Move info to one library to another

Is there a way to transfer info from one library to another? Because there is album artwork I want to move from my brother's library to mine

The artwork is in the mp3 files. Just copy the files. Make sure the names are identical and drop them in the same locations and iTunes won't know the diference but the artwork will now be displayed.

For just a few export them out of Library A via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original and import them into Library B.
However, this will not include any edits or metadata (keywords, titles, etc.) that you've added.
To get the original image, any edits and all metadata, keywords, titles, descriptions, places, etc., you'll need the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager. It can copy albums or events from one library to another and keep those items I mentioned earlier with the photos.

1. Export from one, import to the other. Though you will not get all the versions if you do this. You also need to be sure to sue the options in the Expor dialogue to write all the metadata to the files or that won't come over. Note there is no way to export Faces data.
2. Use iPhoto Library Manager to move the files and all versions and all metadata - including Faces - between libraries. However this hasn't been fully updated for iPhoto 11 so you'll need to wait a few days.

How can I export direct from one Library to another? Currently I am exporting to desktop and then importing to alternative Library. This works including file name and description. However Faces info is lost. How can I retain Faces info?

It is not possible to "export" face information - there is no defined place to put it

How do I move photos from one library to another?

I have moved my 34gig iphoto library from my MBP to an external drive. I have now created a second library on the MBP with the intention of keeping just a smaller selection of my photos in this ready to edit.
Is there an easy way of importing photos from the old library on the external drive to the new one? Do they link up in any way, or, will I need to export a selection from the old library to a new folder on the desktop and then import from there?

To move all the versions, metadata and photos from one Library to another use iPhoto Library Manager.
Exporting from one and then importing to another will not get all the metadata (Faces, for instance) nor will it get the versions.
Another way to achieve what you seem to want to do:
1. Quit iPhoto.
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the external drive.
Now you have two full copies of the Library. To choose between them: Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
3. On the Internal Library, remove the pics you don't want with you all the time.
Now you have one full library on the external and another smaller sub-set on the Internal.
A couple of comments:
a. The external disk needs to be formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
b: When you're removing the unwanted pics from the Internal Library you need to delete them in batches of about 100 or so. Trashing more at one time can cause problems with the database.

Hi Brain,
From your narration, I undersatnd that you want to move document to another library across site or site collection. However,
the copy list item action is used for coping list item to another library or list in the same site, so you can’t achieve it through ootb workflow action. So to move document to another library across site under the same site collection, then you can use site
content and structure. If across site collection, then I suggest you use that the 3<sup>rd</sup> part workflow action.

- Why do you want to copy?

Can I move albums from one library to another

I relatively new to Aperture. I have used iPhoto since it's beginning.
I have suceeded in exporting a set of selected Projects from my main Aperture Library to create a new library on another HD. I have a lot of albums (not smart albums) that I use to organize those projects in various ways. How can I also move those albums to my new library on the external HD?
Maybe to explain a bit more. My Aperture Library has grown too large to work with effectively on my MacBook Pro. So I am wanting to split the large library to one for WORK and one for HOME, but also be able to keep the way I have organized those photos for work in albums and the ones I have for home in their albums.
I am not too deep into the project to work it another way, if someone would have some advice on how to split my library and keep my album/folder organization.

You can export albums as a new library, just like you exported your projects. Then merge the albums into your library on your other computer.
When you export a selection of albums a a new library, Aperture will export and include the originating projects as well, so the exported library needs to be merged into the destination library, not "added", otherwise you will have duplicates.

How can I move clips from one library to another? Clips are still in original drive and not in new drive.

I am using iMovie 10.0.7 on a 1-week old iMac 27" running Yosemite 10.10.2. I migrated from iMovie 9 on a 2008 iMac running Snow Leopard and updated the libraries and events, etc.
I have two external drives connected via USB. I want to move / consolidate the library and clips from one of the external drives to the new iMac's 3TB fusion drive. This is to make room on the external drive to run Time Machine backups.
Apple's instructions on managing libraries and moving/copying clips/events tell me to drag to move between libraries and to Option-drag to copy. However, simply dragging only copies. I find that if I Command-drag the events/clips, I can "move" them. But when I look outside iMovie in the Mac OS X Finder, the event folders and clip files themselves are still sitting in the original drive.
I'm very perplexed as to how to really move the clips and event structure. Should I manually copy the clips and event folder structure outside of iMovie? I worry I will mess up iMovie's internal record keeping and folder structure information.

