Move to iCloud

Downloaded iOS5 to iPhone 4-updated all software via Update button. Received on screen offering to move all to iCloud which I clicked. Since then, almost a week nothing.  My attempt to sign in to me.mail.com results in a perpetual screen with message 'mail loading'. Have retried many times at different times of day and night. I can access as normal via icons on my desk top but no access to mobile me(me.com) to enable me to move to iCloud.
Please can anyone help?
Many thanks

Thanks for your reply which came through though not shown above.
I was trying to access me.com from my Macbook.
Only prob I have encountered since getting to iCloud is when I sync to iTunes I get the response 'cannot sync to mail accounts as in use by iPhone, please delete mail settings on iPhone and try again'
Tried moving the slider to 'off' but that doesn't work.  Any ideas on that one please?
Thanks again.

  • How can I move my iCloud account to another Apple ID?

I know it might be a long shot, but I have recently made a new iTunes/AppleID account, and want to move my iCloud account from my old account to the new one without it being tied to the old one in any way. Is there a way to do this?

You can move data from one account to another, this can be done on a computer.

Set up in iPhone.   Go to System Preferences, click on iCloud, get the message "move to iCloud", sign in, click on open iCloud", sign in again, and get only FindmyPhone? Thus, when I go to Iphoto to set up photo sharing, it says I have to have icloud account-go to sys preferences--then i go through the loop again?  Suggestions?

Now I have to get my sign-in for mobileme to be the same as my sign-in for Itunes, etc. so I have only one Apple ID!
You're not going to be able to: you can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to another: but there is no problem about using two IDs.
Use your ex-MobileMe email address (which is also an Apple ID) for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream.
Use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

  • How do I move my icloud email address to a different Itunes ID

How do I move my movies from iCloud to my iPad  i hate iCloud!
I Can never watch a movie on the plane unless I move it first!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
All you need to do is enable contacts in system preferences > iCloud on your Mac. Once you do this a sync will commence and your contacts application will be populated with your contacts from iCloud.

  • HT4929 Should I move to icloud if none of my devices are compatible?

I have a macmini and a macbook air both with 2GB ram running snow leopard, an iphone 3G running iOS4.2.1 and and an original ipad.
I was a .mac member and a mobileme member.
I stopped using mobileme to sync contacts and calendars because for some reason my contacts and calendars were corrupted and would never sync properly. So I was basically only using mail.
I signed up to keep my mail.
I used gallery and web.me - which I know are going away. I downloaded everything but and it will be painful for me when everything is deleted.
    QUESTIONS:
Do I need to move to iCloud? Is there any benefit for me?
If I upgrade my macOS to Lion or get a new iPhone after June 30th, will I be able to use iCloud with my current email address?
    Afraid to upgrade...
    - I don't want to upgrade macmini and macbook air from snow leopard ot Lion right now because I heard that both my machines may need more than 2GM ram to run smoothly.
    - I don't want to upgrade from iPhoto 8.12 to iPhoto 11 because I heard people don't like it and it's slow with only 2GM ram.
    - I don't want to my original iPad to iOS5 because I heard that some people's got 'bricked'?
    - I cant' upgrade my iPhone 3G
QUESTION: Should I upgrade my OS and iPhoto? It seems like I only read bad things, not positive things which is very paralyzing.
Afraid to trust Apple with my data... Every time I commit to putting my data in an apple service, the service is ended and my data is deleted. homepage.mac, gallery, web.me, corrupted contact lists, etc... Other companies care about the data and help customers move their data.
I don't want to buy all new hardware and software with the promise that Apple will take care of my data. They didn't when I was paying for mobileme. Will they care about my data if it's a free service in iCloud? I've been an Apple customer since 1991, and have owned dozens of apple products and even worked at Apple. July 1, 2012 I will be very sad when my data... photos and websites will be deleted like they are nothing. Everything Apple helps you create and collect is treated as if it has no significance.

