Move subscription / phone number to a different ac...

Hi,
I have 2 skype numbers connected to my account. This is not optimal because I want to forward both numbers to different mobiles and that is not possible. So I want to switch one number to a new skype account which will result in 2 different account, each connected with one skype number.
But I cannot figure out how to get this done. I could cancel one subscription and claim it with the other account. But I am not sure it the number is available right away.
Anyone got an idea?

You are on the right track: because Skype does not permit the transfer of any calling feature, subscription, or credit from one account to another, our only recourse is to cancel one Skype Number subscription and start a new subscription on a new account, thereby achieving the goal of being able to transfer two Skype Numbers to two different mobile phone numbers.
What you would have to do - with no guarantee of success - would be to cancel one of the Skype Number subscriptions (which would still be usable until the end of the subscription term), then wait the 90 days while the number is held in reserve on your account to reactivate it, and then hope you can "grab" the number when it is released back into the available pool of numbers from which to choose.
In keeping things simple, there is no flexibility with changing plans or subscriptions.

You need to set up the accounts in System Preferences/Accounts, then activate Fast User Switching.
That way you can quickly log in to your own account - then back to his.
You should obviously have different passwords.

Subscription Phone Number Question

I could use your help. I have a real phone number through Skype and a US/Canada unlimited subscription. I will be traveling in South America for a few weeks and wanted to know if I will be able to send/receive calls on my Skype number without any additional charges event though I will not physically be in the US.
I do want to clarify that I live in the US full time and am not trying to scam the system. I just need to know if there will be any additional charges on receiving/placing calls for the few weeks I am gone.

Normally, her new phone will be activated with her existing number and you will have to have the old phone activated with a different number (including the $30/month data plan). I just went through this process, I bought a 3GS and gave my 3G to one of my kids.

You can do this, and there is no charge to swap devices. Since both lines are active, you should go to a store and have the rep there do the swap. Keep in mind that the iPhone has a different voicemail system so neither one of you will have access to any existing voicemail messages on your current number once the swap is complete.

I've searched but not found an answer to this one. I want to:
1) Move my phone line to a new property
2) Set up a new account for the current property (for someone still living there)
3) Move my current phone number, to the new account, on the current property.
To be clear - I don't want to move my phone number to my new property. I want to move my phone number to a new account - held by someone else - on the existing property.
My question: what is the best way of arranging this? Can BT provide account management for a complex move?

A short history - how I lost my partner's father's phone number
A few months ago, my partner and I moved in with my partner's father (hereafter: PF) while we prepared to buy a new property. At this point we had no property to move our still-in-contract BT package to.
BT told us that to prevent a large charge for the remainder of our minimum term period, we should move the account to PF's house, but keep 'putting off' the installation until we had a new address to have the service re-instated.
When it came close to the original installation date (you can specify a maximum of a couple months from move date), I asked BT to 'put off' the installation by a few weeks. They obliged.
What BT didn't mention was that the current account holder (PF) would automatically have their line/number disconnected, and account closed, on the orginal installation day. My 'putting off' of my installation day had no effect on the disconnection, thus PF was left without a working phone. Worse, the phone number (held for ~20 years) was lost.
After much wrangling with BT, we managed to get my line installation expedited, and PF's phone number attached to my line.
The current state: PF has no BT account. I have the same BT account I've always had, but with PF's phone number.
My partner and I will move out ASAP. PF wants to have his own BT account, and his own phone number. If necessary, I can close my BT account.

Friends of mine are telling me that they are seeing a phone number that is different from my number when I call them. This is a new development that started after my last payment. Why is this happening, and how can it be corrected?

Your Skype number is displaying differently on your caller ID?
I'm also having the same issue, for weeks now.
Either it would say I'm calling from a private number, or a number completely diffferent than the phone number I'm paying for.
Here's what you do to fix it:
Step 1: Log into your Skype account here: https://secure.skype.com/account
Step 2: On the Call Phones tab, click the Caller identification link, then click select a pre-saved number (to change it back to normal, or enter a new number, i.e your own cell phone number to be displayed)
Step 3: Choose your Online Number from the drop-down list and Save. Your Online Number is now set as your Caller ID.
^Problem solved.

Why do I have to move my phone line from Sky to BT...

