Move playlist to second pc
I have an Itunes library on my primary computer, with some 50 gb of Apple Lossless files, some imported, some purchased from the "store".
I have a second computer, with a much smaller hard drive (20gb avail) I would like to hook into my stereo system to playback when at home.
As the full library won't fit on my "stereo's" computer, I would like to take my "favorites" playlist and copy those songs only to the other pc. I can't find a way to backup just selected songs in a playlist.
Anyone have a thought on how to do this?

If you can mount the second computer's hard drive over the network, you can do this:
1. Open iTunes on your primary computer
2. Select the playlist you want to transfer. Select all the songs in the playlist.
3. In Windows, browse to the network location where you want to copy the files.
4. Drag the songs from iTunes into the explorer window. All the songs will be copied.
Now on the second computer you can just add that folder into an iTunes playlist simply by creating the new playlist and dragging the folder from explorer into the new playlist.

Recently upgraded to Remote App 3.0, along with an ATV upgrade. Glad to see the WiFi issues have been cleared up. new problem however is that Movie Playlists will not start the movie.
Scenario is:
Load Remote App 3.0
Connect to "Office" Apple TV
Select "Media Server" from Home Share
I do no select any specific category, and I am presented with all my Playlists
Select Movie from any playlist (Smart or no) the movie will not start
Anyone else running in to this problem.
If I look under specificly the "Movies" section in the Home Share, the only options I have are Unwatched, All Movies and Generes.
When using the navigation controls and having the AppleTV it self view the play lists (after enabling the option to see Playlists in all areas) I am able to use the Smart Playlists I have been able to use. This would isolate the issue to Remote App 3.0
The question is, why won't the latest Remote App start a movie from a playlist?Issue confirmed.

Unable to load movie playlist?
I'm really starting to regret Upgrading to Director 11. I
didn't have any of these issues going from MX to MX 2004. All I'm
trying to do is make a simple projector work on a Mac and it's one
issue after another. Not to mention all this after updating a whole
boat load of Xtras 11 requires.
The new one is this;
Unable to load movie playlist. Does the INI file exsist? It
must contain a section '(Movies)' with an entry
'Movies01=pathname.dir'.
I've already read a couple of other forum post with the same
error message going on with others but can't find certain files
required to make the fix like the 'Projec32.skl',
and I don't know how to read, let alone make an .INI file.
I'll mention I got this error after updating to Shockwave 11
EVEN though I was not publishing a Shockwave movie.
I know I just need to include a certain file on my CD when I
burn one because all works great on the desk top, but I'm throwing
darts trying to figure out what the CD burn is missing.
So to make a long story short does anyone know what I might
be missing?
I'm new to making director movies for the Mac, and even using
a Mac so I might need it spelled out a little more for being a
novice.

PS I tried making a Mac Projector from my PC with no good
results either.This is a very frustrating problem. I have run into it as well, but can't tell you exactly how I solved it, its been a while since I've seen it. It does have something to do with the length of the path to your projector when its published. I would suggest moving your movie as close as possible to the root of the drive, you may even want to restart to ensure all the internal variables have been reset and then republish the movie.
If you publish the movie from your authoring location and then copy the projector to a cd or the desktop the path length seems to be built into the projector at publishing. So that does not solve the problem. It is fairly easy to get a long path name - c:/mylocaldrive/documents and settings/yourusername/yourprojectsfolder/yourprojectname.dir has a path name length of 100 characters! I realize you are on a mac, but the same rules apply.
I also might be mistaken with the maximum path length. Perhaps its 128 characters?
Has anyone else run into this error?

Movie playlist in iTunes is not showing up on ATV3
I created a Movie playlist in iTunes with 3 trailers and a movie. I can view the playlist fine in iTunes. When I go to my ATV3 the playlist does not show up anywhere. There is no playlist option under movies and the playlist doesn't show up when I select playlists under Music. I can access my music playlists fine and also the movies. It's just this Movie playlist that is missing on the ATV. Where do I access a Movie playlist on ATV3?

I am posting this here because I started chat mode with Apple support last night at midnight till 1:30, they didn't know what to do.
They called me back this morning at 10 am.
It's not 11:40 they finally know what I am talking about and showed me where to to find the "music only / all" toggle. My problem is now fixed;
all these time, they have in front of them a screen shot of your questions and answer but they don't know where to change it from music only to all.
So, I hope this will save the next victim a lot of time.

