message(s): Message ID: Message
ID:
Typically, you see "alias not found" or some permissions or quota issue here, but this issue is NOT the same as those. In this case NO additional information is provided in ULS.
Edit: running stsadm.exe -o refreshdms -url http://one/failing/site fixed some similar issues where "Unknown alias" was
reported even though the list did have an alias (see here:http://blogs.technet.com/b/vinitt/archive/2009/07/15/e-mail-enabled-list-alias-information-is-not-synchronized-between-configuration-database-and-content-database.aspx).
This did not fix the issue for the case mentioned above.
What could possibly be the issue preventing incoming email from working on this one web application?

Thanks for your reply. Incoming E-Mail was running on all 3 WFE, however I do not think this was the cause. As noted, _other_ emails send to http://workingapp are working just fine. I can send two emails - one to a library on http://workingapp
and another on http://notworkingapp. The email to http://notworkingapp will sit in the drop folder, while the one to http://workingapp will be processed correctly. In addition, the ULS log on WFE1 indicates an attempt to process the file fails.
So clearly, the timer job on WFE1 is running and attempting to process the file. For kicks, I disabled the service on WFE2 and WFE3, but with no change in the behavior.
WRT to #1, I have done this already (as noted in the original post). I can remove an alias from http://workingapp and place it on http://nonworkingapp and it is not processed. If I return it to http://workingapp it is processed. In other
words, I go into Library Settings -> Incoming Email for a working library, and copy the alias, then disable incoming email for that library. I then go to Library Settings -> Incoming Email for a non-working library, enable incoming email, and paste
the alias. Once done, emails sent to the alias are not processed. I then do the reverse, and it works again.
On #2, I have already tried multiple libraries on http://nonworkingapp (also as noted in the original post).
In my environment, incoming email does not work for any library on http://nonworkingapp, but does work for any library on http://workingapp. Troubleshooting listed above has ruled out any problem with basic mail server configuration or library settings
- the problem is bound to http://nonworkingapp
I'm not sure what you mean by "steps to reproduce the issue". If I knew that, I would probably be able to solve the issue. The best I could come up with to describe the situation would be:
Set up SP 2010 in a three-node configuration with multiple web apps
Enable incoming email and confirm it works
Migrate to a SP2013 SP1 farm in a three node configuration.
Enable a new email alias for a library
Observe that it doesn't work for one web application.
Obviously, it's pretty unlikely that attempting that in a lab would actually have the same result.

Help using JMX to Get Context of Deployed Web Apps

I think this question is more of a JMX question that anything else (like a JNDI question), so I am posting here. If anyone feels this should be posted elsewhere, please let me know.
I want to be able to get a handle to each deployed web app's context, so that I may get a BasicDataSource from it, then look at the connection attributes inside of that BasicDataSource, i.e., Number of active connections, number of idle connections, etc. for each deployed web app.
This is the path I am heading down (if there is another way, please let me know). The code below is inside of a JSP running inside of a web app within my Tomcat 5.0.16 server, running JDK 1.4.2.

If you want your application to work only with specific JRE version, you should use static versioning. I installed JRE 1.3.1_15 and JRE 5.0U5 , both of them works successfully. I used the below syntax to load applets:

Tile Sliding Web App

Essentially this is the watered down version of a mock up for a web app.
I want to be able to slide the coloms and rows seperatly in almost a rubiks cube fashion.
Would this be possible to build in edge animate?

You can do it using JavaScript and jQuery within Animate. There's a lot of fancy data structures work you would need to do to store and shift each square, but once you have that all sorted, it's fairly trivial to actually move the squares. I know this is a very vague answer, but it's a very code-centric solution. Hope that points you in the right direction.

GetAccess SSO and WebLogic J2EE Web app

I have a J2EE web app (servlets/JSPs) running in WLS5.1sp8. I want to use standard
J2EE declarative security to protect the application and a WLS custom security
realm to provide authorisation.
However, I need to use the Entrust getAccess single sign-on infrastructure to
do the initial user authentication. I was hoping there might be some way to propogate
the user's getAccess security credentials into the web application so that when
the user hits a protected web page, they are not prompted to login in again.
However, Weblogic should call into my custom realm with the getAccess provided
user name to check that the user has the correct role.
Anyone have any ideas how/if this is possible?

That was a good article on how to maintain access levels based on different user roles and i will need it down the lane. Probably, i used a wrong word when i meant 'unauthorized user'.
Actually, let me rephrase it,
Here is my issue rephrased,
1.) My problem is during authentication phase, I want a functionality where a person is redirected to login page by default if he tries to paste URL of some intermediate page of application directly without logging in.
2.) This would also pop up another question, which would be what is the best practice to maintain a user's info i.e. his login credentials throughout the application (I am just storing his user id along with a flag which says its true.) .
Right now, the way i do is, in each action after the user logs in, I check for a session attribute which tells if he has logged. Based on this check, I forward to the next page. But, i think its quite redundant and probably not a best practice. Hence, I need some other elegant way of achieving this.

Web App Module Problems

On a trial site, set up new web app, set up custom fields (yes, I saved each field). All fields visible in the box to left of screen.
However, when I go to move a field up or down in the list, the entire list of custom fields disappears. They are deleted from the web app.
I've not seen this before and wonder if others are having similar problems?

What browser do you see this happening in?