Ahh, Ok. I actually had to go to Lynda.com to watch a training video of this highly bassackwards maneuver, but now I have it. In other words, while the intuitive thing is to make a new event to hold the clip you want and then open the old event and drag the clip into it's new event, the only way to accomplish this maneuver is to NOT create a new event, but rather, go to the clip AFTER the one you want to move, select it and then Right-Click on it and select SPLIT EVENT BEFORE SELECTED CLIP (or go to FILE>SPLIT EVENT BEFORE SELECTED CLIP). Then you wait a few seconds while the program thinks a bit (no feedback it is doing this - just a pause) and then it automatically creates a new event with the clip you wanted. Now just double-click the new event and name it something meaningful.

Move album from one library to another without creating a new project

I accidentally added photos to a new album in the wrong library. I want to move this album with masters and versions to the right library. I exported the album as a project. Then I import the project into the library where I want the album to appear. Importing using either merge or add creates a new project which contains the album. Is there a way to put the album into an already existing project without creating a new one? Using Aperture 3.1.1.

As Frank said, masters and versions all move together. They can't be separated because a version can't exist without a Master file. In fact, when working in RAW everything you see in Aperture is a version since RAW files need to be rendered for onscreen viewing. The masters are on your hard drive somewhere (managed or referenced) and what you see when you import a RAW file is simply an unedited version 1.
This is one of the most important concepts to grasp: you're never actually working with the masters. Aperture is just a big database pointing to files and applying instructions (adjustments) to those files in realtime on your screen.
Just remember that a picture and any of its versions can appear in many albums, in many different places. But as I said earlier, it can only appear in one project. Move a picture from a project and everything follows. Versions are just different renditions of the same master file.

Move info from one cell to another based on a third cell's content

Okay I'm not sure that this is possible but I thought I would put it out there to see if someone can help me figure this out
Lets start with the first sheet of data:
From this sheet I would like to move multiple cell's content to cells on another sheet based on the selection of the "SOLD" column.
This is the second sheet....
Basically, lets say that some one would select "Y" for the sold column on sheet one. Once "Y" is selected the text from each respective cell in the row would move to the second sheet. So if row 1 "SOLD" = "Y" then "LAST NAME" would move to "CUSTOMER", "DATE" would move to "DATE", "NEW / USED" would move to "NEW / USED"
To complicate it further, is there a way that each new set of data that would move over would automatically go to the next clear row? I will try to illustrate what I mean below:
...Also I should mention that there are three different sheets that would fill the final recap sheet....
Sheet 1: "BOB"
Sheet 2: "SUZIE"

Know this is a stretch but thank you for any input.

What I mean is, if the data can't be input in one table (generally an efficient approach) then have several people input it in their own tables (in a standardized format), then consolidate the data into one table (that parts very quick) and use the power of the Numbers interface to look at different views of your data. The sort and filter features are quick and powerful. Otherwise, you'll have to manage formulas in both the individual input tables and in the data table and you'll need extra "index" columns. That's doable, but I would guess unlikely to save time in the end. Unless I've misunderstood your situation.

It is very easy. First get something to transfer your itunes file to the laptop (network$, thumb drive$$ (depending the size), external hard drive$$$ with cost of drive and plus a case it can be costly). Those are in order of slowness! After all those files are on the desktop download itunes. DO NOT download itunes first you will be begging for trouble. Open itunes and it will take a few seconds and it should find the file on it's own. Now all you need to do is sign into itunes agree to all the fun stuff and there you go. I did mine with an external Sata hard drive via esata and it could not of been easier. To find the file you need go into music/my music and find the big file named itunes. just copy and past and let er rip.