I have just spent the last 14 days trying to move my broad band from BT to Sky, I was told by Sky that I have to have a new phone number and as I was getting loads of unwanted phone call I thought that it would be a good Idea. So any way I ordered a new number and broadband with sky.
Any way to cut a 14 day long story short, Sky cannot provide me with Broadband due to incompatible technology, so I really do not have any other option other than to come back to helpful BT. Just phone BT up to order my BB to be told that they cannot help me unless I move my phone number back to BT..........
When questioned about this I was told that "I have to have both phone line and Broadband with BT"......... NO I DO NOT, in February 2012 I moved my phone line to Sky and my Broadband staied with BT, as there was a problem switching it over, little did I know then what I know now.
So could someone from BT 'in the know' please tell me why I have to move my phone line back to BT

Hadn't heard about TPON lines before today.
Doing a quick google search, found this:
"TPON stands for Telephony over Passive Optical Network
TPON was a method used by BT (now Openreach) mainly in the 1980s and early 1990s to deliver phone lines to new build areas where there wasn't enough existing copper capacity available. This decision was made before ADSL was envisaged, and as ADSL requires a copper pair route between customer and exchange, this means customers in TPON areas are currently unable to receive ADSL."

You can changed the phone number to a different number that can receive sms messages as follows:
In iOS 8, tap Settings > iCloud > Keychain > Advanced. In iOS 7, tap Settings > iCloud > Account > Keychain. Make sure the phone number under Verification Number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
In OS X Mavericks v10.9, choose Apple () > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account Details. Make sure the phone number under Verification number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Make sure that your new number is updated in Settings > Phone > My Number. Once this done, follow the steps in the quoted section below. Next, sign back into iMessage and FaceTime. The history will not be modified as no data is deleted.
Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

Hi, first a quick rant: I'm an EXTREMELY frustrated new user. I have spent the last hour trying to figure out what I just purchased and what I can do to get an explaination, but whoever created this website did so without a new user in mind. Quickly: I need help trying to determine what I just purchased and what to do from here. As Quickly as I can explain what's going on: My friend in Croatia told me he spent $60 for unlimited calling. He can apparently call anywhere to phones - as we made several calls to landlines in both the states and england from his computer. We've since left his place. As I'm traveling to many countries, I figured this was a great idea, I'll pay up front instead of purchasing credits. I whipped out my credit card and paid $60 after chosing a number. After about an hour, the transaction cleared on my account with a renewal in 12 months. I went to make a call and it said I didn't have enough credit. After trying to figure out what happened all I can determine is that I might have paid for the use of a phone number for 12 months and not a subscription. Now of course after trying for several hours trying to find out how to contact Microsoft or Skype - or Whatever help center - for the past hour and finding they deflect all help to their help pages that comes nowhere NEAR helping me or explaining what has happened - and if I made a mistake how to correct it. I apparently need to spend more money for a premium account to get actual advice or any kind of resolution. Any company that takes money and expects a new user just to GET it, without providing some human interaction is a horrid company. So I paid for something I didn't want and can't use. I THINK. But I can't request a refund or help because I haven't paid for a premium account. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks so much; I realize you're probably just a user of the service like myself.

We went through my friend's phone and my daughter's email and phone number are not in it. I have never given my daughter's iphone number to my friend. Is it something to do with gmail or my apple id? My daughter (14) has been using my computer as her "base" for HER Iphone.
My friend does use her iphone number as an email address as well.
For instance: her phone number might look like this: (493) 305-3958
and her email address would look like this: [email protected]
If I Iphone/email my friend, she receives it as a text message. Then if she replies to that text message, it goes to my daughter's phone and not mine. It's completely crazy! We searched her phone contacts and did not find my daughter's phone number anywhere or attached anywhere to mine. Since when does Iphone emailing wind up in the text messaging area?

Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

I am trying to sync a iPhone 3GS (I have 4 phones on my account) and I haven't sync'd it since October? (It's my brother's phone and he doesn't use a lot of the features and wasn't willing to give it up for me to do so) anyway, I have over the years had to get new phones (replacements and such from Apple) so when I plugged this in it ONLY gave me the option of my phone number. There was a list of other "Andrea's iPhone" but if I click on them the phone number still doesn't change to the one that matches his phone! Hence I am scared to death that my entire phone is going to load on to his and I have the 4S! I have NO idea how to fix it what to do. Do I set it up as a new phone? I mean how do I back it up and get the new software on it and everything? Any and ALL help appreciated! Will be grateful for anyone who is wiilin to answer me !!! Thanks

I think I have this posted in the wrong area, but don't know how to change it. I figured out how to download songs to my playlist in Itunes 12.1. It seems that it does not work unless I delete the songs from my library first so they are only available on icloud. Then I move the songs to the playlist. After I am done adding the songs to the playlist, I press the cloud next to the playlist and the songs are downloaded to my iphone. If I press sync first, I end up with the old playlist back on my computer minus the deletions and new songs.
I am now having problems getting my new purchases to transfer to my library. If anyone knows how to get Itunes 12.1 to do this automatically, please let me know.
