Move JSP page from window XP to UNIX solaris, need change any setting?

Hi, i am JSP newbie and faced a problems on JSP compatibility. Any expect can give me the answer?
if I have a server OS is UNIX solaris, Can i develop JSP in Window, it will exist any problems when i move JSP to UNIX server? Is it possible?
because i not familiar with Solaris OS, Is it possible let in Development in "window" and running in "Unix". it will be convenient to me because I don't much knowledge about UNIX.
Any specialist has any experience?

You should make sure though that
- you will be using the same JSP/Servlet version in both places
- you are not using components or code that relies on native elements. Like using the JdbcOdbcBridge driver is something to avoid.
- you will have lots of time for testing.

I am using Oracle EBS 12.0.4 and using IE 7 as my browser.
Now when i am trying to open a jsp page form EBS Home page (after login) it is opening perfectly.The problem occurs when i tried to open jsp pages from inside form window.

the requirement is that whenever we click on the button created on the form, it opens a jsp page.

In portlet project, to navigate between pages, you should not use the URL property to link to a page. Instead, portlets use navigation via action handling. You use the Page Navigation editor to set up links to pages; that is, the navigation editor sets the action property.

did any one get a solution for this issue. calling a jsp in the startup of the servlet, i mean in the startup servlet. I do have a same req like i need to call a JSP which does some data reterival and calculations and i am putting the results in the cache. so in the jsp there in no output of HTML. when i use the URLConnection i am getting a error as below.

How to invoke a jsp page from java which does not use Servlets?

I am working in Documentum. I am trying to invoke a jsp page from another java page which does not use Servlets.
I tried doing this by just instantiating the java class related to the jsp page from my present java class.In my java class related to the jsp page, I have defined onInit() and onRender() methods.
Now, I am trying to call the jsp page from my present java class by just instantiating the java class related to the jsp page. This throws a java.lang.NullPointerException.
Any comments or suggestions on this.Any help would be appreciated.

1. Hope you have placed the custom jsp page (which you have downloaded from server) under "jdevhome\jdev\myhtml\OA_HTML" directory ?
2. Try to run the custom jsp page from Jdeveloper directly and check whether its working properly or not ?
(i.e. add jsp page to any project in Jdeveloper then right click on jsp page and select Run xxx.jsp)
3. If page errors out then custom jsp page seems require few parameters to run it successfully. Pass all requied parameters and test.
4. There is no problem in the way you are calling jsp page from OAF page.

Cannot move the pages from one document to another

Hi,
I cannot move the pages from one document to another, abobe gets crashed. I am not sure but I think this was happening when I try to copy or move the threaded content. How to resolve this, this is happening in both CS4 and CS5. Can anyone help me?

one more thing u can also rename ur database by using nid utility ,So u have no need to recreate the controlfile for changing the name of ur database.just restore all files from primary to new server ,create new service by oradim ,start the instance and then use NID utility.

I have this situation where the initial developement was done on a Windows box, but then the staging and production environments have been set up on unix servers.
Q1: Is it possible to migrate the mappings created on Dev (windows) effectively to unix without needing re-work?
Q2: What is the approach to go about this migration, if any?
Q3: Do the OWB versions matter while import/export?
Has anyone been through this problem before?

You can specify the file location details .
In order to Import OWB metadata from mdl file

It will ask for the mdl file location details

Our Java guys developed one JSP page for Login page.
After Log in instead of standard responsibilites page we calling custom jsp page, For getting DB connection they defined one properties file and hard coded DB details on that file and calling, but client is not accepting hard coding.

Also, Is there an error, message, etc, when you try to print? Typically, ePrint is used when printing eMails or forwarding documents / pictures to the printers eMail address, is this how you are trying to print the web page? Since this is a Windows 8 Operating System, you may be able to install full feature software and print that way. now, while displaying the form generate some random number, or take the current time in millis or whatever. Put that number in a hidden field. Insert that unique number along with the real data into the database, but before you do check if the number already exists. If it does you can be pretty sure this is a resubmit of the same data, so don't allow it. This is one way of many to prevent resubmission of existing data.
A good way to prevent a refresh from resubmitting altogether is to do a redirect to a result page right after you deal with the POST request. When the user presses refresh then, he/she will refresh the redirect and not the form submit.

For example
- if the Role is Admin then backing bean should display Admin.jsp
- if the Role is Guest then backing bean should display Guest.jsp

I wanna make it more Dynamic. In the sense
"Backing Beans should drive the rendering of first jsp page in the application " and not jsp page driving the backing bean or not to put some kind of hard coding in jsp page to see if its admin user then display certain set of UI Components or certain set of other UI components for other users.
As we have atleast 10 different Roles and there can be Composite Roles i.e. combination of two roles. In this case how does the Backing Bean drives the rendering of jsp page?
