Move/Copy page outside its page group

oracle 9ias:
I want to move a page from a page group to another.
I could try to update the table containing the concerning table manually (update WWPOB_PAGE$ and set siteid and parentid), but I have no idea if that is a safe solution.
Any ideas would be most welcome,

I like your idea. However, being dealing with transport issues on almost daily basis for quite some time, I think it will not work either.
First, what I understood from your brief suggestion is this:
get the transport set by exporting a page group from source,
import the transport set on the target.
rename page group back to original page group name.
some of the problems will be as follows:
- You may export a page group on the target which will no longer exist on the source. However, the GUID of the page group will stay the same during renaming. so future exports and transports will give you conflicts.
- Note that the page-group and pages transports are supported if you delete the pages on the target machine. this is something which you get from the portal transport supportability scenarios. see note 333867.1 on Metalink.
- also note that it is not supported to rename or edit on target machine, or to create a fresh page or page group on the target with the same name as you are importing in from the source.
- Also renaming a default page group (like SHARED, or TOPLEVELSITE, etc) and trying to move content from it to another system will be problematic too.
I will be interested in knowing if you did a successful experiment of at least two successive transports in the way you prescribed.

I need to copy one page or multiple from one page group DEV to page group TEST. I thought of using Portal Export/Import feature for the same, but it will ask for same page group at import.
Requirement is to keep one set of page group for DEV stage, when it got completed move it to TEST page group in same instance.

I did not understand this and isn't working for me. :(
The message I receive when I click on the Copy link on the Navigator is:
Click "Copy Here" next to the page under which you want to create a copy of your page. Click the link next to the page group to create the copy under the root page of the page group. You can create a copy of a page only under a page in the same page group as the original page.
And it only displays the current page group with a tree structure of all the pages in the current page group (page group name being the root).
Please help me on this as I have a similar requirement and am using 10.1.2 version of Oracle Portal.

How to copy a page(in my case webpart page) with its content(it may contain webparts) using client code (i mean using SPservices or ECMA script).
What i am planning is ,to give end user a page where it will contain text box to specify name of page and a button with the help of content editor webpart.
where on click of button we need to write client side code such that it should create a new page from a existing page in a library with given name by user.
Any suggestion would be helpful. For your information we can do it through UI with the help Site Actions / Manage Content and Structure.But i want to automate it using client side code.Server side code is restricted.
or can we create a template of an existing page with content without the help of sharepoint designer.

Through Portal it is not possible to copy a page from one page group to another .
There is a feature in Portal WebDav .
Through a DAV client you can copy page to your local system as a folder and then drag the page to the pagegroup you want to copy .

Create a "Page Link" item, one of the built-in item types. When specifying the attributes for this item, you should be able to choose pages in other page groups.

Moving Pages from one Page Group to Another Group

Hello,
How do you move pages, styles, or items from one page group to another page group?
On the same machine, I have three page groups called Production, Acceptance, and Test. Once I set up a page that I like on the page group Test, what is the best way to move the page(and its items, portlets,etc) to the page group Acceptance, and then move it into Production?
Also, how does security and approvals affect this? There is only limited amount of people that are able to get into the Test Page Group, or Acceptance Page Group. Would any copying process make sure the page approvers be copied across correctly? Or will manual intervention be needed.
I'm using Oracle Portal Release 2 (9.0.2) running on a solaris machine.

As far as i know, the pages can only be moved within the page group but not from one page group to another page group.

Movie file on photo gallery page

I added a small movie file to the bottom on a photo gallery page. That works out fine, but then the same movie displays at the bottom of each page when individual images are displayed, which I don't want.
I know that it's all one page under the hood... but is there any way to add a movie so it just shows under the gallery thumbnails?

I would happily have a thumbnail pointing to the movie file but if I drag the movie into the gallery section it just lands on top of all the thumbnails.
Drag the movie from the mediabrowser or desktop into the photogrid.

