If you've been using a mac to sync, then the contacts may be in your Apple Address Book. If so, then connect the iPhone 4s to your mac and in the device settings, indicate that you want the address book to sync with the iphone.

My new iPhone 4 is on the way from Verizon, and I too am moving on from the LG Versa (a poor man's iPhone) so I've researched this. I trust you have been using the backup assistant on the LG phone to backup your contacts? If so, and you investigate the app store you will see an app for doing the same task on you new iPhone. Initially it will take you LG contacts you have backed up at Verizon to their new home on the iPhone.
According to user comments there appear to be a couple of issues with the app you need to be aware of:
1. It will not automatically backup your iPhone, you will need to initiate updates in the future on your own. and
2. You will see in the comments, that there have been some issues with length of backup when you add lots of contact photos to your list.
This coupled with the address book sync from your computer should make your list whole, in fact the move to the iPhone will allow me to consolidate my address book with my cell phone contacts. Then once I remove the duplicates all will be right with the world.

You can do one of two things:
1) Create a dummy contact in the Mac Address Book (make one up), then sync the iPhone - you'll be prompted to merge or replace - choose Merge.
2) Export the contacts from Outlook or WAB and import them into Address Book. If you're using Outlook, select all the contacts in Outlook, then right-click one of them and select Forward Items. You'll then get an email with all your contacts as individual .vcf files. You can email that to yourself, or just copy all those files to a flash drive. -

You can set up separate photostreams so they act, for all intents and purposes, like albums. They would sync with your MacPro (or do you mean MacBook Pro -- laptop?), and any change you make will by synced with both machines. Sound good?

Hi, going crazy. Can't get this fixed. Unable to retrieve contact info from synch server. I did re-do synch using one time only replace I-phone info from "contacts" on computer and tried synching after that - no use same error!
I saw someone by name of Gator wrote pathways to follow in windows but got only as far as user (yes, selected my name as user as opposed to public) then clicked it open but lost after that - can't get to appdata for the next step.... any help or ideas would be soooooo appreciated. I'm so tired of this issue. thanks!

How can I remove my company’s iCloud Contacts account from a former employee's iPhone and have the current information removed from their iPhone at the same time as well? Will just changing the iCloud password be enough? Our company shares an iCloud account for convenience but when someone leaves we don't want the information to stay on their iPhone.
Changing the password would only block them from accessing the iCloud information. They would still have access to the local copy on thier phone. To delete the local information, you would need to go to Settings>iCloud on the phone, tap Delete Account, then choose Delete from My iPhone. (This only deletes the iCloud account and data from the phone, not from iCloud.) This, obviously, must be done during the exit process as it requires access to the phone.

WWhat are you syncing your contacts with? A supported application on the computer or cloud service? They should still be there.

Although contacts are included with the iPhone's backup, contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer and/or over the air with an email account that supports it, and there are several that do which are free.
Not a good idea to depend on the iPhone or any cell phone alone for contacts which can be lost or stolen or damaged beyond repair. If the contacts are available elsewhere as designed and intended, it doesn't matter if there is a problem with your iPhone's backup in regards to this data. -

Hello all!
I would like to be able to reply to a large amount of Craigslist emails by pulling the contact info from Craigslist using Automator and putting the emails in a text document.
I have Automator set to:
1. Open Safari
2. Open the Craigslist section an city I want.
3. Pull a list of active listings URL'S
Beyond that, I can not figure out how to have Automator open one page at a time and click the contact info button and then copy the needed info into my text document.
I can have it open all 150 links at one time.....lol but that wont work on my Macbook!!!!

Once you merge contacts with iCloud or any back up for that matter, it will be merged until you go through and decifer which contacts you would like to keep.
