Move channel? replace colour channel by other channel?

—actually a double question, two topics closely related. In an rgb image, I need to shift all pixels of one channel (as I would move an entire layer) using the move tool (selecting the channel in the channel panel). Which is impossible. (First two questions: why is this impossible, and how can I make it possible?). And as a workaround, I thought I could duplicate the channel, move its content (which is possible), and use it to replace the original one (calling the new one like the old one, of course). But no! Can't do that either. If I do, instead of the channels RGB, Red, Green, Blue, Red copy, I get Magenta, Yellow, Red. I don't really understand, and really don't find anything on it.
I'd be grateful for any source or even explanation.

You should be able to move channels if the image is flattened.
Even without flattening the image you should be able to copy and paste
from a duplicated or new channel into an existing channel.

  • How can I move and replace spatial data to other table ?

    Hello,
I have a Global Map table1 and other Local Map on table2, Their scale is 1:100000 and 1:5000 .
Now I want to move and replace table2 into table1 , make the new map look without gap
    how can i do ?

    Hi Yacus,
You have 2 different scales. In my opinion you should NOT use both in one table because the data quality may be different!
You want to insert your table2 data into table 1? This without problem. But when you try to test for identical geometry parts you will not succeed, because of generalization from 1:500 to 1:100000.
Can you exactly describe, what you want to do (which data, what to achieve)..
    reghards, Andreas

  • How to write to one channel of a task with multiple channels? (plus other things...)

So I have a USB-6009 DAQ.  It has 12 digital output lines.  I want one channel that is "Dev0\line0:10" which represents an address bus in my application.  And a second channel "Dev0\line11" which represents a program enable line in my application.
I have tried creating two different tasks and adding one channel to one task and the other channel to the other task.  The only task that worked was the task with "Dev0\line0:10".  It was always the task containing that channel, regardless of the order of creation.  So then I moved on to a different method.  (I read somewhere that I should only create one task of each type.  like only 1 DO task only 1 AO task etc...  However I am also using the two analog ouputs to and have a task for each AO and they work just fine.)
I tried add both channels to one task.  But when I needed to control only the address bus, I had to have some information for the other channel as well.  This was a little trying, but I could configure it that way.  But it turned out to be easier for me to just make one channel with all the lines and OR in the data for line11 with each write.
I just wondered if it was possible to write to one particular channel of a task and not the other channel?  That would really be the ideal solution for me.  especially if I could write multiple samples to the one channel while I left the other channel alone.  Which brings up another complaint... Why does WriteMultiSamplePort only work if I use a DigitalMultiChannelWriter, and not if I use a DigitalSingleChannel writer even though my task only has one channel (and by the way I set up the channel as one channel for all lines)?  A perplexing issue to be sure.
And no I can't just load all my samples into an array and write them all at once because I also have to manipulate the two analog outputs in between the various digital writes.
I am using NI DAQmx 7.5 and C#.  I am trying to use the DAQ to program a digital switch, which has proven to be a real challenge.  In push-pull mode there is too much ringing for the switches programming port to tolerate.  But the switches interface is LVTTL, so I needed the 3.3V.  When I changed to open-collector I had to use voltage dividers to drop down to 3.3V.  But the rise time using open-collector is too slow for me the program the switch in serial mode, so I had to change to parallel.  The switch has an 11 bit multi-plexed ADDR/DATA bus.  So the DAQ I had chosen to use which had plenty of lines for the serial programming, now is strained to it's absolute limits by the parrallel interface.   ARGH.  The only output I am not currently using is the counter, and I'm going to need it if I ever want to read back from the switch.  But first I have to seperate the ADDR/DATA bus from the CS line on the DIO lines of the DAQ.  And I don't know for sure what I'm going to do about the voltage level translation when I have to go bi-directional.  Maybe I can filter out the ringing in push-pull mode?  Any thoughts on that?

