    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Mail preferences > Accounts and set it up using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • Why can I not access ICloud mail on Mac Mail anymore.  When I reopen a new ICloud account, the "incoming server" box is gray and I cannot enter anything.   This happened the 3-4 times I attempted to start a new icloud account?

Was getting ICloud mail then it stopped.   Icons next to ICloud on my mac mail say it's a netweork error.   I tried deleting the iCloud account several times and reentering it but it always leaves out the info that goes into the "incoming server" box and there is no way to manually enter it as the box is grayed out.

Sign out of iCloud (system preference>iCloud) reboot and sign back in.

  • Issues sending iCloud mail via Mac Mail client

I'm running OS X Yosemite and use the Mac Mail client to handle mail for my iCloud (mac.com), wish.edu, Gmail, and Outlook accounts.  All work fine and always have... until a few weeks ago.  I came to figure out that while sending email through my iCloud account will show up as a sent email in the sent folder (on my MacBook Pro as well as the web interface and IOS devices) the messages do not get received on the other end.  No error messages.  No returns.  Everything looks normal on my end but the emails never get delivered.
I logged out of iCloud and logged back in.  I checks the outgoing server info and passwords. I restarted (a lot).  When I run tests, emails sent from the Mac Mail client on my laptop don't get there.  They do get received when sent via the iCloud web interface as well as from my iPhone and iPad.  I even downloaded PostBox and set it up with the exact same settings as Mac Mail, and it sends the iCloud mail just fine.
This is driving me nuts.  I love Mac Mail, and have used it for years.  I don;t want to have to abandon it for this.  Help?

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where i have to send the Pdf format of the billing document as a mail to the customer. And my client wants to send the mail via outlook so that they can modify the body content for each mail. Right now i have achieved the functionality of sending the mail with Pdf attachment form SAP.
Can anyone please help me by providing some information about how to send mail from SAP via Outlook.
    Thanks!

  • Two problems:  iPhone Calendar is not sync w/ MacBookPro.  Not receiving iCloud mail on Mac but am receiving it on iPhone.

How can I get the iPhone calendar to sync with MacBook Pro both when it is plugged into Mac and through the cloud?
What would cause the MacBook Pro to not be able to retrieve mobileme mail when it still retrieves the comcast mail?  Can you help me get my mobileme email back on the MacBook Pro?

Thanks. There is another thread that shares a solution that involves deleting ical Library cache files and Preference files.  I"ll see if that works.  ICloud shouldn't be a factor in my case since I don't use it and it's "off" in Preferences. I am encouraged that I don't need to use it to fix this issue based on other's experiences, but we'll see!

  • TS3276 How to receive iCloud mail in Mac OS v10.6.8?

I was able to receive MobileMe email on my MacBook Pro running OS X v10.6.8 even after I converted my MobileMe account to iCloud (through another laptop running v10.7 and an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1).
However, a couple of days ago, I am no longer able to send or receive email through Mail on this laptop and constantly get a pop-up window to re-enter my password.
Does anyone know if this is a persistant problem that will affect Snow Leopard given iCloud's integration into Lion?
    Sincerely,
    Mike

I use a web based email account, so it's accesible from any device that can browse the web, I find this the best solution than being chained into a locked format or device. And there are plenty of web based email accounts to choose from. Gmail, Yahoo, HushMail etc. etc.,

  • HT5527 I did not move my Mobileme account to iCloud. How can I get off the iCloud mailing list?

I did not move my Mobileme account to iCloud. How can I get off the iCloud mailing list?

If you migrated your MobileMe account before 1 August you should have signed into System Preferences>iCloud with it, and you would be able to see your calendars, bookmarks and emails on the iCloud website. Is this the case? Did you sign into iCloud with your @me.com address?
If you did not migrate your MobileMe account you can no longer do so.
If you did migrate, did you do so from a full MobileMe account or from a Family Pack sub-account? the latter did not get the complimentary storage (because their iDisks were only 5GB anyway).
If you had a full MobileMe account, check on your Mac - System Preferences>iCloud - and see whether that shows the upgrade. If it doesn't, you probably need to contact Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support (MobileMe Support is no longer available) and you may be asked to pay a fee: in this case you should ask them to deal with it without cost (and hope they agree).
Note that you haven't paid anything for your MobileMe storage since your first renewal date after 6 June 2011, and iCloud costs nothing unless you specifically choose to upgrade the storage. Note also the iCloud storage is not general file storage in the manner of the iDisk but is restricted to iOS device Backup, Mail, Photo Journal and Documents.

The Imap account does not need to be moved, sign in on the new machine, your mail will be there.
Does this mean even though these mails had been downloaded to the first Mac, they are still stored online too
Yes, Imap systems store all mail on the server, all connected clients are synchronized to the server (the mail itself stays on the server)
... regarding the POP accounts. Do you simply want the contents are or you planning on continued use of these accounts on the new machine?
    Continued use.
Export each mailbox from the old machine to the desktop, to do so select a mailbox, rght click and choose Export, repeat for all others. Move the mailboxes to the new machine'sdesktop.
I suggest setting up the new accounts before importing the mail from the old machine.
In mail choose File>Import Mailboxes, choose the ones on the desktop (one at a time) a new mailbox will appear in Mail called Imported, you can move mail from there back to the correct mailbox in the POP accounts.

