Move WBS from Project to new Project

Hi all
Currently we have a high numer of deep structured Projects within SAP PS.
The hierarchy looks like:
Project Def
- 1st level WBS
-- 2nd level WBS
-- 2nd level WBS
--- 3rd level WBS
---- Activity
---- Activity
--- 3rd level WBS
---- Activity
-- 2nd level WBS
--- Activity
--- 3rd level WBS
---- Activity
-- 2nd level WBS
We now need to move all the 2nd level WBS elements to distinct projects, preferably without data loss and including all WBS-sub elements from 3rd level. The description of the WBS elements should be copied to the new projects description.
Can someone describe the best-practice, manual way to achieve that?
Is there an automated way to do that, maybe a Transaction code I currently miss?
Is there a possibility to achieve it programmatically?

Hi Michael,
You cannot literally move these WBSe's to new projects. Instead you can create new projects with exactly the same structure and maintain the same descriptions. As far as data is concerned, you need to check the postings that have already happened in the old projects. There are different ways by which this data can be transferred to the new Project. You can either settle the costs from the old WBS to the new ones or simply post a journal entry against the new WBSe's. I would prefer the former one. This however depends on how far the project has progressed i.e. costs incurred, postings done etc. There are a lot of things to consider before doing what you intend to do.
It would be good if you can involve your FICO guys in this exercise. It will be of help.

Gokul

  • Material Purchase Requisition with WBS from Projects

    Hi ;
As per our client requirement we need to create Material Purchase Requisition  with WBS Element  Material .Can Some one send me the procedure .
    Thanks in Advance ;

    HI Joydeep,
This is not possible in PS via CJ20N transaction to create material PR without activities. This is standard SAP restriction, i guess this cannot be changed.
You can use ME51N by account assigning to Project / WBS element, then system will allow you to create.
This is kind of two different functionalities we have to create PR for WBS element / Project / Network.

  • How do I move photos from iPhoto to new PC or Mac?

We are in the market for a new computer.  I want a Mac (of course!) but my husband and our budget are more comfortable with a PC.  My question is how do we move photos from our old Mac to a new comp?  Can it be done via a network?  I assume it is easier from Mac to Mac.  We do not have an external hard drive and our old comp is very outdated.  The version of iPhoto used is 6.0.6 and OS is OS X, 10.4.11.  We cannot do any further updating to either the application or OS.  We do have both an iPod and iPad but neither can even be synced with this current computer!  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

For a PC select all photos in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder. Move that folder to the PC
For a Mac copy the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the pictures folder of the new Mac
The connection can be a network, a cable or even an external hard drive you move to the new system or a DVD if it will hold everything

  • HT1848 Trying to move files from iPad to new MacBook

    Hi.
I'm trying to move my music etc from an iPad to my new Macbook. My previous computer (PC) died some time ago, so I have no backups of the info on my iPad. (Well, a backup from about a year ago!) I lost my iPad data once before, after doing an OS update on it, and it was only my own ideas and not AppleCare that helped me to sort the problem out. That said, I'm a bit nervous now that I don't have any backups of the data.
OK, so I've tried following the steps in the article about this. I've also turned off the automatic sync function now because I'm scared it'll immediately sync to an empty iTunes. But even having done this, I'm still getting the 'sync in progress' message on my iPad. The Macbook isn't giving me the message to 'transfer', but asking if I want to update the OS on the iPad.
So ... Is the iPad actually sync-ing if it says it's sync-ing or is it just in the initial stages of connection and hasn't done anything yet? Can I leave the devices connected?
And if I just say no to the OS update, will I then get the message I'm supposed to get?
*** Oh, and it was opening iPhoto too. I've now followed the instructions to stop this from opening. Would that have been why I was getting the 'sync in progress' message?

You can use a third-party Mac application like Senuti to move music from your iPad to your iTunes library.
It's normal for iPhoto to start when you connect an iPad with photos in its camera roll.

  • How do I move apps from iphone5 to new iPad retina?

HOw to transfer apps from iphone5 to new iPad retina?

One way is to sync the iPhone using iTunes on your computer.  Then assuming your iPad is using the same Apple ID as your iPhone, sync your iPad using the same iTunes.  Make sure you have the apps sync set up correctly in iTunes for your iPad.  While the iPad is plugged in to iTunes, go to the Apps tab and check the instructions.

