Move "Close Tab" X back to the left
Is there a way to move the "close tab" X back to the left on the Windows version of Safari? I am used to the OSX version, so having the X on the right side drives me crazy.
Thanks!
Thanks but I upgraded to 28 instead of the downgrade to 29. Looks a LOT better and I prefer firefox over chrome. If I wanted chrome I'd install it instead of ff29 which a total POS. BTW your fix (as far as i could see) does not get rid of the at that some dumb ass coder decided docking the reload button to the right side of the address bad was a good idea. Lets see, undocked and allow user to control the way they use the software or docked and lock the user into the way some dickhead thinks it looks best. I wonder which is a better idea?

Title says it all.
Look at the pref browser.tabs.closeButtons on the <b>about:config</b> page.
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.tabs.closeButtons
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See:
* [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

How do i move my bookmarks back to the left hand side after synching?
Hi there,
I had to get a new lap-top and i synched the settings from my old Mozilla to this new lap-top.
It synched quite a lot of stuff; however, on this new lap-top the Bookmarks etc are all to the top right of the
screen but i really need the to be on the left like it was before.
Is there a way to move them across to my left?
I saw 1 other person asked this question but i did not understand the answer there.
The old lap top said it was Mozilla 34.0.5
This new one has the latest download.
I'm wondering if that is the reason the settings have moved over to the right?
Be really grateful if someone can tell me asap how to move them back to the left!
I only have basic pc knowledge!
thanks so muchIt sounds like you're looking for the bookmarks sidebar. Try clicking on the bookmarks icon in your toolbar (the button just to the right of the star), and selecting "View bookmarks sidebar".
If this isn't what you're after, and you just want to move the bookmarks button, you can do this by right-clicking on the same button and selecting "Customise". Once you've done that, you can drag the button to wherever you'd like it on the toolbar, and confirm the change by clicking the green "Exit customise" at the bottom-right of the Firefox window. -
Since updating to the latest Mozilla version, the Home Page icon has moved to the right of the navigation toolbar and the Refresh icon is attached to the browser search window. I have tried dragging them back to the left with no success. I HATE them in their new locations. Can you either put them back or make it possible for us to move them?
# Right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize to open the customize toolbar dialog
# With the customize toolbar dialog on display you can drag and drop the icons, placing them where you want -
# Question
i need to move home and refresh icons back to the left. I uninstalled Firefox 4 and reinstalled Firefox 3.6 and the home and refresh icons are still on the right. Help! You can right-click on the "Home" button and choose "Customize," then drag all of the icons (including Home and Reload) to where you want them.

How do I move the home page button back to the left side of the menu bar?
When I installed Firefox 4.0, the home page button "moved" to the right top of the menu bar. It was at the top left in the previous versions of Firefox. I want to put it back on the left. I use a desktop Mac Pro with Mac OS 10.5.8.

how do i add the "open a new tab" plus sign button, back to tabs & bookmarks back to the menu bar? i was able to click & drag bookmarks and folders containing bookmarks from the bookmark menu to a toolbar and the tab + button was always on the right side of a tab before i saw ff 13.0.1 on windows 7.
areas i need back, have red around 'em
http://i48.tinypic.com/25gue0x.jpgSomehow your bookmarks that normally appear on the separate Bookmarks Toolbar (the part on the left) got onto your main Navigation Toolbar. To move them back, return to Customize mode and drag "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" to the Bookmarks Toolbar. Then click Done and hopefully that will stick.

in the new version of att yahoo mail that I have been using for weeks for some reason the left column which shows inbox etc extends the width of a page and I am not able to see the emails. I cannot pull the column back to the left. If I switch to ATT yahoo classic it is fine, but not in the newer ATT yahoo mail.

This spring we changed from IE to Mozilla after upgrading to Win 7. Everything has been fine with Firefox until yesterday when it crashed when I attempted to open an email. Since then the bookmarks (or favorites as my husband calls them) have not been in their usual place which was along the left side of the page. They are located in the Bookmarks bar at the top of the page but husband prefers the old IE way which we had until yesterday PM. Is there any way that we can get them back to the left side of the page other than going back to IE? Now that I have gotten used to Firefox I like it just fine.
*You can open the Bookmarks in the sidebar via View > Sidebar > Bookmarks (Ctrl+B)
*You can open the History in the sidebar via View > Sidebar > History (Ctrl+H)
Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
You can find toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks (star) and the history (clock) in the sidebar in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.<br />
Firefox 4 versions and later have two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.<br />
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu.<br />
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.<br />

The Device link on my iTunes is missing. How do I get it back into the left column?
Top Sites, you mean? You can instruct Safari to open these in the General section of the preferences.

My desktop icons mysteriously moved from the left to the right of the screen, and scrambled the order. When I try to drag them back to the left, they pop right back to the right when I release the mouse. What can I do to place them where I want them on the screen?
A LOT of them dont appear.
What do you see in the window when you click on those? A blank, black window? An exclamation mark? What? -
My ITunes is acting odd. I have to click on the tabs (ie Music) on the left a bunch of times in order to get to the screen. Also, I can't edit track names by double clicking on them. I downloaded the new ITunes as well. Any solutions? Thanks.

How do I move my tabs back to the left hand side of the screen?
Until today, all of my open tabs have appeared in a top to bottom column running down the left hand side of my screen, which works great.
When I logged in a few minutes ago, the tabs appeared for the first time in a horizontal row running across the bottom of the screen. I would like to reposition the tabs list to its original orientation and location. How do I do that? That is not a built-in option in Firefox, you must have an add-on that has added that capability. There are several add-ons that can move the tab bar, check your installed add-ons to see if one of them has that option.
