Move boot HD from T61p to another T61p

I need to move the boot hard drive from a dead T61p (14') to another T61p (say 15"). Could that work? Thanks -

Welcome to the forum!
Yes, it will work. You might have to update a couple of drivers depending on the connfiguration of the each machine, but that's about it. Plug & play.

I have done this process when we moved our archived data from IBM Commonstore to IXOS/OpenText as well as when we moved all of our archived images in OpenText that were stored in a jukebox and we moved them to a WORM/Hard Disk Storage (still Open Text). But, in both cases, we were provided the necessary conversion programs from the relevant vendor (in this case Open Text).
This process is complex and involves correctly updating mulitple internal SAP tables as well as the database entries in the new storage providor.
My recommendation is to work with the 3rd party solution partner where the data is going to be moved to and get the appropriate conversion programs from them.

If the drag & drop functionality is enabled you can drag the catalog and drop it in another InfoArea just as you do with files on your PC.
The other procedure is Use the right mouse button to create an InfoObject catalog in the InfoArea. If you want to make a copy of an existing InfoObject catalog, specify a reference InfoObject catalog.

I have old OES2 SP1 server. I install new server and connect it to the tree. Can I move NSS disk from old server to new server and save Trustee ?
Old server has two software RAID 1 disks witch one NSS pool and volume.

If you can physically move the old disks holding the NSS volumes to the
new server, yes, that will work almost completely automatically. You may
have to go into NSSMU and activate the pools once, but from then on the
server will mount them on boot, and all trustees will stay intact.
One thing to watch out for are the edirectory volume objects.
Officially, you have to delete and recreate them, which may affect stuff
like user home directory attributes. Unofficially, you can chnage the
Host Server attribute of the existing volume objects to refelct the new
server.

Can I move boot drive from Mac Pro 2006 to Mac Pro 2008?

I currently have a Mac Pro 2006 (3Ghz Quad) and am thinking about buying a 2008 (3.2Ghz Oct).
Can I simply swap out the boot drive and not have to reinstall all of the programs (and the de-authorizing and re-authorizing of computers involved), or is the software somehow tied to the CPU itself?

Are you running 10.5.7 on the 2006 MP?
The easiest way would be to simply clone the drive (superduper, CCC, etc.)to the new 2009 drive.

I have heard bad things about migration assistant (system slowdowns, etc).
Truthfully though, you're moving to a new system, new drivers, etc, do it the right way. fresh install.
Fresh installs always are the best. And if you can, pick up Alsoft Disk Warrior to run after install and updates etc. Makes the computer run a whole lot better.

How do i move the data from Apple ID to iCloud

i know that you can't merge Apple ID's and iCloud ID's but what I would like to do is move the data from one to another and by data I mean my contacts and calendars without loosing them.
What I did so far was to signout from my iCloud ID into my mac to log in into the Apple ID so all could be sync to the Apple ID but it didn't as soon as I logged out the data where lost ! (Calendar, Contacts...)
What processs can I use to save those data so i can move to Apple ID only ? any idea or suggestions ?

Before you can move data from one account to another, you need to log into both accounts at the same time. Log into one of the accounts as a secondary account in system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars. Contacts can be moved by dragging from one account to another, calendars will need to be exported and re-imported.

How can I move a task from a Summary Task to another Summary Task in the same task list?

Hey, I tried to move tasks through the SP UI from one Summary Task to other in the same task list, but I didn't find possibility for it.
Then I spent time to learn the SP Client Object Model and now I can read tasks form the list. I see every task has a "FileRef" and a "FileDirRef" field. If I think right these fields show the relation between list elements for example between
a Task and a Summary Task elements.
I changed these fields' values and I tried to Update the ListItem but I got this error message: "Invalid data has been used to update the list item. The field you are trying to update may be read only."
I really need to move tasks what were created below a wrong Summary Task so please explain a method or pattern how I can do this. (I can create a new Task below to any Summary Task and I can set field values but I hope there is a way to really move tasks (I
mean I should change the right field values somehow.).
I can reach the Task List both on the server and client side so I'm very interested in every solution. PowerShell solution is also good for me.
I'm using SharePoint 2010 SP2.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to move a task from one summary task to another in the same task list.
We can do it like this:
We can create a Gantt View for this task list, then copy your tasks inside a summary task, then navigate back to the other summary and paste, then go back to original and delete.

