MOVED: 2 x MSI GTX 680 + MSI Z77-GD65 DOESN't work in SLI

This topic has been moved to Intel Core-iX boards.
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=159122.0

First af all thanks to Svet fo his CL_CMOS idea. It HELPED!!!
Yes! Yestarday SLI turned on and I have 6 hours of clear and pure gameplay!!!
Thanks man! I fight with my comp for whole week!!!
But with light detail: (301.10 video driver) in NVIDIA Control Panel radio button (Maximum Perfomance 3D - SLI) WAS TURNED OFF, but lower I could's see "SLI ON" and all went pretty well.
For 6 hours I didn't reboot, just got pleasure.
Then I rebooted and all became the same (black screen, unstable , etc.)
Today I read thaeon's answer about new video drivers and installed them with one memory stick in dimm1.
AND ALL WORKED!!!
Added second memory stick and...
YES - IT's WORKING!!!
Thank you all! For helping me to resolve this problem.
I am situated 4000 km from nearest MSI certified center and shop, where I bought all equipment.
So for me it was crucial to solve it not to change equipment.
P.S.:
It's stable now, but I have one job to do - Install my ASUS XONAR Essense STX.
I hope all will be fine.

Have you tested with just RAM stick in the primary DIMM slot? Tested each stick individually?
I tested each stick individually. Each in DIMM 1.

Double check the PSU 8-pin CPU power and the mainboard 24-pin power cords are secure to the board.

  • My MSI KT3-ULTRA2 doesn't work with my CPU cooler!!

My MSI KT3-ULTRA2 doesn't work with my CPU cooler!!
I've got an MSI KT3-ULTRA2 mainbord, and I have a NEOLEC VENEZIA TB Cooler. But when I attach my NEOLEC cooler and I start the machine, the machine shuts down within a couple of seconds, and I get nothing to see on my screen. The weird thing is when I turn the PC on, the cooler starts rotating so it can't be broke, but then the pc shuts down i a couple of secs. So pleezze anybody help me!!
The weird thing is that I also have a coolermaster cooler, and that one works fine. But the problem is that this coolermaster is designed for AMD XP 1900+, and I ahve an AMD XP 2200+ that's why I bought the Neolec Venezia TB cooler.

one easy thing to watch for... see if the heatsink or fan is in contact with any part of the motherboard, like... if it is too big and touches something that normally wouldn't be in contact with a fan or heatsink.  If so, it could be shorting it.

the MSI Z77A-GD65 has no onboard GPU at all! the GPU is in your CPU (i5 3570k has Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Graphics Core).
and why do you want to disable it for?

  • MSI TV Card doesn't work in Windows Server 2003 !!!

    Hi All,
I have bought a MSI TV Tuner (TV @nywhere series)
I Installed it on Windows XP and it works properly.
But I Installed it on Windows Server 2003 and noticed that it's not working at all !
It's TV Tuner , however, doesn't work good (It has a weak receiving power). I'm using it as a Radio (MSI Radio). But even the Radio is not working under Windows Server 2003.
I want to know what's the problem ? What Driver should I use ?
I have Installed the same driver in Windows 2003, Because there isn't any Windows 2003-specific driver included in the CD-ROM of this package.
Please guide me what should I do. I need Windows Server 2003 to be my OS. I want to know if this TV Tuner isn't supposed to work on Windows 2003 Server ? It's only desingated for Windows XP and prior ? What's the solution ?

    Hi
    what a pitty !
You are a known company and you DON'T KNOW !! if your hardward can work in Windows Server 2003 or not (:|
Or maybe you don't assume Windows Server 2003 as an Operating System !
Also I checked the TV Tuner Driver Pages in your site, but I found that you don't have ANY driver for Windows Server 2003
It's exactly the driver I have on MSI CD-ROM. As you can see above, it's telling There's no support for Win2003 !!!
       Your System OS Win9X/ME/2000/XP(22710KB)
Now you see ? Even in the manufactory you haven't tested and it was not important for this comany if their hardware can or cannot work on Win2003.
Maybe you have designed it especially for Windows XP and prior.
I JUST WANT TO KNOW THIS !!!
    bye

    hello to everybody
i just asssemble my new system today and i ran to a few problem.

This should probably be adressed in a seperate topic in the overclocking section of this forum.  Please provide a full list of all your OC-relevant Cell Menu settings when you start a thread about your problems.

EIST is an essentially software controlled feature.  You need to enable proper energy saving profiles in Windows to turn on EIST.