    Hi Saikey,
In most cases, you are exactly right: you can only use one task for one type of operation (i.e. only one analog input task in the same program). With the USB 6009, you can have multiple digital output tasks running at the same time. I was able to run a digital output program with two different digital output tasks configured for a USB-6009.
However, you stated that it would be better if you had everything in a single task for your application and write data to only some of the channels. The easiest way to do this is to modify your array of output data so that only the data to that one channel is changing. So, for example, if you keep writing a 0 to the channels that do not need new data nothing will change.
If you have to change your analog outputs during this program, you could create an event structure that would stop and restart the analog output tasks without changing the digital output data. I hope that you find this information helpful.

  • Why does compressor settings of aac audio, stereo, create 2 channel mono from 2 discrete audio channel movies?

Why does compressor settings of aac audio, stereo, create 2 channel mono from 2 discrete audio channel movies?

well depending on how your audio is brought into your system you can select it as two streams of mono or a stereo pair. In reality, unless it's mixed in stereo, that's just two streams of mono locked together. Other streams brought in via other means, can have a lot more audio channels, e.g. 8, 16, 24.
In your case, with what you're doing, two separate channels works best, so you can control the levels of two very different audio sources. If, for instance, you were taking the feed from the mixing board during a concert, you might want their stereo out. Otherwise you might be dealing with the 1.2 zillion channels that they're mixing live.
I like separating the tracks coming in. I work with people who prefer to lock them together. Locking means the tracks move together during editing. Ok, fine, but I'm usually dealing with different audio sources, like you are: a camera mic (safety on location) and a close mic (shotgun, lav). Or I have a shotgun source and a lav. I want to determine the best source audio for the shot. Sometimes it's a lav, sometimes a different feed from somewhere else, sometimes the shotgun, and sometimes a mix of two sources. But if they're locked together and pre-set to come out evenly from both speakers there no way for me to make a determination. The other guys like to cut and figure out the audio later.
To each his or her own. . .

  • Replacing footage with an alpha channel

greetings gurus... I'm working in FCP 5.1 with DVCPRO HD footage 720p @23.98fps. I have an edited sequence of green screen footage that I am happy with. I then keyed out the green from the original source footage and exported that footage with an alpha channel (the background keyed out in AE7). My goal is to open my FCP project and replace the original source footage with the new keyed out footage so that my edit remains in tact but now with a keyed out background. I'm using the reconnect media function in FCP and of course the footage is replaced, but without the alpha channel.
When I import the keyed out footage directly the alpha channel is present; it just isn't present via the reconnect media method.
Any suggestions on how to pull this off?

it may be that for whatever reason FCP is not interpreting the alpha channel correctly when you use the reconnect option. for example, the reconnect option may assume that clip properties are unchanged. this may be esspecially true within the timeline, where instance properties are preserved.
you may be able to manually overcome this by adjusting the alpha channel information in the clip properties window
select one of the reconnected clips (one with the alpha channel from AE) and press cmd-9. see what setting is reported for the alpha channel. if it says None, try changing it to Straight.

I have video clips with 4 channels of audio, I can only hear audio recorded on channel one, how do I hear the other channels......?

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system?     Elements 13 on Windows 7
What is the brand/model/settings of the camera that recorded these videos?        ony  PMW 320
When you import them into your Premiere Elements project, what does Premiere Elements Properties for that import give for
the audio description in the way of number of channels? If you open the Audio Meter (Window Menu/Audio Meters) and you play back
the video in the Premiere Elements Editor, how many channels does the Audio Meter display?
I just drag and drop video and when playing back only channel 1 will appear
What is your intended export for this video in terms of audio as well as video compression and formats?    MP4
I think you can only use audio if it's recorded on channel 1 or it does not recognize it.

  • Tune to other Channel that's already recording while it's recording

Maybe this is just the result of a horrible UI, but if I'm recording two shows, I'm on one of the channels (obviously), and want to switch to the other one LIVE (not go to the DVR and "play" what's recorded so far from the beginning), is this possible?
Example: We're recording channel 508 and 509. I'm on 508 but want to switch to 509.  I cannot channel up or enter 509. It tells me that I'd need to cancel one recording. But I'm not going to a 3rd channel!
    Any way around this?
    Thanks,

    I can't reproduce your problem.
    1) I started recording 600 and 618, but purposely used the Channel Up button to go from 600 to 618, thus stopping on two intermediate channels. Doing it this way, the Last button does not work, but entering the channel number (600 or 0600, 618 or 0618) most definitely worked. I also went into the Guide and selected the other channel from it, and that worked.
    2) I then cancelled the recording on 600, went to the already recording channel 618, then down to 617 and started recording that channel. Doing it that way allowed me to use the Last button to switch between 617 and 618 in either direction, as well as use the Channel Up/Down buttons and selection from the Guide.
So to me, my DVR (QIP7232) is working correctly. What model DVR do you have? And what level of the IMG? Were your recordings started by being scheduled or did you start them manually (I have no idea if that makes any difference)?