Black Screen on MBP, Can hear chime and can boot from HDD via another MBP!

Hope someone can help me here, as I'm at my wits end.
I've got two issues, one with my MacBook Pro 17in, 4GB RAM, 160GB 7200rpm (2008) and another with my iMac 24in. 4GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm (2009).
Firstly the MBP, left work on Thursday last week, got home, powered up the MBP and got a black screen!!! Tried resetting PRAM, SMC, booting in safe mode, removing and re-installing RAM, removing battery and mains power and leaving off overnight etc etc, yet nothing happens. Benn all over the forums and have not found any solution to get my beloved MBP working on it's own. I can boot off the HDD using another MBP 15in, re-install Snow Leopard and as far as I can tell the HDD is fine, as I have run disk utility and it tells me the HDD is OK.
I can't figure this out and it's doing my head in, as I use this laptop for business use and just can't afford to go out and buy another Mac. I should point out that this MBP never had any issues when running on Leopard, but ever since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, I have had nothing, but trouble. I did a clean install, in fact I have done it at least twice, even erasing the HDD securely, both at 7pass and 35pass, yet I have had permissions issues regularly and on the odd occasion, I have also had the problem of the HDD not being recognised.
The iMac is nearly the same, but the screen is working, although the iMac doesn't see the HDD no matter what way I do, again, reset PRAM, SMC, safe boot etc etc. In truth the iMac has been a lot more unreliable, but with the screen working, if I can get any solutions here, then I'll be working to work on that without the need or hassle of working via another.
I think that the MBP is only just still under warranty, but the iMac definitely is, but I need at least one working for business use, so really only want to let Apple have one at a time to look at/repair etc.
Ideally, as the HDD is working in the MBP, if I could get a solution to the black screen issue, then I could do without the iMac for whatever time it takes, so if there is anyone out there that can help, I'd be so grateful.
One last thing, when I bought the iMac 24in., I also bought an iMac 20in., but I never upgraded the 20in. to Snow Leopard and to this day, it has worked flawlessly, without a single issue ever.
Perhaps, I'm getting paranoid here, but there seems to me to be a link between the ongoing and regularly occurring problems with both Macs ant the upgrade to Snow Leopard. Why also, or is it just pure unadulterated coincidence that both the MBP and the iMac 24in have failed at pretty much the same time??!!!!
I'm going mental here, so I hope someone out there has a better fix, then me overdosing on Prozac!!

I'm not a mac expert, not good with a soldering iron either, but I'm capable of following good instructions.

Concerning your imac, have you tried installing the OS on an external drive and running the iMac from that? My friend in Texas had her iMac's hard drive vanish, so we installed the OS on an external FireWire drive I happened to have and then restored her data from a recent backup. So far I haven't had time to install the drive in her iMac, so it's been running off of the external for a long time now. Perhaps you could do something like that so you could at least have the use of the iMac while your MBP is in the shop. Once you get the MBP back, you can send in the iMac.
Be sure to report both of these to Apple and get case numbers so that you can document that the issues started while you were still under warranty--especially for the MBP that's about to go out of warranty.

I am a fan of the VZ Navigator myself, and all of the great features of this application! Is the Palm Pre 2 on the same number as the Palm Pre Plus? If yes, you can synchronize your Favorites through our website at the following link: VZ Navigator
You will sign in using your My Verizon login information, and sync the Settings and Favorites to your new device. However, if your Favorites are on a different mobile number, you will have to manually enter in the information/ settings. I still encourage you to use the website to set everything up as you like, in case you need to change devices in the future.