If you have moved your current MobileMe email address to iCloud in order to keep using it after today, then you have already "moved" to iCloud - you just havent moved everything and are not using all the features.
At anytime in the future, when you get compatible hardware and software you can start using the rest of iCloud with your current account.
No company can guarantee that they or their services will be around forever. Apple have stated publicly that iCloud is central to their business for the next decade or more.
    - RAM is cheap and your machines and software will always benefit from having more RAM.
    - Like anything in life, some people like iPhoto, some don't. Maybe you should make up your own mind?
    - What about the 99.999% of people whose iPads didn't get bricked updating to iOS5? People get killed everyday crossing the street - doesn't stop you doing it though, does it?
You should never trust any single company with your data - regardless of who it is. That's why backups were invented.
Apple have given over a years notice of the end of MobileMe (much longer than any other company has ever given of thE closure of other services, that I recall). They also automatically handle the migration to iCloud, and provide lots of detailed support articles for backing up and moving your stuff. What more do you want? Them to come round personally and do it for you?

  • I have 3 macs. 2 are Lion, 1 I left Snow leopard so I can access data from my old Quicken Application that doesn't work with Lion. If I move to iCloud, will I no longer be able to access my MobileMe email on the Snow Leopard mac?

What version of word do you have? The TS3938 sounds like it's a PowerPC app- written for an old architecture that is no longer supported in Lion. If this is the case, your files are fine- you just need a newer version of word that will run in Lion in order to open them. The newest version (2011) should be readily available anywhere, and has worked fine for me ever since I switched to Lion on release day....

  • How do I delete movie from iCloud on my iPad

How do I delete movies from iCloud on my iPad

That's a big fat lie, I have 10 movies via digital copy and takes 0 space from my icloud backup. & we have 5 devices backup to my icloud account AND I have my backup storage to basic 5GIGS. So right there you say to make you pay more storage is a BIG FAT LIE. Our devices contains 8-64GB's and everything fits in a 5gigs space.
You might as add well the apps accounts for space to. WRONG!!
Those apps are in your account but not in your storage, the iTunes App Store part, doesn't even add to your icloud storage. Your backup contains the save files, network routers you connected in the past plus the small layout how you customized it over your home page.
That part takes small kb of space needed to save all that.
Movies on your device will take storage but if it's NOT on your device, IT WONT!
Like I said, once it's added to the account via key from the case to your account, stays tie to your account & will NOT take space from your icloud backup storage.
And don't even forgt that I have 5 device from my family with 10 digital copies on one storage with 5gigs and have 800's MB left. We use our photo/videos we took from camera to a remote secure site onto our computers.
Simple as that, if you don't listen to that then I feel sorry for you not listening.
But your not gonna get any other answers besides logging out what I said months back. GOOD DAY!
Ps. If there were, you've been already got an answer besides mine. Go ahead and waist your life lookn for an answer which doesn't have an answer to other than that what I said.
And yes, that's what I meant JJorvath. Hide it but will not get off your account bc it's not part of icloud backup.

  • How do I get my movies in iCloud?

How do I get my movies that I have downloaded to my iMac then put in iTunes in iCloud so i can access from all devices (iPad, iPhone etc.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't put movies into iCloud.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.

  • Audio files currently Mobile.me hosted - how to move to iCloud?

We need to transfer hundreds of spoken word audio files (aac and mp3), from mobile.me hosting. Here is an example of where one of these files resides –-
    http://web.me.com/mehermontessori/MandaliHallTalks/eruchtalks/Eruch_August1_1987 /MP3Aug1_1987/JalSamadhiBaba.mp3
We want to move to iCloud hosting.  What is the procedure for copying the files from mobile.me to iCloud and what is iCloud’s hosting prefix url?

iCloud does not provide any equivalent hosting service: you will need to find a third-party provider. Any web hosting service should be OK, and there's plenty of choice.
Hopefully you have local copies of these files as well as the ones on the iDisk; if not you need to be copying them down as soon as possible or you will lose them at the end of June.

