Move Photos between pages in book

Making my first photobook in iphotos.
Created book from an album and has autofilled.
I understand that I can move photos within a page but how can I exchange a photo from one page for a photo in another page?
Thanks for any help.
Arthur

You cannot directly switch photos between pages.
Just drag the photo you want to add to a page from the "Photos" tab (All Photos) onto the photo that you want to remove. Do the same for the photo on the second page.

I want to move photos between folders in dropbox.  On my PC I could download the photo folders, open two photo screens and drag and drop pictures between them.  How do I do that in Yosemite?

S/He seems to want to open two finder windows. These photo folders referred to seem to be on  dropbox.
I hope so, but was a bit concerned, that the question might relates to the way, that Dropbox is importing iPhoto Libraries or backing up iPhoto Libraries. I wanted to be sure, that the iPhoto Library is not actually sitting in Dropbox,, or referenced originals.

  • Spacing of photos on pages in Book

    Hi,
I am trying to set out a portfolio in a book. It seems that if one tries to put 2 photos on a page, the programme 2-photo template(s) crams them up together with no space between them. This ruins the visual effect of both photos. I can't find any way to separate the photos by 5-10 pixels, and I must presume that it is not possible at present. Is this correct?
If it is then Apple should introduce a spacing option in all book templates where multiple photos perpage exist.
If there is a way I would appreciate someon letting me know. Thanks

    Brian:
If you're referring to the Folio theme, yes the pictures are positioned together with no way to separate them on the page. The layouts are not editable by the user.
If you're using Photoshop you probably could create an 8.5 x 11 canvas layout and put your pictures and text the way you want and use it on the one photo per page layout.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Unable to move photos between albums in search mode

I am unable to move picture between albums when I have done a search for a title etc. eg. search for 'Leeds' brings up 20 pics one album and 15 in another, but the two albums are several years apart (possibly 100's of rolls!).
Why am I unable to then drag the pics from one roll to another? Is this a known issue? Very annoying when dealing with various project over various years and the only way is to drag the pics all the way down, often getting lost!!
    Any advice?
    Thanks

You may be able to do it as follows:
1 - assign a unique keyword to each of those files. Something like "AAAAAAAA" will stand out when you're looking for it.
2 -set the view options to View keywords only.
3 - set the sort option to sort by keyword.
4 - now look for that unique keyword, select them all and create a new roll. To see the new roll you'll have to reset rolls to be viewed.
If there are more than one keyword for those photos, the the first keyword assigned to that photo will determine where it falls in the listing of photos. So it's best if there are no keywords other than the unique one.

  • Move photos between rolls

    Hi,
I don't know why this is so difficult but I just want to do the most basic thing. In photos view, I want to create a roll (new category of pictures). Then I want to move photos from one roll to another. I can drag them up or down but I will move to the top with my pictures selected and it will move a little bit but then stop. I can't go up all the way to a different roll.
I tried cut and paste but that didn't work either.
    Thanks in advance

You're absolutely right, Apple isn't that dumb and I have no difficulty dragging and dropping between Events, though you seem to, so I suggested a way for that works for those who have problems with dragging and dropping.
d then, when adding photos, I can't drag a photo to a specific event. I would have to drag it to iPhoto, it will create a new roll, then go to that roll, flag the photos in that roll, go back to events, add flag photos to that event, then go to that event, find the flagged photos and then unflag them.
Well, no matter what you cannot import to a specific Event. Every import creates at least one new Event. Of course, the most recent Event is easy to find: just click on that 'Last Import' on the left hand pane.
Unflagging is pretty straightforward too. Try clicking on the 'Flagged Photos' on the left hand pane (Hint: it's directly below 'Last Import'), command-a selects all, and unflag them.
    Or, practise dragging and dropping.

  • My iPhoto stopped letting me move photos between albums.

i used to be able to move the photos i uploaded to my iphoto between the different albums i have and now it wont let me. does anyone know why or how to fix it?

What version of iPhoto do you have?
as to moving photos between albums just open the source album and drag the photos to the destination album in the source pane on the left
And you do not "upload" photos - you import them - typically an import does not create an album - it creates an event - how are you importing your photos?

I am trying to copy some photos from iphoto and move them to another user on the same mac. Can anyone help please?

    Hello Whigged-out,
It sounds like you would like to share one library between two different users on your iMac.  I found an article with steps you can take to accomplish this:

  • How do I move photos between projects if the photo is published in Flickr/Facebook

I have a TOSORT project in my library that I use to triage photos as they come in. I go through and work on the photos and then move them to an appropriate library.  I made the mistake of accidentally publishing some photos to Flickr/Facebook from this folder and now I can't seem to move them out. Any tips/tricks I am missing?

The answer is that you cannot do a complete Move so long as the FB/Flickr album exists.  See:

  • Is there a way to move photos between events in Search mode?

I have just switched over to iPhoto on my new Mac (from PS Elements 5 on my old PC) and I am trying to get everything organized again. All the files have been put in Events, but not always theEvenst I want them in. What I keep wanting to do is run a search on file names (which works beautifully!) and then move some of the resulting items from one event into another. This doesn't seem to be possible, though. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I completely agree with Larry's comments about Albums being a far superior method of organisation. However, to move files from a search you can use Flagging:
Simply Flag the files you want to move then, from the Events menu, choose either: 'Create Events from Flagged Photos' or "Add Flagged Photos to Selected Events' as you require.
Here's a tip - as these things are easy to make a mistake on: -z will undo the last thing you did.

  • Move photos between communities?

I just downloaded Elements 10, and have imported into 2 communities from 2 iPhoto libraries. Is there a way to move some photos out of one community and put them in another?

What is a community? Do you mean a catalog?  If so, probably the fastest way is just to use File>Get Photos>From files and folders and go to where the organizer put the new copies it made when you used the import command. The catalog is just a database. One photo can be in a dozen different catalogs if you want, without duplicating the image.
Then go back to the catalog where you want to remove the photos, select all the ones you don't want in that catalog and right click one and choose Delete from Catalog (just don't also choose Delete from hard drive).
But most people opt to have  one catalog for all their photos and use albums in PSE for what iphoto uses events for.

  • Move photos between catalogues

    Hello.
I have several catalogues on my iMac and I need to move a set of images from one catalogue to another.
All the files and catalogues are on the same iMac/HDD and the files are RAW format. I am using LR4.
    Thank you.

Keep in mind that while Paige is (as usual) correct the described procedure is not strictly speaking a "move". It is a "copy". At the end the photos are in BOTH catalogs (not to mention the third catalog used to transport the photos from one to the other).
More evidence that the correct (almost always) solution is to use this "copy" technique to get all your photos into one catalog and then get rid of the rest.

  • How to move photos between albums

Simple question, I know. I'm embarrassed to even ask. I tried Command key to select several images, then dragging the photos to targeted folder. No dice. Help?

You have to drag by the image, not by the border.
