Move page asking for iDisk password

Hi everyone,
I added a movie page to my iWeb website (hosted on .Mac with a personal domain). When browsing to the movie page, the browser asks for my iDisk password. I then turned off password protection in my .Mac System Preferences, but that doesn't seem to have made any difference.
Any ideas?
Cheers!

Yes I do. Removing the password solves the problem. However, I would like to keep a password on the site, but not enter a password for the movies on the movie page, especially when the requested password is my iDisk password, not the site password!
Cheers!

How do I move files from my iMac to my Airport without getting 'AirPort can not be modified' message. File sharing is enabled and I'm not getting asked for a password. Thanks

What OS are you running.. this is usually only a problem in Mavericks.
If so I recommend you mount the hard disk manually..
    Use Go, Connect to server.
Type in the IP address if static.. eg
    AFP://10.0.1.1
Or the name.. but you will have issues unless the name is short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. if you are using bad names.. fix it by a full factory reset in airport utility and give it all names that comply to the above.
    Type in
AFP://TCname.local Where TCname is replaced with the actual name.
You will be asked for the password the first time which is public unless you changed it.. please remember to save this in the keychain.
Copy files then to a new directory you create on the TC.. do not place files inside the TM sparsebundle. Nor directly under the main directory.

  • TS3297 Redeem Code page keeps asking for iTunes password

Windows 8. I've bought one movie, but on the second try, the Code redemption keeps asking for my password.
    Thanks for your advice.

    Me too.
It is asking me for my iTunes password too often.
I would be okay with it _if it was just for when I hit UPDATE for an application, or buy a new one_... but it seems like it's constantly asking for my iTunes password.
+I'm not worried about somebody ringing up a bill, If my phone is lost, I can just call Apple and have them remote wipe the phone and adjust my account.+

My software applications were unexpectedly quitting ( I Tunes, page, skype) so I downloaded Lion OS 7. It took 48 hours to download and 18 hours to install (and counting) so i turned it off and on several times. All i get now is a screen with the Apple Icon asking for my password with option to switch off or restart. tried both but it just brings me back to the same screen
    what do i do?
    thanks

When you decided to upgrade because you were having serious problems, you jumped from the frying pan into the fire. If the problem was the system, then reinstalling the current system is the way to go. But you had several application quiting, some from Apple and some not. so the quitting was something affecting all of them, and of course the system could be the culprit, but the system is not the only possible culprit. Replacing the system when it was not the problem only buries the problem under a whole new pile of problems.
Before reinstalling a system you need to make your Mac as trouble free as possible and back up as much as you can. There is a wide variety of problems that can affect many applications. Here is a short list:
Font problems. Use Font Book to verify your fonts. Delete or disable bad fonts.
    Disk, permission, or cache corruption.
Incompatible Startup Items, Login Items, interface modifications or menu extras.
Corrupted preferences other than those of the affected applications. Check preferences system-wide using the freeware applications Preferential Treatment or AppleJack
Insufficient RAM or lack of free disk space.
Programming errors. Bugs in application code are not uncommon. For third-party applications, check the vendor's Web site for updates to the application, reports of known bugs, or for information on how to contact the vendor for support. A bad program might be grabbing up too much RAM and causing the other applications to fail as well.
Corrupted application. Check the logs to see where the crash occurred.
    Other software problems or conflicts.
Corrupted Mac OS X installation. Perform an Archive and Install of your current Mac OS X.
Hardware problems. Run the Apple Hardware Test that came with your Mac.
    Try to discover the culprit:
Open Console, located in the Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities folder.
Check the Console and System logs for messages that may be related to the problem.
To open these logs, in Console choose File > Open, then choose:
Open Console Log and Open System Log
Messages in these logs are time stamped when the message was logged.
Scroll the log windows to the approximate time when the problem occurred.
Details of the messages may provide additional clues you use in troubleshooting.
Do not post an entire log to a forum. Post only the messages referring to the function or application causing a problem.
AppleJack is a free program you run in 'Single User Mode.' Install it. When you want to run it, press Command s until you get a black screen with text. Type 'applejack' and run the repairs.