  • Is posible to replace one of the RGB channels???

hii everyone , i have a picture where the Blue channel is totaly black and noise, so i to know if is posible delete this and
create a copy a of the green or red channel and apply this as blue channel ???????
    thanks

Duplicate the image layer. Convert it to a smart object. Open the smart object. Convert it to LAB. Surface blur the A and B channels to get rid of the noise and nasties. Then save and close the smart object and use the advanced blending dialog to have only the blue channel blend with the layers below.

  • Important question: I have got a PXI-4472 and I am able to do single-channel acquisition. How does multi-channel acquisition work?

Look at the VI: it is quite eleborate, but the crucial point is Data Acquisition and Trigger&Gate (and, consequentely, Write to File operation).
I can add plot on the Waveform Graph DATA, this is rather easy, simply adding the channel numbers in the channel control (es. writing 0,3,7 will collect data from the three channels).
First question: is this operation of adding plots correct?
Second question: does the sampling rate dwindle when I consider multi-channel acquisition? I mean: 1 channel-->100KHz ; 2 channels-->50 KHz
More over, and MORE IMPORTANT: is it possible to set different trigger conditions for different channel
s? How can I control this operation?
Third: can you have a look at the VI as all (the appearence, the functionality, the logical sequence...). I am looking forward to get your advice. In particular:
Look at the frontal panel: what do you suggest to make it "smaller"? More tab controls?
Look at the Block Diagram: do I have to connect ERROR IN and ERROR OUT to every suVI or function that makes this connection possible (as Trigger&Gate and Write File)?
    Attachments:
    Start&StopTrig_SpectralMeas_style+image.vi ‏700 KB

First: yes, the operation is correct.
Second: yes again. When you consider a multi-channel acquisition, your sampling rate must be shared among the channels.
Third: when you specify a list of channels you want to acquire from, the channel considered for analog triggering is the first you put in the list.
Connect the error clusters whenever you can,in particular when you are dealing with I/O operations.
    Bye!

  • Channels not monitorable in the Communication Channel Monitor / RWB

    Hi,
Back on XI after a long break… ☺
I am facing an issue with our in-house JCA adapter used in XI scenarios. When trying to monitor the channels using our adapter from the Communication Channel Monitor in RWB, I have the following:
        Status: NA
Short Log: No adapter registered for this channel
The adapter is deployed and the integration scenarios using it work perfectly:
      - sda package deployed through the SDM
      - the metadata defined in the Design
      - a valid and working configuration involving the scenario is defined
The messages are going through and are monitorable in both SXMB_MONI and RWB...
All other channels using system adapters (File, RFC, SOAP…) do display a status (as a color icon) and a Short Log… and they can be administered (start/stop) using the enabled buttons when selected…
From the Adapter Monitor page, our adapter has a green status, and all the channels configured to use it display the status, Name and Text information...
I have no idea what could be the issue… should the adapter implement a special interface to be monitored from the RWB, is it a configuration issue, permissions issue???
I saw 2 posts with this error message but they did not help me to figure out where the issue is …
    Thanks for your help,

    Hi Gouri,
Thanks for your response, I will try would suggestion for testing... but
I am wondering why the namespace has to be http://sap.com/xi/XI/sample ???
It sounds weird that this namespace has to be fixed... as the purpose of a namespace is to create a isolation/container for names... so it needs to be customizable...
I did not see anything in the Adapter Development guides related to this kind of constraints...
    Thanks,

