Rented video from iTunes for iPad but video is missing? Can anyone help

You're sure that it completely downloaded? There may be a downloads button at the bottom on the right side of the iTunes Store app if the movie did not finish downloading.
Did you look in there to make sure that it fully downloaded?
You can also search for it. Swipe down from the middle of the home screen to get to the search field at the top of the screen. Type in the name of the movie and see if it shows up. If it appears, you can tap on it and it will begin to play but that will also start the 24 or 48 hour timer that you get to watch a rental once you start it.
If you are not ready to watch the movie, don't tap on it. But if it shows up in the search, you know it's on the iPad so the next thing that I would do is reset the iPad and then look again in the videos app.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • How to move rented movie to iPad?

I have moved a rented movie via the movie tab in Itunes, the movie moves to the Ipad window frame, yet it is not appearing on my Ipad.  I am connected to the internet.  Does anyone have any hints?  Thank you,

You can't if you rented and downloaded it directly on the iPad - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1415 :
You can move the rental between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period. However, the movie can only be played on one device at a time. If you rent a movie on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple TV, it is not transferable to any other device and you must watch it on that device.

How to remotely transfer rented movie to my iPad?

Not if you rented and downloaded it on your iPad, you can only watch it on that - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
    Why it's like that I don't know

  • Move rented movie from one computer to another.

I rented a movie on my laptop, but now want to watch it on a different computer. Is it possible to do so, or do I have to watch on the laptop?

I understand that it is because I rented. I just thought I would be able to transfer. I never intended to watch the movie on the laptop. I just wanted to rent it from there.
There are lots of possibilities for transferring rented material from Computer to iPod to AppleTV and back.... Just not from computer to computers.
I won't make an impulse "rental" on my laptop ever again. Too bad, since I use it more than the iMac.

  • Move rented movie from external disk to internal disk

While at home, my iTunes library is located on an external USB drive. I've rented a movie while the disk was attached and of course it was downloaded to the external disk. But now I'd like to leave the house and watch that movie on the road. Is it possible to move the file somewhere on my internal disk and how would I let iTunes know of the new location? This seems to be a situation that many laptop users would find themselves in at some point... any solution/ideas?

  • How do I move a imovie from mac to iPad

I have lion operating system and iPad 2 I want to move a movie I made in iMovie from my mac to my iPad and don't know how?

It has to be a movie you can bring into iTunes.  Once there, it can be added to the iPad as part of the iPad syncing preferences under iTunes's preferences.

I can not get movies to transfere from my computer to my IPad,  I am using Window 7 64 byt and have down loaded the lastest version of Itunes from Itunes.  It will act like it is getting ready to sync (just like it did in the past) and then it stops

Ok, I searched system profiler and opened it up and I see the word firewire listed but that's all. I honestly have no idea what this is supposed to look like or what I should be looking for. Thanks again.
Did you click on the Firewire word? What do see to the right of it?
If you see something like the picture and nothing below the "Maximum speed" line, then the camera is not being "seen" by your mac. Otherwise a description of the camera should appear in the right pane.

  • Unable to move rented movies from iPhone4 to iTunes

    Hello,
I am looking for some advice. I rented a movie on my iPhone4. I have not watched this movie yet.
I'd like to move the movie from my iPhone to AppleTV.
When I sync my iPhone, the rented movies do not appear in the movies tab within iTunes.
Sync movies is checked and the capacity bar at the bottom of the screen says I have 2 videos. I was exoecting the movies on my phone to be listed in the movies tab.
    Please help!
    Thanks!

On iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, you can transfer rented movies between iPhone and your computer. On iPhone 4, you can transfer rented movies between iPhone and your computer only if they were rented in iTunes on your computer. Movies rented on iPhone 4 cannot be transferred to a computer.
You don't list what version of the iPhone you have.

  • Can't move rented movies from iTunes to AppleTV

I have a rented movie queue in my iTunes library and would like to watch it on my AppleTV. Can't seem to figure out how to move it? Running iTunes under Windows XP. Thanks.

For now, this is correct. There will be an update to the Apple TV within the next week which will allow it to play rented content as well as rent it natively.

  • Can't Move rented movies Macbook to iPod Touch

Rented 2 Movies from iTunes.  Downloaded both to Macbook.  Syncing iPod touch to Macbook, selected Move the movies to iPod.  Received error message Cannot move movies to iPod because they are in an unsupported format.  Very Odd since they came from iTunes store and I have done this dozens of times before.  An older movie that i had ripped did transfer ok.  Movies are MPEG-4, rented "Protected MPEG-4".  I am traveling and would like to have these movies on my iPod.

Itunes support answered the question.  It happens that my version of iPod touch won't support the HD format.  Had I rented the movie in SD i would have been able to complete the transfer

  • How do I move rented movies from the itunes library to my 1st generation Apple TV?

Any help with this would be much appreciated. If you read the Apple help functions it all seems so simple; it just tells you to select the movie & press the move button. There is no move button on itunes!! Alternatively you are asked to select Apple TV in devices - fine - and then select the movies tab. What movies tab? Nothing at all shows up when you select the Apple TV device apart from the serial number & the IP address.
The instructions are just impossible to follow as the functions described just do not exist in itunes 10. I am just so frustrated & the only solution appears to be to rent the movie again from the Apple TV. So I have to pay twice to just watch the movie once? I HATE Apple's attitude to owners of the 1st Generation TV. They are basically just saying stuff it, we really don't care!!

Use File -> Add to Library and navigate to the
files you wish to select. You can also select a
contiguous block by holding down the shift key as you
click from first to last item in a list. Then press
the "select" button. You aiff files should be added
    to the iTunes library
    Moriond,
It worked! and on my first try. And all at one time. Thanks a million. I still have to delete all the AIFF files and name the songs and artists in my iTunes library, but I'll do that tomorrow. For now, I'll just close out my day with this great achievement, thanks to you.

  • Can't move rented movie from macbook pro to apple tv (1st gen)

any advice? i rented two movies (non HD as far as i can tell) from my macbook and can't seem to get it over to my 1st gen apple tv. ive tried dragging and dropping, no luck.

You don't sync or drag and drop rentals to the tv, you need to move them.
Transferring rentals will look something like this