That would be the password for your FTP server. You can only get this from your web hosting company. You should contact your web hosting company and ask them for your FTP Publishing details.
Then select your web site name at the top of the list of web pages in iWeb. You'll see input fieldd for your FTP details. Enter what you get from your web hosting provider in those fields.

  • EVERY TIME I MOVE SOMETHING TO THE TRASH IT IS ASKING FOR MY PASSWORD? CAN ANYONE HELP?

EVERY TIME I MOVE SOMETHING TO THE TRASH IT IS ASKING FOR MY PASSWORD? CAN ANYONE HELP?

    Check this Link out.
When I updated to Mountain Lion my iMac messed up file permissions and always when I booted or started up my iMac it went to terminal screen because start-up disk was read-only. You might have to change file permissions to what it was so your mac won't always ask your permission to do something (assuming you are admin of your mac).
PRAM reset might help too. Instructions can be found from the discussion that I linked (there's another link for PRAM [parameter random access memory] reset).
    Good luck!

trying to rent or purchase a movie. System  keeps asking for my password (which I check everytime to be correct) but you keep asking for it.  Sometimes it happens and some times not.

Please note that you are addressing a user forum and not apple themselves.
Honestly, from experience however, if it asks you for the password again, the previous one was likely incorrect. Maybe a typo...

  • TS2580 When I go to update my web page I am asked for a Password, which I have forgotten how can I reset this.

Since the cahnge over from Mobile Me to Icloud I am asked for a Password which I do not know how can I reset this. Amelia

Without or without a password, you CANNOT publish to iCloud.
MobileMe went offline in June last year. You received reminders in the mail.
You have to find another webhost.
Browse this forum, since it has been discussed several times a day every day for the past two years since it was announced.
Or wait for these answers to be delivered.
Anyway, your password is in the keychain.app .
And it is probably the same one you used to login here to post your message.

  • Trying to get into the app store and it asks for my password. The problem is that it is showing an Apple ID I don't use ghosted in. I can't figure out how to use my correct ID.

Trying to get into the App Store to update some apss. It asks for my password but the problem is that it is showing ghosted an Apple ID I don't use. Can't figure out how to fix it.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.

  • We are at a loss when it is asking for a password, we have tried a number of them to no avail.

We are at a loss when it is asking for a password, we have tired a number of them would it behoove us to reset?

From iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad.

  • How do I clear something running on Firefox which is compromising security by asking for all passwords on bank sites etc.

I believe I've got some kind of spy ware or malware running in Firefox
If I log into my Sainsburys Bank site and enter my user name and password I should be directed to a new page asking for one of 4 possible passwords before I can access my account. However after a slow connection I am asked to give ALL 4 of the passwords so something is not right as confirmed by Sainsburys.
Last night I un installed Firefox then re installed and it worked okay but this morning the same problem has occured.
Can you please advise a solution .
    Yours EJH

Do you have a secure connection to your bank site?<br />
If that is the case then check the certificates to make sure that you are connected to your bank site.<br />
If you do not have a secure connection with your bank site then try to change the protocol from http: to https: in the location bar while visiting the home page of your bank and verify again by clicking the website favicon.
    See [[Site Identity Button]]
If it is a phishing attempt then you should contact your bank site and inform them about that.
Do a malware check with some malware scan programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.<br />

  • Why does iTunes keep asking for my password when I want to listen to my music on my iPhone?

When I want to listen to music on my iPhone, iTunes keeps asking for my password.  I am not purchasing anything.  It started today.  Why is that?

I've been having the same problem on my iPad and iPhone. I talked to Apple customer service this morning. They had me do the following on both devices in the Settings:
    * Sign out of iTunes & App Store
    * Sign out of FaceTime
    * Sign out of Game Center
    * Delete iCloud account
They also had me restore my iPad due to some glitchy behavior in the Music app.
Things seemed to me fixed for a few hours until I went into the iTunes Store app on my iPad and added a movie to my Wish List. When I went back to the Music app, the dreaded "Sign In to iTunes Store" popup started showing up again on both devices. Suspicious!
So, I cleared out my Wish List in both the iTunes Store and App Store. I've been poking at the Music app on both my iPhone and iPad since then I haven't seen that popup once since then. I'm not going to declare victory yet since it's only been an hour or two, but I thought that this was worth mentioning.