  • Speed up time of AI Create Channel.vi task containing thousands of channels

I am creating an AI task containing a total of 8000 channels of different channels with each channel being acquired many times before the next channel is acquired.  The channel list is something like 0,0,0,...,1,1,1,...,2,2,2...3,3,3... where each channel number would be acquired 2000 times.  The purpose is to perform averaging.  I am seeing that DAQmx Create Channel.vi takes about 100 msec to create 1000 channels for a total of 800 msec to create all channels (DAQmx 9.4, LV 11, WIN 7, CoreDuo P8700 2.5 GHz).  I would like to speed this up by a factor of 10 if possible.  Test vi attached.
    Attachments:
Create Multiple Channels duration.vi ‏17 KB

    Hi SteveP,
The DAQmx task contains data structures representing channels, which in turn contain other data structures representing channel properties and such. Most of the execution time of DAQmx Create Channel is spent allocating and initializing these data structures. They are separate from the task's input buffer (where data is stored until DAQmx Read is called). The input buffer is allocated when you reserve the task (which is normally done by DAQmx Start Task), and it is indeed allocated as a single large array.
DAQmx support for repeated channels focused on the SCXI use case, where hundreds of milliseconds of channel creation time seemed to be an acceptable tradeoff for measuring thousands of thermocouples. During development of NI-DAQmx 7.0, we used 3072 channels as our large system benchmark for channel creation, since that's the maximum number of channels supported by an SCXI task: 8 chassis x 12 modules x 32 channels (ignoring CJC channels). Repeated channels also make your use case possible, but this wasn't the original goal, otherwise we would have tried to make it easier to use for this purpose.
When replying to your previous thread on this topic (DAQmx AI Task with many samples CH0, then many CH2, then many CH3), I assumed that you were doing this because you were having problems when you took the straightforward approach to averaging, but Ben is right to point out that there are ways to deal with ghosting, cross talk, etc. What is the source impedance of the signals that you are measuring? How Do I Eliminate Ghosting From My Measurements? lists some options for dealing with high source impedance.
Failing that, is it possible for you to reduce the frequency at which your program creates and destroys tasks? If you can extend the task lifetime by reusing the same task more than once, you can avoid the channel creation overhead, or at least amortize it over the lifetime of the task. Note that you don't have to clear one task before you create a second one; you only have to make sure that two tasks don't have the same hardware reserved at the same time--if you do, you will get a reservation error. In most cases, stopping the first task before starting the second is sufficient to avoid this. It is possible to create multiple tasks up front, then switch between them throughout the rest of your program.

  • 2 channel oscilloscope not working on one channel, Better scope?

My experience with Labview is limited and I am just restarting after about a year. I have searched but do not see the answer to my question.
We upgraded from LV 7.0 to LV 7.1 and the 2 channel oscilloscope that is included as an example under V7.0 broke. I posted on the forum and was helped to download the updates to account for the legacy drivers. I did this and the scope started to work... sort of. I can't get channel 2 to work, the B channel. We have the 6036E mulitfcn board and the BNC-2120.
Does anyone know of a better LV scope or one that is available as free or shareware. I realize this could be written, but I don't have the expertise to do so at present. Or is there a way to fix the current scope? The only alternative I seem to have is to go back to V7.0 as this is the only scope I have.
    Thank you in advance.
    Robert Lewis

    Hello Robert,
From what I'm understanding you seem to have just installed LabVIEW 7.1 and are no longer able to load an application that you had running in LabVIEW 7.0.
What could be happening here is you may not have the installed the drivers for the DAQ device that you are using. I would recommend looking in the folder path C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\vi.lib and make sure that you have folders in there called "Daq" and "DAQmx". If those folders do not exist, then download the latest version of the driver (NI-DAQ Version 7.4 for Windows 2000/NT/XP) and make sure that you enable support for LabVIEW 7.1.
If the program you are running is a VI, then you might want to look inside the VI and see why there is the broken arrow as that would give you a better idea as to what is missing or broken.

No don't worry about those instructions, they have nothing to do with what I've done.
The way you'll get the color you want and the way I did the image above is:
Change your image to Grayscale mode, then change it back to CMYK and you should get something very close to the CMYK values you mentioned in your first post.