  • Move Masters from Project

I normal have only one project file for the year and an album for each shoot that I do, I accidently somehow imported my last batch of pictures into a new Project folder. How can move the 50+ loose pics from this projected folder into an album in my main project folder so I can delete this rogue project folder?
    Thank you in advance

In Projects view, select the mistakenly-created Project, drag it on top of the intended Project, and drop it. The Projects will be (should be?) merged. What happens when you do this?
You might tag all the images in the mistakenly-created Project first, so that they are easy to filter for after the merge. Then you can quickly make a new Folder with those Images in it. (They might still be selected after the merge -- worth looking for.)
Note: it is generally recommended to not let your Projects get too big (say, greater than 1,000 Images). Aperture is loosely designed to handle "one shoot = one Project". So you might look for a different organizing method. Since "date" is baked in to every Image, and robust date filtering is built in to Aperture, there is no strong reason to organize you Library based strictly on date -- group by year is built into Project view, and sort by date is built into every view in Aperture. If you do want to organize you Library by date anyway, I suggest using Folders for year and month, and then putting your Projects (= shoot, or event) into one of those Folders.

  • Desktop crashed - How do I move songs from ipod to new library?

I've downloaded the new version of iTunes to my laptop. But when I hook up my ipod, it says that songs can't be transfered because there is another library that they belong to. I have also authorized the laptop but I still can't transfer songs. What am i doing wrong?

Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Move songs from iPod to new computer

Ok so my computer's hard drive recently just crashed and since then I've had to replace it, thus meaning everything I had on it is gone. This includes my 3000+ songs on my iTunes. I was wondering if there was any way I could load the songs from my iPod onto my new computer in iTunes. I didn't have anything backed up or anything so thats out of the question. If anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

  • How do you move photos from iPod to new computer?

Just got a new computer with Windows 7 (I think) after using an old (really old) one. All my photos are on my iPod and the FAQ says they can be moved from it to the new computer if I enabled disk use (which I did). But it doesn't say how to actually move them. Can anybody help?

1.Turn on your computer. Close any applications that might slow the photo transfer.
2.Connect your iPod to your computer with the cord that came with your iPod. Make sure you have turned on the iPod.
3.Open iTunes. Wait for iTunes to register that your iPod is connected. If the screen does not register that a connection, disconnect the iPod and try again.
4.Click on the "Photos" tab below your iPod on iTunes. Look through the photos stored on your iPod.
5.Drag photos from the photos folder on your iPod to the desktop. You may also drag these pictures to a photo editing application, like Photoshop or Photosmart. Move any other images from your iPod to your computer.

  • HT202213 how to move stuff from pc to new iphone

My great nephew just received an iphone 4s for his b'day. His mom wants to move the stuff he purchased already from her pc to his new phone. Only some stuff moved over.
She would also like to set up his own account so he can only purchase with his gift cards & not the c/c she has on file.

You do not want to move events to the desktop or to an icon on the desktop. If you look in the Event Library list in iMovie, you should see icons for your drives there. This is where you should drag.
You must drag one Event at a time.
If you do not see in disk drives in the Event Library list, try clicking VIEW/EVENTS BY DISK.
If you still don't see any drives in the Event Library list, make sure you have formatted the drives as MAC OS Extended (journaled). FAT32 drives will not work in iMovie.

  • Can I move music from IPOD to new computer?

My old laptop died. So I have a new one. I have 30 GB of music on my IPOD classic right now. But I want to transfer the music to my ITUNES library on my new laptop.
Is there a way to do this? There should be. I don't want to have to copy all my CDs to my new laptop. Why can't I just transfer the IPOD content to a new computer?

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
    SharePod is also freeware.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.

  • Can't move contacts from iPhone to new MacBook Pro

    Hi,
my father-in-law has an iPhone 3G which he's used with his PC without a problem. I finally convinced him to buy a MacBook Pro (which he did today) and we've been unable to move the contacts from the iPhone to the laptop. The phone is connected to iTunes and all looks normal but when we select "contacts" to be synced to the laptop and then click apply, nothing happens. Tried to sync it, the phone and iTunes say "syncing" but the contacts are not showing up in the laptop's address book - very embarassing. I'm assuming it's something I'm doing wrong but I can't for the life of me find an answer.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Ole

Before you connect your phone to the mac, you should make sure that auto sync when a phone or ipod is connected is NOT CHECKED in preferences for itunes.
Once you've authorized the account, you should then transfer your purchased apps & music to itunes from your phone.
You do that by going up to file, select transfer purchases made on this ipod to this computer. All of your purchased apps & music will be transferred, music you ripped on your own or photos will not be, you'll have to restore those from a backup.
If you already have contacts in your address book, you should have received the merge prompt when you synced. Are you sure in itunes you have the contact tab checked?