  • MSI-Z77-GD65 w/ HD4000

I am having great sucess w/ my second GD65, and this is the 1U Audio Workstation, which is mostly due to having no Video card, as I am into power/portability.
But I just got a new 8U Rack Mounted LCD Monitor and the stock colors are fine but the angle of view is awful.
I remember being able to tweak the colors and even partail angling of the HD4000, but I can't find it in WIndows 7 Pro x64.
Is it possible this is in the BIOS hidden somewhere?
I have tried every possible avenue and as usual when I really get stuck, I come here.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    JAV

Are you saying that you used to be able to adjust these settings previously via the Intel Graphics Control Panel and that you are now unable to access this dialog ?
Which BIOS version do you have on this board and which BIOS version do you have on the previous board ?
Perhaps the LCD monitor just has a a very limited angle of view ?

  • MSI z77a-gd65 doesn't boot 55 error

    Hello!
I have a problem with my pc
When I click the power button the pc is on a loop and nothing appears on the monitor.
The code that appears in the motherboard display is 55.
My pc was working without any problems for two weeks.
Someone can help me clarify what's going on?
    Thank you!
    My system:
    MSI GD65-z77a
    Intel Core i5-2500K
    Ripjaws Gskill 1600MHz CL9 DC-X 8GB
ASUS GForce GTX 560 DC II TOP
    Windows 7 64Bit Uiltimate
    WD 500GB SATA3 BLUE
    AEROCOOL SRTIKE X 600W

Hi pmec, got any further with this issue? I have a similar/the same problem with the same mobo.
I have the same LED error number, though mine did it straight away on the first boot.
I don't think the RAM is faulty as it is a set of 4 sticks and I've tried all of them on their own in slot 1 (though I guess it might be that the whole batch was faulty).
I also tried booting without any RAM at all to see if it behaved exactly the same, but there is a slight difference, I'm not sure if it means anything.
When there IS a stick in, the display jumps very quickly to showing '55' after the power is pressed then runs for a few seconds and reboots.
When there ISN'T a stick in, the display jumps quickly to showing '22' (iirc, I'm at work atm) then a couple of seconds later moves on to '55' before it reboots.
Maybe you could see if you get the same behaviour with no memory sticks in, I don't know what it would mean but it might help more knowledgeable people here to narrow down the problem?
If not maybe it's a different issue...

  • MSI P67A-GD65 - Front panel connections and sli A NO GO!

I have issues with this board and two gtx580 cards in sli, because If I plug the front panel connectors (power, reset, power led, hdd), the bottom card won't fit.
The issue was already found here too: http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1036689234&postcount=81
    Any solution from MSI.

That's not a problem for me; as the cables are plenty long. In regards to cable length the position is actually reasonable (though higher up on the same edge would address both issues). I've used at least one mb that had the connector about as far away as possible from the front connectors (it wasn't an msi - the last msi board I used was a K-3 which was really nice; still use it in my Dad's computer). Oh well I hope MSI respond to my ticket; as well as the other fellow; if nothing else maybe in the future they will address the issue.
Quote from: Bernhard on 21-March-11, 04:52:00
The MSI design alone is not the only problem. The case designers also leave the geader cables shorter than desired. I have no problem with my CM 690, but the other cases just seem to have cables that are about 10cm too short.
One solution I have employed is to route those cables under the board, diagonally, as the cable thickness is just less than the standoff heights. Thus, lay the cable in the case before inserting the MB. That way at least they won't get in the way of the GPU cards.

  • MSI Z87-GD65 - XMP not working

I just received another motherboard back from RMA, but when I set my XMP to Profile 1 (2400) the adjust DRAM frequency stays at 1600. I can only select up to 1600 under DRAM frequency as well.
The first weird thing was there were two DRAM frequency options, but since trying out different bios, it back to just one, but still won't clock up to 2400.
I've confirmed this is CPUID as well (800 speed)
Before the RMA, all I had to do was select XMP Profile 1 and it was perfect.
    I've tried bios 1.3, 1.6 1.8 1.9 and the newest beta 1.10B1 or 1.10A1 can't remember
    What should I do next?

Quote from: Bernhard on 28-April-14, 19:42:01
Yes it should, at minimum it show the RAM OC option to what the RAM supports and which is embedded in the RAM XMP profile.
I would start engaging MSI technical to establish what their opinion is of the lack of RAM OC options in your BIOS.
Thanks, I've called them and they're looking into for me. I've directed them to this thread as well.
