Move libraray from deleted User to New user Windows 7

I needed to create a New User in Windows 7 and will need to delete the old. I have my Library backed up on an External HD. Because there will be a different "User" name in the new User what is the best way to get my Library into the New User Acct.

Hi,
Use the function module FAVOS_EVENT_ADD_TO_USER_SHELF to transfer favourites from one user to another. Execute the function module with the following parameters. Do this in dev and then in prosuction.
User_name = Your target user name
Target_ID = 00000
Reporttype = TR
report_name= rrmx
SAP_GUID = the workbook ID
and then executed the function module.
Regards,
Raghavendra.

    It is unclear whether you’re asking about permission to put LR on a new computer, or more about the details of the process of moving things from one computer to the other.
    As far as licensing and program installation, you are allowed as a single user to use LR on two different computers as long as you’re not using the two computers at the same time, so you can just download and install the latest update for whatever version you are using on your old computer to the new computer and input your serial number, again.   If you are transferring LR5 then there is no update, just install from the original media or download the Try version to the new computer and input the serial number.
    You can also move your catalog database file and images over to a new computer, but the exact details of that depend on where the images and catalog are on the old computer compared to where you want them on your new computer.   Generally if you put them in the same relative locations then about all you’ll need to do is hook up the top-level folders with Locate Missing Folder command available from the right-click menu on each top-level folder   The process will be easier if you actually move all your folders under as few of top-level folders as possible from within LR on the old computer before moving things to the new computer.
    If you’ve created custom presets and/or installed LR plug-ins those will need to be moved or re-installed on the new so take stock of where all these are before you start the move.

    How do I move pictures from old iphone to new iphone

    If you want to transfer your camera roll photos, along with text messages and other data and settings from your old phone to your new one, back up the old phone then restore the backup to your new one (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2109).  If you only want to transfer the photos, import them from your old phone to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, then put them in a folder and sync them to your new phone by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  (Be aware that photos synced to your phone using iTunes can only be deleted later by syncing them off again.  They can't be deleted directly on the phone.)

  • Using Migration Assistant to Move Data Files from one Account to New User

    Is it possible or recommended to use Migration Assistant to move data files from an old user account to a new user account on the same volume/hard disk?

    Migration Assitant cannot be used as a simple file transfer utility. MA can transfer an entire Home folder or entire Users folder but not individual files.
    In general files in one user account cannot be moved to another user account as this would violate built-in security measures.
    What you can do is to copy the files to an external device like a hard drive or flash drive. First log in to the old account. Then configure the drive to ignore preferences by Pressing COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and check the Ignore permissions on this volume checkbox at the bottom of the window. Copy your files to the device. Log into the new account. Verify the external drive is still configured to ignore permissions (reset it, if not.) Copy the files from the external device into the Home folder of the new account. I would create a temporary folder for these files. If you still end up without the proper permissions you will need to make modifications that are easier done if all the files are in a single folder.

  • Copying files from admin acct to new user acct

    hello, i read in the new macworld that i should try to avoid using the admin acct as a daily user. so i'm taking there advice. the problem i have is when i create another user, its settings are reverted back to when you first installed os x. i don't want this. i tried copying my users folder from my admin acct but whn i switch over to my new user acct the settings are still set to default.
    at first i put them in the shared folder with my admin acct and when i switched over to the new user that folder didn't give me access. what am i doing wrong?
    thx

    There is a far easier way to do this without having to move files between user accounts:
    1) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts and make a new admin account
    2) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts -> your original account, and un-check "Allow user to administer this computer"
    All done!

  • Migrating my stickies from old user to new user

    There was something wrong with the library folder in my user when I migrated from Tiger to Snow Leopard, so I went to the genius bar to fix the issue. They couldn't find what was causing the problem, so they created a new user. They migrated my email and safari book marks, but I forgot to ask them to migrate my stickies. I keep a folder containing my old user library. What do I have to do to migrate stickies from the old user library to the new user library?
    My emails were migrated, but the automatic email address that pops up in the address window when I start typing an email address doesn't work until I enter the full address (as if it was for the first time). How can I migrate this?

