Hi,
You can block all goods movements relating to a stock management unit for the purposes of a physical inventory.
The system blocks all the stock management units of the relevant PI document by means of the posting block indicator in the PI document header. In the storage location view of the material master record, the physical inventory block indicator shows the value X (material blocked for movements due to physical inventory).
For that you have to change mode of a physical inventory document, set the posting block indicator.

Hii,
In third party sale, when e do MIGO what is the movement type we should take. (in case of individual purchase order scenario we take Mov type as 101, where actually we are taking goods into our stock and then delivering it to our customer) but in Third party vendor directly supplies to customer. But he sends an acknowledgement to the company and we do MIGO & MIRO and then directly raise an invoice with ref to order but quantity as per delivery ( billing rev -F). So my doubt is wat movement type we should be taking for thirdparty sale when we do MIGO. (this is only for reference, actually there is inward movement of goods into our stock as the vendor supplies it directly to customer).

QM _Inspection Lot Creation with Move ment type-542

Dear All,
The Business Scenario is when ever goods received from Sub contracting vendor with out any processing by 542 movement type the system should create the Inspection lot automatically.
How can achive this function?

You have to add new entry for movement type 542..
complete help is available there..
Also you have to activate the related inspection type in QM view in material master.
You can try this in development server. (I am also not an expert in this area).

Dear Ravi,
These movements are related to Stock Transfers through SD route. When you do PGI ( Post Goods Issue), in the back ground these movement types trigger based on one step & two step.
One step is: the stock is removed from issued planr & get updated in in receiving plant as soon as you do the PGI.
Two Step: The stock is removed from issue plant sfter PGI and it will show in reports as "Stock in Transit" . Then when the material is received at receiving plant then that stock has to be taken with 101 mvt. Then only that stock stock get updated in receivng plant.
Two-step procedure to to track stock when it in transport.

If we receive the material through 501 Which accounting document will hit. Also pl. give process for trading material ( hawa). which accounting will hit for HAWA material type.

It entirely depends on whether the material type is maintained as value update in OMS2
If the material type has a value update then follwoing accounting entries are passed during 501
Stock acc Dr
Clearing account Cr
The material will be valuated at Price maintained in Material master
If the material type doesnot have a value update then accounting documnets will not be generated.

Hi Ravi
102 is used to reverse the results of mvt type 101 i.e. you are taking material out of your inventory which results in decrease in value and qty of material in your stock.
where as while using 162 you are taking material back into your inventory from vendor i.e. material value and qty increases using this mvt type.

(c) What specific requirements do you have for this H.264.mov export file?
File size can be a compromise between bitrate, file size, and quality.

if that character variable contains onli numbers then it is possible.

If it contains even a single Alphabet , then it goes for a dump.

Next Inspection Date in case of Mov. Type: 309

Hi,
During Transfer posting using Mov. Type: 309, (Inspection Type: 08) the Next Inspection Date is coming as per our logic of UD Date + 365 (Inspection Interval maintained in Material Mst.).
But our requirement if that, the Next Inspection Date in case of transferred material must be same as from which transfer has been done.
e.g. suppose material ABC is received with GR (Mov. Type:101) and its Its Next Inspection date is coming as 01/01/2012 (as its UD was done on 01/01/2011 + 365 (Inspection Interval maintained in Mtrl Mst).
When we transfer this material to XYZ (with Mov. Type:309), its Next Inspection Date is required that of ABC (01/01/2012). But, as per present logic it is coming UD Date + 365 Days = 23/01/2012 (i.e. if UD is performed on 23/01/2011).
How can I do that ?

My guess is your batch level is at the plant level. If the batch level is changed to material level or client level, this problem would go away. This can have major impacts in other areas so it must be carefully considered. But if this your requirement, it sounds like you might be at the wrong batch level right now.

Scripting Movie Poster Type

Hello Adobe Community,
I wrote a script that "converts" all streaming videos to embedded videos; however, after I set each video's filePath, it loses its poster. I have a line of code that is supposed to set the moviePosterType to the first frame of the movie:

Here is the bulk of the code and all of it appears to work, barring setting the movie poster type.

For debugging purposes, after each attempt to set the movie poster type, an alert() says the poster type is "NONE," unless I manually set the poster, then it will say "FROM_MOVIE." My goal is to automatically set the movie poster type, otherwise someone would need to click on every video to set it. Thanks in advance for any insight or ideas!