Every time I try to export my movie into a Windows Format from compressor it shrinks the movie to 27 seconds.WHY? HELP
Probably because you have the free version of Flip4MAc from Telestream that limits exported files to 30 seconds or so. There ae several paid versions – depending on your requirements

Is there a way to make movies playlists in itunes 10?
I would like to be able to make a playlist consisting of movies without having to change info to make them into music videos. If there were a sperarte music video category in the itunes library section, that sure would be neat. But instead there is a music video playlist where the music videos will be, but they also show up in the Music library which I do not like or want. So is there a way to make a movies playlist w/o them ending up clogging the Music section of my itunes library?
You can make a playlist that contains any combination of audio and video from the Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books (Audiobooks) and Podcasts sources. If you really object to the music videos appearing in Music, either make them Movies, or perhaps better yet, TV Shows and give them a common Show name to group them together.

Rented 2 movies, watched one, second one kept downloading for 3 days and finally failed. I was charged for it, it never downloaded, cannot be found in "Available Downloads".
When you go to "Report a problem" next to the item (Great Gatsby) on the email invoice or on the online account - it takes you to online support - if you elect problems with iTune downloads the page NEVER opens... no email contact. Please helpThis is bad - I have an Apple automated response that they got my report on 12/6, 12/10 and 12/14, and I haven't heard anything from them since the 6th when I got one reply that told me to do things I tried before reporting the problem. Between the 6th and 10th I replied to their response 4 times and they ignored me, forcing me to report a problem with two more items that wont download but getting no response.
How do they get away with this kind of behavior, especially for someone with FIVE Core 2 Duo macs and thousands of dollars of of iTunes store purchases? I'm getting really ******. -
Movie playlist now missing on iOS 5 for iPad
Is anyone aware if Apple will be bringing back the ability to create movie playlists as was available on iOS4? What a bummer.
Sorry, but no one who would know can discuss unreleased software such as iOS 5 in these forums. We'll have to wait, probably for the official release, before such details will be known.

iMac 7,1 turning internal screen off while watching a movie via output (second display), is it possible with Lion?
Actually, Plex does the best job by placing a black background to the internal iMac screen it's called Blanking.
However that does not turn off the backlit which is very bright on the iMac 24" also the internal screen will draw more power that way. As you probably know running bootcamp you can turn off the internal screen while watching a movie on the external. This isn't a hardware limitation, I hope Lion has this feature. -
When watching a movie every 7 seconds there is a very short freeze or shutter. The last 5 movies have had this problem. Iam unsure what to do.

Movie Playlist Autoplay next movie
Since the latest update of the iTunes for Windows 7 (x64) that my movie playlists don't play automaticly from the end of the movie A to the begining of the movie B and so on...
In the latest version this works perfectly, and now I don't know how it stoped.

Video playlist and movie playlist
Is there a way to place the videos that i have converted with the videora program into the video section and not the movie section on my 30g video ipod? Or if not can I make a movie playlist?

Any way to convert a file from Movie playlist to TV show playlist?
Hi, I just uploaded a few tv shows from my computer to itunes, but unfortunately, the tv show i uploaded went to the Movies playlist.
I cannot drag the file over to tv show no matter how hard i try. It stays on Movies.
Is there any way to change this?

In the past, I've always had specific playlists in iTunes that I would add/remove songs and movies from then sync directly to my iPod (just in case something happend and I lost everything on the iPod I could just sync right back to where it was).
But now with the iPhone 3G all I can do is scroll through a list (in my case, an extremely long list) of movies and put a tick next to the ones I want on my iPhone - this gets very annoying very quickly.
Is there a way to sync movie playlists directly to you iPhone 3G?No way.
iPhone only recognizes one Movie list, the same for TV Shows.
If you want to create a Movie list in the iTunes you use to sync your iPhone, it won't be recognized either.
The Movies are treated as if they were in a solely single list that you can't modify... at least that you modify the name of every movie in iTunes to make them appear in different order.
I am agree that it is a must to have a way to manage movies in different lists. But, at this moment, it is impossible.
