Move/Install apps to SD Card

Is it possible to "move" applications to SD card? The only two Firefox Phones available in India are Intex Cloud FX and Spice Fire One MX, both are lower end phones and do not have much internal memory. I wish to buy one but I feel internal will give me a bit of head ache if apps can only be installed in phone memory.
Thank you in advance.

Apps that are available will take up very little space on the phone, so there is no worry behind that. At this moment, I do not believe that it is possible to move apps to the SD card.

  • How to install app in sd card in lenovo A328?

    Dear,
    lenovo community.
please tell me how to move app in sd card , please give us answer in a video or in a detailed form . So , that i should solve the problem?

You may either goto http://store.ovi.com/ thru' your Phone browser or use the Nokia Store application on your phone..Login and select the Application you want. Select Download (..if its a paid application complete the formalities of the Payment) and the application will start downloading. When complete it will proceed for installation..so follow the instruction in your phone display.
Other way is to http://store.ovi.com/ on you PC.. Login, Select the application and click 'Download' and it will give you an option to send link thru' SMS. When you receive the link ..Open it and follow instructions..
If you search for any application thru' Google and want to download / Buy it from the Developers' or other site..first download it to the PC. Then connect your phone to PC and Double click on the application installer. It will automatically activate the Nokia Suite (..hopefully installed on your PC) and then follow instructions..

  • Lenovo A328 - Does not install apps on SD Card?

Bought this phone recently and I noticed that even if I put SD card and select it as the "default write" storage in the settings, apps I downloaded on Google Play still do not install directly to the card and I kept on getting insufficient storage space error messages. Is it really like that or the phone I got might be defective?  I tried different SD cards and got the same results. Thanks!

    Hi
    No,your phone isn't defective.
With the launch of Android 4.4 KitKat, Google has imposed some serious limitations regarding SD cards(that's the main reason you can't move apps to the SD card).
Secondly some apps really need to be installed to the internal memory.
Thirdly the A328 has a limited 4GB internal memory and about 2.2GB are used by the system,so...
    Again...No,your phone isn't defective.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • How to move an app from sd card to phone memory

I use BlackBerry z10. When I install some app,but it automatically saved into sd card. So I cannot run the app. How can I move the app? Or how can I set the setting so every time I install an app,it would only go to my phone memory?

How are you installing the app ?.
Apps will only install on the phone, the sd card can only store media and files.
Android apps (apk) have to be sideloaded.

  • How to install apps on sd card in Windows 8.1

Why is it not possible to install apps from the Windows Store on to sd cards in the Windows 8.1 OS????
This is absolutely frustrating because you guys obviously blocked the functionality to change it since Windows 8, and since I've updated my tablet has been unable to hold as many applications and games I need.
Don't tell me to clean my file space or uninstall things, alot of your users are fed up and ready to ditch the OS all together so why don't you guys address the problem in an update asap rather than misleading your trusted users. Spare a thought for
people with 32gb tablets that are raising your overall sales of tablets with your OS on them, or get ready for a lot more android tablets to take their places.

who do you mean "you guys"?

  • Installing Apps to SD card, NOT Device Memory

I just received my first ever BlackBerry (the Bold), after using Windows PDAs for several years.  I installed some third party apps (some E-books) using the Desktop Manager.  I didn't see an option to select whether I wanted the apps on the SD card or in Device Memory, so I assume they went to Device Memory.
Is there a way to install apps like e-books to the SD card instead of device memory?
    Thanks.

Actually I once had an app that claimed if you saved the "over the phone" installation file (forgot extension) to the SD card via the media manager and double clicked on it it would be installed on the SD card. I do not know if the app transferred to memory to run.

  • Why it is not possible to install apps on an SD card on a Win 8.1 tablet?

Why it is not possible to install apps on an SD card on a Win 8.1 tablet? If it is possible to install apps on SD card in Windows phone 8.1, why is it not possible on Windows 8.1? What sort of design philosophy you follow that gives better features on
a mobile version of the OS but not on the parent OS? Kindly explain if you can!

  • After firmware "upgrade" I can't move apps tp SD card on Ellipsis 8

The tablet doesn't have very much memory for apps so I put in a 64GB SD card and mioved a lot of apps there.  I recently "upgraded" the firmware/software to version 4.4.2, and now I can't move apps anymore. Not to SD card, SIM card, or anywhere. There isn't enough memory to install the apps I used to have working just fine.  How can I get apps to move to the SD card again?  Has Verizon taken a bad idea and made it worse?

  • Ext sd card - moving/installing apps to it

I have installed a sandisk 64gb micro sd card in my new( now 2 month old) galaxy s III. I would like to move already installed apps to the new sd card as well as install new apps there.
I have installed the apps2sd app and was told that my phone did not support the app.
    my phone...
    android version - 4.0.4
    kernal version - 3.0.8-743127
    build number - imm76d.i535vralg1
    hardware version - i535.10
I really thought the phone would support using the micro sd card for everything. Am I doing something wrong here or do I need to do something extra to get the phone to be able to move/install apps on the sd card?
Thanks for any help I can get!
    Richard

Here's what I know. You can not move or save apps to external SD card on the GS3 at the present time. In  talking with Verizon they are aware and think that Samsung may release some time of link on their website to let you move and save apps on SD card. I then called Sansung and they will not say anything. I asked if this will be resolved in the upcoming Jelly Bean upgrade.  Maybe.. I asked the Samsung rep why in Earth would Samsung make a phone with an external SD card that you cannot save or move apps. He put the blame on Google, who wrote the software. Tried to get in touch with Google but that is near impossible.  I'm aggravated because I went out and bought an external SD card that is useless for saving large games.  Also if I would have liked  a heads up before buying the phone. I would  have purchased a GS3 32 MB instead of the 16MB.  Oh well, this is what I know.  Hopefully if enough people complain, something will be done.

  • How many ipods, iphones can i install apps or movies?

I have an iphone (3g) and a ipod Touch. I have same apps and movies purchased from itunes on both the iphone and ipod.
I decided to give my ipod Touch to my girlfriend (since I don't use it as much). She wants to use it on her pc, so she will be buying her own movies and apps in the future.
My question is will MY movies and apps work fine on the ipod once she starts using it as her own on her pc?
I'd like to keep my apps and movies, my girlfriend wants keep my apps and movies as well!
I worried, the apps and movies can only be used on one iphone or ipod at a time.

    Speny wrote:
If that's the case, what can I do so that she can keep ALL my apps and movies?
She will be installing itunes when she gets the ipod, worried it will sync right as she connects erasing everything...
Basically, there is nothing you can do. When she installs iTunes and connects the iPod Touch, the content will be erased. This is how copyright protection is enforced.
If you're +"ok with purchasing the apps again"+, just give her a list of the apps you have, along with an iTunes Gift Card to cover the cost of purchasing the apps. She needs to purchase them after she sets up the iPod Touch in her iTunes.

    Hi
It seems that the feature Apps on SD card has been added to Android since Android Honeycomb v2.2
    _Source:_
    http://android-developers.blogspot.de/2010/07/apps-on-sd-card-details.html
+Android 2.2 supports application installation on external storage devices like the SD card. This should give users room for many more apps, and will also benefit certain categories, like games, that need huge assets.+
So it seems its limitation of ROM installed on AT100 :(