Page break in between group and subreport

I have created a report with one group based on the customer order number.   We want the user to be able to run a range of customers orders. For example, print 10 customer orders at one time. The group pulls the required information for each
customer order.   After each customer order, I have a sub-report that is a pallet pick sheet.   We want a page break after each group, so the sub-report prints on a separate page. It goes like this
customer order 137158 detail - 1st iteration of the group.
page break
sub-report pallet pick sheet for 137158 - starts on a new page.
page break
customer order 137159 detail starts on a new page. - 2nd iteration of the group.
page break
sub-report pallet pick sheet 137159 - starts a new page.
I would really appreciate if someone can help solve this issue. I've spent over half a day reading forums and trying different solutions, and every attempt at adding page breaks seems to be ignored.   I'm working with SSRS 2012.

I had the company logo and a title outside of the data tablix.   When I moved these into the list table, the issue with the additional white space was resolved.   At this point, we have resolved the page break and the extra white space
on the report.   I have one more issue.
On the main report, I have two parameters for starting customer order number and ending customer order number.   I created the same parameters on the sub-report. When I run the report, I enter a range of 139818 to 139824.   The
main report which is the customer order information prints correctly.   However, instead of getting just the sub-report for the first order which is 139818, I get a sub report for every order in the range.   Then, the main report
prints order 139819, and then repeats the sub-report loop for every order.  So, each time the main report prints, I get 7 sub-reports.   How do I link the main report to the sub-report so there is a one to one match so only
one sub-report is generated per customer order?

What Rudegar says is true, but it's a lot easier to rearrange icons in iTunes:
Connect your phone and open iTunes.
Click on the Apps tab.
You will see your home screen in the main window, with the other screens in a scrollable column on the right. Scroll down and click on the last page to put it in main window.
Now scroll the column so the home page is visible on the right.
Click on the Camera and drag it onto the home page at the right.
Be careful not to accidentally insert it into another app, thereby creating a group.

How to check if a page item is outside a page

Hi all
I'm a developer tasked with doing some automation in InDesign, using scripting via .NET. As I'm a developer, I'm not really fluent in the language of layout, so please bear with me.
My script creates a variable amount of TextFrame's on a page and moves them, and then rotates them. Some of them might exit the page on the right side. If only one of the text frame's bottom-right anchor point happens to be outside of the page to the right, I need to detect it. It's no problem iterating over the text frames, but the challenge is how I determine if a text frame's bottom-right anchor point is positioned outside of the page.
I've looked at GeometricBounds, but as soon as the position is to the right of the page, the coordinates start from 0 again. So I can't do it like GeometricBounds.X > Page.Width, because GeometricBounds.X will less than Page.Width when it's to the right of the page.
I've also looked at PageItem.Resolve, but that function really confuses me. I tried resolving the anchor point to pasteboard coordinates, and that seems to work okay. But then I have to get the page's right edge in pasteboard coordinates, and it doesn't seem I can use PageItem.Resolve to get that.
I've looked at the programming guide to figure out how the different coordinate systems work together, but when I use PageItem.Resolve, I get results that doesn't seem to be correct according to where the coordinate systems should be.
I'm sure it's easy to detect if a text frame is outside a page, but I just need a pointer in the right direction. Can anyone help me with that? :-)

I tried setting the ruler origin to spread, and that made it possible for me to compare the coordinates returned from VisibleBounds directly. (And thanks for the tip about VisibleBounds instead of GeometricBounds)
Again, thanks alot, really. I've spent some time now trying to figure this one out, so it's really a relief to get this one resolved.
Oh, and even though it's not really related to my question or the solution, I can't help but comment on your 3rd point. I've certainly had my share of challenges using InDesign scripting from .NET, but once you know the quirks, it works pretty well and I certainly don't consider it a painful experience. As I said there's some issues to be aware of, but not something that stops me in my day-to-day work or slows me down. I've only worked with scripting InDesign via .NET for the last 2½ months, but at this point, I would definitely choose .NET scripting over Javascript even despite the quirks. But that's just my oppinion. :-)

Forgot to add that it would be an adjustment layer with some kind of mask on it already. The mask is uncentered when copy and pasted which throws it off.
I guess the same question would go towards doing the same for an object. How to copy and paste it over to a new doc, keeping its position within the document? is this possible?

Open a QT movie in editable region of page (template)

I am using templates for my site. I'd like a movie link to open in a dependent page in the editable region of the page if possible. Can't seem to make it happen. The movie always opens in its own blank page.
