[Move Metrics/RULES/ROLES from old EMGC to a New EMGC infrastructure]

Hello all,
After installing and started succesfuly a new Grid control infrastructure (and upgraded to 10.2.0.4) I would like to move our METRICS/ROLES/RULES from the old GC infrastructure to the new one.
Question:
- Is there any way or method to do those moves like Export/Import ?
- Is somewhere any documentation that handles this ?
- If yes to any of the above question, what are the requirement to be meet before doing that ?
Any help or advice would be very appreciated.

As long as you have not reloaded much (or any) new information to the iPod (or the PCs), the following links will direct you to software that has a chance of recovering some or all of your music files. Most are not shareware or freeware, so you may have to spend a little money.....

Make sure you read through many of the posts on the iLounge – some folks had good results, others had poor results. There seems to be a split camp on the effectiveness of recovery programs.

Move iLife 06 apps from old Hard drive to new hard drive

I have an original Mac G4 450mhz Desktop running 10.3.9. The original 25gb drive kept leading to the message system disk is almost full, so I installed a new 75gb hard drive as well as a newer technology 1.8ghz processor. I reinstalled my system on the new 75gb drive and am installing only the apps I want on the new drive. 10 years of use have really left a lot of clutter on the old drive, so I figured this would give me a clean start. The only problem is I can't find my iLife 06 install disks. I simply copied the applications from one drive to the other, iTunes works fine, iPhoto allows me to view, rate and tag photos but if I try to edit I'm told that I'm missing system software, reinstall the program. iMovie won't even open because I'm missing the newest quartz framework component which is located on the install disk, reinstall the program.
I can still use the old drive as my startup disk and everything works fine except for the same start up disk full message. Is there a way I can find and move the missing files from one drive to the other. iLife 06 is gone now that 08 is out and I imagine finding a Tiger upgrade will be difficult now that leopard is out, to upgrade to 08 and then go back to iMove 06. Any suggestions?

I would try ebay for a copy of the install disks.
The iLife apps make calls all over the system for files and libraries.

Move Time Machine files from old TimeCapsule drive to new TimeCapsule

My old 1TB Time Capsule died from bad power supply. I replaced it with a new 3TB Time Capsule and started backing up.
I removed the hard drive from the broken 1TB Time Capsule and put it in a new hard drive enclosure. Now, I'd like to add the old Time Machine backups to the new Time Capsule, and use the old drive as an external hard drive.
How do I make that transfer and merge the new and old backups into the new Time Capsule?

You cannot merge backups.. you should have copied the backups and then continued using them.. and of course you can still do that. But you have to do it from scratch.
IMHO you are better retaining the old backups as an archive.. say for 6months.. beyond that you are unlikely to need them.

When using Migration Assistant to move files from old PC laptop to new MacBook Pro, that has Windows 8 installed containing Outlook, will emails, contacts and calendar entries be moved to Outlook on the new MacBook or into Mail, Contacts and Calendar?

I doubt they will. But then I'm not sure as I used a migration program once about 18 years ago and totally FUBARed the system I had at that time and I've never used one again.
For me the reason to have a new system is to start fresh. Installing only program that I now use and manually copying data over from the older system.
Not sure your older version of Outlook, and the outlook mail boxes, are compatible with Office/Outlook for Mac 2011.
A better place to ask this question would be on the MS Office for Mac forums.

I am trying to move my music library from my ipod to my new laptop... i have followed instructions from website, but when i was supposed to have all my songs in my itunes on the new laptop, they were not there, they are in a folder called "music".
wheni open my itunes now, i have only the songs i purchased from the store and a few more i had dowloaded from my cd's. Most of the songs have an ! in front of them, and i can't play them.
on my ipod i have only a few songs....
my old laptop was windows xp and the new one windows 7, my ipod is 1st generation nano
what can i do???

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. What's the best way to transfer files from old Macbook Pro to new one? I know Migration assistant, but is there a recommended way? I don't want to put do a system restore or transfer everything from the old laptop, but I do want to move important things like photos, music, documents and such over. Any suggestions on best way to do this?
Another question, perhaps subquestion. If I have, say, an older version of iPhoto but a newer version of one on my new Macbook Pro, will it still transfer photos no problem?
Just looking for hints from the experts so this puppy is set up in the best way possible.

the problems are ALWAYS in the reverse way, when you have the newest (or a newer) version of a given app, and wish to transfer its library to an older version.

I have been using Martin Jahn’s iBackup, with which I have become accustomed and works fine. It also makes daily backups. Its advantage over other apps is that you may add whatever you wish to save, beside its default settings (which you may delete or cancel, of course, even if not recommended); it also has a friendly interface and easily customizable. Of course, this is a personal view, you may try other methods as well, or other backup apps. All are good if you are satisfied and correspond to your needs.

These are two possible approaches that should work to move the existing library to the new laptop.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase are reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your library or a backup of it then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

If the photos have been synced to the iPhone and iPad using iTunes, you cannot sync them back.

Could you please specify how exactly did you transfer Acrobat from one MAC to other.
You might need to deactivate the software from your old machine and then activate it on the new one with the same serial number (for Acrobat license) or Adobe credentials (for Acrobat subscription).
If you have done the same way, then let me know if you are able to open Acrobat itself.
Do you get any specific error message while opening a PDF?

Why can't I transfer my itunes kibrary from old computer to my new one?

I am trying to get my old library onto my new computer and the best way for me to do that is take them off of my I Phone 3gs and "transfer purchases" but when I try it the "authorize this computer " shows up and it is already authorized! So I still give my info, and it tells me this computer is already authorized and then does nothing. It keeps going on like that, it's a frustrating circle!