  • "Finishing move to iCloud" mobile Me window is in a loop. Cannot stop it, close it nor sign out.

I have just moved from Mobile Me to iCloud and while it seems that the transfer was completed, the Mobile Me window " Finishing move to iCloud..." is in a loop. Closing it is not allowed, nor stopping it or signing out. Any tips how to solve this? Shuting down the Mac and restart? Is something unfinished?

That option has been there since day one. Nothing new. You just noticed it is all. Not everyone needs to worry about others accessing the computer, and that option just makes things a little easier. Also, the access is not open permanently.

  • HT2623 Why was I forced to move to iCloud, when MobileMe has not been removed?

Why was I prompted to move to iCloud when MobileMe is still functioning and asking me to subscribe to the site? Am I the only one who is confused?
    Etela

MobileMe isn't still functioning - it's completely closed. You should go to System Preferences>MobileMe>iDisk and stop iDisk syncing if it is running; go to the sync pane and stop any syncing, then go to the Account pane and sign out, otherwise you will get these error messages.
If you have not migrated your MobileMe account to iCloud it is now too late to do so, and the entire contents of the account have been deleted, emails and iDisk included.
Your signature says you have 10.6.2 - is this correct? You cannot access iCloud on Snow Leopard - Lion 10.7.2 is the minimum requirement.

  • Can iphone3 running ios4 still connect to MobileMe if I move to icloud

I have a current iMac, an iPad - But an original iPhone3 [running ios4]. BEFORE I upgrade/MOVE to iCloud is there anyway to keep the old iPhone in sync (as it is with MobileMe at the moment) or do I lose all 'pushes', Calendars etc, and basically make it redundant.  Seems that I could connect to icloud.com with it but would that get it to download all updates to my info ?

Not a Reply - but an afterthought . . Perhaps it is easiest to move to iCloud and just rely on 'syncing' the old iPhone3 to the iMac to update - will that work?

  • Email-only MobileMe - movement to iCloud?

    Hi,
I have a mobileMe account with an additional mobileMe email-only add-on that my wife uses as her email address.  I can't work out how this translates into iCloud.
I only want one iCloud account, so both myself and my wife have the same calendars, bookmarks, etc.  However, we both want separate email addresses as we do now.
Is this what will happen when we convert to iCloud?
    Duncan

Finally got it figured out: You DO want to have two iCloud accounts, but you want one iCloud account to be the source for the Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, iTunes, and PhotoStream on both machines. There is a solution.
The issue: MobileMe account including its own email account, with the user also paying $10 for a second email-only account. The MobileMe account is used for joint Contacts, Calendar, and Safari Bookmarks on two machines, while the main MobileMe mail account was used for mail on one machine and the email-only account was used for mail on the other machine.
We wanted to upgrade to iCloud on both machines and still have joint Contacts, Calendar and Safari bookmarks, plus share our iTunes account and use the new PhotoStream feature on both machines - but preserve the two individual email accounts.
Solution: On the first machine, move to iCloud with everything, using the main MobileMe account name and password. On the second machine, USE THE EMAIL-ONLY ACCOUNT to create a new iCloud account using the username and password for the email only account. That appears to be the critical step: you need to create that new iCloud account with the username and password for the email only account FIRST rather than migrating to iCloud on the second machine using the main MobileMe account name, or else you may permanently lose that second email-only account!
After that, it's all a matter of tweaking the account settings on the other apps to direct to the iCloud account on the first machine.
You will get a screen asking if you want to delete the existing Contacts on that second machine. Do so: DELETE THE EXISTING CONTACTS on that second machine. (Only after backing up your Address Book by using the export function just to be safe.)
Then, WITHIN EACH APPLICATION - Address Book, iTunes, Calendar, Safari - go to the Preferences and set them so that they are tied to the iCloud account for the first machine.
You may need to check your Preferences: for a little while my wife was getting both my mail and hers, until I noticed that within Mail.app she had two accounts: her iCloud account AND my iCloud account. I deleted my account on her machine.