    The file is not created when you set up a new user account.
    When you first start the Stickies app on Snow Leoaprd, it makes that file in <home folder>/Library.
    Since you migrated from Tiger, something may have gone wrong. The Tiger version may have put them in the Preferences folder. I doubt it, but I don't know.
    See what version of the app you have; mine is 7.0. If you find something else, see where it is. The Migration won't transfer an app if one already exists, but only if they have exactly the same name, in exactly the same place.

    Whenever a new user is added on exchange I need to make an API call.
    These users are to be also added on a custom application server which can accept a simple REST call

    Hello,
    You can consider EWS:

  • SBS2008: Move email from Exchange 2007 to new server with Exchange 2013

    We have an old server (SBS2008) and plan to buy a new server with (Server 2012). I need to move all the exchange emails, contacts & calendars to the new server. We will no longer use the old server.
    Is there a document or migration tool that will help me understand how to move this data form the old exchange server to the new one?
    Old Server:
    SBS2008 running Exchange 2007
    New Server:
    Server 2012
    Exchange 2013
    Any help is appreciated!

    Hi Dave,
    It can be done, and as Larry suggested you will consider two Server 2012 installs in order to achieve an environment that looks like your current SBS roles; Exchange 2013 on an Active Directory controller isn't a good long-term solution (SBS did this for
    you in the past).
    For your size operation, a virtual server host, with a Windows Server 2012 license, and two virtual machines would probably be a suitable design model.  In this manner, you have Server 2012 license that permits 1 +2 licenses (one host for virtualization,
    up to 2 Virtual Machines on same host).
    There's no migration tool. That comes with experience and usually trial and error. You earn the skills in this migration path, and for the average SBS support person you should plan on spending 3x (or more) your efforts estimate in hours planning your migration.
    You can find a recommended migration path at this link to give you an idea of the steps, but its not exactly point by point going to cover you off for an sbs2008 to server 2012 w/exchange 2013 migration.  But the high points are in here. If it looks
    like something you would be comfortable with then you should research more.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/infratalks/archive/2012/09/07/transition-from-small-business-server-to-standard-windows-server.aspx
    Specific around integrating Exchange 2013 into an Exchange 2007 environment, guidance for that can be found here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj898582(v=exchg.150).aspx
    If that looks like something beyond your comfort level, then you might consider building a new 2012 server with Exchange 2013 environment out as new, manually export your exchange 2007 mailbox contents (to PST) and then import them into the new mail server,
    and migrate your workstations out of old domain into new domain.  Whether this is more or less work at your workstation count is dependent upon a lot of variables.
    If you have more questions about the process, update the thread and we'll try to assist.
    Hopefully this info answered your original question.

  • Change of user name = new user?

    i 'accidently' changed my username on the left-side of the finder box. but afther restarting, i think it made a new user: i lost all of my settings, my language preferences, my mail-accounts, etc...
    i managed somehow to reset it, but i think i have a lot of double folders now and in a different language (e.g.: the 'library' folder appears under 'macintosh hd', under my username and once under the system folder...
    is it normal? should/could i merge it?

    Hi,
    but i think i have a lot of double folders now and in a different language (e.g.: the 'library' folder appears under 'macintosh hd', under my username and once under the system folder... is it normal?
    I'm not sure what you mean by it being in a different language, but yes it is normal for there to be Library folder in those 3 different locations, so do not merge them.
    /System/Library/ - is used by the operating system
    /Library/ - is for items that apply to all user accounts on your system
    /Users/YourUsername/Library/ - applies just to your account

  • Can I transfer CC for Teams membership (Photoshop) to a new user on the same machine without uninstalling and reinstalling software? i.e. one user left new user started needing the same software.

    We have Creative Cloud for Teams, most users using Photoshop.  One user left the company and has been replaced by another user.  I removed the first user's membership and assigend it to the new user.  When she runs Photoshop, she gets a 00 Days left message.  Photoshop still seems to be useable right now but I'm wondering if I need to uninstall Photoshop and re-install it using her credentials?  Seems like a lto of unnecessary work to me.

    Hi Batterry,
    There is no need for removal of the product . You can simply launch the product , click on Help>Sign out . Close the product and sign in with the new user's Adobe ID & Password. This should activate the product .