  • ICloud mail sync between iPhone 4S and Mac Book

I am new in the Apple world. I have a brand new Apple MacBook Pro right out of the box and an older iPhone 4S, using a Pop3 mail account (and for various reasons I do NOT want to change to IMAP, e.g. storage space issues on the server). I do not use Gmail or any other of these services, but use my own e-mail via my website provider. I download e-mails via POP3 onto various computers (but leaving e-mails on the server for a period of 4 weeks).
I can send and receive e-mails, no problem on my Mac nor my iPhone.
To sync between both (esp. with regard to sent mails) I have created an icloud account which works fine for synchronising my contacts, for example. But it does not in any way synchronise my e-mails between the devices or show any e-mails in icloud mail (in icloud or on in Mac mail) at all. The folder is there, it's just empty.
I changed over from Windows after being frustrated by performance issues (although I am starting to miss Outlook already). But in the Apple world I am already overwhelmed by the feeling that I do not have the slightest idea of how to set up things here...I am aware that I might not get the simplest basics, but I have no one to ask (since all friends are Microsofts-addicts).
I use three e-mails accounts (work and private) and now I am already stuck with getting to run one and sync it over the devices, let alone three.
    Thanks for any help!
    Stephanie

Apparently you must be very narrow minded. I don't want to develop an e-mail client from the scratch.
I would implement the sync the following way.
Assuming I use POP3 on both my iPhone and my MacBook. On my iPhone mail client I am downloading e-mails and reading them from time to time and replying. There is an ended set of what you actions you can do with your e-mails. Every e-mail has a unique ID / fingerprint - you can recognize it with 100% accuracy. I'm also downloading e-mails on my MacBook mac mail and performe the same ended set of actions on this e-mails. So the system architecture should be as follows:
    1. MacBook mail client queues all the actions I have performed with my e-mails on my MacBook.
    2. iPhone mail client does the same - creates a queues with actions I have performed on my iPhone.
    3. If I have the syncing turned on on both of my devices and I'm logged in on both of them with the same Apple ID both devices process the queues to my iCloud, compare it and update status of my e-mails according to the actions in each queue.
So I will rather wait until Apple will do this simple solution.

  • How do I add my iCloud mail to Outlook for Mac

I can't seem to get my iCloud mail account to sync with my Outlook for Mac!  It used to be on there but kept giving me error messages saying it couldn't pick up my mail because it couldn't find the server.  I took it off now I can't get it back on.

Check that you have the server settings shown in this Apple Tech Note:

  • My iCloud mail is used in my old apple id, how can i move my old iCloud mail to my new apple id

my iCloud mail is used in my old apple id, how can i move my old iCloud mail to my new apple id

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • No Longer Possible to Access iCloud Mail on Third Party Mac

Something has changed recently. It is no longer possible to access iCloud mail on a third party mac via web browser
This afternoon, I tried to do so on my daughter's iMac - and the system wanted me to set up iCloud rather than letting me access Mail (or any other iCloud services for that matter) instead. Tried different browsers, change of login account on the computer. All to no avail. Have to set up iCloud on the computer. Which means either logging my daughter out, or creating a whole new identity for the purpose. This entirely defeats the notion of the simple webmail interface - and indeed makes Pages, Calendar, etc inaccessible unless on your own computer, or one that you have used to set up an iCloud account. Not something that you want to do in an internet cafe or an airport lounge.
Two sets of Chat Support sessions later, with the problem being hinted to be probably due to "my daughter's computer (!!???)", no satisfaction
I am now in the airport, trying to still access my iCloud mail through a web browser. Same nonsense about setting up iCloud before I can access my iCloud mail via the web through a browser.
Apple, this was one of the advantages of iCloud that I, as a regular traveller, have found useful in the past. Today I have wasted well over an hour on something that is clearly an error in the logic of how people will be using iCloud - possibly a "feature" of Mavericks?
Please bring back simple and straightforward access to iCloud mail via web browser, so that I can once again access my mail from any third party computer.
    Thanks
    Nic

Excellent, well done. I have to say that talktalk were useless, they repeatedly sent me instructions for setting up an emil account and did not seem able to understand that it was the login that would not work. Thank you.

  • I have old folders in TB for a RETIRED account. I'm trying to move the mail to a new mac. If I want more than headers Thunderbird wants a password? Solution?

    As I said above.
I had moved a bunch of old emails using TBird and I'm trying to get them moved to a new mac. The email has long been cancelled and the company who hosted it doesn't exist any more. The domain has changed hands a couple of times.
I set up the accounts on the mac that are still active, backed up as told from the old machine.
When I follow the procedure, I get the headers of the messages only and I can't move them to any other photo. TBird gets in a loop of asking for a password for me to move the mail.
I have read/write privileges on everything. Yet these messages are useless. I've tried to import them into the mail app, and apple can import 2 folders but the others don't show up as an option.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I ended up finding a solution on the macworld hints site here: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20050402143519725
Navigate to ~/Library: Thunderbird: Profiles: your_profile: Mail: Local Folders. Identify the mailboxes you seek to use in Mail.app.
Each mailbox has three pieces to it - i.e. inbox.sbd, inbox.msf and inbox with no extension.
*Take the file with no extension, hold down the Option key (so it also stays in the folder) and drag it to the desktop.
*Rename this copy with .mbox as the file extension. For example, inbox becomes inbox.mbox.
    * Open Mail.app and select File: Import, choose Other, and navigate to the desktop and click Choose. (Choose the file you just renamed.) Your mailbox(es) should appear in the import window and will import into Mail.app.
[robg adds: This earlier hint provided a script to clean up Mozilla Mail's files for import to Mail. This is apparently due to a problem with Mail's handling of whitespace (according to the posted comments). Since Thunderbird is evolved from Mozilla Mail, there may be a similar issue with importing some mboxes. If you have issues, you might want to try the script from the previous hint...]
