Move one album from ipod to itunes

Ok, I'm sure I'm missing something easy here. Tried Help, searched forums, etc. I'm stuck.
I have two PCs with iTunes 8. Not thinking this through, I downloaded an album from Amazon (had a free coupon) to the PC that I don't usually use. I then manually moved that one album to my ipod nano (4th gen).
I want to move that one album to iTunes on the other computer - the one I usually use that has the updated library. I'm pretty sure this Amazon download isn't recognized as "purchased" or I'd try the download purchase function.
Gotta be something easy I'm missing. Thanks for any help.

There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. Hi, I have a new computer without any music. I want to save the music I have in my ipod in the computer so I can hear it with itunes but no way. I can't move any file. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

I've recently bought a new computer and ipod, no problems moving my itunes across, but the playlists (some of which took hours to create and maintain) are only on my old ipod.
Anyone know a way to move a playlist from ipod to itunes, sorry if I'm being stupid but I can't figure it out!

Insert the drive into the USB port. Open the iTunes playlist, and use CTRL+A (or Edit > Select All) to highlight all the tracks. Drag the tracks over to the drive.

I managed to sync all of my music files from my ITUNES on my new IMAC Apple computer and I also managed to sync one album to my IPOD NANO from my old G4 Tower Apple computer's ITUNES. Now I would like to copy that one album from my IPOD NANO to my current ITUNES on my new IMAC Apple computer. Do I sync in the manual mode option?

You can't use iTunes to transfer music from iPod to computer unless that music was purchased from the iTunes store.

For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Try iPodDisk. This is a program designed to transfer music from iPod to computer.
Similar programs are Expod, Yamipod, Senuti and Music Rescue.

How to import songs AND all the data from iPod to iTunes?

Hi,
I am looking for a tool that can import more than just the music from iPod to iTunes. I have tried several apps to no avail. (many mentioned in another post here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1576568&tstart=15 )
I "upgraded to iTunes 9", but then my library disappeared the other night. All my music and video files are there intact, but the iTune Library.itl was wiped.
It gets even worse. Not knowing iTunes had lost my iTunes Library.itl content, I accidentally deleted all of the old library files (stored under "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder) and then de-fragmented my computer. So now the ".itl" file cannot be recovered in anyways as every data block on the HDD is overwritten.
Adding the music folders back into iTunes does NOT transfer all the metadata (play count, last played, rating, genre, last skipped, times skipped, track number, comments, artwork, lyrics, etc.). This information is VERY important if you have over 5k songs like I do.
Alas, there is another way to recover my library file. All this metadata information (as well as the music and video files) are available on my classic iPod with its massive hard drive.
The challenge is finding a tool that would transfer the metadata as well. And so far after trying 6 different titles none transfers all the metadata. They all change the "Date Added" field with today's date. The ideal tool needs to keep that field same as it is on the iPod.

Aniosoft iBackup Pro seems to be very user-friendly, but it's costly though, $40. http://www.aniosoft.com
They have a free trial version where you can backup 6 songs from each playlist, so try it out if you think it's worth it.

I have purchased a new Toshiba laptop and installed Itunes. I have all my music on my Iphone 4. Can I directly move my music from Iphone to Itunes library on new laptop. The music was mainly imported from my CD collection - It was imported to Itunes on my old PC and then synched to Iphone from old PC. Unfortunately old PC has died without a back-up. You need to copy your iTunes from your Old computer or its Backup to your New computer...

Copying Play Count from iPod to iTunes?

Hello, is it possible to copy the play count of songs from iPod to iTunes? I do not have my iPod syncing with iTunes (and do not want to have that feature enabled). Also, I do not merely want the play count to be overwritten, but added onto.

Thanks for replying. I do not use autosync because the songs on my iPod do not come from a single computer, but the four computers I personally have and two other ones (my girlfriend's and another friend's). Also, I have a Nano and my song collection is way more than my Nano can hold. Just the music I have purchased off iTunes won't fit onto my Nano.
If anyone knows of an alternative way, please let me know. Is there anyway I can turn autosync on for the play count update and not have it do anything else? Thanks.

You can do one of two things:
1) Create a dummy contact in the Mac Address Book (make one up), then sync the iPhone - you'll be prompted to merge or replace - choose Merge.
2) Export the contacts from Outlook or WAB and import them into Address Book. If you're using Outlook, select all the contacts in Outlook, then right-click one of them and select Forward Items. You'll then get an email with all your contacts as individual .vcf files. You can email that to yourself, or just copy all those files to a flash drive.

For the future, keep in mind that an iPod is not a backup/storage device. It is designed to be strictly a playback device. It is up to you to backup your personal data, including music, to a local, external HDD.