I was thinking a possible solution would be to automate/script the process a user would normally complete through the menu system. To set a poster to "From Current Frame," a user would open the Media panel, click on the "Poster:" drop-down, and select "From Current Frame."
After looking through the available Menu Names and Menu Actions, the only handles I see available are "Media," "Video from URL...," and "PDF Options...." Does anyone know if I can access the Media > Poster > From Current Frame option through scripting?

HT1363 what movie file types will work on a iPod classic 80GB?

I am trying to download movies onto my ipod, they are in the library but I get an error saying wrong file type. Do they have to have an extention and if so, what is the acceptable flie?

Are these downloads from the iTunes Store? If so, it sounds like you are trying to sync the HD version of the video. You should try to download the Standard Definition copy instead and sync that to your device as HD content is not compatible with the Nano. See here for more information:

To prevent HD versions from being downloaded in the future head to the iTunes Store, click the Purchased link, and then select Movies/TV Shows and remove the tick mark next to Download HD when available. You should be able to download the SD version now from under this same page.

What movie-video type files for a windows PC

I have some movies (4.m4v type files) and videos (flv files) that I wish to send to a windows PC user.
Will they be able to view them with their normal windows software, or will I have to convert them
to other type files - if so... what type ?

I recommend Gom Player. It can handle a wide variety of file formats including the ones you have stated. It is free and can be downloaded from http://www.gomlab.com. It can also play incomplete files and thus, very useful for unfinished downloads.

Quicktime, Movie File Types & CandyBar

I have just three questions:
1) With the new upgrade to OS X Mavericks, it seems as though Quicktime is extra picky about converting certain file types when I open them, particulary avi's......which used to open with no problem in earlier versions of OS X. Is this a quirk that I'm going to have to deal with for now, or is there a codec I can install to rectify this?
2) When listing different file types in Finder in OS X Mavericks, Windows Media Files (.wmv) are being listed as documents, and not movies (see below) This wasn't the case in OS X Mountain Lion. Is this another quirk or is there something I can do to have the .wmv files listed correctly?
3) Any word on when CandyBar will be updated for OS X Mavericks? If not, is there another way to change the look of the default folder icon? I already know how to change the icons for specific folders, but CandyBar helped me change the look of the default folder icon, thereby changing the look of ALL folders on my Mac.

when i click get info it says the kind/type is a quicktime movie file.....i was jus mainly wondering why some podcast videos have quicktime video file, while others have the mpeg-4 video file...its almost like and OCD (obssesive complusive disorder) thng for me.....but as long as they can still transfer to the ipod i should be fine....

Camera moves jerk type breaks up

I am using DVD Studio Pro (4.2.0) for the first time. I output a QT file from a Final Cut project, and imported it as an asset in DVD Studio Pro. In DVD Studio Pro Preferences, Encoding Pane, I set mode at Two Pass VBR, as I understood this would yield best quality. I left the Bit Rate as I found it, 4.0 Mbps and Max Bit Rate at 7.0 Mbps. When I burned the DVD and tried playing it I noticed two quality issues:
1) Some camera moves have jerking quality
2) White titles against black ground break up slightly in areas
When I had previously used iDVD to create a DVD using the same content, neither of these problems existed.
How can I improve the quality using the professional software DVD Studio Pro, so that it matches the consumer software, iDVD???
If this involves changing the details of encoding on the assets already in the DVD project, can you advise as to what the specs should be for encoding?
The content is only 35 minutes long. At the current settings I have used only 1.5 GB of the DVD disc space.
And if I AM to change the encoding specs, can this be done after the assets were imported, or do I have to delete the assest and re-import to re-encode? Thank you so much in advance.

What type of timeline are you using in FInal Cut? (Is it DV etc.)
One way is to set the timeline to Uncompressed when using Text and export as a self contained movie OR send straight to Compressor (with the new Studio it looks improved to me anyway) this will help with quality.

IPhone movie file types

What file types are playable by iPhone? I've tried MP4, AVI and MOV and none are able to be copied over.

With the new QuickTime, you can Export to iPhone! There are expert settings you can use that will make it look a little better, but this is fast and easy, and it works. The files are pretty small too.
